Google
It had been a few years wanting to try this place and I'm kicking myself for not doing it sooner. I am quite surprised it only has 300 ratings in 7+ years as it's so well located. It was a delightful experience. The pizza creations are definitely different (and they're phenomenal) - I think I'm going to try a different one every time I eat here. The brussel sprouts were big and delicious, some of the best I've had. Excellent service. Highly recommend!

Google
Pros-the food was good, service (Mary was our waitress) was excellent, and the outdoor seating was very nice. Cons-not sure when this became a thing but having only one size pizza seems ridiculous to me. The pizza was very small (included a photo). We also ordered the $16 prosciutto salad. Now I don’t mind paying a high price for food, assuming its full portioned and tasty. The salad was 99% arugula, maybe 2 cherry tomatoes cut in half, a little burrata cheese, and barely any prosciutto. If it was even 1 slice of prosciutto I’d be surprised. The food was good, but since the portions are small, 5 minutes after you leave, you’ll want to stop at McDonalds and get a Big Mac.

Google
Really wanted to love this place since such a unique setting and pretty outside. It’s a bit chaotic w not enough servers, no wait list and tables that don’t get cleared quickly. Overall service and wait time was disappointing. As for the food, pizzas have fresh ingredients and decent thin crust, but not excellent. Wine list very good.

Google
Great pizza 🍕 and amazing atmosphere. We sat on the outside patio and had a great time with friends. 🍷 Spectacular!

Google
So good. I'm never disappointed. Pizza is excellent, all of them, depending on ur topping preferences. Chopped salad and brussels sprouts are also perfection. The Fountain has quickly become my favorite neighborhood go-to spot. My picky eater toddler concurs.

Google
Picking up my to go order and having studied their website, the bruschetta was priced at $8.50. Picking up my order it was over $11.00 - hire someone to manage your website and keep it current. The bruschetta that I have had before with beautiful red tomatoes had small pieces of burnt toast and the palest tomatoes imaginable. We live in Florida and it’s summer where we have ripe tomatoes. I would be embarrassed to put the pale tomatoes on anything.

Google
A great quite place on entrance of downtown. We enjoyed seating right on Burn sq fountain having Good pizzas, salads and pasta. They have Good wine selection and cheese and meat board for drink also afternoon coffee and deserts. We stayed at Burn sq vacation apt above restaurant, we enjoyed the restaurant so much.

Google
Just wish they'd use fresh mushrooms on their amazing pizza. It makes a world of difference. It also makes a bit of a difference who's working because sometime they're an A and sometimes just a B I just wish magnificent pizza artisans didn't cheap out on ingredients. Very little cheese, very little ricotta and mushrooms canned. But still the best fresh pizza in town! Great place

Yelp
Our visit to The Fountain was during the Chalk Festival, so it was busy. Located at the point where Pineapple Ave angles off from Orange Ave, this is a small triangle shaped place with a fountain in front. They have seating both inside, I saw about 10 tables plus a few counter seats, and more tables outside by that fountain. We scored a two top and had lunch, splitting a Greek Salad and a South Sider Pizza. The salad included big pieces of feta cheese and was a nice start. Loved the pizza, it is one with many toppings including pepperoni, sausage, and ham. It was a personal size, probably 10", with strong flavors. My wife allowed me to eat most of it, so that was good. Service was friendly and attentive and the pizza was dropped off pipping hot. They have a TV that I could see from an angle that was showing the game. It was an excellent visit, except the Bucs lost on a last play field goal.

Yelp
Great place. Neighborhood place. Looks like some of the cafes you find in Italy. My go to place every month. Veggie pizza is excellent as is the Margherita. My fav however is the Burrata (Spaghetti). Excellent Stella on draft too!!

Yelp
After seeing the holiday light festival at Selby Gardens, we decided to have dinner for 9 without reservations... at 7:30 pm. The team here was very accommodating to host such a large group. We ordered several pizzas, a spaghetti and burrata and Caesar salads for the table. The entire crew was very satisfied. My pizza, "The Bee Sting" was topped with mozzarella, fresh tomato sauce, pepperoni, garlic, red chili peppers, and honey. Spicy & sweet. It was delicious! The pizzas are individually sized, 10-12 inches in diameter. Quaint cafe like atmosphere with seating inside and out. I recommend.

