10 Spots to Sip a Perfectly-Crafted Old Fashioned Outside the Atlanta Perimeter | Eater

"The Fountain is a stylish locale — just look at those wood beams and button-tiled bar — located in historic downtown Acworth. During Old Fashioned Week, you can choose your own adventure with your choice of the classic Fountain Old Fashioned, made with Elijah Craig Small Batch, citrus-infused demerara syrup, and Angostura and Peychaud’s Bitters, or the Café Old Fashioned with Elijah Craig Small Batch, coffee syrup made with locally-roasted Ethiopian beans, and orange cream bitters. Enjoy whichever one you choose alongside bar bites like the chimichurri pork loin with veggies." - Vox Creative

We had a fantastic experience at The Fountain Room. It’s definitely high-end dining, and the food was excellent from start to finish. We made reservations and were seated at a great table. The staff was welcoming, and our waitress was both informative and friendly. We were celebrating my wife’s birthday, and they truly made it special—including treating us with a brownie. Highly recommend!

Google
The food was absolutely amazing as was the service and decor. Loved the lasagna. If you are a mushroom fiend like me it’s a must try. The acrobatic men wallpaper in the men’s bathroom is fantastic. Loved that they offer tooth piks and mouthwash in the bathroom. Our waitress was the sweetest gal and even gave us a free dessert for our anniversary. We sat upstairs and it was so peaceful and relaxing. This is my new favorite place when visiting Indy . If you have a chance to go DO IT! You will love it.

Absolutely delicious!. The prime rib was almost pork tender and the lobster bisque was very rich with chunks of lobster. Wait staff didn't miss a beat and were very friendly and attentive. My dad enjoyed his meatloaf and my daughter loved her king crab that was already pre-split.

From the moment we walked in we felt comfortable. The hostess was friendly and we were seated quickly. We came in for my husbands birthday and they provided him a signed card as we checked it. For appetizers we had the Brie brûlée. It was delicious. We also had the crab and lobster dip. Very creamy and cheesy. Loved both appetizers. Entrees my husband had the sea bass that he loved. It was cooked perfectly. I had the salmon dish that blew my mind. All of the flavors mixed well together. Every dish was well worth it. Service was also top tier!!!

Made a reservation for my birthday dinner while we were in town. Had the best experience! Staff was amazing and I had the most delicious scallops I’ve ever tasted! My partner got the meatloaf which was also amazing

Google
I absolutely enjoyed the service and atmosphere at The Fountain Room. I had the filet and lobster tail with mash potatoes and Brussels. The food quality was good but the steak was absent any real flavor. The lobster tail was perfect! Our server was great, attentive and patient. She also was very personable but not in a forced kind of way.

I had an absolutely fantastic dining experience at this gem in downtown Indianapolis. The ambiance was intimate and inviting—dark, quaint, and with the feel of a cozy parlor, perfect for a special evening. Our waitress, Chelsea, was exceptional, providing thoughtful recommendations that made our meal even better. We started with the spaghetti and meatballs appetizer, which was incredible—rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. For the main course, I had the prime rib cooked medium-rare, and it was perfection. The Brussels sprouts were a standout side—well-seasoned, and packed with flavor. To finish, we enjoyed the chocolate mousse paired with espresso—an indulgent and satisfying way to end the night. The food was phenomenal, the service outstanding, and the company even better. This is definitely a place I’d return to, especially for a special occasion with my spouse. Highly recommend!

I made my reservation to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday and everything from the moment we walked through the door was over my expectations. All staff we had a chance to interact with were very friendly and accommodating. They even had a signed birthday card waiting for us to arrive! Our server was Stone and he was exceptional! I did request a surprise dessert at the end of our meal and he made sure that was perfect, his timing was impeccable all night. But the food…. We orders the lobster dip (if you like seafood this is a great pick), focaccia and butter (20/10 btw) and the meatballs ( to die for!!) the star of the show… the short rib over grits…. Speechless to say the least the meat was literally shredding off the bone. We also ordered the Brussels and Mac and cheese both are amazing shareable sides, but last and most importantly no matter how full you are… order the tres leches!! You will never regret it. Thank you to the Fountain Room and their staff for making our stay so memorable! I will continue to rave about this place!

Yelp
Best Prime Rib I've ever experienced. The vibe is nice. Great anniversary dinner! We will definitely go back.

