Yelp
Had a wonderful stay! The our suite was spacious and clean. The pool was a great treat after a morning at the beach and the staff were all so kind! The location is unbeatable! We will definitely be back next summer!

Yelp
Beautiful hotel, had a wonderful weekend stay on the 8th floor! Quiet, clean room with kitchenette and separate sitting area. Will definitely book again in the future!

Yelp
Attended a Wedding Reception here and can honestly say this was a first class affair. The building is beautiful, well maintained and each room used for the Ceremony and reception was gorgeous. Guest rooms were great and exceeded expectations. Food at the reception was delicious as well as plentiful. All staff we encountered were professional and organized. A special shout out to Joanne who was so helpful and professional in keeping things organized and moving along. She made it look easy. Highly recommended!!

Yelp
We had the Holiday Tea here last Sunday. I was a bit disappointed. No brewed tea- hot water and tea bags with a very limited selection of teas ( I had Lipton decaf). Food was good; somewhat disappointed in the desserts. But what really got me was the 20% service fee, which included a 15% tip for the wait staff and 5% for linens, glassware, etc. Never heard of that before. But the real kicker is they added the total service fee into the subtotal, and then they calculated the sales tax. So we paid tax on the tip. I complained about this to the manager but she was busy and said she would have their accounting department get back to me. Ridiculous. If the food had been excellent and the tea delicious, I might have overlooked it. But they weren't so I didn't. The venue is very pretty and certainly worth a walk through; skip the tea.

Yelp
We went with a party of eight for Easter brunch and were quite surprised with the food that was served at almost $50.00 a piece. There was nothing that really stood out as exceptional, and I found the carved meats lacking anything more than diner quality. Again nothing was outstanding, although the deserts were good.

Yelp
I have been to this hotel many times years ago with my family, and always had great experience. I was there in August 2023 with my family we had terrible experience with customers service especially with the front desk manager, James. When I presented a complaint to him, instead of solving the problem, he made me more upset. When my American Express investigated my complaint, James lied about what actually happened. Not only did he violate the American with Disability Act (ADA) by refusing me the right to bring my service dog, I felt disrespected and discriminated by this manager as an elder, as a woman and as an Asian. Plus, the place is not worth the price we paid over $1,100 a night. The furniture was old, it was dirty, the toilet was not work, and the bed was not comfortable. From the bottom of my heart, I will never recommend this place. Date of stay: August 2023 Trip type: Traveled with family

Yelp
The hotel was not only in the ideal location, it was exceptionally clean. Every inch of this place was spotless, from the lobby, to the restrooms, to the stairwell, to the hotel suites. It was so lovely having not only a bedroom but a kitchen and living room with dining table. It had old world charm with a super friendly staff. And not to mention the location again, but the location couldn't be better. Wonderful staff. Wonderful stay. Nice heated pool for that rainy day fun. Wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

Yelp
Location, location, location. What a great spot! Located right in the heart of the boardwalk. Walkable to dozens of restaurants. The staff is super friendly, rooms are very clean, and there's always something to do. You can't get bored here! It is pricey, however, such is the case with the location. Definitely worth paying what we paid for this hotel. It has a lot of history and they certainly make use of the space provided for as old as the building is. We booked last minute and took a shot. It didn't disappoint. I loved the parking situation. We were able to park in the lot that borders the hotel. From here, we could quickly grab our sand toys for the kids, chairs for us, and odds and ends and head up to the beach. I noticed a sign about future luxury condos going there?????? I'm not sure how that would have an affect on parking or where we would park. I'll be curious in finding out. I love how it is now. I'll be disappointed if that convenience of parking changes. The only other negative, is a lack of balconies. Only a few rooms have them. It would be nice while at the beach. Over all, excellent experience!

