Made a reservation but ended up not needing. Walked in and we were immediately seated. Staff members were super friendly and helpful. Appetizers were nicely plated and fresh. Water glasses were always refilled without even needing to ask. Staff gave great cocktail recommendations. Our entrees came out piping hot. Great portion sizes. Everything was awesome and super tasty. We'll definitely recommend The Fish Company to friends and family. 2 thumbs up.

Google
I had the seafood gumbo and we shared key lime pie which was big enough for three people. Everything that they served was fresh and delicious. Our waiter, Bennett was knowledgeable and professional an attentive to our needs. I definitely will go back.

The staff was playful and pleasant. The restaurant is decorated very well for a fish place! It doesn't smell like fish when yu ou hit the door. The noise level wasn't too loud. It’s very pretty on the inside with low playing music. Kind of trips you out when you go to the bathroom and hear the weather broadcast for all the areas. THE FOOD We ordered calamari appitizer and the waitress told us that its cut into strings not circular. The breading was heavy to when you bite into it you are left with some breading because all the calamari stayed together. We also ordered the shrimp and grits. THEY HAVE OPTIONS you can have the sauce be really spicy, mild, or the way it comes. For the one the way it comes the heat can stack up. For me I got my medium sauce put on the side. It tasted fine without it, but it was a great compliment! The service was fa water t the place wasn't swamped for lunch. This was a great find!

Only cold water oysters around in July/Aug. What a difference! Excellent food, been here 5 times already. Best in Jax Bch.

Google
They need to get the employees together and compare notes on company policy. I was there on Monday and ordered the Mayport shrimp special. It was tasty, so I ordered a second one but said to hold the fries & slaw. It was tasty. I went back again yesterday (Wednesday) and ordered the same thing. This time it came out with a used lemon slice on the plate. I wanted one for takeout for my dad, since at 94 he doesn’t get out much. The waiter said that they don’t let people order the special to go and they have a rule of one special per person per table. Really?

Google
Service is great. Atmosphere is comfortable. The food is amazing. If you leave here hungry, you absolutely did something wrong.

Google
Highly impressed with this place. The service is incredible; very well-mannered, attentive, and friendly. I search for good seafood anywhere I go, and Fish Co. has been the best seafood experience I've ever had...and I'm from Maine. I've ordered twice and I was very happy with the salmon and the tuna. (The seared tuna was absolutely next level.)

Google
Great seafood, we had shrimp and grits with sausage, and grilled fish. Both were excellent. We will return next time at Jax Beach.

Yelp
Everything was great and Marian was sweet and served me very well She was fantastic First time in Jville and I will be back

Yelp
The flounder was very good n flavorful and the green beans had a great flavor. The gumbo was very good but it needed a little bit more rice. The server did a great job she was very attentive and didn't miss anything. The decor was great. We enjoyed the patio.

Yelp
Fish Co is the go to for fresh seafare from local catch, oysters, scallops, crab and when in season best place in Jax to get Stone Crabs!! The sides all can hold their own from the Spinach w/miso dressing, cheese grits, slaw, Caesar salad, & hush-puppies will hush your puppy lol. The pasta dishes are divine with your choice of seafood added too. Beverages are excellent and a nice pour-check out the happy hour menu too. Service at the tables or bar tops are always friendly and full of knowledge and a fantastic representation of what the owners envisioned. The Key Lime ‍ pie is hands down the Best in Jax ... you'd have to travel to So Fla or the Keys to find anything comparable ... it's a must get even if you just take it home after filling up on the lunch or dinner. In fact I wonder if they sell whole pies at holiday time? I may have to inquire. The atmosphere is casually elevated and when the weather allows outside areas are fun as well. Kudos to this great Beach venue!! Always a "Go-to"!!

Yelp
No resy so sat at the bar. Great bartender. Great service. Even tho it's July we had fresh oysters anyway! They were from Virginia, cold and tasty. Can't beat the $10 fried Mayport Shrimp dinner the monthly of July! Get yours...quick! Delish!

