"Sister to The Wild Rabbit in Kingham and the Daylesford Organic Farm, this immaculately refurbished 19C Cotswold inn is bursting with style and character, boasting flagged floors, exposed stone walls and an impressive wood-fired oven. The menu covers all bases – from pizza to Hereford sirloin on the bone – and uses top quality ingredients from their estate in unfussy, generously sized, tasty combinations. Make a night of it with a stay in one of their stylish bedrooms." - Michelin Inspector
The Fox at Oddington Hotel Review | Hotels Above Par
"Housed in a 19th-century coaching inn and transformed by Carole Bamford of Daylesford Organic into an intimate six-room retreat, this countryside bolthole marries design-led, eco-conscious hospitality with classic Cotswolds charm. The honey-stone façade gives way to interiors that blend rustic character and modern simplicity—reclaimed wood floors, antler curtain hooks, vegetable-dyed leather seats, soft lighting and tree-stump bedside tables—while sustainability is visible everywhere, from sheep’s-wool insulation and a wildflower living roof to whole-property renewable power (solar, hydro, wind and biomass). Downstairs, a maze of cosy pub rooms features roaring fireplaces, velvet armchairs, rosettes and forest-green panelling, with bi-fold doors opening onto a leafy terrace for alfresco meals. The six rooms favor a serene palette of biscuit, cream and soft blues with tactile layers; the Master’s Suite is especially cocooning with a handmade curtained bed beneath exposed beams, and the Den stands out for its private patio, working fireplace and freestanding tub. Textiles come via Bamford’s Nila initiative and toiletries are Bamford-branded, though some rooms can feel a touch showroom-perfect. Food is led by head chef Alan Gleeson and leans on top-tier local ingredients from Daylesford Organic and the Wootton Estate: pub snacks like ’nduja scotch eggs sit alongside refined Saddle Room dishes such as violet artichokes with burrata and dry-aged Hereford beef chateaubriand, while breakfast highlights include flaky pastries, deep-orange-yolk eggs and French toast with apricots and crème fraîche. Drinks range from local ales to craft cocktails (try the Bees Knees with gin, honey and lavender) plus thoughtful non-alcoholic choices. Guests also get 10% off treatments at the nearby Daylesford Wellness Spa (a 20-minute walk or short cycle along a scenic bridle path), can borrow electric Daylesford bikes for countryside exploration, and are a short ride from Stow-on-the-Wold—making the place feel like a design-savvy, sustainability-first escape in the heart of the Cotswolds."
Just in time for Christmas, and the place couldn’t look better. Gorgeous setting, great vibe, and the staff strike that perfect balance of attentive, respectful, and genuinely friendly.
I ordered the burger—honestly one of the best I’ve had this year. Not greasy, just packed with flavour. The chips arrived in a pre-warmed cup and stayed hot forever, which tells you how thoughtful they are about the little things.
I love this place. Don’t hesitate… just go.

Just home after a first visit to The Fox and feeling very pleasant, no booze required! It’s so lovely to find a chef that knows how to execute the menu description without some disappointment. Great job chef and team, absolutely delicious roast sirloin of beef and equally great vegetables. Apple and blackberry crumble, just like momma used to make! Keep up the high standards for others to enjoy.

Super cute! Food was pretty good. We had pizzas, salad & fish sticks. Was pretty busy. The kids pizza was a good size. Pretty much same size as the adults size. We’re gonna order their soft serve for dessert!

Lovely dinner at the Fox, very warm and cosy pub with very attentive staff. As a couple we walked in and the bar area was super busy which is a great sign but each staff member greeted us with warmth and made sure we have menus and drinks within minutes. The service was brilliant. We had a lovely table in the restaurant area where the brilliant service continued. The food was really lovely especially the sticky toffee pudding and the drinks were great. The atmosphere is warm and friendly - not too noisy despite the restaurant and bar area being full. We will be coming back here.

This place is lovely! It was a nice cosy pub but also had a little something extra with decor inside! The cocktails were lovely although can be expensive! My fiance had the steak which was cooked to his liking which came with chips and a gravy sauce which he really liked! I had a pizza which was really nice and then we also shared some tat tots with a garlic and truffle sauce which were so nice!! Overall we really enjoyed our meal here! The staff were all friendly as well and the food came out really quickly! One thing I would say tho is that the car park isn’t very big so we had to park on the side street next to it which had no street lights and quite a high curb so just bare that in mind!

This a Gorgeous place! The atmosphere is a result a keen eye for details to create a lux pub experience.
The food is world class fresh & full of flavor and well plated. We stayed right around the corner and found ourselves drawn back to The Fox over and over again.

