Nice ambiance except it’s a little sleepy and the music was maybe a bit too quiet. I felt like my silverware was making a bunch of noise when I put it down on the plate. Had the Caesar salad and seafood linguine. The Caesar was pretty basic, just okay. The seafood linguine was spectacular, very delicious and good portion of seafood. The server was good. Tip was included in the check, and I was a party of 1.

LOVELY RESTAURANT INSIDE RENAISSANCE SEATTLE This restaurant is on the 2nd floor of the hotel. Most hotels offer the standard fare for breakfast, not so here. The range of offerings is very good and it's beautifully laid out. I stayed in the hotel and breakfasted here on two occasions, as it was included with my room. Not sure of prices otherwise. You can choose al a carte or buffet and I had the latter. There are hot and cold choices, from eggs and make your own waffles to a fine selection of cold cuts, fresh fruit, pastries, yogurts and cereals. The service was friendly and efficient and I didn't feel rushed. I'd love to know the story behind the name, but there's no information available and no-one I asked knew how it came to be.

Went on a Sunday after Xmas during a pandemic and a Snow storm. Staff was professional and the food came to the table quickly. Opens at 6 am until 9:30 am Mon-Fri and extended to 10 am on Sat&Sun for breakfast. Breakfast consisted of a healthy serving of hash browns, Two pouched eggs on top of a tomatoes, and English muffins with crab and hollandaise sauce.

Offers great food, ambiance, and service at a premium price point. Expect a wait for breakfast, but a decent return for your wait. Our server, Lamont, was exceptional.

Good ambiance, nice view, breakfast is really nice , I recommend the omelette (good option for healthy breakfast). The service is really good, the Asian little gent (I don't know his name) who works there is really kind serving us and made sure we got our soya latte. ❤️

Good food, friendly service, lively atmosphere. The prices on the Google version of the menu are very out of date, to the tune of 50%. Also, be prepared to pay a mandatory 20% service charge in addition. (Example: avocado toast is $19, not $12 plus 20% service charge and taxes.) However, conveniently located with plenty to offer a variety of dietary needs and tastes.

The food was -okay- but limited in options for a -buffet- Also, a forced 20% service charge feels a bit harsh for a meal where you get your own food. It was just shy of $80 for the two of us. I was drawn to leave this review as a warning to others. Your money might be better spent elsewhere.

Oh my slow, give yourself extra time as staff are slow to seat you, take your order, and bring your food. I was at the point to get up and leave. Tried to have scrambled eggs and bacon. Just that alone was $25. Want to say if you can find someplace worth the walk try it. Bit also can't go wrong here just plan for the wait .

Breakfast seating, stayed at hotel. Slow service and food. Ordinary food at best. Rubbery pancakes made from cheap mix. Less than fresh fruit. Steamer pan bacon that was tough and leathery. Clearly prepared hours ahead. I hate paying a premium price for a side of bacon that came off of the buffet line. Table and floor underneath was dirty after the host lead us around entire dining room figuring out where to seat us. Server was nice but not very attentive. There are a bunch of other places within walking distance that are monumentally better food. The Pike Place Market is only a 10 minute walk down the hill.

The morning routine for business travelers often includes the hotel restaurant with little thought going into how it compares to nearby restaurants. While on vacation I has the opportunity to look up from my work and noticed a really nice place in the Renaissance hotel. The Crab Benedict was outstanding! Like all of the dining experiences in Seattle, they are severely impacted by the service charge hike- adding 20% to all bills making breakfast for 2 a $70 event! 4 stars for food and experience but at this rate value is out the window.

The food was really really good. I was surprised given that it really is part of the Renaissance hotel and I doubt it. It's very many people would go up to the second floor if they weren't actually staying here. I had the seafood linguine and it was absolutely delicious fresh seafood, and a very light creamy sauce that just blended in coating the large shrimp, clams and fresh grilled salmon, not to mention various mushrooms, which added a very nice texture. The ambience of all fall very relaxing with jazzy new age music playing in the background. Well, worth going up to the second floor!