Yelp
Friends invited us out to try this restaurant on Valentine's Day which normally I wouldn't recommend cause they would be crazy busy, but we got a late night reservation and came in. Our server was excellent! Really welcoming and sweet, which I loved. Now to the food, it was delicious! Everything we tried I liked! I ended up doing their valentines special which was an app, entree and dessert for $40. Loved the crab stuffed shrimp, loved the chicken dish, chicken cooked perfectly! Not dry at all! Dessert was good. Would definitely come back to try more!

Yelp
In town for a cycling event and this spot was recommended. The shrimp and grits were very flavorful. The steamed crab legs could have used some additional seasonings but steamed well. The shrimp Alfredo was average and the crab cake had too much fillers. The customer service was great and we were greeted immediately. We sat at the bar and she was super nice.

Yelp
The fish company is one of the best seafood options in Jax. I brought family here and everyone was quite pleased with their food the key lime pie is a must! Their oysters are great. I tried the sesame tuna and I wish it came out a little warmer. I also would not get the fried spinach that it came with again. I didn't know what to expect but while it was flavorful it seemed to take away the point of having a veggie with your meal since it was very oily. That was my bad for not asking what it was exactly.

Yelp
What a lovely restaurant! My boyfriend and I dined here. The catch of the day was flounder so I opted for that (grilled) and got a choice of 2 sides. He got the shrimp and grits. We both enjoyed our meals tremendously and will definitely return! Our server was super sweet and very informed on the menu and the options they had. Reasonably priced as well. There was also seating options outside and it appears that they do allow dogs on the patio. I would definitely recommend coming here!

Yelp
This is my moms favorite restaurant so for her birthday our family 6 adults, and 2 children went for a very nice dinner! We made a reservation online and the table was ready when we arrived. They sat us in the room with the fish! My 3 & 5 yo boys loved it! Best seats in the house! They were happy to get Mac n cheese and fried shrimp for dinner. The service was quick! The drink specials were included at the dinner table on a Saturday night which was a surprise. I got the AB seafood salad which is sooo good - loaded with shrimp, fish and scallops and a homemade vinaigrette! We started off with the oysters Rockefeller and scallops appetizer. The $5 margaritas were tasty! Overall, great experience! The whole family enjoyed the dinner and the kids were entertained.

Yelp
This is THAT spot. Honestly, favorite seafood restaurant in JAX so far. Laidback service, down-to-earth vibes, and delicious/well-balanced meal portions. Suggestions: smoked fish dip for appetizer, blackened salmon/wahoo with grilled spinach cheesecake + green bean medley for main meal. Haven't tried the key lime pie yet, but heard it's essentially the key to the kingdom.

Yelp
Great atmosphere and food....date night delight! Special but affordable; enjoyed seating at the bar.

Yelp
Nice quiet restaurant that I had no idea I needed to check out. The waitress was very sweet. They do not skimp on the food portions and everything was very well seasoned.

Yelp
One of my favorite places to get oysters in Jax. A dozen is about $15 (I think) and everything else on the menu is very well priced. The shrimp and grits is one of the best shrimp and grits I've had. The grits are super creamy and well seasoned. They have great fries (super crispy) and shrimp. The service was also amazing. Our server Elena was so sweet and attentive. I wasn't sure which soup I wanted so she offered (without me asking) to bring out a small sample for me to try. I ended with the creamy crab soup but the other one was more broth based but was also really good too. Couldn't recommend this place more. Great food and great service will always keep me coming back.