Yelp
We had a perfectly wonderful stay at the Flanders in the winter off-season. Very nice to have the suite layout. Big bedroom, usable kitchen and a nice living room. Everything in the room was super clean and well stocked. The amenities like the pool, the coffee shop and the spa were not open during January but no big deal. Loved walking around the first couple floors of the Flanders. There is plenty of history here. Definitely a nice place.

Yelp
I've been going for breakfast every year on vacation at this restaurant. Since Covid the quality of food is subpar and the level of service is deplorable. This year I decided to give their high tea a try. Nowhere on the website does it say you have to call over 24 hours in advance. Every time I called I got a voicemail I messaged them on Facebook no reply. There is nowhere to reserve on the website. They finally called me back to let me know I needed to reserve 24 hours in advance. Thanks for ruining my vacation for today. My nephew sister and mother are very disappointed as well.

Andrew B.

Yelp
Why is this listed here ? It never shows up as a hotel option in any web site or search engine. I don't think it's a hotel with nightly rentals.

Pat H.

Yelp
Although a bit costly and only allow 2 night stay, the service and rooms are always clean.

Mary Jo D.

Yelp
Comfortable, quiet, roomy suite with great view of ocean, beach and roller coasters. Restaurant had a great breakfast. The shops offer women's clothing, shoes, jewelry, gifts and more. A bit crowded but lots of choices. Staff was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed it so much, we are going back in August.

Alex L.

Yelp
Last minute getaway...Nice hotel with old world charm all around with great suites. I loved my stay even though it was a rainy weekend. The hotel is connected to the main boardwalk which was a plus. Accommodations for 5 was perfect even on its more economical room; clean and ample space. Very good little coffee shop inside. VERY comfy bed was a huge +++! I would def recommend this little jewel to anyone. Staff was very accommodating and pleasant. Will be back!

Yelp
We stayed here for my daughters wedding. The place is beautiful. Very Victorian feel on the outside but our room was more modern and seashore beach themed with a living room, kitchen, and bedroom. The bridal suite or penthouse (not sure what they called it) where my daughter stayed was incredible with some fantastic views. The only issue was the slow elevator to the penthouse floor. The Flanders did a wonderful job for the wedding and reception. We first had the wedding in a nice room just across from the banquet hall so that made it very convenient for everyone. After the service a cocktail hour was conduced in the main hall outside the banquet room area. The staff was very friendly and the area was well lite. The food was excellent. I kept trying to find the crab cakes and tuna they served. The stations around the hall also had some great food. The banquet room was large and a perfect space for a reception. Again, the food was great. I had the Sea Bass that came with green beans and mashed potatoes. The portion size was perfect given the amount of food was had during the cocktail hour. I was really surprised by the food quality given that they were serving so many people. Also, the presentation was great. The Sea Bass was nice and tender and the sides were also very good. I would highly recommend the Flanders for any event, the food is great, the place is lovely, and the staff is extremely friendly.

Yelp
Stayed in the Ocean Front Penthouse on the 9th Floor from September 26th through October 2nd with my brother Walter. We had a fantastic time. It is a two-bedroom, three-bathroom suite with a living room, dining room area and fully stocked kitchen. There are 3 balconies with 2 facing the ocean and one facing south to see the bay off to the west. This is our second time to the Flanders Hotel, and we will be returning many more times. The condition of the hotel, the competence of the staff, the excellent food and service in Emily's Restaurant, and the convenient location (just steps to the Boardwalk and beach) all make this an ideal place to stay in Ocean City.

Yelp
They have a crab special on certain nights, they ran out of crabs and then had the nerve to charge me regular meal prices. DO NOT FALL FOR THE ALL YOU CAN EAT SPECIAL. ITS A SCAM! Will never go there again to eat, overpriced, nothing special.

Jen A.