Yelp
The food here is fantastic, there is only one place better for steaks and that is also in Indianapolis... I'm a fan of the Ribeye and they did not disappoint, juicy, flavorful, and tender; combined with the truffle fries and garlic butter, it was terrific. The classic feel and comfortable atmosphere simply added to the experience. What made the evening unforgettable was Jules, our server for the night. She not only had the warmest smile and sparkling eyes, she made everyone feel extremely comfortable and welcome. Jules spoke with us about the convention as if she herself was attending, and her service was first rate. Highly recommend for a superior quality dinner.

Yelp
Aug, Saturday at 12:30pm - Brunch Decor and Ambiance: 5/5 - This is a really cool place with a high-end feel. The decor is stunning, with lots of light stained wood and plenty of natural light, creating a warm, inviting atmosphere. One cool note, they told me the ambient music was being played on a vintage reel-to-reel table player, which was visible behind the counter at the receptionists desk. Cool feature! Cappuccino: 5/5 - The cappuccino was excellent! Great presentation and a delicious taste. Get one. Cinnamon Roll Starter: 3/5 - The cinnamon roll starter had beautiful presentation, complete with a lovely flower on top. Unfortunately, the rolls were overdone-to-burnt, giving them a strong burnt flavor. The creamy sauce that came with it was fantastic! But we ended up leaving one of the rolls uneaten. The Fountain Room Spread: 3/5 - This dish had an okay presentation. It came with toast, but no jelly, which might be fine if you enjoy sopping up yolk from over-easy eggs. I ordered over-medium eggs, but over easy eggs arrived. When I mentioned this, they brought new batch that was much better. The potatoes were ok, but may have suffered from siting on a steamer pan or heat lamp too long. I ended up leaving most of them. The bacon was also pretty done, but I ate it on principle lol Overall my initial plate seemed to struggle to hit the mark regarding doneness, with under cooked initial eggs and overcooked potatoes and cinnamon rolls. Chicken and Waffles: 5/5 - This dish was excellent! The presentation was on point, and the spice level was mild but perfect--smooth and just the right amount of heat without being overwhelming. The portion size was generous, so be prepared to take some home! Staff: 5/5 - The staff here is incredibly friendly and helpful. When I mentioned my eggs and rolls, they brought me a new order of eggs and even took 50% off the rolls, she also comped the cappuccino. We didn't ask for any of that, which made the service feel even more exceptional. Accessibility: 4.5/5 - The restrooms are well decorated and accessible, but note the upstairs seating/event space doesn't have HC access. Additionally, the main entry and restroom doors do not have a power-open feature that I saw. That said, the restrooms themselves are spacious, clean, and functional, with a low urinal option and appropriate grab bars in both the men's and women's restrooms. 30.5/35 = 4.3 which rounds to 4 stars. Apologies, I was there with a very pretty lady so I totally forgot to get a pic of the menu.

Yelp
The food: average to great. The Brie Brule was the standout and was amazing! The Brule'd part on the top gave it a crunch and sweetness that was unexpected and wonderful. The green beans were also a very unexpected high point of the meal. The burger was a solidly average burger. Unfortunately, I do not like seafood so I didn't try the lobster & crab dip or the crab cake but others in my group seemed to like them. The drinks: the strawberry margarita was great, although they were out of the garnish. We were told it was very cute but I'll never know. The service: it was just okay, I would have ordered a second drink but our waitress didn't come back for so long we were done by the time she came back so I didn't order a second. Not really what I would expect from a restaurant priced the way The Fountain Room is. The atmosphere: relaxed, retro vibe. We sat in the bar and it was nice.

Yelp
Went to The Fountain Room for brunch and the space is absolutely beautiful, such a well-designed restaurant with a great atmosphere. I've actually been three times now, each at a different time of day, because I really wanted to love it. Unfortunately, the service has been consistently just okay to disappointing. The food, while presented nicely, tends to lack flavor. For brunch, we shared a cinnamon roll and I had the biscuits and gravy. Both were just okay. I did enjoy the mimosa, it was probably the highlight of the meal. Overall, it's a great spot for ambiance, but the food and service haven't quite lived up to expectations.

Yelp
This is our second visit to The Fountain Room. The restaurant is beautifully decorated inside and perfect for a date night. The meal and drinks never disappoint. We enjoyed the hanger steak and chicken. Service is always friendly and attentive.

