The Fountain Detroit

You come to this place for the central location and atmosphere. The food is nothing worth nothing and depending on if you're lucky it's either self serve our served. I happened to go when no one was running the floor, so I had to order at the bar. They give you a buzzer, but you don't get a tray so if you order a decent amount of food you may be making multiple trips. They had some creative sliders, but everything served was about the same quality as if I went to Cheddar's. I don't know how the cocktails are, but if I were to go again I'd make sure to eat else where first. There is another great slider place in town about a 2-miles away from here if you're looking for quality sliders.

Such a nice place to sit and have lunch. Listen to live music. Meet new and interesting people. And The Sailors Monument is awesome and memorials around Campus Martius Park are just beautiful. You got to see it in person to feel the real artistic beauty of it.

Emily was the best bartender to our group before the tigers game. She went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of and had a good time. Thank you Emily!!

Campus Marcia is a beautiful place centered in the center of Detroit with an ice-skating rink and we have one of the largest trees in the country. It’s taller than the one in Rockefeller Center in New York City.

Beautiful place to feel the incredible energy of Detroit and it’s people! Spending a warm summer evening around this place is food for the soul. Smiles and laughter and togetherness is all around here!

Atmosphere: Can get pretty crowded but overall beautiful sight seeing place!

The food and drinks were good. The server was professional and nice and I like the and ambiance.

This is the beach area adjacent to Parc. Looking for an easy patio to enjoy a glass of wine. The server asked if we were going up stairs, while we were walking up.. we said yes and she mentioned she'll be right back up. 25 min later we walked out. Decided to give Greektown our biz.

Open to the park with sandbox an outdoor bar, included - this was the perfect meet up spot for a first time meet with now friends! The area was lively with a mix of people of all ages. The were birds, sun, music, and laughter. Various tables to sit at if you are able to find one that is vacant - sunny and shady spots. There is also a couple water features, of course. We didn't order food, but next time I will for sure try something as the menu looked to have some nice sounding options! My friend got me their Fairground Lemonade which was light and refreshing for the hot day. The staff looked to be busy, but that's a good thing - I liked seeing how many people were out and about - we were there maybe early afternoon (1-2pm arrival on a Saturday).

This place isn't even called the fountain anymore. Me and my friend walked down there from Greektown and was looking all over for "The Fountain" and finally asked and they said oh that's not here anymore. It has a new name now. There was about five sandwiches on the menu and about five drinks and that was it not to mention the wait staff were sitting at a table over in the corner and acted like they didn't even see us. Also, in the pictures on the website they make it look like it's a whole lot bigger than what it really is. It's a small area with some sand and some chairs around it. Don't be fooled - I was not impressed and I hate to say that about the Detroit area because I love it so much.

Came downtown to enjoy the weather and experience the vibe. We patiently waiting in line at the bar to grab our drinks. First impression, two very unhappy bartenders. No eye contact, no smiles, moving almost intentionally slow . When the male bartender decided to acknowledge us, we asked for a shot of Casamigos. He promptly replied with, "a shot is $27". What the heck???! Two shots and you can go buy your own bottle! He had no other recommendations or even had a fake apology. He was very happy we left and that was our first impression of the fountain and last visit. We happily walked to the Anchor and had great service, happy and friendly staff.

This is part of the park where the city puts the huge sandbox and the ice rink in winter. A roped off deck area with converted shipping containers. Some food items, some beers, and few cocktails. A little over priced. The staff was fast and friendly. There is a beer bucket deal, which helps with groups. Mostly clean, and it uses trailer style restrooms.

