"Located on the historic Granbury square, the Fillin’ Station serves up a variety of classic food such as burgers, salads, sandwiches, homemade peach cobbler, and spun milkshakes. Robustly decorated in a vintage automobile motif, the interior honors the previous use of the building as a Marathon Oil station but remains a comfortable, family-friendly space." - Courtney E. Google
Pretty good burger restaurant. We visited on a Friday afternoon and were seated quickly. The wait was not long for our food. We ordered 2 burgers both were good! We also ordered the Steak Fingers and the Spark Plugs both were ok. The steak fingers were very thin and the spark plugs were super small and lacked flavor. The fries, onion strings and fried jalapeños were great! If we visit again we would just get burgers.

Google
Cadillac steak with bacon ground into it was not as flavorful as I expected, but was good. Really good, light onion rings. Great place to grab a bite before taking in a musical play at the historic Granbury Theatre across the street. Their plays are definitely worth the hour-plus trip we have to make. Wife had the jalapeno-stuffed pork tenderloin Spark Plugs. Mild and tasty.

We arrived in town and chose this place due to reviews and outdoor seating. My wife ordered shrimp wok, and I ordered a hamburger. Hamburger had no flavor. Fries were good. My wife was enjoying her shrimp wok until she found a cooked roach in it. (She even recommended it to a group.) Needless to say, we both lost our appetite and were disgusted. I quietly went inside and asked to speak to management. They treated us nice, apologized, and didn't charge us. I'm writing this review several days later because I feel people should be aware. I have eaten all over the place and have never found a roach or other bug in my food.

Google
We stopped in to get some lunch and had a good experience. The service was good, just a little slow. The food depended on what you got. My husband got a Torpedo (sausage) and it was delicious! The fries we got to share were also really good. I got the Wing Bites and was a little disappointed. They were ok but were really just chicken nuggets with Buffalo sauce on them. They tasted fine, just wasn't what I expected.

Google
4 stars seems high while 3 stars seems low. It’s a very basic place with nothing that stands out. The frozen food is clearly frozen and fresh food is clearly fresh. The salads are great! The buffalo chicken bites are glorified nuggets. REALLY NEED more craft beer selections.

Google
This restaurant is conveniently located right on Granbury Square and serves classic American fares. We ordered El Camino and Volvo burger. Both were unfortunately bland and the meat seemed dry and wasn’t even seasoned. Both the hand cut and sweet potato fries were also under seasoned and dripping with oil. The ice cream shake however was alright. The staff was polite and were attentive. If I visit Granbury again, I’d rather dine elsewhere.

It was interesting. We got into town late afternoon, around 1430. We decided to go eat based on a google review of the shop. There was only 5 people in the restaurant. It took almost ten minutes to be seated. The staff was extremely friendly from that point on. The Hamburger was a frozen patty but the fries were amazing! Over all it would not be my first choice for Id afternoon. My daughter says we went at the wrong time.

Cristin Martin

Google
The cheeseburger I ordered was perfectly grilled and delicious. I usually don't care about fries, but the fries served here were probably the best I've ever had. It is a wonderful place with a lot of history.

Deb G.

Yelp
Very good Rueben and grilled chicken sandwich. Great fries. Excellent service. Cute ambience. Clean restaurant. Inside and outside seating available.

Jean H.

Yelp
Our waitress was great. Friendly and conscientious! But there must be a beef shortage in Granbury. My hamburger reminded me of the "meat" we used to eat in school cafeterias in the 70s. All the same color, all the same bland taste.

Jamie C.

Yelp
The Fillin' Station has a large covered dog friendly patio...which is how we ended up there on a recent vacation with a stormy night. It is very conveniently located on a corner on the main square. Lots of delicious sandwiches to choose from, and the waitress brought water for our pups (as well as the humans)!

Eric C.

Yelp
Good and uncomplicated food. Go with the classics and burgers. They're phenomenal. Their special (the sparks) is disappointing: lots of fries stuff not a lot of protein. But the burgers ate not disappointing. The service is good. Ambiance is chill too. Great place to have uncomplicated and tasty food on a weekend