Yelp
My friends and I decided to come in here for a birthday party and we're not disappointed! We got sat by the friendly staff very quickly and once sat were greeted by an even more lovely waitress. She took our drink and food orders and we ordered some breads and the crab cakes to start. Both were good but not great. Then we ordered our meals. Burgers, pasta, chicken, etc. The Wagyu burger was amazing! Would highly recommend. The pasta and chicken were also on point. Overall what brought this to a 5 star was the awesome ambience of the restaurant. It felt fancy and welcoming at the same time. We will be back for sure

Yelp
The restaurant is very beautiful and well decorated on the inside! I really loved the aesthetic of the place. The service was great, and our waitress was very attentive. The food was okay. I had the brisket hash. It was good, but overall was kind of dry. I asked for a garlic aioli to go on the potatoes, and it made them better. The waffle was also dry even though I slathered it in butter and syrup. The batter was very dense, so it didn't absorb the butter and syrup very well.

Yelp
Our waitress and drinks were amazing. The crab and lobster dip was delicious. Our problem was with the main course. I got the petite filet medium rare. When it came out it was solidly cooked through, to a medium/ medium well. I sent it back, the cook sent her back out and told me it was the lighting and in the middle it would be cooked correctly. I paid 50$ for a steak, the middle shouldn't be the only part of the steak that is cooked correctly. I kept it because I did not want to put the waitress in the middle of this with the cook. My husband got the prime rib. It was luke warm and over cooked. Again we didn't want send back because we had already sent mine back and they brought it back. It was $60. Everything was edible but with these prices, it felt more like Outback steak cooks vs a steakhouse.

Yelp
... An extra star is worth how I felt being there and why it has made itself into my top 5 favorite spots. Maybe it was just what I needed in that moment, so everything hit just right but does there need to be a reason to happy? It's located on Mass Ave, off to the left, as you are walking towards the garage. I love the decor. It's dark but full of Amber lighting and colors. It's retro and vintage. It had me at hello as soon as I walked in. We were greeted & got a seat immediately on Saturday afternoon which was wonderful! The hostess was personable, helpful and very friendly, also wonderful. We didn't know we could get hot towels at request so we took advantage of that and it really made me feel like I was treating myself! I loved that it came with lemon for a fresh clean feel and scent. Definitely get it! The food... I got the wagyu burger and whoa was it tasty. It was very tender & lightly seasoned. It would have been even better if it had a chargrilled taste but still was juicy and the compliment of the bacon and jam... it was good. It came w/ fries but I opted for garlic truffle fries and this was the only place where the garlic was not overpowering. The French toast is loaded with all the fruit's & caramel. Which was surprising but all the fruit went perfectly. I didn't stop there, I ordered chocolate cake to go that comes with coffee ice cream but it melted before I could eat it but the cake was great too! It came with gold flakes and popcorn. It was not heavy, it was smooth and delicious. I'm probably going to be here every other Sunday lol Please go try them for yourself!

Yelp
The food was amazing, it was so many choices I couldn't make up my mind. Our server was great and the place is beautiful. When I go back to Indy I will try other options.

Yelp
The good: great ambience, solid waitstaff. Our waitress was attentive and when we told her we weren't that thrilled w the burger, she comped it. The food wasn't worth the expensive price. Maybe it was a bad day but the food wasn't that good and it was a let down. We got the burger with fries -- fries were soggy and limp and the burger tasted like it was missing something. We asked for ketchup. The Burgers at Fat Dans and fries are better. Better yet if you're craving a solid burger at a fancy place I highly recommend Commission Row. They have a really good burger that's to die for and their fries are crispy. Caesar salad was ok. Nothing to rave about. The corn bread (not pictured) was ok. It was moist but it wasn't memorable. The Eagle has the best cornbread. The lobster bisque was salty, not much of a flavor profile. Again, try Commission Row for a really good lobster bisque that's delicious. Lastly their pickle tasted spoiled to me. I feel like everything we ordered was a miss and that's why I gave it a 2 star rating.

Yelp
We came for brunch. I have not gone to the Fountain Room for other meals as the menu for those doesn't appeal to me. But my goodness, the brunch! A+ all around, and I can't wait to do it again. The Fountain Room filled up pretty quickly by 11AM on a brunch Sunday, so you might prefer a reservation if you want a for-sure table. Appears to be the full cocktail/drink menu during brunch hours as well. PROS: -The Fountain Room is gorgeous. Honestly. It's just a visual treat in every corner as soon as you walk in the door. The morning light is so pretty streaming in the gigantic windows. The large, high-ceiling design and well-decorated walls give you a ton of things to look at. -Great portion size. I had the french toast, and I was very pleasantly full after we were finished here. A nice walk around Garage Hall afterwards was great for digesting all of that, but I wasn't so stuffed that walking sounded unappealing. My partner couldn't begin to finish his Brisket Hash with a ton of brisket in it. It easily would have been enough for take-home for another meal. -Both meals were also really delicious too. It's a lovely mix of flavors. My french toast had some sweetness, but it wasn't overwhelming. The french toast bake was done to perfection. -I love the brunch menu. I'm already excited to go back and try a different brunch meal, and I'm sad they only have brunch on weekends. -Service was fantastic. Not only do they check in about allergies and food sensitivities, but she also checked in regularly, brought any replenishments as requested, and was just generally really sweet. Fantastic, friendly service here. CONS: -I would have loved more biscuits in the biscuit flight. Four biscuits was okay, but as an appetizer, if it had been a table of four people, that's only one biscuit a person. That's so hard to portion out to try all of the dipping/sauces with just one biscuits. (Also, I love biscuits, so I'm biased.)