I love Campus Martius,, great place to hang out. What's even better is that you're allowed to drink on the sandbox. Get your drink on while you get to sink your toesies on the sand. The bar that supplies the drinks and food food for this spot is this guy right here. Tables to fill up quick after office hours, so do come before then if you're not into fighting for tables and seats. That or stay in the farmlands. Chicken Wings: It's alright. Didn't look or taste anything special. Pulled Chicken Nachos: Perfect dish to order for sharing with friends. Not the best nachos I ever had. My gin and tonic tasted like gin and tonic. Only thing was the service kept misfiring. Everybody else got their drinks and I didn't, I asked to check if my gin and tonic was still coming. He said he forgot and he'll put the order in. Our waters weren't automatically refilled, we had to ask for them repeatedly. I uh,, not impressed by the service. You want direct connect, just grab a drink at the bar and take it to the sand box. Wish this was more worth it. Spent 20+ min in line and could only get drinks and were no longer serving food which was sad but I get it. The most disappointing part was that the Detroit Vice had literally zero booze in it. Wish I had some alcohol for the $14+ I spent on each drink

2nd time coming here on Saturday Aug 28th came here at 9:30pm came for a drink and they said they just called last call and were closing and were not letting people in this place is so ghetto right smack dab in the middle of downtown this is sad! Need to get some new management and staff! Will make sure to spread the word about this place just gets worse and worse!!!

This is the restaurant in a shipping container in Campus Martius. Campus Martius is a fun place with food trucks, tables, live music, foosball, ping pong tables, and a beach in summer. We didn't want to stand in line at the food trucks so we went to Fountain where they have table service. Most of the tables are under umbrellas, but some are in the sun. All of the tables are high tables (which is a terrible trend for short people, people with children, etc). Our waiter Andy was friendly and refilled our drinks and checked back with us. It was slow getting our food. All of the food is brought in from a restaurant in Birmingham since there isn't a real kitchen in the shipping container. The lack of space may slow the food prep. We had the chicken sandwich and the falafel sandwich and both were tasty. We thought that the falafel was better than the chicken. They will stay open into the fall. It would be nice if they could serve hot drinks in the winter when the ice skating rink is open. Word of warning: if you are at a table closest to the fountain on a windy day you might get wet.

Cool spot in the heart of downtown Detroit. I went there kind of late on a Friday and ordered a salad, some fries, and a glass of rose. Our server, I think her name was Shana, was so sweet and friendly. Towards the end of our meal I got up to go to the bathroom and when I came back my food and drink had been cleared from the table. I was so disappointed and when the server found out, she apologized brought me another half glass of wine! Great place to sit outside, take in views of the surrounding buildings and the fountain of course, and hang out in an Adirondack chair with your feet in the sand (yes there was a huge sandbox!).

This place has a ton of potential but falls short. We walked in and the employees were gossiping and ignoring us. The lady taking our order had long nails (health code violation?) and was eating while taking our order. Very gross and unprofessional. Also she was trying to clean off the dirt from my canned beer. Why not just rinse it or give me another? Also they were out of fries? We got nachos and they only had chicken and cheese despite the description which included onions and jalapeños. How? this place needs work. A lot of it. And train your damn employees.

What a fun place to hang out with friends after work! A former storage container nestled on the eastern edge of Campus Martius Park serves as the restaurant's kitchen and doubles as a bar. A spattering of tables push up to the "beach" in the center of the park. Apparently, called the Fountain, because it offers a great view of the fountain, any seat in the place also is a great spot to hear the live music that is often being presented on the stage. The only drawback is that not all tables are outfitted with an umbrella, and on a sunny day, it can be pretty hot with the sun glaring down on you. The menu has a nice selection of appetizers, salads and sandwiches. I expected the food to taste like typical bar food, but I was surprised to find that it was much better than average. My friends and I had the pirogies, fresh cut fries, crispy chicken wings, hoisin chicken and finished up with strawberry shortcake. We enjoyed every tasty dish. But one of my friends who ordered dessert expected the strawberry shortcake to have ice cream inside, not just whipped cream. When she made inquiry and expressed her mild disappointment, the server immediately apologized and took it off. This was a testament to the attentive, polite and all around great service we received the whole time. My friends and I definitely have a new afterwork go to spot added to our list!