Yelp
I live in Granbury, although I seldom eat downtown. Today was my second, maybe third visit to The Fillin' Station and I believe will be my last. There were Memorial Day events downtown so I can cut some slack in that most places if not all were full; However... It took a while to get a table, the Hostess was seemingly busy either seating guests or cleaning tables, but took a while to get to us. Once seated it took what seemed like at least 15 minutes for a server to come to our table to take our order and then bring our drinks. We ordered our drinks and a starter plate and the drinks came and the plate seemed to take like 30 minutes. We ordered boneless chicken wings and they came with French fries. I could swear the "wings" were some frozen Dyson wings from the supermarket. Not impressed in any way, shape or form. Then the wait begins for our food... we waited and waited for what seemed to be another 1/2 an hour. When the food was FINALLY served, again, I was not impressed. My plate in particular was luke warm at best, and the item they call onion rings appeared more like onion flakes and was not only something I did not eat but was completely cold. The cheese on my burger had been melted and then let to get cold, meaning it had sat in the kitchen for quite a while. In summary, my experience was the service was poor and slow, the food was not good, and the price was excessively high. After having lived in Granbury for three years I have learned that, with the exception of Stumpy's most places in town or on the river or lake are over priced and don't have good food. I like to support local businesses over chain restaurants (although those too are by and large franchises and local), but this is maybe the third restaurant in Granbury that I will not be returning to.

Chris J.

Yelp
I ordered online so I can really only comment on the food. The food was fantastic. You know your doing well when they ask you to choose how to cook your burger. I chose medium well and it was cooked perfectly. I didn't realize I was getting fries. They are a bit average. I did love the onion rings cut very thin. Such a treat to get these items. The grilled onions and jalapeños on my burger were awesome as well. I am at a hotel w my dog so I wish I could have visited here.

Cheryl W.

Yelp
Be careful when ordering To Go. I placed an order today for (2) burgers and when I got there and told the hostess that I was there to pick up an order for Bill, she got a strange look on her face and said she would be right back. She went to the back and returned with my check and she returned her focus to people waiting to be seated. Upon review of my check, it was for 1 burger and a hot dog. I informed her that this wasn't my order and she sheepishly said, yes I know, we mistakenly gave your order to another gentleman and said sorry and asked do you want this order. They were busy at the noon hour and I knew it would take another 15-20 minutes for them to prepare my order so instead of making a scene I took the order. I don't blame the hostess unless she happens to also be the manager. Obviously poor management with no accountability. I will not be eating there again, which is a shame because the food is always good.

Jill K.

Yelp
We tried The Fillin' Station for lunch & thought the food was very good & the service was very friendly. My husband enjoyed the delicious "Spark Plugs" with skinny onion rings. The Chicken Wok I ordered was also very good with lots of fresh veggies. Both dishes were recommended by Laci - our waitress. Only negative is the restrooms were not as clean as we thought they should be.

Gary S.

Yelp
My wife and I were passing through town on the way to Dallas, and we decided to try the Fillin Station. The patio was very convenient with our small dogs. I ordered the Meredes Rueben, and my wife ordered a hamburger. Both were excellent and the waitress was very nice and helpful. I would definitely come back if I am here again!

Richard P.

Yelp
I've been eating here occasionally over 21/2 years because the food was dependably good. Well something happened. I ate there on 7/23 in the afternoon. I ordered the Volvo hamburger on a jalapeño bun. I got the burger and WOW what a disappointment. Way over cooked throughout the whole burger which was very dry. I couldn't put enough Mayo on to make it palatable. I talked with the waitress and showed her the burger and explained how disappointed I was with it. Her response was do you want a to go box. I was flabbergasted with that comment. To sum it up; neither she nor the cook nor manager had any interest making this customer happy or satisfied. So I left the $13 hockey puck of a burger on the table never to darken the door again.

Krystal P.

Yelp
The food is not good. Your basic bar food. Seating is weird. The place could use a overhaul and new management. Avoid unless having cocktails in a nice day outside.

Phil S.

Yelp
The restaurant wasn't very busy when we went in. The staff all appeared to less than enthused with having to work that day. After a few moments the waitress came to our table and took our drink order. While we waited for our drinks to be served there was a young child sitting at the table behind us (by themselves) with their tablet pc streaming a video loud enough to hear over the chit chat going on in the place. Turns out our waitress was pulling double duty of working and babysitting the child. The food came out eventually and it less than noteworthy. Fries appeared to be taken out of the fryer a little early, the sandwiches were not warm and again the lack of any enthusiasm was still fully on display with the staff. Was it the worse place to eat? Probably not but I wouldn't take the time to find a parking spot just to eat there again.

Saralyn B.

Yelp
Great salad! Homemade dressing was very refreshing too. We were in Grandbury on a little getaway and happened upon the Fillin' Station and thought we'd give it a try. The inside was cute and nostalgic. The waitress was pleasant and prompt. I looked around at some other peoples selections and they looked delicious. I will be ordering the burgers and onion rings for sure.

Ariana V.