Yelp
It's YE Gurl reporting from Indy! Brunchin' at The Fountain Room on 4/19 -- and let me tell you, it was a whole vibe! We grabbed a cozy bar table right in the heart of the hip new Bottleworks District -- yes, the one that's a fancy, artsy-fartsy reinvention of the old Coca-Cola manufacturing plant area. (Love a good "from vintage to vibey" transformation. ) Our server Megan R. was the real MVP! Not only did she keep the brunch flowin', but she also gave us the inside scoop on the whole area -- from the cool art installations to all the new-age shops you can wander into when you're feeling cute and caffeinated. Appreciate a server who doubles as your local tour guide. Here's what we ordered: Brie Brûlée - $18 (Rich, creamy, and honestly I could've made a meal out of this alone.) Shrimp & Grits - $24 (Savory and perfectly indulgent. I asked for the sausage to not be in the meal.) Avocado Toast - $16 (A brunch classic -- simple but satisfying.) Omelette - $16 (Fluffy and packed with cheese goodness.) Everything came out beautifully plated and we were so hungry forgot to take pics. Post-brunch feels? Happy, full, and plotting my next visit. The Fountain Room definitely brings that chic, "big city brunch" energy into Indy without trying too hard -- which we love. Bill total: Around what you'd expect for a trendy spot in a growing arts district -- not outrageous, but definitely "special brunch" pricing. (Worth it though, TBH.) Final verdict: Next time I'm bringing my walking shoes so I can hit the shops after stuffing my face or take an electric bike ride from the shop close by. Highly recommend if you're trying to catch a cute buzz and feel a little fancy on a Saturday.

Yelp
I highly recommend arriving here early if you are coming on a weekend, as parking gets a little tight. It took me about 15 minutes to find parking. I ended up parking in the very nice garage a few doors down from the place. If you are lucky , you can get one of the metered street parking spots. There are also a few commercial lots available as well. I came here for our anniversary and they made it very special. The hostess acknowledged our anniversary, as well as our server, who gave us a card that was signed by the entire staff. The place has dining room seating available on two levels and a very nice bar on the first level. You definitely feel fancy when you come to this place. The staff here were amazing. They were very friendly, attentive and helpful. This place has a very extensive wine, and spirts menu. They have a few signature cocktails as well. I got some of their sangria and it was so good. I got an order of their oysters. I will admit, they were small. They also did not come with the little oyster forks. The oysters were still good though and would recommend them. For my main course, I got the horseradish encrusted ribeye steak and we shared an order of the truffle fries. It took only about 10 minutes to have our food prepared and it was fresh and hot. My steak was cooked to perfection and was packed with flavor. It was amazing. I highly recommend it. The fries were pretty good too, but I was full and was not able to finish them. My experience here was amazing and well worth the 15 minutes it took me to find a parking spot. The staff is awesome, the service is astounding and the food is amazing. I am wondering why I have not heard about this place sooner. Well anyway, I will definitely be back soon.

Yelp
We went for a pre-movie drink and it was lovely. The space is very nice and the bartenders were kind and knowledgeable.

Yelp
The Fountain Room brings all the vibes to the Bottle Works District on Mass Ave. This upscale American Fare restaurant brings all the southern comfort food to the city with a twist. The lighting is moody and the dimness makes it feel so romantic and cozy. We love to sit at the Bar. The Service is wonderful and the Bar tenders not only make great cocktails always seem to have the inside scoop on things. We went for Devoue but ended up getting something off their regular menu, I was craving a big Ole salad and it did not disappoint. We started with the Cornbread 9/10. It was missing just a little salt the honey butter added good sweetness to the moist delicate corn cake loaf. Ceasar Salad sub Ranch +Chicken 10/10 Perfection. The salad is $12 + $5 for protein and it was the perfect serving size. The greens were crisp and fresh and the REAL PARM SHAVINGs yes, o did I mention it has cornbread croutons?!?!?! Meatloaf with MASH & Broccolini 10/10 The do their meatloaf with Gravy and it's absolutely decadent and delicious. I got a NA Wine and Hunny bunny had a few cocktails all 10/10 their bar program is fantastic.
google avatar

Rachel S.