I come here pretty often while my kids are playing on the beach area, so I will update this review if necessary. I have always really enjoyed coming here. I've always received very friendly and helpful service, and no one has ever made an issue if I just want a glass of water and a nice place to chill while my kids are playing. I usually order a drink or something to munch on, though, so my review will be based on those experiences. As far as location, you can't beat it. Sitting out in the patio under the paper lanterns and a blue sky sipping lemonade or a cocktail is the perfect ideal for summer vacation. There's usually good music playing, and at nights it's adults only. Just a great vibe all around. As for the food, this is where it gets tricky. I've never had an issue with the food. It's just so overpriced for what you get. Again, the food isn't BAD! I would just usually pay half of what they charge at any other place. $9 for a bagged salad, most likely store bought dressing, and a couple extra ingredients. $12 for a mediocre burger. I'd just rather spend my $$ getting really quality food somewhere else. Again, the service has always been great. Whenever I've asked for suggestions, they're helpful. Everyone pitches in refillings waters, bringing boxes etc. Everyone has been friendly. I just wish the food wasn't quite so pricey, or I would be here ALLL THE TIME.

This is a great little spot in the heart of Downtown Detroit in Campus Martius next to the fountain. It is a very nice bar to stop by after work or if your strolling the streets to get a drink and some food during the summer months. Location wise, it's perfect. It's right in the middle of the city, surrounded by buildings and it's great for pictures. On Fridays, they have live music by the sand which is a nice beach touch. However, I think some things could be improved. The area where the tables are is very small and cramped. I had to literally hold my stomach in and squeeze into my seat. I would suggest making the sand area a bit smaller to make more room for tables and chairs. I wouldn't recommend this place for a date. If you have a party of two and it's packed, you may be sharing a tabletop with other people. Also, the tabletops are not covered with umbrellas so you will be in the sun which can be brutal on a hot day. I haven't tried the food yet but it looks really good and I have heard it's delicious. However, the servers only serve you drinks, not food. You have to get up and order/pick up your food from the kitchen area yourself...which sucks if you are in a cramped area of the bar. I'll definitely return to try the food and see what it's like at night when the city is lit up.

Love going here, they have been doing a beach with real sand. Been great for families and those looking for a post work or weekend adult beverages. Had some live music and DJ that draws people in. I've literally been there every Friday after work. Just moved to Detroit, spending the good weather outside is the way to go! Cheers.

Come to The Fountain Detroit for the best roasted veggie sandwich in Detroit! Roasted Summer Squash, Black Bean Schmere, Cilantro, Queso Oaxaca - I don't know either! Lol Google it! Chef C. Washington has done it again! Where ever he is farm to table food follows! Come with your family during the day and after 9pm is date night. Did I mention there is a sandbox to smush your toes in the sand? Yes, tables and chairs are in the sandbox to allow your time at the fountain to be a memorable experience. Great food, a tropical drink, great service and the choice of the patio or sand. The only thing missing is a beach ball and float!

Beachy, loud, crowded, and can be expensive. Come here knowing you'll be spending more than what you'd spend at other bars and that you'll get your drink in a plastic cup. Beach classy. The people ran out of the wine I ordered, so gave me another one and a taste of the one I ordered. That was cool. The music was a little too loud for my taste. I came here to hang out with friends and couldn't hear them.

Coolest place in The D!! It's a shipment container turned restaurant with kitchen and full bar, it's definitely a must see. The vibe is awesome with cool communal seating and lounge areas, the drinks (read: sangria) are out of this world! To eat, make sure to get the burger... It is two patties of deliciousness and no need for any ketchup thanks to their special sauce. I went for lunch and the place was swarming and then went for happy hour and the crowd was awesome, so glad it opened just in time for summer! The service was great and even the manager, Theo, stopped by to make sure we were having a great time.

The Fountain was a pretty cool spot! Decided to end our work day with the Kickoff of Beach Bash Thursday's! Great suggestion made by the Gurls! Especially, being minutes from the tunnel!! We enjoyed a little sand, bongo drums, a high top...some singing and fingers-a-snapping! There "Jams" came on alot-alot.....Um I dont get embarrassed easy...but it was definitely a Karaoke of a time! Oh my. Now for the yummy Tuna Tacos (they didn't quite make a photo), Chicken Wings x's 2 and Loaded Onion Rings! Such good choices...and the dipping sauces? Lets just say not one finger-food choice was left!.....which went very well with the Strawberry/Mango Kryptonite drinks we ordered!... called 'Detroit Vice' -- (so, so sooo good!!!) Lastly, a little sip-tip - there is a 1/2 off text "BEACH" drink special!! Inquire about it...And I would like to thank fountain for the on demand napkins...as well as the extra straws and limes.....Having a great time we did. Till our next visit!!

