THE FREEZE RESTAURANT

We had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. The service was quick, the staff was exceptionally friendly, and the food was absolutely delicious.

I don’t get to go often. A friend/coworker suggested I go there one day a while back when I was craving a good burger and onion rings (hard to find for some reason) but needed to be quick. The burgers are outstanding and so are the onion rings but today, I was craving chili. I called ahead to see if they served it. (if not, it was going to be Wendy’s) 🫤 sure enough, they serve chili! A coworker picked it up for me and brought it back to the office. I have to say the flavor was sooo on point! The serving size was perfect, and it came with the most tasty square of cornbread ever! If I had to say anything negative at all, it would simply be I would love to see more larger chunks of meat and maybe less beans? But I’ll be honest, I liked it so much I grabbed a second bowl on my way home from work and threw some extra ground beef in it when I got home. It is now my go to place for not only a great burger & onion rings, It is now my go to for chili as well. 👍🏻

Food is delicious- that old school hamburger and shake from your dreams? Yeah those are here. The only down fall is that the drive through moves slow- but for good reason! Everything and I do mean everything is made fresh. Cheeseburger with onion rings and a chocolate frappe all for less then $10?! Hell yes!

I got the banana split, and you get your money's worth for $8. The wife had the fudge cake that was poorly executed in how they served it, which was in a cup. Should have been in a container as the banana split was so you could actually enjoy it better. Building is Very run down and in dire need of an upgrade, or at least a good painting. My wife asked what the Bahama Delight and of 3 people behind the counter, not One of them knew exactly what it was or what was in it. So how would they know how to actually Make it???🤔🤔🤔

The ice cream is good for the price but don't disappoint yourself by ordering any food here.

Hot dogs, every time I get them, tho not anymore, they're always like warm or cold in the middle. Mom loves their vegetable beef soup tho. They didn't give her their cornbread like they always do the last time. They never have enough people working and most definitely not enough space. Mom knew the owner but he passed and my deepest condolences to the family. But someone's got to do something. You get wet if you stand in an area waiting on your food too lol. Just drips. But its cold 🥶 They need more adults working there too. The place has just changed over the years, and with more people moving here, its hard for them to keep up with all of the customers.

if you want exactly what you ordered, don’t come here. we’ve come here many times and it’s almost always not right. don’t get me wrong though, i love it here. prices are fair and the food is good. they’re always grumpy and they will give you whatever they want to lol. you want two flavors of ice cream in one cone? pick one bc that’s all you’re getting. you want water with your meal? drink some coke and grow up. you want 2 chicken tenders? eat 4 bc you need it. anyway, would recommend! xoxo vics

Though exchanging hands and changing names, the Freeze has remained a local fixture for over 70 years on Main Street in Conway. A simple concept of a walk-up window offering premium milkshakes in its early days to now a more general fast food menu offering limited seating inside, drive thru and a small patio outside. A few of their choices are burgers, hotdogs, grilled sandwiches, chicken tenders and their popular chicken salad and soup. Don’t forget their milkshakes, soft serve and hard ice cream and recently added chicken wings. Inside one will find an order counter with overhead menu and metal padded chairs and tables. My bacon cheeseburger was a grilled hand patty burger loaded with crispy bacon, cheese and diced onions. I made it a combo and that came with a soda and delicious crispy, lightly salted fries. This place may not look like much, but you can’t beat the food, service and prices.

I like it here. It's old-school, and kinda reminds me of a carnival restaurant (in a good way). The menu is fairly extensive, and well-priced. The people behind the counter have been nice (I've been there twice so far), albeit maybe they could benefit from an extra person working at any given time. Food has been very good-I specifically like the fries I've gotten milkshakes, but have yet to try a sundae, but all in good time! Overall, this is definitely a place I'll frequent!

It was so good. I get the wings in Korean bbq flavor. It has tons of garlic and chili. It is not to spicy. Good

The Food rocks! Best thing you will ever taste in your life! Service is very well prepared. Just a nice sight even though it may look run down, do not underestimate the freeze!

This is the Tastee Freeze John Mellencamp sings about in "Jack and Diane". I have been eating there since the 1970's. They have the best chili cheese burgers in Horry County. Their foot long hot dogs (sucking on a chili dog behind the Tastee Freeze) are the best, and you can add slaw to it. I can never finish one of their freezees by myself. Perfect comfort meal after a long day: a chili cheeseburger (mustard, onions, chili), fries or tots, and a chocolate milkshake. Dang it, now I'm hungry!

It is a really small restaurant that has been around for decades in this small town. I grew up eating good food and numerous milkshakes and ice cream. My Papa is addicted to their milkshakes and homemade ice cream. They have every flavor you can think of AND will mix the flavors for you. For example, he order a vanilla milkshake with ripe cherries and pineapple. He likes their home made soup's better than mine. Such a great, welcoming atmosphere. P.S. Try the parfait and change it up. I get pineapple and strawberries in soft vanilla ice cream layers with chocolate on the bottom & top!!! Makes your heart happy

Simple food served by amazing people. Great place for a quick bite when out and about in Conway. Burgers and milkshakes were great.

Ice cream good and other like things are too, no complaints out of many times I went there.