Yelp
Very welcoming staff and wonderful food. Great outdoor dining patuo and we were able to bring our dog.

Yelp
We came in for dinner en route to Selby Gardens with a party of six, after making a reservation. When we arrived they had to rearrange tables and move storage to fit us in - right next to the bathroom entrance. Poor planning. Lose a star for not being ready for your reservations. The place was busy, and it was on the cool side, so inside was more full than the patio. The patio looks like the place to be. The menu is focused on tapas and pizza, and everything we had was good. The meatballs were a table favorite. The Margherita pizza was sparsely topped and did not garner praise. The wine list is solid, with almost everything priced under $50 a bottle. BYO was discouraged. Apparently, happy hour is popular, snd probably drives much of the biz. On our way out at 7, the bar had filled, and included the owner...never a good sign. Ok but not compelling.

Yelp
Came here with some friends for dinner. It is in a cute neighborhood with lots of sidewalk art and a "latin" architectural vibe. Pros: the bruschetta was very fresh and well seasoned. The brussel sprouts were flavorful and had a nice caramelization. Each pizza is personal sized and comes with an option of gluten free cauliflower crust. The zesty za pizza had a rich meaty flavor. Cons: the truffle pizza had a nice truffle aroma although it was clearly from truffle infused oil and not the real deal. I got the cauliflower crust and it was brunt on the edges and the egg yolk in the center was firm and not runny. Had the yolk been runny, one could spread it throughout the pizza to add another depth to the flavor. Overall, decent place for a quick dinner/brunch due to their wide drink selection, appetizers, and quick service, but could use more improvements in pizza flavor if they want to claim the title of "best pizza in sarasota".

Yelp
Good local spot off the main drag in downtown. Indoor and outdoor seating options. Casual atmosphere. Good service, excellent pizza, and enough menu variety to please all. Will definitely return.

Yelp
What a fun spot. My second time here! Decided on the Chop Salad with a Preseco. The dressing absolutely complimented the kale to perfection. The outdoor dining around the fountain was totally delightful. Amazing service by Margaret. The salad was awesome. The key lime pie was okay. I prefer a more tart taste with less whipped cream. But still a solid

Yelp
I really enjoy the Fountain for a calm evening of exceptional pasta or pizza. My favorites are PJs special: pizza w regular crust or cauliflower, or penne (add bacon to the pizza to make it even more yummy!)! The tiramisu is amazing, and they have a great wine bar. Partner those with outdoor seating and a great staff, and it's sure to be a delightful night in Sarasota!

Yelp
We found this while searching Yelp and we fell in love!! The outside (and inside) was so cute. There was a huge line of artwork outside of the building that had QR codes for a chalk art walk. Very cool for kids and adults! All salads we got were perfect and just the right size for us. If I didn't get a pizza I would definitely have gotten a fully Greek salad. So so tasty! One of the best I've had in a while. Our party talked about both pizzas for the next few days after eating them. Omg so amazing. The veggie pesto was a dream!!! I could eat this every week and not get sick of it. Highly recommend stopping by this place for lunch or dinner.

Linda D.

Yelp
Had Lunch of 1/2 bacon/avocado/turkey sandwich and bowl of Tomato "Blue" soup The tomatoe soup had no salt, no pepper, no taste. It was like someone had dumped tomatoe sauce and heated it. I didn't finish. The sandwich was skippy on bacon, and avocado and on tasteless bread.

Yelp
Food and service was excellent!! Charming! One of our best meals while in Sarasota this week. Thanks you Margaret and staff!! C

Yelp
This place is pretty legit. We came here because Owens fish camp across the street was jam packed. We were starved because we had just finished playing 6 hours of ultimate frisbee st a tournament. Waiting 30-60 minutes wasn't gonna cut it. So, we looked at to what was nearby and found this gem. They had decent Indoor seating and a nice setup outside. I think they were understaffed with on waitress maybe two, but they did a fantastic job. We ordered pizzas and pretty much everyone devoured theirs. On a normal day, I think my young son and I could split one. But if 2 adults or a hungry teen, you'd need to get more. I didn't order any wine unfortunately and should have as their beer selection is very limited. I think all they had was 4 on tap. So if you are tired of waiting or want good pizza at an efficient place, stop by.