The fountain is an awesome little oasis in the downtown area of Detroit! A sandy beach bar in the middle of business buildings! There was a great DJ playing awesome music. The drinks were delicious, and not super expensive, but a bit pricey. The mango frozen drink, despite its artificial orange color, was absolutely delicious!! It was extremely busy around 3pm on a Saturday, with families and children. But still a nice time. This would be a great place for an after work drink.

Environment was fun and I especially enjoyed the live music. I came with a large group and we were able to get seated quickly, which was a plus. From 6-8:30pm, there were a lot of young children and families in the beach area which was unexpected. Our food took over an hour to come and we ended up going to order drinks at the bar separately because we could never find our waitress. I ordered a chicken caprese sandwich that was very very okay and my strawberry daiquiri slushy tasted like all sugar and was undrinkable. Lastly, all of the images on Yelp as of this post do not reflect the current menu they are using. None of the menus posted are accurate either.

The summer fountain bar has to be the worst drink experience e both have ever had. 30$ got us a watered down Flat gin and tonic, with no brand on the type of gin.. it just said "gin" on a bottle. The tonic had 0 bubbles in it. The second cocktail we got was almost worse. The liquor was weaker than the first one, tasting of just terrible cucumbers. For 15$. We were appalled and couldn't believe we wasted the money we had to drink here. We abandoned the drinks and left. How unfortunate

Always a great place to go and hang out. The drinks are a little on the expensive side. Can always go to a bar around the block and be cheaper. The atmosphere is amazing with being in the middle of the city. So if you are visiting and want to check out a place I would definitely recommend this place. Can sit on the patio or you can dip your feet in some sand. Kid friendly place with security around. Depending on the time of day it may be busy as they do events at Canpus Martius.

Aside from the locale and the fact that this is one of a few downtown patios I didn't love this place. I expected it to be mobbed on a nice day. That's realistic and totally acceptable. What I didn't like was the service, the lack of cleanliness and the overall bussing service. The bartender was kind of rude and not so knowledgeable about the actual drink menu. Their drinks are also wicked expensive. Beyond that, we were able to find a seat at a communal type table but it was never bussed so they're were someone else's empty drinks in our faces the entire stay. They overall cleanliness isn't so well maintained either. I came, I saw, and I'm good.

The Fountain is nestled right in the heart of Downtown Detroit's bustling resurgence. Located at Campus Martius it is sitting right on a little sandy oasis in the middle of the city near The Beacon where several free summer concerts are held. The location is amazing as well as the scenery. The positivity about it stops there though. The drinks are poorly mixed and most of the food looks to be long pre-prepped or not authentic at all. Honestly the fare was multiple steps below even the lowest ranked chain restaurant. It's a shame because the location is so perfect! The service was friendly also! Just increase the quality of the food and find a bartender that knows how to mix drinks. I wouldn't be surprised to find out that the drinks are all pre-mixed and just poured out of a pitcher. Disappointing but still a great location. I'll try it again and see if my experience is different.

Great spot to hang out and listen to some live island music on a Friday night mixed with some great people watching. But beyond that I don't have much positive to note. They seem very unorganized, hostess sat us at a table but it was at least 20 mins until we saw a server and another 10 til he got our drink order. The food menu is pretty small and the salad I got just wasn't good at all for costing $17! The worst part is that they don't have bathrooms and your forced to use a disgusting porta potty! If I'm paying $9-$12 for a drink and $17 for a salad I expect a damn bathroom and a place to wash my hands!

You definitely pay for the location, but on a sunny day it can't be beat. We came on a Saturday and got beer wine and nachos. The nachos tasted like there was an u expected spice on them, maybe curry... We liked it though! The vibes are great here. It was busy so service was a little slow but our server was very nice.