Had a fabulous dinner at the Fox! We had a mix of traditional and locally sourced dishes, as well as some delicious pizzas. We tried some organic wine and cocktails, and finished off with a few lovely desserts. Look forward to returning in April!

Our first pub in the Cotswolds and it was fabulous. Cocktails, food, service were excellent. Very crowded but comfortable. Our table was near one of the fireplaces. Charming place.

Yelp
Our 1.30 lunch lliant! Brilliant! Lovely light airy atmosphere. Wonderful service from Lacy. Our starters of the cobb wedge and the tuna were cleverly presented. We split the El Cap pizza. Having seen the oven, couldn't resist. Maybe one of the finest pizzas we've ever had. And we're Americans. I had the Lawless Lager. Very nice. We started the lunch with the pork cracklings. So original. And great dessert OMG. Deep fried chocolate croissant in custard. Finished with a noisette coffer made to order. Thank you!

Yelp
We returned after 18 years, with our now grown children, to be even more delighted than the first time we ate here. The food is amazing and the service is as well.
Today, the Sunday roast was perfect and filling, the Fish and chips were crisp and tasty, as were the vegetarian options. The dessert (sticky toffee pudding) was just as delectable as we remembered. Excellent choices for beer on tap too!
It was fun watching all of the families coming in with children and/or family dogs. Lovely afternoon in a beautiful village sharing a memorable family meal. Thank you!

Yelp
In England one does not hike, one walks. And so we walked for two hours to get to the Fox Inn, traversing ancient fields with much gleeful appreciation for England's well-labeled footpaths and public rights of way.
The walk to get to this charming country pub was well worth it. The fish and chips I had for lunch were lovely and the mushy peas some of the nicest I've eaten recently. There were plenty of pints of real ale for my friends along with staples like steak and kidney pie.
In sum, The Fox Inn's a brilliant boozer in which to pass a few hours whilst walking in the Cotswolds.

Yelp
The Fox is a Cotswold stone inn in a small village a mile or two outside Stow on the Wold. There is a small bar but this is really a restaurant that attracts the smart set. Whilst not putting myself in this category, I've been here four or five times, twice for overnight stays.
Today I had lunch with a colleague and, since we were driving we weren't drinking which is a shame. Abbot Ale and Hooky Bitter were on offer. The menu is extensive, even for lunch and we chose home-made tomato and basil soup, eggs Benedict (also available as a main course) and steak and kidney pie x 2. The whole meal was delicious although not cheap at £42 for two including one glass of spicy tomato juice one of the best I've tasted.
I'm going again!

Yelp
Randomly came in here when passing through Chipping Norton and was happily surprised. The meat pie and and lamb shoulder special were both amazing. The service was great and would love to come back for my next trip.

Yelp
Amazing ambiance in a wonderful old building from the 1600's right in the heart of the Cotswolds. Good food and good service. Would definitely recommend!

Yelp
Incredible quality of food in a classic Cotswold village, there is actually a lot of seating but they have several separate areas so it feels cozy and they do not squeeze you in. The decor is phenomenal as was the service. We had the pigeon breast and potted shrimp appetizers, then we went for the risotto and the Gloucester old-spot bangers and mash. Serving sizes are generous so careful if you intend to hit the pudding list. All in all a great inn, unfortunately it's pretty gentrified clientele reflect the changing demographics of a part of the country I used to love, but now loved by those with Maseratis and Porsches too.

Yelp
The two wonderful pubs in Oddington made our stay, up the road in Broadwell, a memorable one. The food is exceptional, definitely not 'pub grub'. I had the venison ragout and it was the BEST venison I've ever eaten. Staff were very friendly and our waiter even stopped and talked a bit after he was off the clock. Had a fun conversation with a 'regular' who walks to the Fox Inn every day. Quintessential Cotswolds atmosphere!

Yelp
We went to this pub while we were staying in the Cotwolds in December 2009. It does fantastic food and the service was exceptional too. I had duck breast which was delicious. Others in our party had steak and a pie - both said their meals were fab. Unless you're staying in Lower Oddington you would need to drive there. They have a car park. If you're in the area def worth a visit.

Yelp
Excellent food. Great historic building. We had cheese souffle starter. Hake and partridge as Main courses.

Yelp
We had a light meal and dessert here and everything we ordered was excellent. The service was good although it took a while for our meal to arrive. I'd definitely choose this place over the Horse and Groom down the road which I found overpriced (no I don't work here - I live in the US).