Yelp
We LOVE The Flanders!!! Gorgeous hotel. We stayed in room 917 for our anniversary this past weekend. Beautiful views from every window! We were able to open the windows and listen to the ocean. Very clean. The lobby is decorated for the holidays and it's just gorgeous! The staff is sweet and helpful. It's right on the boardwalk, and the access to the beach is directly across the boardwalk from The Flanders. Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
We stayed here for our Family Reunion and thoroughly enjoyed the weekend! I was already impressed with this hotel because the family reunion was held here last year; unfortunately we could not attend last year (2018) as my Mother was ill. What impressed me was instead of charging me for the one night stay they reduced the charge when I called to explain what happened. I was so thankful and it really speaks volumes about the character of the management and staff. The room was clean, updated and had everything you need for your stay!! Having never visited Ocean City NJ, I found it very family oriented and I did enjoy it. Mind you, it's nothing like VA Beach or Myrtle Beach in that if you want a "party" atmosphere...not the placeIf you want family friendly and chillin out, awesome. BTW ..BYOB because it's "dry". I hope to come back and will definitely stay at FLANDERS

Michael S.

Yelp
Great location right off the boardwalk. Room was unfortunately not ready for check in at the specified time. The path to bike parking is absolutely disgusting, filled with garbage, grease traps and cigarette butts. Would expect better attention to detail for the price.

Febra S.

Yelp
We have been enjoying summer family vacations at The Flanders hotel for the past twenty years! The location is great, the hotel is charming, and the staff is wonderfully kind and helpful. The lobby is "vintage" and unique. The rooms are a decent size and every time we come here we feel like we're coming home. The pool is large and a welcome finale to a fun day on the beach. We love that the boardwalk and beach are so accessible. Thank you Tiffany, Joanne, and all of the excellent staff for going out of your way to make every stay an enjoyable one. We've made great memories here, and hope to continue the annual tradition for many years to come.

Yelp
What a terrible experience. The room was filthy and this is during COVID. We opened the pull out couch for my son and their were crumbs and a big juice stain on the sheets. Staff is very rude. We had to switch rooms because it wasn't clean, no toilet paper in the room. We told them they brought up one roll. Yes one roll. No top sheet, I wouldn't gift my enemy a trip to this hotel. The food service was so bad we had to leave after the one server got upset after they spilled water on us. For our troubles they gave us some ride tickets and golf tickets as well as a Six PM checkout. They just forgot to tell the front desk we got the boot at 1! The best part of the stay was the check-out. Bye bye Flanders!

Andre B.

Yelp
Chose to stay at the Flanders for a family vacation. We are traveling with a newborn and a 3 year old, so we decided to book the 2 bedroom oceanfront suite. Upon arrival we were greeted with someone to help us with our bags which was great. We walked in to slightly outdated but nice enough hotel lobby, where we checked in fast enough (room 712). Once getting to our room, we took a look around and things were mostly clean. The blinds and windows needed a wipe down, and none of the windows were fully closed or locked, but not the worst set up we've seen. The air conditioning worked well, and the pictures were accurate of the space. The kitchenette is small, and large enough of you plan to cook, but we weren't, so it was ok. The room and furniture is slightly dated, and it's probably time for a redecoration. All in all, things were going well enough, and the location was awesome (right off the boardwalk and beach), until we started to go to bed. First, the rooms are right next to the amusement rides, which were loud. I knew this in advance, so was ok with it. The full bedroom had a nice soft but supportive bed, appropriate for any nicer quality hotel. In the King bedroom though, the bed was basically made of concrete. It was rock hard and seem to be very old and worn out! We called down at night after 2 hours of trying to sleep to ask for a bed topper or something, but was told they had nothing. This forced me to sleep with my 3 year old, leaving my wife to try to survive the night. She did but had a stiff back all morning. We asked the front desk again in the morning for help, and all they offered was an egg crate topper. That didn't do anything at all! The Flanders has potential to be a nice hotel, but at $500+ per night if you can't even get a decent nights sleep because of their beds, and they don't try enough to resolve it, might be worth checking out another option nearby.