Yelp
After 5 years we made our return, the food wasn't as good as the last time we came. The food was just ok, it wasn't as tasty as I remembered. The service was good, the waitress was attentive. The ambiance was chill the vibe was cool, we enjoyed it. 4 stars, we will come back and try it out again.
google avatar

Yelp
Food was great but service not so much. Not accommodating for gluten free ordering. The server didn't seem to care.
google avatar

Yelp
$$$ The lunch service was excellent. The atmosphere is what one might expect. The Pan Seared Scallops were good but wanting more glaze. The Red Beans and Rice, homemade with good flavor. I was a little disappointed with the Blackened Chilean Sea Bass. More like Browned and the Bass though tender was slightly oily. We did enjoy the hush puppies. Topping off with a homemade Key lime Pie I have to say was the best part of the meal. Overall, you won't be disappointed if you choose The Fish Co. 3.9 Stars only because I was disappointed in the SeaBass.

Yelp
I haven't been here since I moved from FL 12 years ago! But I used to be a regular, so, naturally when I was coming back to the beach, I had to stop here! It was exactly how I remembered! Food was absolutely delicious & oh so fresh! The table split oysters, crawfish, loaded potatoes, and key lime pie. Nothing disappointed! Cocktails were good also. I'll be back & it won't take me 12 years this time!

Yelp
Fried chicken at a seafood company? YES! We've had multiple friends ask "have you tried their fried chicken?" And I thought they were joking. They are not. While Fish Company's seafood is great, with huge portions and decently seasoned. Their standout is their fried chicken. Their chicken is well seasoned with a dry rub, marinated and perfectly fried. It's not well known but it should be. The restaurant is bigger than it looks, has a large bar and plenty of larger tables for big groups. Attentive staff and a decent size menu to choose whatever you like. They run seasonal specials for drinks and food, I'm not sure if this changes monthly or weekly but can say their summer drinks are well thought out and deliciously made.

Yelp
2nd time at this location. Food was great. Service was very good. Despite being busy our food arrived quickly. All items ordered were fresh and cooked perfectly. Will goagain soon.

Yelp
This is a fantastic seafood restaurant. One of our favorite things to get is the oysters but you can't go wrong with anything on the menu, their food is delicious and fresh. Our waiter was efficient and friendly. It does get kind of busy the closer to dinner time it gets so it's a little loud but never interferes with my dining experience. I recommend!!!!

Yelp
We were here on a Wednesday night and the place was packed. We settled in for a wait for a table. The Oysters and sea scallops were really good. We had a salad as a starter with a very unique home made dressing. The service was outstanding. We were very pleased to find this gem of place.

Tariq S.

Yelp
We didn't want to wait in line for dockside. So we looks for another seafood restaurant and found the fish company. What a pleasant surprise. The food, the portions and service was great. We ordered cod, tuna shrimp and a burger. Everything tasted delicious and the prices were reasonable. Will be back when we are in Jacksonville next time.

Yelp
In 17 years we have never had a bad meal or experience there. Servers are experienced and excellent. Bar is excellent. Try the fish dip, red beans and shrimp and key lime pie. The pie is made there. This is our go to place. A true "locals" place.

Yelp
The experience was so WONDERFUL! This is a great lunch date or dinner date option. Come one ,come all from dates, bromance, girlfriend dates ...whatever. This was my first visit, our host Shanicka was great! Personable yet professional. Our server Jessica made great recommendations, was attentive and very knowledgeable. I enjoyed the experience so much so that we called Blake the manager over to compliment him on everything from staff to store cleanliness and ambiance. I will return! *cheers*

Yelp
Went for lunch , the 3 girls at the front were all chatting and didn't even acknowledge us , there was a waitress that walked over and greeted us seated us and was our waitress she was great . Now for the 2 stars ordered the grouper sandwich with fries never in a million years would I think a piece of fish on a regular bun and frozen crinkle fries would be $29 (no price on menu) absolutely crazy ! Should tell people the price when ordering before people get a shock of what we thought would be a 35-38 lunch was actually 52 plus a tip ..........

Yelp
The food was good. We're coming back tomorrow. The oysters were fresh but t a little small. Our server made up for it..

