Great local pub with fantastic food. We had the pub burger, patty melt, and curry bowl. Everything was tasty, and our server, Angel C, was exceptional. Give this place a try!

If you haven't been to Firkin's yet then you're missing out! Great service and some of the best bar food I've had in a loooong time! Service: 10/10 I'm one that always sits at the bar, it's just more prompt service in my opinion. I came during an early afternoon on a Friday and it was empty other than 2 parties that were also sitting at the bar. I sat down and was greeted within 5 minutes and offered a drink. My bartender was very kind, patient, knowledgeable of the menu and great at recommending menu items. Ambience: 10/10 It doesn't take much to impress me so the brick interior and wood finishes stirred up a warmth within me and made me stay when I saw how empty it was (there were two parties of two people there), because a low turn out usually means the place isn't the best, not with this establishment fortunately! Simple and clean, I would trust eating here. Overall this establishment has very simple decor, but feels welcoming. Food: 9/10 Fried zucchini is a hit! Seasoned and fried to perfection, each bite just melted in my mouth. This will be my go to when I come back in the future. Wings were ok, if they start to offer dry rub options I would definitely come here just for the wings and beer! The wings were cooked great and maintained their succulent juices, but I'm more into naked or dry rubs and the fact that the wings had zero flavor ruined the experience for me. I also tried their vegan ranch and to be honest the taste is great! But I don't care for how watered down the ranch is. The heart cake is a big no for me. I tried the one piece side option and overall I couldn't wrap my taste buds around it. The taste was too powdery for me and the cake did not go well with the tartar sauce it was paired with. The pickled onions did give it some life, but not enough to make me want it ever again. The clam chowder is amazing!!! It's a strong second in the best clam chowders I've ever had and that's only because I've had clam chowder at the San Francisco pier. There is a herb that I could taste, but can't figure out what it is! It keeps this chowder from ruling the number one place on my personal chowder chart, but wasn't enough to ruin the whole experience. The soup and bread (OMG the bread!) was simply the best part of my Firkin experience! I tried a guava wheat beer and it was surprisingly tasty! I normally don't enjoy can beers, but I enjoyed this one very much! I then ordered the LB beer lab blonde they had on tap and enjoyed that one as well, but I love blondes in general so I may be biased. I will definitely come back here! This has been the best bar food I've had in such a long time.

Not really open until 10 always. Was super excited to try it after spending hours trying to find a place my friend was okay with. Just wanted a quick bite. I guess if they are slow they close as early as 9. Made me think of all the nights I had to stay open until the posted time because the restaurant owners I worked for didn't want to put '11 or until close M-W' as I suggested, because they didn't want people to show up and see me cleaning behind locked doors. I don't mind if it has to happen for financial reasons, just list the end time as 'until close'

The quintessential neighborhood pub. You're going to find great food, drinks and atmosphere. My wife is vegan and can always find some good options.

As a vegetarian, I was super excited to try The Firkin because of all their vegetarian dishes and they did not disappoint! My favorite dish was the Buffalo cauliflower which I could have eaten all night. The bread was good to, if different, and my main meal was light but filling. I had the Parmesan salmon with veggies and even the vegetables were nice and tasty! The best part about The Firkin may just be their patio. It is so charming and dog friendly!

The Firkin is fantastic. They have done slight upgrades to the restaurant to give it a more modern feel, which has improved it a lot! The outside patio has been remodeled to look more modern and it’s much better now. The food and service is just as great and you still get the same pub vibe. I’ll be glad to come back.

Great atmosphere! Outside and inside seating, with a nice selection of draft and bottled beers. The most impressive part to me is the food menu. A huge selection of food, with about half available for vegans! I got all vegan food and it was delicious, but if you're with omnivores there's plenty to eat for them as well. A great, local pub, will definitely be back.

Service is great!! Atmosphere is awesome!! But the food was horribly horribly toxic. Just an FYI. Liquid smoke is not meant to be used the way the cook is using it. Wayyyyy too much. Absolutely disgusting food.