Absolutely excellent choice of food, amazing service, clean in a nice setting. Surprisingly wonderful experience in a very well run hotel.

Located on the second floor of the Renaissance Hotel. We are staying at the hotel and were up bright and early (still on East Coast time). My daughter and I popped in for breakfast just in time for the 6:30 a.m. opening. You have your choice of buffet or a la carte menu. Since we didn't know about the a la carte menu, we went for the buffet; $29 which includes coffee and juice. Typical Marriott Buffet but slightly elevated. 20% service charge (tip) and tax are added. My daughter had Raisin Bran, bacon and orange juice. I had half a jalapeno cheese bagel with cream cheese, a few breakfast potatoes, some bacon and ham and cheddar cheese. So, not really worth $60+ to us. So, this was one and done for us. We had wonderful servers and a great view of I-5 on a beautiful sunny Seattle morning.

This buffet is $36 a person and offers no gluten free bread of any sort. So if you wanted to have a sandwich or bagel you are screwed. Better just go get what you really want somewhere else.

Service is great and my order came out quickly. I got my order to go so that I could get back to work and it was packed well with everything I'd need. Food was great! Only possible negative was the auto add 20% gratuity. Eggs Benedict with hash-browns, 2 pancakes with strawberries, and a latte came to $52. Definitely enough food for breakfast for two though.

Slow, mediocre, overpriced, understaffed. Very disappointing for a Marriott property to have such a **terrible** restaurant on site. I am a BonVoy member and regularly visit Marriott properties. Without full room service, hotels need to offer a clean, reasonable restaurant for breakfast, lunch so guests have an in-house option for meals, especially during a big event if no meals are provided. Yes, we know it will be expensive since we're a captive audience but at least make it a decent meal. Came to the hotel for a 4-days event and had 1 hour for lunch. Ordered the "special" and it took so long for food to arrive we had to ask for it to go. Extra small portion and $40 tab for two half sized sandwich wraps was what made it "special" . Cmon Marriott. Step it up.

The Fig & The Judge Ratings: 3.9/5 Food: 4/5 - My friend is a Titanium member of Marriott, so we got a complimentary a la carte breakfast during our stay, so we decided to try it out before we start our adventure in Seattle. We are allow to select one entrée and one beverage of our choice. MY friend and I both got the Dungeness crab benedict. Please see below for a detailed review of the food we got. - Dungeness Crab Benedict [GET]: This dish exceeded my expectations. There was a heaping portion of fresh crabmeat laid right on top of a pile of spinach and tomato. The eggs are perfectly poached with a running egg yolks and along with the creamy hollandaise sauce, definitely made the English muffin super moist and chewy to eat, yet not soggy. Great texture! The only downside was the potatoes on the side. We wished that it was fried crispier and a more burnt outer layer. - Cappuccino [GET]: Seattle is known for its coffee, but this hotel cappuccino did not disappoint me. The milk foam was good and coffee is smooth to drink with a good aroma. I just wished that the cappuccino was stronger than it is, and I definitely tasted more milk than coffee. Ambiance: 4/5 - The interior dining area is pretty, spacious, bright, clean, and definitely well-kept. It looks like most of the higher-end hotel chains at Marriott. There's lots of booths, tables, and chairs available. You can see a view of the highway if you happened to sit next to the windows. Expect this place to be packed during the weekends. This is a great spot for a causal meal for personal or business travel. Price: 3.75/5 - Dungeness crab benedict was $27 and the cappuccino was $5 before tax and tips. If I was paying for this meal, I think it was just average in terms of worth and value. They do give a good amount of crabmeat, but as a traveler, there are just too many other restaurants nearby for me to try, so I would rather visit a local restaurant and coffee shops then spending money on a meal at the hotel. Service: 3.75/5 - The customer service was good, but nothing too surprisingly crazy. We came here during brunch hour on Sunday, and it was quite packed. There are limited waitress, and we can see they are bussing in and out of the kitchen. Despite somewhat slow service and waitress forgot to bring us water, our waitress was nice and friendly and served us our food promptly. BLUF: The Dungeness Crab Benedict is the way to go for brunch at the Renaissance hotel. Make sure to ask them to toast your hash brown longer for the extra crunch. Everyone seems happy dining there, so you cannot go wrong with any of their menu options. I was happy and satisfied with my meal there, and definitely will return again.