G L.

Yelp
Great location, limited menu but everything I've eaten there has been good, service is as expected no complaints, cute local place definitely worth checking out.

Yelp
Excellent food and Service. Always quick and a relaxing atmosphere. I've had Pizza from all over the country; this place is in my top 3 for Pizza. I've been to the Pizza House in Ann Arbor, MI. L&B Spumoni Gardens in Brooklyn, NY. Pequod's Pizza in Chicago. Pizzeria Mozzarella in Los Angeles, CA. This place is right up there. Enjoy the food and make sure to say hi to the owners Patrick and Greg!

Yelp
Charming neighborhood spot. Located in the Burns court area with a beautiful patio to enjoy a crisp salad and a pizza. Monday night is 1/2 off pizza night. Great deal and a great meal If you are looking for a place to grab a bite and have a drink The Fountain is a nice change of pace
google avatar

Salome P.

Yelp
I enjoyed the option of adding avocado to my pizza but it was so bland. There was nothing special and no good actual taste. Nice aesthetic of the place but nothing actually good.

Carey L.

Yelp
Friendly staff and great food. Went on a Tuesday evening with 2 adults and 1 toddler. We ordered a margherita pizza, vegetarian pasta with veggies, and a salad. Everything was delicious and they even replaced the pasta and a glass of wine when our kiddo knocked a plate into the wine glass and it broke all over the table and into the pasta mid-meal. :o Specials on drinks and some food items on Tuesdays too, so that was an added bonus the day we went. Solid food and great staff. Definitely recommend!

Melissa D.

Yelp
Friendly staff. Good wine selection with fare pricing. Awesome lunch special offered daily til 4pm. The turkey and Brie sandwich is amazing.

Yelp
We had lunch yesterday at The Fountain before a movie at Burns Court. The food was delicious and the service was great. We had the Veggie sandwiches and the spinach salad. Both had fresh ingredients and were very filling. Atmosphere was wonderful sitting outside:). We will definitely return!

Yelp
This place was a great lunch place to grab a personal pizza. I'm a pizza snob from the pizza capital of the USA and I wasn't upset with the product. I bit pricy for the size but like I said, you can't find good pizza down here. I would recommend this place definitely and will be back. The service was good and the girls are personable. The dough was decent and the would definitely Recommend this joint.

Samantha B.

Yelp
We have been eating here for years now. AND WE WILL NEVER RETURN. We walked in and were told to sit where ever. Each server looked at us and not once for 10 minutes sitting there did one even acknowledged us! I stood up and looked around and again made eye contact with each server.. no communication. So we got up and left and again no word from anyone. The last time we were there we had a similar experience. Horrible. I wish I could give them zero stars.
google avatar

Christian G.

Yelp
The smothered meatballs tasted like they had been frozen and just put in the microwave. For a place boasting they have the best pizza in Sarasota The pepperoni pizza wasn't very good either. The bottom was very floury and had an undone taste to it. Also as a little side note, how can a place in the south not have fresh brewed sweet tea.
google avatar

John H.

Yelp
After a month of passing this place everyday I finally stopped in and I am glad I did! I took my Fiancée, we sat outside surrounded by greenery and good music. We ordered the meatiest pizza we could as well as a Caesar salad to split. Let's start with the salad. Some of the freshest lettuce I have ever tasted, beautifully topped with fresh cheese and perfectly dressed. Not drowning but just the right amount for maximum flavor. Now the pizza, all the toppings tasted like they were cooked and prepped that day. The cheese was deliciously melted and the crust was the perfect amount of baked but not charred. This place has perfected the pizza and they deserve the boast just as the sign out front says "the best pizza in Sarasota" and they aren't wrong. Our server was excellent, gave us plenty of attention but not over bearing. Always topped off our waters and drinks and was well mannered and friendly. I have taken 3 friends here since my first visit a month ago and plan on returning at least once a month. Iv always sat outside to look at the beautiful fountain and enjoy the downtown SRQ vibes!
google avatar

Michael M.