Really tasty! The outdoor garden is lovely! Bundle up in layers if you go out on a chilly day or night. My boyfriend and I enjoy coming here. When his parents visit from Santa Cruz, they do love this place too. The servers and bartenders are very kind to us. We would order a burger and its so delicious. Someone in our group ordered fish and chips and wished they ordered the burger instead so... just putting that out there. Burgers are 10/10. Beer is tasty af. Don't drink and drive but its worth to come in for a beer if you drink safely

Came for breakfast. My friend ordered an iced tea. It was awful so she went to the bar and asked for a San pellegrino. Neither of us said anything about the tea to staff. They said they were out of San pellegrino so she asked for a cranberry juice instead. The bartender gave her cranberry juice in a shot glass and said, "I thought you wanted a mimosa" which makes no sense, especially after he poured cranberry juice, albeit in a shot glass. He then pours her the juice in a regular glass. The whole interaction was insulting, and weird. Bullying for what? Again neither of us said anything about the iced tea being bad. Our food took an hour to come out. The potatoes weren't salted. We got toast but no butter, we didn't have silverware until 15 min after our food came out and it was just forks, no spoon or knife. We are both pretty quiet and non confrontational people. I would've left it alone and not written this review but for the bartenders behavior towards my friend. It was unprovoked and left her feeling confused and hurt.

Came from Rancho Cucamonga with 30 minutes before my appointment, needed a quick bite and found this place. Hard to find street parking but, I got lucky. Although a little dark, I walked to the back towards the patio seating. Staff was friendly and helpful. I explained I needed a quick lunch. I wish I was more hungry cause their recommendations looks good. I settled for snacking style lunch: zucchini sticks and cod fish and chips. They came out hot and crispy. I really with I could have enjoyed a nice cold beer with the food. If I have to drive out there again, I would be happy to try more of their menu.

The service was great, plus it had nice atmosphere to it. Adorable outdoor patio with fires to sit close to if you're cold. Everything was delicious, the fish and chips were amazing. The drinks I ordered were very well balanced and not super sweet. I can't wait to go back again soon

Good Irish Pub in Belmont Heights just East of Redondo on Broadway. The old EJ Malloy's spot close to the Attic. Street parking only. The bar and the service are great. They have a nice outdoor patio with a gas fire pit. You can bring your dog. I just took one start off because the food is lacking some. The glazed brussels sprouts were great 10/10! Cooked very well with a nice house glaze. The burger had fresh meat and good flavor 8/10. But the French fries were hard and flavorless, like they had been sitting under a light for an hour 2/10. I don't know how someone spent time preparing a beautiful burger and put those old hard fries on the plate with it. The prices are good here too. Our waiter Lee was a 10/10.

I love a good pub and this place did not disappoint. From the vibe, excellent service right down to the food...it was fantastic. I'm vegan so I was so happy to see they offered so many vegan options. I ordered their vegan burger with fries and the burger was AMAZING because it had a nice crispy char around the edges. Thinking of it now makes me want to head there right now. I ordered the burger with a slice of vegan cheese but they ran out so they subbed it with their house made cheese sauce which was a happy accident because it was so good! I think they said they make it with potato and cashew? It also made a good dipping sauce for my fries which were also good. Our waiter and the bartender were great. If they saw a drink was down they'd come over and ask if we'd like another, checked up on us, apologetic when they ran out of the cheese and just overall very good customer service. We chose to sit inside because we had just come from spending the day in the hot sun so we needed that ac. Did take a look at their patio and it was super cute. We'll definitely return!

We came to this pub after eating our dinner. We joined the trivia night which was fun even though we didn't win. I ordered a mimosa with guava juice and it honestly wasn't good but that's what I get for ordering a mimosa at a pub. I ordered cauliflower wings which were actually pretty good. Cool place to bar hop to.

Everyone was very friendly! And the drinks were really good! I hope to come back here again the next time I visit Long Beach!

I liked this place a lot. You walk by it and it looks like an old "main street style" store with a lot of windows and a wood and window frame with the Firkin name etched on. Going in, it looks like a old school bar with a lot of wooden accents all over. I loved the tennis stuff because that's one of my favorites to watch. The group I was at sat at the back where they had four TVs in a square. It reminded me of one of those pizza joints. Getting to the drinks, they had TrustedGut's blonde and I enjoyed that. We tried the buffalo wings and fries and both of them were good. The zucchini sticks were very unusual but the waitress got our concerns and kept it off the bill. The ranch was quite watery so I hope they fix that because it barely stuck to the veggies let alone the wings. We eventually did sit outside where it was nice and the chairs had pillows and such. My girlfriend had gin and tonic. After trying them, it was pretty good. I will definitely come back to try a burger and maybe a sandwich.