Burnt white toast. That's how best to describe this place. And that's exactly what you'll get. The ambiance is nice, the service was pleasant with a smile, so two stars for those. However, the food is bland and drastically overpriced. My party and I considered the breakfast buffet but decided against it as what was out did not fit the price point of $30 per person. The assortment of available options looked either overcooked or undercooked and definitely not fresh. Having chosen from the main menu, our order came out as a beautiful presentation, but that was all. The toast was wonderbread and burnt, the eggs were super runny and tasted like water and the hashbrowns tasted of cardboard. Sadly I can't recommend this place. One would do much better walking down the street and finding a hole in the wall. The food would be better and the price would be a fraction.

Just f Seattle, somehow there advertised price $28, turns into $40 with the hotels mandatory 30% gratuity and socialist tax structure, I did enjoy the salmon locks but overall, no. Way too much money.

Not the typical hotel restaurant. We ate here twice on our trip. The service was really good in the afternoon but not as great during the breakfast rush. The restaurant ambiance is casual but nice. The food was good both times. There is definitely better outside in the city but as far as hotel restaurants go, no complaints.

Delicious!! We stopped in by chance & boy did this restaurant sparkle!! I was the first person visiting at 5pm, so I had the wait staff to myself and boy.....I felt pampered. I met my girlfriend for appetizers before an event we were attending and we chose the cauliflower/cheese curds & hummus and veggies. Both appetizers were fresh. The cheese curds and cauliflower were accompanied by nuts and dried apricots, which were great flavor combos . The hummus had tons of veggies, and two varieties of hummus. Atmosphere is light and airy. Wait staff is friendly and attentive. This is a little gem, like a bit of calm in a hectic city!

I was on the training at this hotel, and we all got one hour to go eat, so by default, everyone showed up at this restaurant. We showed up first, and no one was there to sit us, waited for a few, then went around the back to ask if it's open. Then they sat us, got our order and 40 min later we were still waiting for it. Everyone who showed up after us was already eating. I came up to the manager and asked about our order, and 10 min later it showed up leaving only 10 min for us to eat. They had only one server, she was frantically running between the tables and soon there was a line of people at a cashier waiting to pay. And btw, 20% service fee is auto included. Terrible service, get more staff people, and be aware of which trainings are taking place so you aren't surprised by people wanting to eat at your restaurant.

I always want to recognize the good first. It was a nice atmosphere and staff were friendly. Now the Bad. The pricing was borderline insane. I was changed a total of $31.75 for a chicken caesar wrap, no drink, just a wrap, Note that the restaurant charges $14 for the wrap which is a tortilla and a handful of lettuce, $10 for maybe 6 oz or less of chicken and then an automatic 20% gratuity.

You can order or choose to do the buffet. We ordered and our food was great, waitress seemed a little stretched thin, however she handled it well. It was a little crowded and noisy other than that we loved it. Would recommend!

Not one for hotel restaurants however due to circumstances and convenience we tried it for breakfast. PHENOMENAL! There were 4 in our party. One had the buffet, one the avocado toast, one jalapeño bagel sandwich and then last but not least the parfait. Everything was tasty! Our server Michael was so fun and entertaining! It was busy but still very attentive! Highly Highly Recommend!