Yelp
The Fountain Room is still as good as ever! It had been two years since our last visit, but we returned to take advantage of their three course Devour menu. We enjoyed their French Onion Soup, Chopped Salad, Salmon, 7 oz. Petite Filet, and the Brownie and Cheesecake for dessert. The meal was the best I've had in a long time and that steak was perfectly cooked, buttery, and tender. I'm not normally a big steak person but this was absolutely delicious. Service was great and full of nice high-end touches like fresh lemons and limes as well as a choice of sparking or still water. If you're in the Bottleworks District, The Fountain Room is the way to go for your dinner!

Yelp
We couldn't wait until Christmas so we took a great couple with us to enjoy the Fountain Room. We made a Saturday late afternoon reservation (4:15). We arrive a little early, 3:55 and our table was already set up and waiting for us so we began our evening early. We had our normal Brie Brûlée and Relish Tray for starters. You can't beat the Brie, bread sticks and Brûlée dip to kick it off. Then all the relish tray items, from pickled peppers to honey comb toppings.... Exquisite We really changed your our choices this time, my wife and I split a Fried Chicken dinner which came with 4 split, boneless thighs lightly and crispy breading. Wow! They were so tender and perfect breading. We absolutely loved them Our friends selected a pork chop dinner and an order of Fish n Chips. They couldn't begin to eat the entirety of their meals but the take home's are perfect for the next days dinner! We enjoyed it all beyond measure. And once again, our server was fabulous, extremely patient and helpful in recommending our new dishes and in making sure we had zero down time between servings. Our friends loved the venue, the service, the food and so much fun. They agreed, one of the best stops I. Indy for a great night out, and being pampered and taken care of for the evening

Yelp
I have been waiting to come to The Fountain Room for a while now. Perhaps that was part of my issue, I had really built it up in my mind. I really wanted to love it. It was nice, but ... Probably a 3.5 but I've rounded up. Did the brunch and booked ahead via Open Table. Specifically said we were doing the brunch buffet in the reservation and had to put down a card to confirm. Ok. Got seated upstairs. Not ideal. Our server was extremely nice, but no plate was ever cleared. No coffee refill was ever offered. Regular coffee $8 btw. Buffet offerings were good, but... No sauces, butter, jelly, horseradish, etc. were available. No bacon in sight. Not a strawberry to be found. No green vegetable. Just felt limited. May need to try again but will def order off the menu next time.

Yelp
Where to start? The hostess was friendly and effective. She took my phone number and saw my profile in the platform they use for reservations. I told her it was my birthday, and shortly after, our server, Stone, arrived with a signed birthday card from all the staff. It's all in the details! Speaking of details, I saw very quickly why it was voted for 50 most beautiful restaurants. The decor and layout were modern and tasteful. Speaking of tasteful, the drinks and food were 10/10. I ordered the Pretty in Pink fearful of the coconut, but it was not overpowering at all. It was refreshing and quite yummy. Although I was disappointed that they did not have the short-rib entree, the petite fillet was not a downgrade. It was cooked to my satisfaction, and the Brussel sprouts were equally amazing. And as if that weren't enough, I was treated to a delicious birthday brownie with its own candle. I am so glad that I made the choice to dine here on my birthday trip. The staff made every minute special, and I am grateful.

Yelp
Service was great and the restaurant had a great vibe. Drinks were very different, ordered the OAXACAN which was way sweeter than expected but very yummy. Food was just so so. Well plated but portions were small for the price. Flavors were just okay. BRIE BRÛLÉE was recommend to us and it was very sweet, nothing to write home about. For our main, the HANGER STEAK, I was very underwhelmed. Was even missing the chimichuri sauce and had to ask for it. SCALLOPS should not be passed up on, they were delicious. Came for the PRIME RIB FRENCH DIP but was sold out :( All in all, can't say this place competes with any of the other ranked this high downtown.

Yelp
My husband and I had a fabulous experience at the Fountain room. We went there before the Taylor swift concert and I appreciated the cute cocktail menu. Our server was nice & quick, ensuring our food came out to our liking.