Second visit, and it was a 5 star experience once again. Like the previous visit, they seemed very short staffed, but again, we received great service. This time, my wife got the fish and chips and I got the fried chicken sandwich. The fish n chips were the panko type and not battered, but it was crunchy AF. The fish was light and flaky, and it was all around very solid. If there was a little complaint, the thick fries were not crispy at all. As for the chicken sandwich, it was crunchy and flavorful, but the chicken could be bigger. The fries were the skinny, crispy kind and it was as good as I remembered. We love this place, but they have a small menu, so, we hope to see some new additions or specials. Check it out.

I 100% recommend this place!! Found it accidentally after a walk on the bluff park. I wanted to find a place with nice brews and an outdoor patio that allowed dogs. This place checked all of the marks for me. They have a beautiful outdoor space with first come first serve seating. It is very pet friendly and they even give you water bowls for them. We ordered the house michelada, this really tasty cider type beer that our server recommended; both were really good! The highlight had to be the food though - Steak fries with spicy adobo sauce: 10/10 I had never tried adobo before and it was delightful. Beer battered buffalo cauliflower: 10/10 so crispy and well made. We absolutely loved it. Overall, as I said, I would 100% recommend this place for a date night or a friends night out!

Don't ever order COD Fish/Chips from this place!! The fish was greasy & it was several small/bite size pieces with cold fries! It left horrible taste in our mouth rest of evening! Drinks were excellent.

Amazing wings, kind staff. Went there twenty minutes before their kitchen closed (accidentally) a few weeks ago and they were still very kind and accommodating. Food was amazing. Wings are top tier, and I'm a wing snob Buffalo wings are top tier (I love wings; I went on a trip to buffalo last year just to explore all of the greats). Great sauce, nice and crispy, good quality meat. Entrees we tried were French dip (yummy, but only try if you're into the smoked meat flavors) and the patty melt (insanely good, comes on rye, which was a first for me). Really good service and kind staff even though we came 20 minutes before kitchen close. Mostly leaving this review bc I wanted to show you guys more pics of their food

A review that is several months overdue: High praise for our server and kitchen staff tonight! We had made and confirmed arrangements two weeks ahead for our very large party to reserve the patio. Served us all with grace, calm, and precision. Our server was phenomenal and our food was delicious! Thank you!

Great atmosphere with plenty of seating. The menu has a great selection of vegan and non vegan items - something for everyone! The portions are great, delicious, and filling.

My son got his certification so we went to celebrate because he loves the chicken tenders. Definitely a pub feeling. We were served in no time and the service was attentive. The menu is American with quite a few vegan dishes and substitutes. This place came highly recommended and deserves every rave review it gets. The food was generous and superbly done. I did love the pub ambiance and the local feel. Gotta check this place out!

I used to live near this spot in Bel Heights. Have since moved away but take the time to visit. Full bar with killer tap choices. Staff are laid back and attentive. Patio for the doggies. The menu is my favorite part because of the vegetarian options and attention to protein options. If you want to feel like your in a neighborhood bar, then this is your place.

I've always wanted to give The Firkin a chance for food because I only ever found myself there for drinks while waiting for a table to open up at the Attic. Well I finally made it for dinner and I'm very pleased that I have a new spot to regularly frequent so close to where I live. My go-to meal in life is a french dip and that's what I decided to order. It was pretty good, I would definitely order it again. The inside has super cool pub vibes but I really enjoy the super inviting outdoor patio. This spot is also a great place to watch a game as well. The top reason this spots get 5 stars though, is the super friendly, helpful, and efficient staff. They're amazing and definitely make this spot feel like a neighborhood bar for locals and visitors alike.

Great place to have some cocktails while being able to enjoy a conversation. The food is great as well. My favorite dish is the Nashville chicken sandwich, steak fries are a MUST! They have indoor and outdoor seating. Service is great.