I was here for a teacher conference, and instead of trying to leave the hotel and find a place to eat with 5,000 other teachers, I opted to stay at the hotel and eat at The Fig & The Judge. What a lovely surprise! The place wasn't packed, the service was top notch, and the food was great! Everything was so great, I told my colleagues and they me at the hotel the following day for lunch. During my first visit I had the Pappa Al Pomodoro with a grilled cheese sandwich. The Fig & The Judge's version of these two classic comfort foods was yummy. The soup had great flavor, the bread was toasted and buttery, and the cheese had a nutty flavor. On my second visit I had the pastrami reuben sandwich, and it was also great. The bread for the grilled cheese and reuben were the same, and The Fig & The Judge uses bread from Macrina Bakery, a Seattle bakery. My coworkers were pleased with their meals. This is a great restaurant for a business lunch or casual dining. If you're just getting in from a flight or don't feel like leaving the hotel, give this restaurant a try.

This is the restaurant on the second floor of the Renaissance hotel in downtown Seattle. We stayed at the hotel and ate at their breakfast buffet for all three days we were in Seattle. The buffet itself was good and offered several options - eggs, bacon (always), sausage, French toast or waffles, potatoes, fruits, pastries, yogurt, etc. An omelet station would have been nice but I really can't complain too much since breakfast for two was included in the room rate. The breakfast crew was great and very attentive - they also gave us a smoothie to start the meal. We also had the chance to try their dinner service once and the experience was a little more mixed - the food itself had some strong points (the clam chowder, including smoked salmon, and the chicken in the ballotine itself were really good and tasty) but the dessert (shortbread) was way too sweet and the potatoes and veggies that accompanied the chicken need some work. It also didn't appear that they had enough staff to accommodate a crowded restaurant on a Saturday night. The ambiance is great - very modern look and gorgeous views. Overall, this is a very solid hotel restaurant option.

Staying at the hotel pre-cruise. Breakfast was not included with the room so we opted for the buffet. Good selection of cold foods including cereals, hard boiled eggs, cold cuts etc. Pastries were fairly run of the mill. Hot scrambled eggs were very good. MYO Belgium waffles. Bacon and sausage. Hot home fried potatoes looked good. I was satisfied with what I had. However, the bill came to $76 for two of us which included an automatic 20% gratuity. The service was very good as far as coffee goes but we served ourselves at the buffet and I would never tip 20% for a self serve buffet. Also, automatic gratuity should be mentioned when seating or when the bill arrives.

I don't understand how there could be so many people "working" but people are waiting to be seated and tables are dirty. My burger came out cold and well done (when asked for med rare) with a side of fries (when I asked for a salad). Server was no where to be seen for most of the time. Oh and there's an automatic 20% gratuity added to your check.

Great dining location, in Seattle Renaissance Hotel. One of the better in-hotel dining experiences you will ever have. Nice views, great service, and excellent food. Spotlessly clean and orderly. Staying here and enjoying breakfast is the way to start your day in Seattle. The menu has something for everyone, and if you want to indulge, the Dungeness Crab Eggs Benedict is absolutely the way to go! Heaping portions of crab, on perfectly poached eggs, with spinach and creamy hollandaise - I can't wait to go back to Seattle!

Wonderful menu with something for everyone! Casual ambiance with Seattle downtown views on the 2nd floor! Though short staffed on both days we had breakfast here, the manager and prepare the tables quickly and pitch in to accommodate all! Nice fresh fruits and attractive plate presentations when served by attentive staff!

The Fig & The Judge is decorated beautifully but was completely empty during the dinner hour. That should have been our sign. Food was grossly overpriced and gratuity was automatically built into the tab (which might be a Seattle law). I had the Tiger Prawn wraps and my mom had the Ancient Grain salad which she was very excited about. However it came out super spicy for her and she was unable to eat it. My prawns were good but lacked flavor. The only part of the meal that had flavor was the onion and the soy sauce. It was like the chef forgot that garlic or ginger existed. The waitress worked alone but was super nice. I wouldn't recommend the Fig & the Judge in the Marriott Renaissance for dinner, I don't have experience for breakfast or lunch.

Food was great! I got the eggs Benedict with crab and I'll be honest while great food, I think the buffet is the bretter value.

Stopped in to get coffee and a pasty, a plain black coffee cost me 7$ and a cold, hard croissant another 7$. Keep walking and find a Starbucks.