Yelp
Love this find in beautiful Granbury! We stopped by after a day out on our way back to Fort Worth. The weather was nice, so we opted for their patio, which was perfect for a sunny, spring day! I had the thunderbird on jalapeño with fries. The sandwich was good: chicken was surprisingly juicy and loved the added bacon. My only wish was to have the jalapeño bread have more of a "kick" to it. Fries were great and crispy. Overall, had a great lunch here and would definitely come back! May sit indoors next time only due to the street noise while out on the patio. Staff was friendly and attentive!

Amy O.

Yelp
Get a burger with the jalapeño bread! Trust me! We went late in the afternoon so it wasn't too crowded but I e seen it packed. They have a nice large covered patio and inside has cute memorabilia.

Denise G.

Yelp
Food was yummy! We sat outside on the patio. I need 16 more Service was VERY slow!! We had to get up and go in search of our waitress twice.

Kimberly W.

Yelp
This place is a hit or miss. When they are good, the food is amazing! But if it is an off night... makes you not want to return for a while.

Kari-Anne W.

Yelp
6/24/23. First off, when we were seated we had to wipe down the table. Our waitress even watched us as she handed us the menus and didn't acknowledge it. Food was less than average. My husband got the Ruben sandwich and there was about a table spoon of sauerkraut, a splash of dressing and a slice or 2 of meat. Ridiculous. Not the quality I remember from 3 years ago. McAlisters makes a Ruben 10x better. My plate of fried shrimp and fries wasn't anything more than what seemed like frozen battered shrimp from a box. To top it off our waitress was hardly seen the entire time. We ran out of drinks 1/2 way through our meal. Many other waitresses were very attentive to their tables, just not our waitress. She never came out from the back to check on us or her other table next to us.

Laura H.

Yelp
I'm not sure what happened. If this place is under new management or if Covid did them in because I've ordered to go sandwiches from Grub Hub and I remember it being good...not the case anymore. We went there for lunch yesterday before grabbing a movie. We got there at a few minutes after 11 there were maybe 5 or 6 more customers there at that time. We ordered 2 sandwiches, a burger and 3 teas. 45 minutes and 49 dollars later we got our food the same time we asked for our check. The burger (mushroom and swiss) was so tasteless, I had to pour a ton of salt on it to make sure I was actually eating something. The roast beef dip was the same, the au jus was served in, I kid you not, one of those tiny little plastic cups you put ketchup in. Now mind you. We ordered a chicken sandwich, a french dip and a single patty burger and 3 iced teas. Our total WITHOUT tip was $49.XX Needless to say we won't be back, nor will we order out again from here. Do better Square merchants.

Jill L.

Yelp
Right off the bat, I was turned off by the delay of being acknowledge by a hostess to be seated. The decor is very unique and interesting. They have a nice, large patio that would be nice to eat out on if it hadn't been so hot out. There was another delay in being acknowledged by a waitress and having our drink order taken. We were able to go ahead and order a kids grilled cheese and a fried pickled jalapeño appetizer at this time too. The iced water I received tasted dirty (like the filter had not been cleaned out). I also asked for lemons when I ordered my water and never received them. The fried jalapeños was the highlight of our meal; they were well coated and tasted good. The kids meal came out so dang hot it had to sit for about two minutes until it was palatable for my kids. When our entrees came out the disappointment continued. My fried shrimp looked burned (see photo). I decided to try it in case the battering just fries darker but no it tasted mildly burnt and the shrimp itself was overdone. My husbands burger looked good but that's the extent of it. He described the burger as tasting boiled. Needless to say we were disappointed after having a family member highly recommend this place.

Barbara M.

Yelp
Delicious food. Great service. Highly recommend. If you're in a hurry & don't want that small town homey feel go somewhere else. Lots of regulars come here. Loved this place.

Heather V.

Yelp
Delicious burgers & fries!! We visited this restaurant 5 years ago & again this summer and it was just as good as we remembered!! Not all restaurants live up to our memories, but this place has great food & fantastic service

Nina J.

Yelp
We stopped in to get some lunch and had a good experience. The service was good, just a little slow. The food depended on what you got. My husband got a Torpedo (sausage) and it was delicious! The fries we got to share were also really good. I got the Wing Bites and was a little disappointed. They were ok but were really just chicken nuggets with Buffalo sauce on them. They tasted fine, just wasn't what I expected.

Jeniffer P.

Yelp
Sad to say but AVOID at all costs. Food is overpriced crap and service was aweful. Got a po boy sandwich and the shrimp were fried with very little sauce. I didnt want fried shrimp. One person in my party got the "loaded" ham, bacon, lettuce & tomato sandwich that had a slice of ham lunch meat and they forgot the bacon, which they told the waitress after finishing the sandwich & she brought them out bacon to eat? Should have taken $ off instead. The other person in my party got the shrimp po boy with onion rings. The onion rings were so thin, cold and tasteless. The charge extra if you want fries or side salad with your overpriced sandwich.