Yelp
If you're looking for perfection, this is pretty close. The hotel was great, it's accommodations unmatched by the other hotels in Ocean City. It suited my needs, as it provided more than just a room to sleep in, but also a living center- a place to gather after the day outside had ended. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, and are decorated beautifully. No dollar is wasted, even in the restaurant, which is usually lacking in a hotel, but here is a great place for breakfast, as it has friendly servers and a great menu. The only reason this place doesn't get the fifth star is because of the cleaning staff, which, while cleaning in a satisfactory way, gets in your way at times and can clean at irregular times. If you are looking for a quality stay right on the boardwalk, this is definitely a place that you would enjoy.

Karen P.

Yelp
Inlaws and sister just stayed and I went to the High Tea which was amazing!!! Rooms were very spacious and great location! Convenience of a pool, fitness center, restaurant, and rides outside the room.

Joette M.

Yelp
Won't ever go back was treated very rudely for no reason Went to a Christmas tea with my husband and daughter it was nice When my oldest daughter came back home I made reservations for us to take her there for a Tea I made reservations as soon as I received my email about an upcoming tea I called the number made a reservation for four The day came we were all excited about our day together When we arrived they weren't in the ballroom they were in a much smaller room which was fine There was only one lady so we waited patiently to let her know our names for our reservations and she was real mean to us and said we didn't have any reservations and that we were just walk ins and we were lying trying to get a table without reservations I was embarrassed and humiliated by her accusations and her tone I tried to explain I had called the front desk and made my reservations as soon as I received an email about the event I tried to show her my email she was rude didn't want to see it or listen to me she said we weren't on her list and she didn't like liars nor did she have enough food Their were two young ladies (women) who were also there and they were walk ins and they were snickering at my family and our situation and how we were being treated they didn't have reservations and they just went into the room and sat down the lady didn't say anything to them The others ladies who were walk ins were aloud and my family who made plans in advance and reservations were treated horribly and turned away My husband said let's go we don't need this I don't want to be here anymore any way we are done here we will never come back My husband works constantly so this was supposed to be a special family outing Every time I get an email from them about an upcoming tea I feel angry about how we were treated we are really good people we didn't deserve it I never got rude with her or anyone just tried to explain so needless to say these emails make me sad and constant reminder of a sad and hurtful embarrassing moment due to someone else's cruelty I wish you would remove me from your email list And yes I called the main desk and we went to the main desk that day told to leave a message what happened no one cared no one called us back Pretty bad If Your family really looks forward to a nice family time and having special moments together and want to go to nice places and are willing to pay extra money to have nice surroundings and be around nice waiters and waitresses and have good food I would rethink having my family memories at this place

Diane D.

Yelp
Just had my daughter's wedding here and spent the weekend. What a beautiful building filled with a rich history. Rooms and suites very clean and spacious. Fantastic boardwalk and ocean view location. But I can't say enough about the courtesy and kindness of entire staff. Front desk ladies very courteous and efficient. Karen, wedding planner, always available and ready to help. Food at cocktail hour and wedding knocked it out of the park. We had a wonderful experience with this venue.

Cheyann S.

Yelp
Our one night stay for $300 was less than subpar. My spouse and I were bit by "some unknown bug" through the duration of our stay. We had not yet made it to the beach, so it was not sand fleas or mosquitos. We told the front desk immediately during our check out and the execute housekeeper said the bed was completely clear of evidence of bed bugs. However, as you'll see in the photos it was not an overwhelming amount of bites just a few. Regardless, if you pay for a room at such a highly rated hotel you should not have to worry about such matter. However, I do understand that things happen. The staff did not seem very concerned with the issue and offered a complimentary breakfast. We of course declined and left as is. I suggest if you do stay to ask if the room has been treated or if there were prior complaints. Despite that incident the location is perfect. We never had to leave the boardwalk to get back to our room and the beach is in plain site. Maggie during check in was wonderful! She unfortunately was not there during checkout.