What a great little place for coffee and breakfast!! Atmosphere was quite and was able to work on a couple of things. The service was great and on point. Ordered the quiche and fresh fruit! Everything was delicious. It was pricey, but worth it. Remember they add 10.1 sales tax and 20% service charge on all orders.

I can only write about our breakfast experience.   Complimentary breakfast came with our room at the Renaissance Seattle, which was the breakfast buffet: scrambled eggs (improved with the addition of Tabasco sauce and green onions), bacon, turkey sausage (very good), waffle quarters, and fried potatoes (soft from being in chaffing dish).  The cured salmon was excellent.  Fresh fruit was good.  The pastries were so-so.  The full breakfast menu looked more interesting with such items as Dungeness Crab Benedict and Oregon huckleberry pancakes.  With all hard surfaces, the restaurant is very noisy.

It's a super cute, classy place. But not many food options. I had the seared duck, and it was very scrumptious for my first duck.. but the cherry sauce was very strong. My friends and I enjoyed our time here. The waitress was super kind, but took a long time to bring us our straws. My friend had the mussels here and did not really enjoy them. The food was okay.

Came back as I really wanted the pastrami sandwich. It is no longer on the menu. They changed chefs and have a limited menu while they change the menu. I had the Bahn Mi with pork belly. My own personal preference is to have the pork belly slightly crisp not soggy. I missed pickled carrots and cilantro. Their fries are still good though. Unfortunately I was not blown away. Too bad because we stay here for business. It's a lovely setting and the wait staff is great. Sorry but my rating went down and I probably won't be back.

The worst watered oatmeal I have ever seen. Ordered the same meal two mornings in a row. The second morning I got no fruit or toast and the watered oatmeal was disgusting. Also cost twice as much as the first morning not sure why because it was missing items.

Excellent service. They have fresh orange juice and good coffee. They don't have vegan options except for oatmeal and hashed browns.

We had dinner here last night for Seattle Restaurant Week. We each ordered their signature-named salad and the clam chowder. Both very tasty. It took a while to come out of the kitchen, but I wasn't too bothered by that. Next up was the chicken ballotine and the burger. The burger was very tasty and the fries were handcut and quite excellent. I add some mustard to the burger, it was missing a bit of a kick, but otherwise was very nice. The chicken was also tasty, but I think the burger was the way to go. Finally, dessert. We had the carrot cake and Hungarian shortbread. First off, both delicious, but definitely sugar overload together. That's more of a personal preference though as we don't normally eat much sweets. The cherry on top was service from Jared. He took excellent care of us and that's rare to find in Seattle anymore. He truly cared about our dining experience and I'd request him for service the next time we're back. Overall, nice little spot in an unexpected location that I'd be happy to return to as a local.

The restaurant wasn't very busy when we arrived for lunch and was about half full when we left. Our waiter was a little scattered, joking twice that he hoped our first course came out first. I also ran out of water one time. I had the specialty spinach salad. It was delicious. The figs and cranberries made it sweet and tart. The nuts gave it a good crunch. The feta added creaminess and depth. The bacon was a little too crisp, but otherwise balanced the salad with saltiness. I didn't taste the sherry in the vinegarette, which was a good thing. The salad was really, really good. The fish and chips had giant, thick pieces of fish in a flaky, crispy batter. They were cooked perfectly. I would go back just for the fish. The fish was served with delicious cole slaw and fries. The fries were the hand-cut potato variety, sized between a standard fry and a steak fry. They were okay. If I were in the area around lunch, I would try The Fig and the Judge again.

I love this place! For me, it's a "special occasion" place - I'll go before a show or something like that. The food is excellent; if you've ever shied away from "hotel restaurants," this is not that kind of place. There are a lot of good dining options right around the Renaissance, but TF&TJ is a destination for me. The craft cocktails are delightful, BTW!