Yelp
Stopped by here a couple weeks ago for the first time and will most definitely be returning. The hostess (don't know her name) was so sweet and let me know about what is good on the menu and how great the specials were. Our server (don't know his name either) was very attentive, nice, and knew the menu front and back. The food was off the chain! Oysters were big and juicy and cheaper than what I'm used to! The she crab soup special was amazing (I thanked the host for the recommendation). My boyfriend got the blackened mahi and grits I had a couple bites but I should've ordered my own lol. The booths are big and tall it felt like we were in our own little seafood world. The lighting was beautiful and the music wasn't too loud. The bathrooms were very clean. Love it here!

Yelp
This place was sooooo good! Don't let the fact that it's inside a strip mall fool you. The food can't be beat. Our waitress was exceptional and made our dining experience wonderful. I recommend this to anyone staying on the beach for vacation. If you want authentic, top notch, seafood, then this is the place to go!

Yelp
Have been wanting to try this establishment for some time, but it's kinda out of the way for me to just randomly go to. So when the ladies decided this where we would have dinner it was a finally I get to try it out thought. Things were going south really quickly from the moment I took a seat, as I was the last to arrive. The waitress was very pushy about getting our drinks and food order before we could even look at the menu. She never asked if we had been there before, if she would have maybe she would have given us a little time to get familiar with the menu. Now that we have that out of the way let's talk food. Every one ordered something different so I can't speak on the meals , but all plates were emptied so to me that was a hit! I ordered the fried shrimp meal that came with choices of sides. I chose the baked potato and coleslaw, I have yet to find a coleslaw I like as well as mine except Publix. The shrimp were really good and tender, the baked potato was nice and soft just the way I like it! Oh and there were hush puppies that were really tasty, should have gotten more of those! Oh well, next time. And there will be a next time! The place seemed busy, but not crowded or noisy. At the end of dinner our waitress was so much better, not sure what the issue was at the beginning. Now that I have a picture of the menu I can prepare myself for my next choice.

Yelp
The ambiance was nice, including a fish tank and set tables. The service was quick. The muscles were hands down the uttermost best! My party did not like the kids chicken tenders and the kids hot dog is gigantic. Most water at restaurants do not have taste, but the Fish Company's water had a weird taste to it. The shrimp cocktail was also excellent. If you want a quick dinner this will be a perfect place for you.

Yelp
Great spot for fresh seafood and friendly service. The key lime meringue pie is a must try!

Yelp
First time eating here and it was quite busy on a Friday. We had a 30 minute wait for a table but it was well worth the wait. Good quality seafood and well presented. Our server was great too.

Yelp
I was thoroughly impressed with this place. The hostess was cheerful and greeted us with a warm smile. I shared a dozen oysters, 1/2 order of the mussels, smoked fish dip and of course the key lime pie. The cocktail sauce is even amazing with a tangy, horseradish flavor. It went perfectly with the oysters. The mussels were delicious. I could have bathed in the broth. It was perfectly garlicky, with a hint of lemon and the right amount of salt. The smoked fish dip was smoky without being overwhelming and who knew fried crackers could be so good!! Then there was the perfect end to this meal. The key lime pie! The crust was buttery, the filling was zesty and creamy and the merengue on top was perfectly peaked and toasted.

Yelp
Stone crab season!!! The jumbos are so nice and meaty! My son is celebrating his UF graduation so he got a lb of Alaskan King crab also and was so very pleased with both variety. We also had trigger, mahi, Mayport shrimp, oysters on the half, oysters Rockefeller and omg lobster linguine to rave about. Since the ship had sailed we topped it off with the most decadent key lime pie! Did I mention how good the service was? Non-pretentious class is so wonderful. Thanks for staying true to your vibe!

Dottie S.

Yelp
Out of 4 local restaurants, The Fish Company fries oysters the best. My husband's crab cake sandwich was low on fillers, high on crab. I can't wait to go back.
google avatar

Rachelle S.

Yelp
Anytime I am wanting good oysters and seafood I think of Fish Company. The food is always amazing no matter what you order. Staff is super friendly and upbeat and you cannot beat the local vibe inside the restaurant. As a native I appreciate a local spot.

