A Taste of Louisiana at Its Finest
I recently visited The Francis in St. Francisville, Louisiana, and it was an absolutely stellar dining experience! From start to finish, every bite was packed with flavor and showcased the best of Southern cooking with a creative twist.
We kicked things off with The Francis Fancy Fries—a mountain of crispy fries loaded with pulled pork, bacon, melted cheese, and rich brown gravy. It was indulgent, hearty, and perfect for sharing. The fried eggplant with marinara was another appetizer standout—perfectly fried, tender on the inside, with a marinara sauce that had just the right balance of tanginess and spice.
For the main course, I tried the country fried ribeye paired with a side of red beans and rice. The ribeye was cooked to perfection—crispy, flavorful, and seasoned beautifully. But the real star was the red beans and rice, which rivaled any I’ve had in Louisiana. It was soulful, comforting, and the perfect complement to the ribeye.
We wrapped up the meal with their bread pudding, topped with a decadent white mocha sauce. I don’t think I’ll ever look at bread pudding the same way again—this dessert was next-level delicious, balancing sweetness and richness perfectly.
The Francis offers incredible food, warm hospitality, and a true taste of Louisiana in a cozy, charming setting. If you’re in St. Francisville, this is a must-visit spot. I can’t recommend it enough—everything we tried was phenomenal, but that fried ribeye and red beans? Pure magic. Five stars!