Of my 3 years in Seattle this was by far the worst meal I have eaten. I have a severe allergy and it was brought up multiple times, yet dishes were handed to me with the allergy on the plate - and even so - cooked in butter (allergy) and I have spent the entire day sick today. The restaurant was empty and yet we sat with empty water glasses, no drinks, no asking how our food was, no care what so ever on how our experience was. They didn't offer a single dairy free dessert option. The 20% automatic gratuity is a horrific idea seeing as how the service didn't deserve even 10% of a tip and trust me, I was a waitress through college and understand the importance of tipping. Do not go here. Not ever for dinner. Ever.

We came for breakfast as part of our hotel stay. After being seated at a table we had absolutely no service for at least 10-15 minutes, at which time an attendant came over to just ask if we have paid or not. Still nobody offers coffee or water, no napkins or cutlery, nothing. Nobody explains that there is a menu option and we have to hunt people down just to get an answer on whether it is all buffet or not. Finally we just get fed up and get our own utensils and start breakfast. Food is ok, nothing notable. Buffet area isn't particularly well done and fresh fruit is anything but. This is not anything of my expectation of a renaissance hotel in terms of service standards or quality.

We spend night at Renaissance hotel last week so we decided to have a dinner at this place. Waiter was nice and friendly but rating food with even one star is way too much.All three of us order burgers that had absolutely no taste. Way , way too salty, overpowering any other flavour, if there was any. 20% tip added to that was bit too much for unsatisfying food. However, we had buffet breakfast next morning that was pretty good, with choice of cereals, fresh cut fruit, pastries,scrambled eggs and bacon. Overall this place doesn't deserve more that 3 stars

For a hotel restaurant it as pretty good. Didn't do the breakfast buffet but it looked good. Ordered huckleberry pancakes and they are huge. And delicious. Service was professional and friendly.

Breakfast was wonderful- nothing fancy, basic breakfast fare and a buffet. I had an omelet and potatoes and they were great. More than anything though, service was solid. My particular server this morning, Michael, was sensational. Dude is just really great at his job, friendly and energetic and attentive, but efficient. Give Michael a raise. Drop in to the restaurant for breakfast. Can't go wrong.

Stopped in with co-workers for a lunch meeting. The decor is decidedly NW and very clean and modern. We were seated promptly (there were only a few other parties in the restaurant). Service was pleasant, quick and efficient. We ordered the Bahn Mi, Caesar Salad with prawns and the Ahi Club. All was delicious and everyone cleaned their plates. The menu for sandwiches or mains is VERY limited; in fact, they probably have more appetizers than the sandwiches and mains combined. I didn't have an issue with the price (it is Seattle and in a hotel). A 20% surcharge was added which I'm starting to get used to. All-in-all, a nice place, nothing that stands out too much. I just wish they had a larger menu.

Food is amazing - we had breakfast, lunch & dinner and all were great. Inlet, breakfast potatoes, fresh fruit, turkey club sandwich, fig & judge salad, egg drop soup, all great, but that's besides the point. The service is amazing!! All the bus people, wait staff and managers: phenomenal. Immediate water refills, everything you ask for in exceptional timing, and really just nice people. But really I'm here to brag about Jared S. He explained that he enjoys being a server because he likes to bring joy to people. He was so kind hearted and fun! Made the night more than dinner, an experience. Truly a wonderful person and so glad he was our sever. Seriously. Jared is an exceptional server!

We had the Fig and The Judge Burger with the Bacon, Brie cheese and fig/onion jelly. It was really tasty! The service was excellent, very personable and attentive. Plus the Mai Tai we had was beautiful. It looked like a tropical sunset. Ask for Chris the bartender. ;-)

Came for restaurant week. To be honest there was nothing good about this place. The main meal, the steak was mediocre at best very fatty and not cooked correctly. The desserts were clearly mass purchases and not made in house. I had cheesecake and wife has lava cake both were terrible and not eaten. That said food was better than service. Dear God this could not have been worse. Orders were wrong, no one in restaurant and still slow as shit service and thanks to forced gratuity of 20% could do nothing about it. I would never come again. Also I rarely review and this place was so bad I felt I had to.

Average for hotel food. Hollandaise sauce was gelatinous and the poached eggs didn't break.