This place is just cool! They took a shipping container and made it into a bar & grill right on Campus Martius, with a deck and patio seating, complete with a sandy beach! I was very content and happy just sitting under a patio umbrella, sipping a Stroh's from a can, watching all the worker bees @ noon fly about from lunch and meetings, etc. It felt like a great time to be down in Detroit and this place makes you feel like you in an oasis in the middle of the concrete jungle of downtown. I had the ballpark nachos, which were subpar even to Comerica Park nachos; they just had stale chips and not enough cheese and salsa, but we were pretty hungry so we knocked those down. I wanted an IPA but all they had was Goose Island; whats with a Chicago beer taking the place of say a Bell's or Atwater or any other amazing brewery in Michigan? Kinda sad. The cuban sandwich was pretty good and the Strohs tasted awesome on such a hot day. Great spot to pregame prior to the Tigers afternoon game! I'm definitely going to come back and enjoy this patio again, hopefully before it closes up shop for winter and I'll bring some friends to check it out too!

Last week I went to this place and ordered the Fountain salad wirh salmon. It was delicious! Perfectly grilled salmon tender, moist. Not over cooked. It was so good I went there yesterday (6/14/17) hoping for an equally amazing experience. This was not the case!! I ordered my lunch to go. When I got to my office I found a hard, dried out hockey puck of piece of sad salmon. It was try rubbery and was like it was pre cooked from a day or two ago. It certainly wasnt burned or anything to indicate it was over cooked. It had almost no grill marks. Additionally, its like they started making the wrong salad and instead of starting over they just threw in extra stuff ontop of what was wrong. I have to say some people have food ALLERGIES and this is why we depend on you making the food accurately according to the menu!! There was quinoa in my salad with other stuff, that I couldn't identify. I avoid grains for several reasons but I know I wont die from them but I still have some reactions to them. I can certainly say I am beyond disappointed! The first time round the cook was attentive to what he was cooking. This time around the main cook was off in a corner fidgeting with his phone and someone else was "cooking" my dead salmon. I definitely wont be going back for a $17.00 salad that I basically threw away. Don't present yourself as this more upscale restaurant, and then serve your patrons crap. There are definitely way better restaurants around campus martius who have consistent quality. If you eat here just expect it to be a hit or miss. I work down here and have tried almost all the places around. There are better places that will cost way less for lunch!!

Go for the atmosphere, not the food. To be clear, the chicken salad wrap was pretty good, but the size was small and the fries were totally underwhelming. Great outdoor seating to enjoy a beautiful day, but definitely better food options around. Also edited to add: I just got my bill and French fries are a $4 surcharge!!! Definitely not worth it, I barely ate half.

This is such a great spot for afternoon/evening drinks and food! My husband and I come to The Fountain at the Campus Martius beach nearly every weekend. Live music, DJ, and dancing along with a great selection of beer, wine and cocktails! There is real sand with plenty of places to sit and kids to play in the sand! An outstanding evening for all ages!!!! This beach bar is a MUST do for anyone in Detroit!

I visited this place during my trip to Detroit. It's a pretty fun spot to hang out with friends. You can sit at the bar or at the couch or if you want to feel the beach vibe, you can sit in the sand (which I think it's pretty cool). Everything is outdoor & the overall vibe is very pleasant. We ordered Detroit vice drink & coconut shrimps. Both turned out pretty well.

We had lunch with a group of 4 on a Sunday with perfect weather. I was excited to explore a really fun spot with good friends. The day didn't start well with poor service and a slow bar. How does it take 20 minutes to make a vodka water? The rest of the drinks where fine, except they were completely out of lemons and limes. The BBQ chicken drumsticks were good. The baby backs ribs were not tender or tasty. The kicker was a loud drunk spilling drinks, dancing like an idiot, harassing most of the women at tables, and even ripped off flowers from the plants to give to them. Even after a complaint to a manager, nothing was done for the 2 hours we were there. This should have been so much better.

Went yesterday. Service is very slow. Ordered at the counter. Was only two people behind the counter, could probably benefit from 3-4 people. Or at least one person strictly taking food orders and two bartenders. Just seemed a mess. Food was blah. Got chicken sliders, bbq wings and Zorba's fries. Sliders literally looked like they cut a chicken tender in half and slapped a pickle and lettuce on it. Wings were kinda gross. Fries were okay but should've been cooked a little longer. Was not pleased. Glad it wasn't super expensive.