Cassandra P.

Yelp
Been here a few times. It is very pretty with a vintage charm to it. The rooms are always very clean and very spacious. It has a heated pool. If you have little kids there is a mini amusement park attached to it as well. Great vacation spot

Frederick B.

Yelp
The Flanders Hotel has no wedding venue equal. Karen Bergman and every one of her staff are true, diligent professionals. The cocktail hour with its delightful appetizers at the opulent Promenade was grand and exquisite, the Garden Room was elegant and festive, the catering and food were absolutely magnificent, the entire staff were so very accommodating and cordial, our corner room was perfect with both ocean and bay views, my new bride and I just didn't want to leave!

Stephanie G.

Yelp
I recently had my wedding rehearsal and wedding at the Flanders and couldn't have asked for a more perfect experience. Karen and her staff were very professional and accommodating and made the whole process very worry free. They took care of all aspects of the wedding. We had our ceremony on the beach which was beautifully decorated and set up. The reception that followed was beyond my expectations. the hall of mirrors and the ballroom were breathtaking. Aside from the beautiful atmosphere, the food was phenomenal. We had a lot of self made "food critics" invited to our wedding, including ourselves, and people couldn't stop raving about how good the cocktail hour and dinner was. Thank you to Karen and the Flanders staff for making my wedding day truly memorable.

Yelp
This hotel is an experience that needs to be understood through all the sense. Visually, as you enter the hotel they want you to think "1930's." The chandeliers, the furniture, and many other stylings definitely carry a motif from that era. It looks clean for the most part, and it is. Once you get to the suites, it's a different feel-- 1990's shore house. Full sized suites with lots of blue touches, updated counter tops, full kitchens and bathrooms, decently sized bedrooms, and a reasonable living area. TVs are in each bedroom and the living room. Emily's Ocean Restaurant has a 1980's diner look, and the creepy-mint-holding-old-lady statue at the entrance doesn't do it any good. Unfortunately, the place carries a funny odor. It was akin to used kitty litter-- it was not pleasant at all. But, the rooms were cleaned and had a neutral smell. They could improve in this area greatly. So a neat thing about the hotel is that it's on the boardwalk. Very cool, right? Well, it would be if there wasn't an amusement park literally on the other side of the fence. You will hear it, though the windows and walls keep out most of the sound. If you have a room facing the boardwalk, this is your fate. It's not great for people on the first floor, but I bet it looks better on higher floors. The place had an okay feel to it. When I go to the shore, I don't want a posh hotel room. I'm probably staying with friends (a wedding in this case), and I think that the suite set-up is most appropriate. However, they need to get new mattresses (waaaay too soft), and they could clean the couches better (white stains everywhere...gross). Also, the sunrise heats up the first two rooms that it forces you to use the AC like crazy. BUT, the AC for two of the suite rooms is controlled in the room that faces the sunrise-- the person in the second bedroom nearly freezes to death. Beyond that, no complaints. We had rehearsal dinner and the wedding reception there. The food is okay, though they love to serve asparagus and mashed potatoes with their entree. Both could be a lot better, but I guess it's average. The entrees good for the most part, though my girlfriend's rehearsal dinner entree (flounder stuffed with crabmeat) was 1) a gigantic serving, and 2) incredibly salty. The dinner at the reception was sea bass or filet, and both were very good. I didn't taste the physical hotel, but I'm guessing it tastes like salt water and dust, so consider that as you may. Would I go back to the Flanders? Maybe for a wedding, but I don't think I'd go with friends just for a weekend. It was $320 per couple (3 couples per suite) for two nights. I'd rather get a vacation rental through Home Away or VRBO than do that. But, if you're going to be there, don't worry-- it's an alright place.