Yelp
There is a sign out front asking if you have tried Sarasota's best pizza yet. Well I'm a sucker for that kind of claim. Sort of like when Will Ferrell finds the Worlds best coffee in the movie ELF. This isn't the best pizza in Sarasota. It's ok. At $15 for a pretty small pizza, I expected wood fire grilled. Instead it was more like a good frozen craft pizza from Whole Foods. The veggies were steamed not grilled and overall just ok. Nothing special. The location is cool in Burns court area. Love the building and outdoor seating. Not sure why so many places change here over the years.

Yelp
Thanks to Dawn at Brewster's Tavern for the great recommendation! We eat with our eyes first; this isn't only about the food, but the atmosphere as well. If you were to take away the thick green potted plants that creates an outdoor patio this isn't a great space for outdoor dining, right on the corner of a busy road. However, the owners did a fantastic job of using greenery and umbrellas to insulate their little spot creating an inviting and relaxing environment. Everything was fresh, from the salads to the pizza and toppings. Everyone knows the pizza fold, you fold it in half and let the grease drip down the plate to avoid it going down your arm while eating... Not here, this pizza was fresh and not greasy at all. The crust was crisp and had those amazing pockets of air in them with occasional burnt goodness from being cooked in a coal oven. It wasn't overly cheesy or saucy. It was a good balance of cheese sauce and crust, which is the best because not one element is overpowering the others and/or hiding the mediocre ingredient(s). Not one element of the food was mediocre, everything was impressive. The staff was quick and friendly. You could tell they were aware that this was a lunch crowd and were very nice, but efficient, respecting others' time.

Yelp
Loved it!! They have quite a following now... so plan ahead accordingly. The appetizers were excellent ("Caribbean shrimp", grilled veggies and brussel sprouts), followed by 2 delicious and perfectly cooked poizza (see pics) . This place has had several incarnations over the last couple years, but these folks know how to cook and provide great service. The wine list was also very good - we had the Stonypoint Pinot Noir - showing good taste at a good price point here as well. Highly recommend - get there early to eat inside with AC

Sean D.

Yelp
I had heard the pizza was excellent and it was good but not excellent. Service was adequate but the overall mood of the staff was miserable. Nobody even pretended not to be unhappy. Great location.
google avatar

Gia V.

Yelp
Never order the VEGGIE under hot pressed sandwiches. Not only was it not hot pressed - it was the smallest salad on top of pita bread. Bit of lettuce few slices of onion small amount of feta and some squares of tomato. WTF!? $15 with tip. I wanted to say someone but I didn't so I'm here on Yelp. I've been there before and it's over hyped. Nice area nice atmosphere okay food and okay service.
google avatar

Morgan R.

Yelp
A decent little restaurant for soups, salad or pizza. We got a kale salad with chicken, a spinach salad with chicken, a pepperoni pizza, and tomato soup (with bleu cheese). All were good. The drinks (Coke, iced tea) were standard. Not a bad little place to go for lunch.
google avatar

Paul B.

Yelp
we asked a local at breakfast where to grab a pizza and this is what they recommended and so glad we took their advice, great pizza and great service we walked from the Ritz about a mile each way was easy and simple our server was from Northeast good kid great attitude and we loved it
google avatar

David S.

Yelp
Great location and enjoyed the outdoor dining. It's what you would expected from a downtown Sarasota restaurant. Prices were a little steep based on portion and service was on the slow side. We weren't in a hurry but with only one other table seated in the restaurant slow service is something worth mentioning. Only one size pizza to choose from. No complaints, no raving fan. Food was good and it was an average, meh, experience.

Jane R.

Yelp
A cute spot, the food was good but took almost an hour to get our food (salads). Service was very poor. You could tell from the beginning our server did not want to serve us. We sat with empty drinks while we ate our food. Overall not a good experience

Christopher H.

Yelp
I've been coming here regularly for a over a year but no more. The staff knows me but went ahead and seated people who arrived after me. Why? Oh they put their name down first. Oh the staff didn't see me waiting even though I was six feet away and they know me well enough to order my meal without bothering to ask. The attitude from the staff was that the restaurant didn't need regulars because it was high season tourist time. Guess that means no regulars off season.
google avatar

Andrew L.