Yelp
We came in not too hungry but managed to make the perfect order for 2 people to split thanks to suggestions from our waitress who gave phenomenal service! We ended up getting the rib eye (one of the best steaks i've had in ages), chopped salad, and brie brûlée. The brie brûlée is as good as they say - so unique and surprisingly light. Felt a bit like having a perfect toast dessert since it's a sweet app. The salad was a good balance for the meat and carbs and wasn't too overdressed! We also got some themed Taylor Swift drinks since we were there for the Eras tour this weekend! We tried Our Song and Afterglow which were both delicious and came with little Taylor Swift themed drink markers we got to have for souvenirs! The restaurant itself is very nice and classy. It's also super large! At first we could only get a saturday res for 9pm but managed to move up to 8pm. Then we actually arrived closer to 7:30pm and they were able to seat us immediately! So just show up if you can't get the res you want!

Yelp
We had a great experience here. My cosmo was delicious. We loved the whipped brie brûlée appetizer. My dish, the sea bass was not only gorgeous but delicious. We ordered the chocolate mousse cake to go. Wish we ordered two of those!!

Yelp
Food was delicious and very well prepared. My friend and I shared a meal and they were kind enough to decide it before serving it to use. Service was excellent and I can't say enough about the beautiful decor. It is perfect for a date with a or a special occasion.

Yelp
The Fountain Room has a wonderful ambiance perfect for a special occasion or a delightful treat when visiting the bottle works district. Service is always great, food is tasty and beautifully plated, cocktails are made to perfection, wine and beer available. The whiskey sours and hanger steak are my favorite here, the prime rib and steaks are also great. Perfect for a date, girls night, special occasion, etc. Have only been here for dinner but am sure brunch is worth giving a try. Hope you give this one a try, enjoy!

Yelp
The restaurant is well designed and is in a good location. Unfortunately, the food and drinks were bad and expensive. The fountain room is beautifully decorated and has a lot of potential to be a nicer restaurant in Indy. The service was four stars, friendly, welcoming albeit a bit slow and didn't replace silverware between courses after removing it. The food quality was pretty bad. I ordered the salmon and it was extremely overcooked and dry. For me, this was completely unacceptable given they charged $40+ for this entree. The gnocchi garnish also was very dry and tasted like it was probably prepared hours earlier and left in a pot to keep warm all day. If I hadn't been in a large group I would have sent it back. The Caesar salad was good (not remarkable but not bad). Others in my group who ordered cocktails indicated they were 2-3 star caliber (did not meet expectations). All in all, I would not recommend The Fountain Room as the food and beverage quality are poor and you'll be paying a high price for that let-down. The service and ambiance were nice, however.

Yelp
Tried the Sunday brunch at The Fountain Room last weekend for the first time. The vibe of the place is so great. Love the tall ceilings and the great service and staff. Silly little thing - no salt & pepper on any of the tables which IMHO if there's eggs involved, people have varying tastes on the seasoning so should be easily accessible. My eggs, toast & bacon was lovely. My son devoured his biscuits & gravy so they must have been good! My husband got the brisket dish and enjoyed it. We got a beets & peaches salad for the table as an app and it was so refreshing and tasty.

Matt M.

Yelp
Food was just alright. Paid for the duck confit pasta just to taste what was basically chicken noodle soup with underdone peas. Truffle fries and Lobster crab dip were the only saving grace. Hostess stand was distant and unwelcoming. Ambiance was just ok and service was alright as well. Wouldn't go back.

Yelp
I've visited the Fountain Room for a drink a few times with coworkers but had the chance to visit for dinner! It's a beautiful restaurant in a prime location! We sat at a large table that was perfect for our group of 8. As a gluten free gal, I didn't see a ton of appealing options that were on the mid-budget range. There are already so many fancier, upscale restaurants in this area. Nothing about The Fountain Room particularly stood out, but the food was satisfactory.

Yelp
The Fountain Room had been on our list for quite some time, but with so many fine dining options in Indy it took us a while to get to it. I absolutely loved the ambiance and even the walk up to restaurant with the Hotel on full Christmas display was lovely. Our service was the best part of our visit. Our server was upbeat, super helpful and knowledgeable and so personable (non robotic). The food was slightly underwhelming compared to other options such as Harry & Izzies or The Capital Grille, but we really did enjoy our meals. All of us ordered either medium rare or medium steaks and they came out mostly medium well. But this is truly our one and only peeve. The cocktails are on another level. You must try the Coca Cola bitters and the maple drink from the holiday menu was also divine. So happy to have had checked this off my list - NEXT!

