The Forest Bar and Kitchen

We had been cycling the Lakeside trail and stopped part way at the Forrest bar. This is a restaurant and bar with food. Lovely staff who accommodated us and casual dining area at the rear over looking the lake. Good selection of food, quick service and very reasonably priced. Plenty of pay and display parking. This is also the site for a campsite with lodges. Would recommend.

I ordered a Kiev pizza and got garlic bread with 5 minute pieces of chicken and a not even a full slice of a red onion. No mushrooms or cheese and they used garlic butter. They need lessons on how to make a pizza never mind a garlic Kiev.l They cannot even make a margarita pizza either. I’ve seen more topping and cheese on One slice of an ASDA bought 10” thin slice pizza. It wasn’t cooked properly either. We ordered chunky chip which were only normal chips and skin on fries which were the scraps. Both chips were cold as well. Worst pizza experience I’ve ever had in my life. The last time we were here, I nearly sent the burger back as it was awful. And my wife’s fish pie only had one piece of fish in it. Pea pie would have been the best description of this as it was covered in smash potatoes as well. Not real potatoes. If I was the owner I would sack the worst chef of all time. I will not be surprised if I wake up with food poisoning in the morning. We went for coffee and cake this morning and we offered only one type of cake and that was the left over from yesterday according to the staff, which I had to decline. This so called restaurant is an absolute embarrassment to the Kielder waterside park. It lets everything else down. DO NOT EAT HERE if I were you.

Lodge like bar, restaurant, play area and outdoor seating. Not a vast menu but enough to choose from. Very friendly and quite quick service. We had large Caesar salad and egg mayo and bacon sandwich. They had run out of coleslaw. Two portions of fries but one would have been enough. Really tasty. Soft drinks.

Staying at Waterside for a family mini break to celebrate my daughter's 30th birthday. Booked a table here at the restaurant for a family meal. We were welcomed and looked after by Brandon, he was very good at his job, making us all feel welcome and relaxed, we didn't get to say good bye as he wasn't around when we left, but just washed to say he was credit to the team. The food was excellent such good value and ample portion sizes, we all left stuffed. Staying in January, the park/restaurant was fairly quiet, however honestly for us it was perfect. I also want to say how blown away by the extra touches the restaurant provided, they gave her a bottle of prosecco and a beautiful dessert. I had not expected that. So thank you from us all, it topped off. Lovely day.

Highly recommended, a great spot for some lunch, a wide variety menu and lots to choose from. Good value for money, great service, cool sports bar area with Darts and pool.

great place to enjoy a double vodka lemonade and a hot chocolate (which was amazing, one of the best i’ve had) everything was great just pie filling was a bit too stodgy/thick for me but nonetheless the service was brilliant and would go again if in the area

Kielder is an absolute haven for cyclists - fantastic trails, roads, and is on Route 10 (Reivers). This place has ample outdoor seating, and when we called by (on bikes), on a Friday Lunchtime there must have been at least 20 cyclists who were hoping to eat outside. The restaurant staff were unable to serve us anything outdoors (though could provide numerous pizzas to a staff event elsewhere), and directed us to the shop for packet sandwiches and Machine coffee. The management are missing a trick here; the place is so cycling friendly except for the catering, it’s bizarre

Not to sure where to start, deep fried squid was absolutely disgusting no flavour tasted like cardboard, salt and pepper chicken was boiled chicken then looked like it had been browned on a radiator! Why was there aubergine in salt and pepper chicken…. The fish and chips chips were nice fish was laced in grease food was rotten won’t be returning bill was £84 with the starters taken off, pizza was not cooked ither and we travelled 50 minutes fort this food also there was piss all over the toilet seat just not a time out spent the last of my wages on the bill too.