Yelp
Had a few small plate appetizers tonight. Very good. The roasted brussel sprouts and sautéed broccolini. I have tried nearly everything and have never been disappointed. Great pizza and pastas too. The meatballs are excellent. Great beer and wine specials. The service is top notch too.

mary f.

Yelp
Attentive and professional staff. Great food and delish drinks. The flourless chocolate cake is diviiiiine. Lovely outdoor seating.

Bruce P.

Yelp
I've gone to the Fountain Kitchen and Wine Bar many times, both in person and to take away food. We've always been pleased with the food and service. This evening the person who answered the phone there first hung up on me, then when I called back she said "I would have to call back later" because she was too busy to take my order. Disappointing customer service.

Debra A.

Yelp
It's my birthday and I requested bruschetta. I was told they don't have the ingredients even though it would be on the menu in an hour. Deliberately uncooperative. I never will go there again.
google avatar

Durwood W.

Yelp
This is the second time we've been to the fountain within a couple of weeks. WE LOVE this place. It is small and quaint. We have only eaten lunch here. But the lunch special with a salad and a small pizza is perfect. The salad was fresh and the pizza was one of the best I have ever had. We live in port charlotte but whenever we come up to Sarasota we both look forward to visiting the fountain. The service is also outstanding. They have a beautiful patio with huge umbrellas and lots of plants.
google avatar

George E.

Yelp
Great , comfortable, corner stop. Wait staff very good. Pizza Romero's to be best in area.
google avatar

Vic A.

Yelp
What a wonderful, charming place. We sat outside and enjoyed a pizza and the penne pasta with pesto sauce. The server was wonderful, and we will be back to try more menu items.
google avatar

Darla S.

Yelp
Wonderful! Conveniently located to our hotel, the pizzas were fresh, the service was great. Would go back for some pasta dishes next time. They did only have 4 meatballs, so we ordered two but thought it strange there weren't more. But what we had was great.
google avatar

Kristian B.

Yelp
The Fountain is a cute little wine bar, but definitely nothing mind-blowing. The location was nice in that it was very calm and quiet. My family was seated outside, in front of the namesake "Fountain", which unfortunately wasn't running. The pizza was ok, but not what we expected for the price. My dad and uncle (both gluten-intolerant) were not fans of their gluten-free crusts.

Dejan R.

Yelp
One of the worst pizza's in Sarasota for what they charge. Mind you this is in the middle of hurricane Ian. My first time there I ordered 1 margarita pizza ( cheese and pepperoni) and a white pizza ( one size only medium). First of all they over charged me by 25 dollars when the bill came. They added stuff to my bill that I never ordered. For a example they added gluten free crust which I never ordered. ( didn't even know that existed ) 2.00 extra. 5.00 extra on my bill if it's take out. They added a 8.00 charge for something called ( add on food order) If I wasn't paying attention ( which thank god I was ) Second I was so frustrated by the service I just wanted to pay my bill and leave because my blood pressure was going up by the second. Never ever ever go and eat there. They are awful. Do a triple take of your bill if you do.

Joanne C.

Yelp
I've only come here twice, the tuna fish is delicious, so good I came back for it again. I've had it in the kale salad, which was delicious on it's own and again in a sandwich.
google avatar

Bill D.

Yelp
We were in the neighborhood and decided to try this for a late lunch. The food was great and the draft beer I selected was excellent. They have a great wine selection and a variety of beers. We'll be back!
google avatar

Ashley L.

Yelp
Enjoyed lunch at this little bar in cute area of downtown Sarasota. Service was efficient and friendly. I think she had the entire restaurant by herself at lunch and she did a great job managing everything. Our salad and pizza were both delicious. Would definitely come back if I'm area for another casual lunch. Reasonably priced and generous portions.
google avatar

Mike M.

Yelp
Very good homemade rustic pizza. Yes it's a little pricey but the quality of food and flavors were excellent. Service was also very good - we'll be back.

Ozlem P.

Yelp
$17 + Tip, $20 White pizza on a Monday night (supposedly half of pizzas). Two pieces of artichokes like a joke (- The employee who took our order was extremely rude. Won't recommend it, and will never go there again.