Yelp
Went there for a November weekend to celebrate a 50th Yr HS Reunion and was given a lovely suite at a good price. Although the food was a little pricey for breakfast, it was of a fine quality. The buffet and open bar for the reunion dinner were also excellent. Then why the one star rating? Unfortunately, I had a problem with housekeeping. Let me explain. There was a Meet and Greet Gathering on Friday Nite with a BYOB and we packed a wine box with our booze and other things we would need for the weekend. Since we hadn't eaten since lunch, I brought back to the suite some fast food. The trash for fast food was left on the wine box because we were tired from driving, the gathering, and eating late. There was in the box a rare borrowed book, which I was reading at the time. Saturday When we returned to our suite before dinner, housekeeping had clean the rooms but we hadn't notice the box was gone. After the reunion reception we noticed the box was gone but not thinking about the book. After going to bed, I realized that the book had been in the box and was gone at 2:30AM and I didn't sleep anymore that nite. At 7:00AM I notified the desk person of the missing book and a manager had checked their trash for a "wire" box which was picked up at 5:00AM. The day manager came to our suite and discover it was wine box which was taken and probably was picked up with the cardboard trash earlier. I stressed to him the value and uniqueness of the book. He said that the hotel would notify of its search. That was 7 weeks ago and I have not received any info about the book. I have replaced the book to the tune of almost $600, and this is the reason for the one star rating. And Angela of housekeeping, this is why there was no gratuity left for our visit.

Lan G.

Yelp
We stayed there for friends' wedding. 5 of us shared a three-bedroom suite on the first floor. It's pretty spacious and has a full kitchen. The suite is right next to the amusement park but you won't hear any noise if you keep the door and windows closed. You can relax on the patio which has a large table with umbrella. There are also lounge chairs. Individual room has its own AC control and TV. The housekeeping service is very attentive and timely. Staff are very friendly. We ate at the Emily dining room for rehearsal dinner. We all enjoyed the food there. The breakfast buffet was just average. The wedding was at one of the big dining halls upstairs. It's a good venue and spacious for 100+ guests. They have a very nice hardwood floor that you can dance on. We certainly enjoyed our stay there.

Brad W.

Yelp
Two major gripes: 1) Two week cancelation policy. Insane. 2) You have to pay for your entire stay upfront. At least they have free parking and the rooms are huge.

Colleen M.

Yelp
The Flanders is a historic hotel right on the boardwalk in downtown Ocean City. I didn't stay here but I attended a wedding reception on the second floor. It's a beautiful building. The food was really good. I was a big fan of the raw bar. My only complaint is the layout is a little strange. The dancefloor and DJ were in a separate room from the dinner tables. The bathrooms are also very small for such a large venue. Overall, it's a nice place though.

Chris Z.

Yelp
We enjoy staying here but it is very pricey. For the price I expect perfection in the room, but this last time there were two already-opened bottles of water in the fridge when we arrived. Later, when we pulled out the sofa bed, the sheets were covered in crumbs and part of a candy wrapper. My guess is the previous occupant didn't use the sofa bed but ate plenty of food while sitting on it, so the crumbs and mess fell through the cushions. It was disgusting. It was very late so we took off the dirty fitted sheet and replaced it with an extra top sheet that was in the sleep chair. Cleanliness has to be a priority in a hotel like this.