Yelp
Autumn is my favorite season. The cooler air that manages to dip below 70*, the AC unit thanking me for not running 24/7. But most of all, I love autumn because it's Stone Crab Claw season. It's a blink-and-you'll-miss-it time of the year only running for about a month or so from October to right around Thanksgiving. Today, we headed out to The Fish Company in Atlantic Beach to get my Stone Crab fix. We got a pound of the good stuff served ice cold with a side of house-made mustard sauce. The meat was tender, sweet, and delicious. For entrees I got the large order of mussels steamed in a white wine butter sauce finished with fresh basil and Asiago cheese. The unexpected star of the night was the seasonal fall Chef's Plate Special. It's four seared scallops on an apple and quinoa salad all sitting atop puréed butternut squash and topped with a drizzle of balsamic vinaigrette. This was fantastic. It tasted like a fall festival. The apple quinoa salad was particularly tasty with chucks of sweet, crunchy apples. I could eat a bowl of while curled up on the couch, wrapped in a fluffy throw blanket watching the next episode of You on Netflix.

Yelp
Aside from the long wait to always be seated, I love it here! Today we came out for the stone crab claws. It was my first time trying them. At $36/lb, it's a guilty pleasure. We got the Medium as word is that you get more meat to claw ratio;). The meat was sweet and served with a house mustard sauce that compliments them perfectly. I also ordered the chef's small plate. It looked like Fall on a plate. The taste was even better! Creamy butternut squash purée with a little balsamic was the base. The quinoa salad was Amazeballs!!!!!! Apples, raisins and blue cheese mixed in made my taste buds dance!!! Now the 4 large sea scallops were cooked perfectly and the taste of all the flavors were pinging around the mouth in rhythm of the best flavor palate ever! I'm really impressed with the dish because my last few trips were same old same. My compliments to the chef. I highly recommend this place and will definitely be coming back more often.

Yelp
Had never been to The Fish Company but had passed it a couple times and always got my interested so when I heard we we were going for Ashley's friends birthday I was excited to finally try them out. We were a little late to the party so most were already their when we arrived. Our waiter quickly noticed that were had just got there and asked if we wanted any drinks or appetizers. Of course being at the new place we had to get an appetizer and we went with the Fried Oysters since they are some of Ashley's and I's favorites. Our Fried Oysters came out pretty quickly and there were a good number of them. I they had a nice light batter. They are served with homemade cocktail sauce as well. I will say I'm not a huge fan of cocktail sauce but Once we had order apps our waiter made sure to drop off all their sauces. This includes cocktail, tarter, and my favorite remoulade. For my entrée I went with the Fresh Catch Fish Sandwich. The options that night with Trigger, Flounder, and Mahi. I of course went with the Mahi and got it blackened with fries ($16). Our server continued to check in on us and keep track of everything very well. Our food also came out pretty quickly which was also nice. I will say the piece of Mahi on my sandwich was pretty small which I was pretty surprise by based of the the sizes of have had at other seafood restaurants but it was at least seasoned well and did taste very fresh. I was also a little caught off that there was I piece of un-melted butter on top of the fish but it was a bad thing for me. I also tried some of Ashley's red beans and rice which seemed like they could have cooked a little longer but nothing a little hot sauce couldn't improve. I also tried her hushpuppies which were a little cold and didn't have much flavor at all but I just ended up dipping them in remoulade. All and all the food was good and would for sure come back but nothing really wowed me. I will say though our server is what really did it for us. Some of the food was 3 stars but he was for sure 5. He made sure to check up on all 15 of us throughout dinner. Keep our drinks full and had all the checks down correctly and on top of that was super friendly. Great job!