Yelp
The service, decor, and food were all great! Highly recommend the Brie Brûlée. Honestly the best thing I have had in a while! Also ordered the dirty martini; ice cold and delicious.

Yelp
Top notch service that matched the pricing of the restaurant. Very attentive staff that takes allergies seriously. Delicious food that is the right size. Great place for celebratory events

Yelp
My husband and I tried the Fountain Room for the first time for our 8 year wedding anniversary. I didn't read the website carefully & thought I did not have to make reservations. We arrived a little before 6PM. The hostess asked if we had reservations & I told her I did not see on the website where I needed to make reservations. Thankfully they had 1 table available even though a large party was set to arrive. Our server was wonderful! She asked if I had allergies & made sure to accommodate me since I'm allergic to rum. For our appetizers, my husband ordered meatballs, and I ordered the crab cake . Both were amazing! For dinner, he ordered the sirloin steak and I ordered the pork chop . Though the pork chop was a bit fatty, it was still good. And my husband thoroughly enjoyed his steak. Before our meal was brought out our server took our drink orders. She returned and asked if I was happy with my amaretto sour. I explained it was more sour than sweet. She then was nice enough to bring a shot glass of amaretto to make my drink sweeter, free of charge. We were very pleased with our dinner and we will visit Fountain Room again. We'd give it a score of 8 out of 10.

Yelp
I've eaten here with both big parties and small, the best options are to either sit at the bar or with a big group upstairs. For some reason eating in the main dining room now has absolutely zero appeal to me. The food here has definitely improved off a rough start last year and over the past year it has really just plateaued albeit with a perceived decline in service quality which you can feel in the dining room on weekend nights. Sitting with a big group upstairs you get some love and same with the bar but dining room service gets overwhelmed which makes you also realize you're eating classed up Clancy's at a huge premium.

Yelp
Went here for a nice dinner as part of my friend's bachelor party. The restaurant is nice and gives off more of a romantic vibe. The staff is all friendly. Our server was not the most attentive as I had to ask for a refill on my soda. I really appreciate when servers notice and either bring a refill or at least ask if you'd like a refill before I have to ask. I came thinking I would order the prime rib French dip, just to find that they were out of it. This is was super frustrating and disappointing. At this point I really want to just get up and leave, but for the sake of my friend I ordered the lobster Mac & cheese. The sauce was good but overall on the dry side. It definitely needed more of the cheese sauce and the lobster became dry too because they put it on top and then in the over to toast the cheese and breadcrumbs. The lobster had a strange taste, so I just wasn't really feeling the dish at all. Our table also ordered the focaccia bread and that was interesting. It wasn't so much focaccia as it was more just rolls baked together. But the zesty butter was good- something anyone can make at home though. My friend ordered the scallops and they were served on top of this corn mixture which was interesting. His cousin ordered the burger and honestly that looked like the best thing out of everything. The burger looked juicy. He got the truffle fries with his burger and those were fresh and yummy. Much rather would have just ordered a side of truffle fries and ate those. Needless to say, I wouldn't return and I wouldn't recommend. I wasn't too pleased with the service we got and the food definitely was not anything to rave about. I was more excited to go out and get some food at the bar afterwards.

Yelp
Really enjoyed our happy hour at The Fountain Room! I enjoyed the circle city cosmo, which had an amazing flavor with the rhubarb addition and I will definitely return just to have this drink again. We went a little early for dinner, so we just split a bunch of apps, two of which were part of the happy hour special. We had amazing service (shout out Zacharias) and the interior was beautiful.

Yelp
Location, ambiance and decor is wonderful. Not sure the service measures up to the pricing, though. Went while in town for the Indy 500 and the steak was well liked by my table but the 2 non-steak options we got were just okay, although the crab dip appetizer was great as well as the Brussels sprouts side dish. If you're a non red-meat eater, perhaps reconsider. Taking off only one star since it's a fault of my own for not eating what this place is known for. Otherwise, it would be 2.

Yelp
Oh how much we love the fountain room! My Boo and I came here and had an amazing experience. A customer service was phenomenal... I think his name was Mitch and his best friend but the wine was good. The food was good and just the overall vibes was good. We are happy. We chose the Fountain room.

Yelp
Brie Brûlée is great!!! Yogurt was good, not sweet, but got cinnamon apples in it. Burrito is ok. Chicken and waffle is OK. Very light seasoned...

Yelp
This Fountain Room never fails to deliver the best meals! We dine here at least twice a month, and we have never had a bad meal.

