Yelp
First time coming here tonight and left pretty disappointed since my experience was nothing like the reviews on here.
First, there's absolutely no parking for this place. We accidentally drove around the back/wrong side and asked the rear valet (shared with the hotel/Tony Roma's) if they were also servicing The Fifth+hotel/front valet. He told us the front valet was completely full and gave us two options: pay $20 to valet right there (we parked and picked up by ourselves despite paying) or park at Anaheim GardenWalk (an ~11-minute walk) and still pay for parking there. I'm still confused how the front valet (also $20) was completely full since only half of the tables were occupied. Interesting that they don't have a better parking situation for busier days. Not that annoying, since we were just relieved we didn't have to drive over to Gardenwalk.
Then came the irritated, rude host. We didn't have a reservation (Wednesday night at 8:15pm, tried calling to ask for availability but I guess phone services are only until 8pm), but instead of having the option to wait for a table, we were only offered their "open bar seating." When I asked if that meant barstools/bar seating (bar area not visible from the host stand) she took a second to look at me like I was stupid before explaining that they were high-top tables (no barstools or bar seating btw). As a first-time guest just trying to understand the setup, it was unnecessarily rude and unwelcoming.
The bar seating itself was disappointing; the same wobbly outdoor tables and chairs as the rest of the establishment's majority, only separated by a single black rope. Out of the 4 available "bar" tables, only 1 was clean. I even saw a busser spray down a table, leave the bottle there, and then never come back to finish. This open-bar section was very obviously an excuse to avoid hiring enough servers and bussers while still getting a money grab from the location; general dining section had half of its tables empty for as long as we were there.
Ordering food/drinks at the bar was fine, and the bartender was nice. Drinks were solid and averagely priced for a rooftop bar ($17-$21, 8.5/10). For food, we ordered Cheeseburger w/ steak fries: A little undercooked for the medium patty ordered, can't really mess it up, decent overall, 8/10. Loaded tater tots: Super crunchy but stuck together like bricks, guac was a little overbearing, just average, 7/10. Chorizo mac & cheese: Seemed like thinned out Velveeta with meat and meat juice thrown in, tasted like it was missing something flavor-wise, breadcrumbs stale, 4/10.
(TLDR: This place only gets booked out for its views of the disneyland fireworks which rarely operates lately. Mediocre food, mediocre service, and overpriced parking, will not be coming back)