Joe R.

Yelp
Service is poor when I go. They tend to others even when very people are there. Went today and was denied service due to voicing my opinion on their service and asking about their products. Jared was the manager and told me he could not service me because he was the manager, but he was serving another patron when u was leaving. Plus, he texted me on my personal phone being rude the other weekend when himself was intoxicated on duty.

Linda M.

Yelp
I was in the mood for a good burger while visiting the square; this definitely wasn't it. Really, right up there with the worst I've ever had. The meat tasted prepackaged prepattied frozen; just tasteless. The sandwich did come with a good amount of veggie topping but the bun/bread was just odd in texture and taste. My fries were good with the perfect crunch. The drink prices were outrageous so I didn't partake. It's definitely a 1 star and there are just too many other choices in the area to even consider visiting here again.

Donna H.

Yelp
Nice atmosphere. They have sandwiches and a variety on menu. Onion rings are really good. Did not Luke the batter on fries.

P E.

Yelp
tough ball burgers.. Like a lot of people in the Square area...appeal to the tourist traffic and not those of us who live here...no dogs on patio either where everyone else on Square is pet friendly...3x was plenty for me...too pricey also

Ashley E.

Yelp
Great burgers and love the onion strings! I believe they are called spark plugs as well bacon wrapped pork with a basalmic glaze- amazing! Lovely patio seating as well.

Lorelie J.

Yelp
Will never go back! I guess it's okay to tip yourself at this establishment? Service was awful, I left a cash tip of 15$ and put zero on the ticket. My ticket was 85$ my card was ran at close for 108.77!!!

Christine C.

Yelp
Service and food left alot to be desired to say the least. Waitress looked angry to be working and didn't smile once. Pretty sure we could have gotten better food and service at a local gas station.

Lynn C.

Yelp
I have been here 3 times. The first time, everything was ok, service was ok, food was ok. Nothing spectacular but not disappointing. The next time we stopped by and got the food 45 minutes later and the food was disappointing. Not hot, marginal taste. Despite our last experience we decided to give it another try because the concert was next door and figured we had an hour. All we wanted was a burger. 50 minutes later no food as we were getting up to leave the food showed up. It was not what we ordered and looked horrible. We canceled and left but not before they charged us $2.54 for a coke. If you decide to go here expect to take forever to get your food and it will be ok. I hope this review is helpful.

Mark S.

Yelp
This was a great stop. The food was good and the service from our waitress was excellent. She was defiantly new as she asked what type of dressing we wanted with out appetizer of hard boiled eggs with chicken salad...but she was more than helpful and very attentive. Burger was cooked just right. And the onion straws were yummy.

Jess Ann M.

Yelp
This is absolutely the worst restaurant that I have ever been to in my entire life. I had the French dip that came out dry with burnt edges on a sorry bun with au jus with no taste. My husband had a burger that we think was frozen with no taste and fries that were clearly store bought. Our college aged daughter has the worst of it a BLT that came to the table looking like the saddest sandwich on white bread with 4 shriveled thin burnt pieces of bacon the thinnest slice of tomato and 1piece of shriveled lettuce & The topper she had a strand of hair in her food. They are not even remotely trying to make a good meal. Worst restaurant ever!

Linda P.

Yelp
We know it was a busy night because of the parade downtown but the service was ridiculously slow. I would give them food writing a five on a scale of 10. The decor was the best part about the entire restaurant

William W.

Yelp
Juicy Burgers! Our first visit was on Sunday evening. We both ordered the Model A, patties cooked medium. My wife got hers on Ciabatta bun with Swiss cheese & fries. I got mine on an onion bun, no tomato & onion rings. Order arrived in a timely manner, meat cooked exactly as ordered. Fries were previously frozen but good. We both really enjoyed the thin, crispy rings, which are more like strings than rings. Service was very good. We'll be back to try other menu items.

Sheila B.

Yelp
Love this place, my favorite is the deuce coupe, it's a grilled Mac and cheese sandwich!!! Great patio and friendly staff!

Tee M.

Yelp
Well, sadly my first visit to this place and it was not a good one. We went in on a Sunday morning just at opening. The lady that sat us just threw the menus on the table like she had no interest in our being there, that should have been a great clue to exit. A visit to the rest room was another clue. Very dirty, in fact the entire place was dirty, hand prints on the windows, food stains on the seats and tables and floors sticky. We ordered a Reuben and a hamburger steak plate. The only reason for the two stars is the food wasn't bad. Crispy fries and a descent Reuben. The prices are a little high for a sandwich and fries, fourteen bucks but hey everyone seems to be playing the Covid card these days. The saddest part of the visit being the service. Every server in the place acted miserable, no smiles and all acting as if their teeth were being pulled without anesthesia. When your paycheck depends on tips, at least you could fake liking the people providing the tips.