The Fountain Detroit was our third stop on the Detroit Area Art Deco Society's 2017 Detroit Wine Stroll. The GM Gabe offered to take our pictures, asked us questions, was really nice and caring. He is part of what is right with not just the city - but in life in general. If everyone was as welcoming and kind as Gabe is, we would all be a better whole. Campus Martius is an extremely fun place to just hang out in and enjoy libations and some good at The Fountain Detroit.

Edited to respond to the owner: thanks for the clarification on the altercation. I have no issue with enforcing the closing time, but with how i was treated by your staff, which you did not address. As far as cutting off those who have had too much to drink, I had only 1 drink as did most of my group. Some of my group was not drinking at all including 1 very visibly pregnant coworker. I had ordered a second beer but due to staff attitude, the altercation and the strict closing policy that says you must chug a drink if you order at last call, I left it entirely full. This isn't about the food because I didn't try that. The bouncers at the bar were the absolute rudest people I have ever encountered in my entire life. They called last call and I asked if we had to leave at that time or if we could still finish our drink even if the bar part was closed (it's all outside so in my opinion a normal question). His response "I said last call so that means 15 minutes, unless you want it to be 5". Excuse me? I asked a very simple and innocent question. He then kicked our table out 2 minutes later to move to another table further away (3 down) saying that part was closed. At that point we were next to another group of about 10 middle aged people who were also treated horribly and apparently said something to the manager. THE MANAGER AND EMPLOYEES STARTED FIGHTING. I mean physically were in the corner pushing each other and others were around trying to break it up. What in the hell is this place. Cool concept in a cool area of the city but yikes x 100. Ps we weren't kids and it was a Wednesday at 10ish. I'm the youngest in my group of coworkers by 10 years and I'm 30.

To summarize, this place takes you knowing that they have a prime location and will get crowds regardless. I work right downtown and have been here a handful of times and have had very rude service at times and very great service other times, but the prices are insane for what you get. A can of PBR will run you $6 and a craft beer will run you around $10. Food is OK, but nothing to write home about and has very small portions and follows the same pricing theme. Burgers only come well-done and aren't something I'd recommend. If you just want to sit outside near the beach in Campus Martius, this is your spot, but don't expect value or great food by any means. There's plenty of great spots nearby that offer the same prices and their food, drink and service warrants it.

The summer is fast approaching and with it comes the outside delights of the Fountain Bistro. My son and hubby dined here today for lunch. Fountain Bistro is a tad bit cheesy. The sand adorning the lot next to the outside restaurant (I think the city put this here), is awesome for kids and adults seeking sand. The barely fit your butt chairs are a pain literally, but the cheese and I am not talking about their delightful cheese tray..the cheese comes in with the uniforms. White belt, and a turquoise shirt... I am so sorry staff of Fountain Street. Now back to the cheese tray. The jelly on the tray paired well with pears and different varieties of cheese. The frozen peach lemonade (adult drink) is way overpriced at $10.00. I love corridor sausage but their normal snappy delicious sausage was upstaged by the wonderful bun it was housed in. The onions were just as overcooked and soggy as my poor sausage leaving my sandwich with no crunch factor. The chips and salsa was delicious but again grossly overpriced. The salmon and poke taco was flavorless. A lime wedge would have done a great service to the plate. The chef was nice enough to make me a taster portion of their quinoa and faro salad. The faro clumped together to make a oatmeal like texture. I hate oatmeal..... My final critique goes to the worker eating food as he prepared plates at back of the food area. Hey you, no gloves, I see you. Deep sigh...I will return. My three strikes policy is in effect. It is a strike for now, but maybe next time they will turn my frown upside down.

This place was awesome! We got seated right away which was good, it took a few minutes to get our drinks orders because of miscommunication but our server Molly got it super quick! And even though they ran out of the poke tacos (it was toward closing time) Molly came out with her service manager Laura and they explained what had happened and took care of us, they even hooked it up with some really delicious BBQ from the 95.5 event. Molly and Laura had great smiles and seem like cool and genuine people whom really want to make sure you are having a great time. If you are downtown check this place out!

