Acclaimed Houston Restaurant Indigo Will Close in 2021 | Eater Houston

"I learned the Rhodeses launched a GoFundMe campaign seeking $250,000 to fund Food Fight Farms, a farm intended to provide necessary produce for Broham Fine Soul Food & Groceries; the proceeds will allow continued physical development of the farm. They have already secured the land for Food Fight Farms and are working on clearing and prepping it for planting, and the project is explicitly aimed at serving the residents of Trinity Gardens." - Brittanie Shey

Food Literacy Project (FLP) is a great organization. The office and farm are located with Oxmoor Farm between the Oxmoor Golf Course and the highway. The green trailer is the office building right next to the barn and close to the farm house. The program itself is great. They are a non profit that does farm programs, a Youth Community Agriculture Program, farmer’s markets and more. They host AmeriCorps members as well. There is also a location near Iroquois. Visiting the Oxmoor farm today, everyone was super friendly. The farm manager was super helpful and the other staff were happy to show us around. It seems like a group that’s genuinely excited about helping people learn and get more skilled with growing your own food. Looking forward to more programming from them post-COVID as they might be at more farmers markets and have more people out to the farm.