Walter S.

Yelp
Worst. Service. Ever. 45 Minute wait for our food and few others there. 2 burgers and a appetizer. Once they brought it the order was not complete. No Twin Carbs float. The manager was very unfriendly. I normally never leave a totally negative review but avoid this place like the plague. Unfriendly for Granbury. If I only had 10 minutes to live I'd come here because it would feel like a lifetime.

Becca B.

Yelp
We stopped in for a bite after leaving the beach. We were seated immediately, preferring inside rather than the lovely patio. We needed to cool down a little. We ordered the Coil Spring - crispy fried potato spirals with queso. & Egg Chicken Salad. All of the food was very good! I especially enjoyed the chicken salad which had nuts (maybe walnuts) & cranberries & came with greens, strawberries, & pickled veggies.

Ashley D.

Yelp
Didn't take pics of the food, nothing glamorous. Paid $86 before tip for 2 kid meals, chicken sandwich, burger and grilled cheese. A bottled beer was $8 which is redic. Food was bland, chicken was dry. Location is all they have going for them.

Christy W.

Yelp
First time here and i'm impressed. Amazing burgers and the funnel cakes are really good!! Homemade fry's and chips !

Blaney E.

Yelp
Overall pretty good . My wife had the Spark Plugs (pork tenderloins stuffed jalapeños) and I had the Cadillac burger. My wife said that while hers had good flavor, the pork was dry. Her onion strings were very good. My burger was good, not great. The biggest issue is the they don't have enough wait staff. A common problem these days. The staff is friendly and helpful just overwhelmed. We will come back as they have some interesting things on the menu and it is a cool theme.

Troy B.

Yelp
So this is a fun kind of place right on the corner of the square. Arguably the most happening real estate as far being able to see everything happening on the square. The make their ranch dressing themselves and the super fresh dip goes great with their onion strings ( not really rings ) and the crazy good fried pickles. They have a homemade beef chili for their hotdogs and the best, if not the fanciest dish they have is the bacon wrapped tenderloin. Sticking with the filling station theme, which it once was, They call the spark plugs. They are sweetened with a homemade pineapple glaze and heated with a sliver of jalapeño. The quality of meat is very good and their bacon is not of a cheap brand. Good stuff for sure Troybrewer.com

Tammy B.

Yelp
I probably won't be back. Except maybe for beer and fried pickles. The service was less than friendly; no greeting on entry. The waitress who seated me left me waiting for 5 minutes without even offering to get me a drink even tho they were slow, before my waitress finally got over to me. Whatever happened to going above and beyond ?? Mediocre food. Flies. Flies. Flies. I hate flies. I was shooing them away through the entire meal. In the indoor dining room.

Brad S.

Yelp
It just took so damn long to get our food. When it finally arrived we had to scarf it down so my wife could get back to work. Nothing special about our order but apparently they needed 45 minutes to prepare it. We won't be back. So many other places close by that will get my business.

Shanon M.

Yelp
Huge amounts of food and it's hot a good. On the square and you can sit outside. The inside dinning is a small space but still very figure and nice.

Ransom A.

Yelp
Sadly, since Jerry H. sold out about a year ago, food and service have slowly gone down. The new owners have raised prices and changed the names of all the popular dishes and added new entrees that would be more at home in an upscale DFW restaurant. The former "Coup D'Ville" grilled chicken breast bears little resemblance to the former great dish. The new catfish dish was, well, mostly decoration and not to be ordered again, especially at the price. Service was barely two stars but I think that was our luck of the draw. Have now put The Fillin Station on our "Do Not Return" list...

Justin R.

Yelp
You can go for burgers but you MUST stay for dessert(s)! We actually ate elsewhere by mistake and came here for their Brake Lights(unique dessert fried peaches) and the Oil and Filter. Both were so delicious... I had to immediately give this place the review it deserves. Our waiter, Derek was the sweetest guy and the atmosphere was fun retro, with huge beautiful windows and a large corner patio-prime view of the square. Can't say enough good things about Fillin' Station. But we wish we had come here for our meal. A gem.

Leigh F.

Yelp
Great service and good burgers. Took very little time for our order to get to the table. If you sit outside though, expect some downtown noise. People with loud vehicles love to circle around and be heard.
