43 Best Hotels in Rome of 2024

"Located on the banks of Tiber, The First Musica stands out from Prati’s grand old palazzos with its modern, cubist design. While the mid-century palazzo was originally designed by esteemed Roman architect Mario Docci, it’s been given a facelift by Studio Marincola, who have brought plenty of light into the concrete building through big, oversized windows. The upscale location of Prati is perfect for people watching—it's one of Rome's smartest neighborhoods. The hotel’s clientele are young and deep pocketed, who work hard and play hard–appreciative of both the big, modernist artworks in the rooms by day, and the DJ sets in the lobby by night." - Maresa Manara

The First Musica by The Pavilions Hotels & Resorts

"Why book? An elegant new addition to Rome’s riverside, celebrating the city’s finest art, music and gastronomy Set the scene Located on the banks of Tiber, The First Musica stands out from Prati’s grand old palazzos with its modern, cubist design. While the mid-century palazzo was originally designed by esteemed Roman architect Mario Docci, it’s been given a facelift by Studio Marincola, who have brought plenty of light into the concrete building through big, oversized windows. The location itself is perfect for people watching: cultured Romans walking along the river, cashmere sweaters slung over their shoulders. The hotel’s clientele is young and deep pocketed, who work hard and play hard–appreciative of both the big, modernist artworks in the rooms by day, and the rooftop aperitivo and weekend DJ sets by night. The backstory The First Musica completes The Pavilions Hotels and Resorts triptych of urban resorts in Rome (they also run The First Arte and The First Dolce). The rooms There are just 24 rooms and suites here, all with muted décor: dark walls and big, abstract artworks. Furnishings, too, are dark with smart brass accents – but happily, the floor-to-ceiling windows bring in plenty of light. Bathrooms are big and marble, with rain showers and Bang & Olufsen speakers so you never need to be without music. Food and drink It feels like a rooftop restaurant is mandatory for new Rome hotels, and The First Musica is no exception. Guests can head to Alto, the hotel’s restaurant and cocktail bar, (spread across three floors, including the rooftop), for signature seafood delights from Daniele Lippi (of Acquolina fame) and Matteo Cavoli: shrimp carpaccio with berries and rucola, scallops with Parma ham and sage, lobster taglioni and perfectly fried fish of the day. Finish the night off with a cocktail on the rooftop overlooking Rome. The neighborhood/area Upscale Prati is one of Rome’s smartest neighborhoods, full of beautiful old palazzi and within walking distance to the city’s best sights (it’s a 6-minute walk to Piazza del Popolo). Rome’s modern Ara Pacis Museum is close by, almost directly opposite the hotel, on the other side of the Tiber. The service The staff are laid-back but easily approachable, eager to help without being intrusive. Even the most unexpected requests – like whether we could borrow their candles and table décor for an upcoming film shoot – didn’t faze them." - Maresa Manara

I recently had the pleasure staying at The First Musica in Rome with my partner and it was an exceptional experience. The location along the Tiber River made it the perfect base for exploring the city's iconic attractions. The staff went above and beyond to ensure we had a pleasant stay. They were friendly, attentive and always willing to assist with any request we had including tours, restaurant bookings and transportation. The service provided truly enhanced our stay. We loved the design of the hotel, especially our room. The room was very spacious with floor to ceiling windows and the bed was so comfortable! I highly recommend staying at The First Musica to anyone seeking a luxurious and comfortable stay in Rome with outstanding service. We agreed if we plan to return to Rome in the future, we will be picking this hotel.

We had a magnificent stay the the First Musica Hotel. The hotel exceeded our expectations and we were very satisfied throughout our stay. The staff at the front desk were very accomodating, helpful and they made our stay very personalised. The rooms were spacious, light, clean and modern. The housekeeping was very tidy. I would encourage anyone considering staying at this hotel to book a stay at the First Musica. You won't regret it! I will be back again. Thank you to Daniela, Stefano and everyone who made our stay enjoyable.

Hello, I am Elena Popadia. I stayed at your hotel for a few days in February and accidentally left my Dyson straightener there. When I contacted the hotel the next day, I was told it couldn’t be found. However, I am absolutely certain that I left it there. Unfortunately, there is theft happening at this hotel. Be careful with your valuables so you don’t become a victim like I did.

5 stars across the board! I brought my grandmother to Rome For her 78th birthday - I extensively Researched for cleanliness and location - I was not disappointed in anyway. When I first arrived, we were told our room was Upgraded right away, made our stay instantly more enjoyable. It was large, clean Comfortable seating area and the bed was so comfy you practically melt inside Very luxurious. The bathroom was designed very gorgeous and Practical. Now onto the staff… Everyone at that hotel took so much time and was genuinely very helpful. So polite I have stayed in many five star hotels Across the world and the staff was just so sincerely nice and kind. For my grandmother’s birthday, they surprised her with a bottle of Prosecco and a lovely fruit tart. They really went above and beyond such incredible hospitality. I found the location for the hotel spectacular as well as it was not in a busy or loud area - Even with the restaurant and bar Within the hotel, we slept comfortably throughout the night. I will recommend this hotel and would stay here again I am also looking forward to trying other hotels in chain. Thank you to everyone who made our stay remarkable.

From the moment we entered we experienced nothing but exceptional service and atmosphere! Welcomed with a glass of Prosecco during check-in which was quick and easy ( a pleasure after 11+ hours of travel). The room was immaculate with plenty of space and amenities. Close to many restaurants and easy access to sites. After a long day of touring the Sky Bar was yet another delight to end our evenings, excellent service, music, atmosphere, and wine. Overall we could not have been happier with out stay! Thanks to the hotel and staff for being such gracious hosts!

Such a great, beautiful, CLEAN hotel! Staff is absolutely amazing. We loved our room here so much. The only thing about this place is there is no where to pull to the side when showing up to the hotel so be sure to call when you turn onto the street to have someone outside for you ready to get your bags out and take the car to park it immediately, or you will have a line of cars beeping at you! The driving in Rome is very very hectic so walk everywhere! Restaurant attached was just ok, I would venture out but the staff was extremely kind as well! Definitely will be back!

I stayed at the First Musica Hotel in Rome for 3 nights, and it was fantastic. The staff went out of their way to accommodate every request I had. They were super helpful with recommending great restaurants and assisting with bookings. We truly felt at home. The rooms are nice, well-decorated, and have everything you might need. It's clear they put a lot of thought into making guests comfortable. This is definitely the only hotel I’d stay at in Rome. Highly recommend it to anyone visiting!

I should have given 6 stars for service but still. I have stayed at hotel Firstly the hotel is clean as possible. Location is great and central enough for you to walk around. Parking is about 100-150 meters away. Material shampoos and etc is top notch ( I think fendi with a great smell) I should specifically mention I have forgotten my passport there and they tried everyway to help me. Even the box they put into shows they care about their job. After 3 days they still asked about if there is any problem about my delivery. So after all I cannot imagine there is a better hotel in Rome in any aspect. Thank you guys again. See you again when I come there