Yelp
Such an amazing experience and great place to stay. The Flanders is a staple in OC. It is the same place my parents knew from their summers at the shore lifeguarding/waitressing and going to see shows over in Somers Point at Tony Marts. It is an experience. I first went to the Flanders with my Grandfather for high tea about 23 years ago. I thought it was the coolest place around (we all know SS on 31st is) "with the triangle sandwiches with no crust" and the "personal desserts".... Now jump from 1990 to 2014 which is when The Flanders became the place I would say "I do". The service was impeccable. They have a new chef who is younger, excited about his job, and you can taste it. Karen, the wedding coordinator made sure it went off without any issues. They just put new hardwood floors down in the smaller ballroom making it the biggest dance floor of any wedding we have attended recently. As for going over the top, they let me bring a surrey into the hotel so we could ride into the ballroom when being announced as husband and wife. The rooms were amazing and on Friday, it looked over the rides and the pool but I could not hear a thing and this was the weekend of July 26th. We got married on the beach (same weekend as Night In Venice) but the people were so nice, no one was obnoxious, the Flanders staff had everything set up perfectly and on time (unlike our reverend), and having the dining room and dance room separate turned out to be better than I could have imagined. Everyone danced all night and the transition from dinner to the dance floor was seamless. Filet and Crab Cakes were unbelievable. And not just because it was my wedding. Hors d'oeuvres were great even though I didn't get to eat many. Side note: Being a dry town, our guests who were not staying over needed a cab home because Circle Liquor brought in so much booze and whatever we didn't open, they picked up and didn't charge us for it. Superb customer service on all levels. Beach wedding was great (she said yes), hotel was awesome, rooms were amazing and big. The people who work there really take an interest in you having a great experience because from what I saw, they love their jobs. My Grandfather couldn't make it to try the fillet rather than the "triangle sandwiches with no crust" but my 90 year old Grandmother cut up a rug and was teaching people how to dougie! It was nostalgic! Highly recommend staying for a weekend or having your wedding there.

Yelp
Fitness Center is terrible, cardio machines are not working, missing pins on weight machines, only 1 set of Dumbbells which is 15 lbs.

Camille A.

Yelp
Absolutely worst service and food (and useless/rude manager) ever had in Ocean City. Finally gave us a guy (Joe) who tried to make it better. The woman who took our order never brought our drinks. Salads came 40 minutes after ordered. Never brought wedge salads. Stuffed Flounder was raw. Steaks literally purple and raw/ cold and so fatty and grisly could not cut or chew. Two other tables left for such horrid service. Ruined our daughter's birthday. Will not return.

Yelp
I've never stayed here at the hotel but the atmosphere inside is really cool, very old, nostalgic, Victorian. But we did take part in the All you can eat crabs at their restaurant during the week while on vacation. I thought it would be super crowded but it wasn't and the crabs were awesome. It wasn't a buffet either (which I hate), they served them to us! The wait staff was great too. Very nice and accommodating. I will definitely go back there! So much better than some other seafood places near OC.

Yelp
My family and I have been staying at the Flanders each summer since the 1990's. It's beautiful, upscale and the staff are very friendly, attentive and helpful. Yummy food, large serving sizes at emily's ocean room (the restaurant) and very nice heated pool with enough room, definitely! Shower water stays hot for a while and doesn't run cold which is GREAT! Incredibly clean and the rooms are spacious with a nice scent and oversized bathrooms. Beds were very comfortable (you know ocean city hotels are not usually known for that) and comfortable sleeper sofa and chair as well. The rooms have nice views and are quiet and tranquil. Very good food and the hotel is also right on the boardwalk! There is a gym, coffee shop, salon, spa, 3 gift shops, computer room/business room/library/game room, map room where there are events such as magic shows and ballrooms right in the hotel!! Gorgeous lobby & 2nd floor. (ballroom and catering areas) all the floors are updated and rooms newly renovated, new carpets, new paint, new door locks & keycards and new wallpapering/paint. Rooms have little kitchens with microwaves, fridge/freezer, 2 burner stove, dishwasher, sink, and also cabinets stocked with cups, mugs, glasses, plates, bowls, dinner plates and the drawers are filled with real silverware. Very upscale and high-end hotel, and amazing prices for everything you get! Very affordable. I paid just $349 for the one bedroom suite (the smallest room) which includes one king sized bed in it's own bedroom, kitchen, bathroom with tub/shower (unless you are in a handicapped room) living area with table, chairs, sleeper sofa and sleeper chair, spacious closets with hangers, iron/ironing board and suitcase stands, phone, free/complimentary wifi and so much more. The furniture is seaside/ocean theme but such nice decor and so pretty and quality. The food is very, very good. At least 2 flatscreen cable color TVs in each room and the cleaning ladies are sweet and do a lovely job. Windows are nice and they open and some are stained glass (adds an artistic touch!) updated/new furniture in the rooms, kindly front desk staff and very wonderful place to hold weddings as my friend had her wedding here and the service was exceptional. The hotel is huge with plenty to do! Elegant, classy, perfect for couples but also fun for the whole family. The kids love it. The rooms are very clean, the beds are clean as well and everything is just very neat, tidy and organized. Wouldn't want to stay anywhere else.