Okay so there is this location called campus martius in Detroit and inside during the summer a restaurant called the "Fountain". Well it's in a shipping container; "hip" right? Well it is kind of neat with sand and stuff. But if you want to eat food that goes inside you don't eat at the "fountain"! Literally the definition of a failed business model, very unclean, people sit inside the kitchen container on the floor doing dishes or whatever hopefully nothing with the food. Half the appetizer menu wasn't available and overpriced. Waited 20 minutes for a brat before walking out I let the girl know I couldn't wait any longer I needed to catch my shuttle. She asked me if I wanted my check? I told her again I waited for 20 minutes she then said let me get the manger she told him I had waited for the brat for twenty minutes he just stared at me. I left what a joke. Trying to believe in this Detroit thing but a $7 brat should be served in 10-15 minutes or so at the very longest. Hanging head in shame to have been suckered into waiting 20 minutes for nothing. Didn't even have plug in for my laptop!!!

Haven't been home in so long. Enjoying my time here. The Fountain is a nice spot in the heart of Detroit. Great drinks, great food & great music! Downtown is hip again! Lynn is a great dining ambassador. Felt proud being a Detroiter!

Sssssooooooo I'm at this place called the fountain and I must say that it is very much to be desired because the bartender is most definitely nasty yuck because he was touching peoples limes with his dirty hands and touching money all at once and not washing his hands at all yuck yuck yuck

I'm here visiting Detroit and decided to stop and grab a bite. I have my 8 month old daughter with me so I was so surprised they were kid friendly bc they had a Dj as well. But let me tell you, the food was awesome but what made my visit top of the line was the customer service. Krystal was my server and Keith was the manager. They really took care of me and I will definitely come back and tell more ppl. I ordered the mule, coney slider, chicken tacos and crinkle fries. Delicious. I ate the food and so fast, I forgot to take a picture.

Five steamed for service and vibe - what great energy this place has! Attended soft opening in first thirty minutes of the new place and I'm excited to come back. Fun drinks and light snacks, what an awesome place to hang out when you want to get your beach on in a downtown setting!

This is a great place downtown Detroit. The service was awesome and it's super chill. I would definitely come back!

The Fountain Detroit is a staple and one of the oldest monuments in the CBD. I've always loved this place, the atmosphere, the people, and for lunch it is my go to. Looks like the restaurant is under new management, and they brought in this cool storage container that is a high end bar and restaurant. They actually cook in the unit - it's unique, cool, and works for the D. The food is great, they have a fun and healthy menu, and I'm most impressed with the staff and service. They go out of their way to make sure the drinks are cold and they keep refilling my water - I appreciate that kind of attention. This is a perfect place to meet for a business lunch or a place to read a book and bury your toes in the sand. They have their own sandbox at the Fountain, and they know how to capitalize on their space. Live music, concerts, and a place to find your quiet time if you need it. I love this place and recommend it highly.

I have only been to this restaurant a couple times, but I gotta say everytime has been an amazing experience. Between the kitchen and the bar in the container...it's an experience like nothing else. I mean where else can you eat a delicious burger with nicely seasoned fries (get a side of the mojo sauce... It was so good you can drink the stuff) and still be able to enjoy the relaxing feeling of a beach and an ice cold beer in Detroit?!? Even the wait staff were professional funny and helpful. Food came quickly... I mean they were so busy that we were impressed with the attentiveness. I highly recommend this place, it is definitely worth the drive and the wait!! And the food is just as good when you take it home!

Wish Yelp would give half star options. My vote is 3.5! Pros: great atmosphere! Outside seating so this is definitely weather permitting. Good live band, has a beach area in the middle to watch and listen. Good selection of drinks, the frozen daiquiri's were good and strong. People watching is AMAZING. Cons: long line to get a drink at bar. Other side bars are cash only which is not acceptable. No bathrooms that I could find, port a potties only. We would go back, so I guess it was good!

I coordinated an after work /birthday event for a few co-workers, sorors & friends on the night of the reggae beach party, and the team at the Fountain made me look like I was an event planner! Everyone was so impressed with the tasty food & good drinks, the affordability, friendliness of the staff, and the LOCATION! I am so grateful for the level of professionalism from the staff and thankful for an absolutely wonderful evening!