There were 12 of us. 3 families of four but we sat at different tables and ordered on separate checks, but they added 20% gratuity for "large party" to each check eventhough we didn't sat nor ordered together. We even talked to what appeared to be the manager, but they refused. Won't go back. And tbh, the food is not that great.

The food, service and ambiance is great here. We love to walk our dogs down to Broadway and sit on their patio. My friend and shared the green goddess salad with salmon and the impossible burger. Perfect amount with a nice glass of Chardonnay. Perfect early dinner with a nice long walk.

Visited this spot on Sunday 11/19, and the whole place was pretty busy. We sat at the bar and I could see how hard and efficiently all the workers including those in the kitchen were handling the rush. I really appreciate how great they were all able to work together as a team to provide exceptional service to their customers. The food was fresh and delicious, I'm definitely coming back for the fish and chips. The fish breading is amazing, no sogginess to it at all. Our server/bartender whose name I didn't get but he has curly hair and wears glasses, made me the best lemon drop ever. He even went out of his way to grab sugar packets from the kitchen to put a sugar rim on the glass. Something small but very thoughtful also considering how busy it was. And as I had mentioned, the best tasting lemon drop I've had also. It was frothy to the point that it was almost creamy and so well balanced. We've been here probably 2 or 3 times in the past but after this last visit we will surely make more of an effort to come more often!

I'm currently here at the firkin now and I'm pretty disappointed to leave this review, last time I was here the food was great. Today the food is incredibly terrible. I'm so bummed because I brought my best friend here and they served her bland food lacking all flavor, even salt. I got fish and chips and the were fishless. WHERES THR FISH BROTHER? Brother ugh. Anyway... sad to report this but I gotta be honest. Our server was nice tho.

Great place, great food wonderful people that work here. Their prices are reasonable and their portions are correct. This is always our go-to place at night if we need to go get something to eat And don't have the time. I might add their lunch and breakfast are amazing too as well as bottomless mimosas. Great place to watch sports nice warm atmosphere and they have outdoor seating. We often order out for takeout as we are busy professionals.

Just discovered this cool hangout when my buddy and I had tired of the same old places around town. Good looking bar. Great courtyard seating. And the drinks were tasty.

I had a birthday party on the patio and the experience was fantastic. Their pricing for a special event was reasonable and their event manager, Mia, was very easy to work with. She guided me in laying out food and drink items that would accommodate my guests' needs and my budget. The patio itself has a nice atmosphere -- cozy and well-kept without being too divey or too posh. The food was fantastic as usual and our server, Lee, did an excellent job. My guests complimented my choice of restaurant. And we all had a wonderful time! Couldn't have asked for a better day.

We had a Firkin good time at the Firkin. It's a small little pub in Belmont Heights with a "beer garden" which is basically just a small enclosed patio, but it's still awesome. I would consider their pub fare to be less traditional but more gastro pub with lots of interesting choices. Also, although you're more inclined to grab a cold one here, they do have a bar but limited selections so don't expect a wide range of choices (86 on the Tito's). Service was great, so at the end of the day we would definitely be back.

I firkin love this place. The firkin fries are excellent and and just had three firkin pounds of wings with all the sauces on the side. Unfirkin believable. Great firkin drink selection!!!! Now go firk yourself.

Great deal on mimosas, great food and a hardworking wait staff. Cannot say enough about how great this place is. It should be an Lb staple. The World Cup here is also a good time. If you're coming for the bottomless mimosas at $14, come prepared, they're heavy handed. Shout out to our waiter Lee, dude was handling so many tables and making sure to hit them all in stride. Came in last week and had a beer and burger with tots. Bartender couldn't have been cooler. Beer was cold and good and so was the food. I'm gonna come and handy out more!

Every time I stop by here, and I always get the fish and chips I always get a variety of the appetizers. They are the best along with a tall, cold beer, and you will mot be disappointed. also, the staff are super friendly.

New to the area, popped in, and think I found my fave joint .. .. Lots of TVs along the bar and a neat patio out back with a lot of TVs, too! Tried their CURRY BOWL w/ Tofu and it was terrific .. .. Curry was just as good as you would find anywhere and the seared tofu was the best I've had and I was raised on tofu .. .. Anxious to come back (often) and try everything they have on their Asian-leaning menu .. .. They even have a Bangers & Mash that was whispering to me!