Yelp
This was my first time at The Fountain Room, but not my last! TFR is beautifully decorated. I loved the flooring, the gold accents, the retro decor, and the overall aesthetic. 'Twas fabulous. The staff was friendly and our waitress, Chelsea was great. I chose the Prime Rib Dip and fries. It was flavorful and filling. TFR offers a brunch buffet on the weekends as well. It's great for groups and dates.

Yelp
This is a little late due to the holidays with that said, WOW what an amazing meal and experience. The wife and I decided to got to a bed and breakfast right before the holidays to have a quiet night before the holiday madness. I found this place on yelp. After driving down from NWI we settled in the B&B and decided to go out for dinner. I found The Fountain Room on yelp and it wasn't to far so we decided to check it out. It was a Friday night. We didn't have reservations. We got there at 6pm we were told the next available table was at 8pm, but we could sit at the bar for its first come first serve. The hostess told us that at the end of the bar there is a low table for two connected to the bar. So we took it. Boy I'm glad we did. The decor and feel of the place is warming and inviting, contemporary yet classic. The table was perfect. It felt more like being at a chef's table then he bar. STONE, One of the bartenders and I believe also a server on other days WAS AMAZING!!!!! I started with a Buffalo Trace Old fashioned. It was perfect, probably one of the best old fashions I've ever had and my wife got a mocktail, that she said was delicious. For appetizer we got the Oysters and Bread. Stone said the oysters were a good choice. Again they were the best oysters I've ever had. Super sweet and briny. I could have eaten 2 dozen if I could. For the main course I was torn between the Australian Wagyu or the Scallops. Again Stone came in with good advise and said that adding to the Scallops to the steak would be cost effective. So I followed his advise. I never had Waygu, but figured we were on a weekend get away why not try it. My word it was amazing. Lived up to the hype. My wife, who doesn't eat much steak asked for several bites. The Scallops were perfectly cooked, tender and well seasoned. My wife, who wasn't very hungry got the Meatballs and a side of truffle fries. She let me try the meat balls and the were well seasoned very moist and the sauce delicious. Stone the bartender made the experience. Very social without being intrusive. Had a great sense of humor and knew the menu thoroughly. If you go to fountain room and Ask for Stone.

Yelp
Service, steaks, and cocktails were all sublime. I have been to The Fountain Room twice. The first time was maybe a couple of months after they had opened and the second time was about a week ago. I really like the classy, vintage ambiance of this place and would love to get the full experience at night to see how the lighting looks. My first time here, my wife and I shared lobster bisque and the caesar salad for appetizers and they were both phenomenal. We still talk about that lobster bisque, it was *chef's kiss*. My wife had the fried fish and I ordered the wagyu meatloaf. A unique menu item that some people may turn their nose up to, but it is delicious (and still a menu item years later). My visit last week was with a larger party and I had a couple of specialty cocktails that were great. For my entree, I ordered a steak. Cooked rare, I thought they did an excellent job. Myself and two others ordered shareable sides as the steaks do not come with sides. Truffle fries, lobster mac and cheese, and roasted cauliflower - all were incredible. Excited to come back here, this time to experience the cozy bar space if possible.

Yelp
I've had The Fountain Room on my list since it opened, but it just seemed like the kind of place you needed to be celebrating something to go to. I finally got the chance to try it today. It was a hit with all of my family members which is hard to do. We stopped in around 10 when they opened on a Sunday for brunch. I made a reservation before since I wasn't sure but we really didn't need one. There were several other groups of people dining in but we were all spread out so it still felt fairly private. The brunch menu is short and sweet but it seems like you can't go wrong with anything you choose. My mom had the biscuits and gravy breakfast, which she loved. My brother had the wagyu burger but his favorite was the side of breakfast potatoes. He raved about the potatoes. I had the French dip sandwich with a side of fruit. The sandwich was delicious. My only complaint is I was expecting more heat from the horseradish, but it's still the best French dip sandwich I've ever had. We started with the Brie brûlée and coffee, which was also delicious. All the staff were friendly. Our server Carly was great! The decor is definitely a vibe. We're already planning our next trip back.

Yelp
Went for brunch for a birthday. The service was really good. Our waitress was friendly. The cinnamon roll was dry and disappointing. The brisket hash though was 10/10!

Yelp
A really beautiful upscale place on Mass avenue. The service was impeccable and the entire experience was just great. I had a salad and a slider, so nothing too fancy, but loved the entire experience. Would definitely come back!