Yelp
This restaurant is about a mile away from the beach in a strip mall type atmosphere next to a couple of other restaurants. I plan to go to another restaurant but it was too busy and it also didn't have a bar that I can sit at The bar is clean with a very attentive staff with good drink selections and suggestions My main dish was a small plate consisting of triggerfish cheese wilted spinach and potatoes It was plenty for myself or certainly possibly an appetizer if more than one person was in the party Finally I had a slice of key lime pie It was absolutely delicious crust I think is a graham cracker type crust it's a little bit thicker than the average crust and along with a meringue whipped cream type topping. Check it out it's delicious.

Yelp
Great seafood spot. Fresh fresh and fresh shrimp, oysters, fish and everything in between. We love eating at bar. Oyster Rockefeller are to die for. Cold u peel em shrimp super fresh and super cold. Mahi is outrageously good. Cod is a double portion a great split meal. Go now don't wait it's awesome.

Yelp
One of our fav places for a great sale topped with awesome fish. The wine choices are great. The atmosphere, the space and the staff are a treat.

Yelp
I really needed a place to get away . I knew I loved the Alamein beach seafood from another restaurant nearby.

Yelp
This place is always busy, so we called ahead and were able to get a booth immediately upon arrival! Score! We started with fresh raw oysters and although they were small, they were delicious and came out quickly! If you check in on Yelp, you get a free glass of wine or a beer! Another score. We then ordered the calamari which is not the tentacles, but slices, and it was so unique! It did take over 30 minutes to come out, but that's okay, we were having date night. Entrees were not amazing, which is why it's 4 stars not 5. Cheese grits were just grits, nothing cheesy about them. Fries weren't good. Crab cake was pretty good. Fried shrimp were ok. A lot of breading. Would get something else next time. Coleslaw was good and fresh. Hubby liked oyster sandwich. Overall service was great and we had a fun time!
google avatar

Susie L.

Yelp
Had a craving for oysters and crabs and The Fish Co did not disappoint. We drove from Springfield and it was well worth it. Sat at the raw bar and watched all the seafood come and go. Oysters were good size. Stone crab was fat and delicious, and the roumelade they served it with was perfect. Pimento cheese dip with pepper jelly sauce and seemed like in house fried pita chips was a great starter. We went home full and happy.

Yelp
We were looking for a place to eat after one of the places on my list was closed. So we quickly had to decide and came across The Fish Co. it's located on Atlantic boulevard just a little bit off the Touristy area of Atlantic Beach. We had to wait about 20 minutes for our party of 8 to get seated, but the staff was very friendly and made our wait time feel like 5 minutes. We ordered their fried calamari, and it came with those Japanese Ginger dipping sauce that was absolutely phenomenal. My wife ordered their Cajun Calamari w/ shrimp. I had a few bites and it was quite tasty. I opted for their Seafood Platter combo. It came with fried oysters, fish, shrimp, crabs cake and served with cole slaw, hush puppies and a baked potato. Everything tasted fresh and I enjoyed everything except for their crab cakes. I've had some crab cakes from Baltimore that were out of this world, and now compare every crab cake I taste to those. Although this place was great, I'm not sure if I'll ever return to Jacksonville anytime soon. There might be other spots that the locals go to, but the Fish Co is definitely worth checking out.

Sarah L.

Yelp
My family recently moved to Jacksonville and it was our first time dining here. It was AMAZING our waitress was so kind and accommodating with the baby. The food was delicious!!! We got two two pounds of snow crab that was cooked to perfection. The kind crab was amazing aswell. The smoked fish dip was yummy too although we are used to a different kind of taste it was still delicious. Overall such an amazing experience and would recommend anyone try this place out!
google avatar

Yelp
Another review for this neighborhood favorite. The crab legs are always spot on, and my fiancé really loved his Cajun linguini. Last time we tried the calamari appetizer and were not fans of it. This time we tried the Mayport shrimp appetizer and it was PHENOMENAL. The breading does not fall off of the shrimp at all. So good

Betsy P.

Yelp
Service is impeccable. Almost everything on the menu tastes good and is always fresh. Never had a bad meal here. Our go to for out of town guests!