Yelp
Went to their Holiday High Tea. The atmosphere was very nice. There was a harpist playing holiday music. The few things I was disappointed at were their tea selection wasn't that great. Also they served sour cream with the scones instead of clotted cream. YUK! I would have preferred real whipped cream. Other than that the sandwiches, sweets and savories were all good.

Yelp
We decided stay at the Flanders hotel, I always thought that there was a beauty to the place when walking by. We stayed in apartment 101, much to my surprise it's very dirty , when my family walked in the first thing we noticed was the tile floor was very dirty, I even noticed someone's blood on the back bedrooms bathroom floor, when I peed in the toilet because of the film in the bowl it was yellow, also the bathtub didn't drain when the person sprayed something it in because there was a film and sand at the bottom of the tub. I wish I could up load the pictures. I asked house keeping to please clean the bathrooms and clean the floors while we left for the beach. They said ok no problem I said I would leave a tip at the front desk for them if they really cleaned, they said we are the only Brazilian girls here and will clean. Nope didn't do it . I was on my hands and knees cleaning the gross floor before I would even have my grandkids walk on it, again wish I could upload pictures. We checked in Friday and the women at the front desk was so rude, we asked the location of our room she said follow the signs, in the morning of Saturday we asked the women at the front desk the location of the coffee shop and she was more then helpful and pleasant.

Yelp
I can't say enough good things about the experience I had at The Flanders hotel. I was lucky enough to be assisted by Ann when making my reservation as well as checking in. Ann typically works in the gift shop, but helps at the front desk when needed. Ann went above and beyond to make sure my stay was comfortable and that my room met my expectations. When I made my reservation I was very specific in stating that I am a "hotel snob." The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the location was perfect. Although the weather was not ideal, I'm happy to say that I will choose the Flanders when I return to Ocean City.

Yelp
Gorgeous! I stayed here for two nights and all was just fabulous. The room had an ocean view; a little "kitchen" area; complete with beach tags; continuous hot water in the shower; comfortable bed; and most of all...CLEAN. Very beautiful decor...very charming...very happy I had the opportunity to experience it. Hope you do, too!

Yelp
We stayed at The Flanders Hotel on an off-season weekend. Stepping into the hotel is like stepping back in time. It has a Boardwalk Empire/1920s feel, and a resident ghost (Emily) who supposedly hangs out in the hall of mirrors on the second floor (or so say my in-laws, anyway). The hotel restaurant, Emily's, serves a nice breakfast. I had a stack of coconut pancakes big enough for six people, and it was delicious. As for the hotel room, we had one of the basic suites with an ocean view. We were on the 7th floor so we had a stunning view of the ocean and the Ferris wheel below. We opened the windows and enjoyed the sound of the waves. Since it was the off-season the amusement park wasn't opened, so we had a quiet and peaceful stay, but I can't speak to how loud it might be in the rooms during the summer months. The one-bedroom suite was spacious and great for a family. The bathroom was huge, there is a small kitchen that we didn't use on this particular trip but would be useful for a longer holiday, and the bed was comfortable. The price is a bit steep, but you are paying for location and amenities that you don't have at other Ocean City hotels. I would definitely consider staying here again, particularly during the off-season when the rates are very reasonable.