We were running errands in Conway and I got a craving for a hotdog so we stopped in. Wife and I love old diners like this. Inside is small and takes you back in time to the 70's. We ordered two hotdogs, the wife a regular with chili and mustard and I got a foot long with mustard, chili and onion. We passed on the slaw because neither of us like the green mayo based slaws. Food was served fast and hot. The hotdogs were good and the seasoned fries hot and crispy with no grease. They would have gotten another star if service had been a whole lot better. The older woman taking orders was slower than a snail crawling through molasses in the winter, and when our order was ready and my name called, another woman just handed me our food without saying a word to me, no Thank-you, have a good day or nothing, but as soon as someone came in she knew, she became very friendly and talkative. Overall the food was good, the service sucked so no tip was left, but for two people to eat lunch for $13.54 in today's world is a bargain.

Food is very low quality. Place is dirty and run down. I haven't tried the ice cream so maybe it's ok but the food is absolute trash.

I've had good food here, but also bad. Their burgers are great. Their hotdogs are tasteless and terrible . The girls in the drive-thru are lack luster at best. Ive lived here 9 years, been there maybe 12 times. Mostly for dipped ice cream cone because there's nothing else close to me. I know people love it but its just not for me. Sorry

We ordered a vanilla ice cream cone dipped in chocolate and it was delicious! It was around 3:00 in the afternoon. The drive through was crowded so we went in. The service was fast even though they seemed busy. We will be going back and try the food as it all looked delicious!

I don't know who the owner or the manager is for this place. My recommendation to you is to do better. If you can't do better than what we experienced today you really need to just closed the door and go home. You should not be serving food like that and you definitely should not be charging that much money for such POOR and I do mean POOR quality food. Your menu said Chicken FILET SANDWICH and that is what we PAID FOR. WHAT we Got was a hamburger bun with TWO SMALL CHICKEN TENDERS. REALLY I won't even mention the COLD GREASY HARD FRENCH FRIES and I yes the term french fries very loosely. Total of $12.84 in the trash . Order#2 What I Ordered was: Large Strawberry Milkshake Chicken Tenders What I GOT Was A Cup of Vanilla Ice with Some Strawberry Preserves at the bottom of the cup. Did Not Even Mix Well. Ice cream still vanilla did not change to strawberry Pink and all the strawberry preserves in the bottom of the cup. all for a total of 14.61 in the trash . THE FREEZE DO BETTER or STOP TAKING PEOPLE'S HARD EARNED MONEY

I use to go to the freeze weekly sometimes 2-3 times a week. I loved there candy freezes you use to get so much candy in every bite. A few weeks ago I went and there was almost nothing in mine so pretty much just vanilla ice cream. Took a break after that time went back tonight thinking they must have just had a bad night or new person working not knowing how it's done. Sadly that was not the case. Agin almost no candy at all! Just a few chocolate bits as you can see in pictures. I love so close and loved this place but they have gone down hill recently. Very sad I will probably not be going back or as often. Don't like paying $6+ for just vanilla soft serve.

Last week the drive thru lane suddenly stopped moving. I had already ordered and wanted my ice cream. I waited about 15 minutes and finally pulled out of line and went to my appointment. Came back about an hour later...no line. So i told the young girl at the window that an hour ago i pulled out of line and asked her why the red car was at the window so long. She said....get this....the guy ordered a grilled item and the grill shut off so they had him wait at the window until they could start the grill up again and cook his food! I asked her why didn't you have the guy drive out and pull into one of your parking spots and bring his food to him when it was ready? She shrugged her shoulders....she didn't know. Also, their soups are super salty.

It's been in my hometown for as long as I can remember, and I've been going since I was little. Great burgers and quick bites, smooth ice cream on a hot day and rich meaty soups for a cold or sick day.

Went there today and gotten a large soft serve and sherbet cream. I think they made the order before I gotten to the window. Both was melted had to refreeze it once I got home. The owner needs to hire better more experience help.

We love Freeze Restaurant and visit here regularly when we're in Conway. The milkshakes are absolutely delicious, and their hamburgers are yummy and huge! I've had their corn dogs, chili dogs, fries, tots, and onion rings as well, and they're all very tasty. Freeze tends to stay quite busy, but it's worth the wait. The staff works hard to get the orders out as quickly as possible. I'm craving one of their milkshakes as I write this review.

Drivethru was slow but it was 6ish on a Friday evening... so what do you expect! Looking forward to a delish dog, chicken sammiches, and milkshakes.... Best Banana Shake I've had in a while! Chicken sandwiches were on point, as always! Hot dog was a hit!

This would be a below a one star,if I could. Stopped by last year,before a hurricane. 2 double cheese burgers were awful. Decided to give it a try again. 2 hot dogs, they were fair. 2 Butterscotch shakes? Worse then awful,tasted like a vanilla shake. The lids for the cups? Don't fit the cup. So the one shake was overfilled,my wife wore the vanilla ale and stickiness home. Sorry. It was the last time.

This is another must-stop place when I go to Myrtle Beach. This little dive on Main St in Conway used to be a Tastee-Freeze I think. It serves burgers, dogs, fries, sandwiches, ice cream and shakes. The Freeze serves my second favorite burger, only behind the Fuku Burger Truck in Vegas. Their bacon double cheeseburger comes with about 8 or so thick slices of smokey bacon that have been deep fried into little knotted balls of crunchy, porky goodness, The two beef patties have good flavor, are topped with melted American cheese. The burger is dressed with yellow mustard, onions and thick, spicy chili. Not really something I usually like but as I'm more of a ketchup, mayo pickle guy but in this case it just works incredibly well. Their fries aren't like any I have had anywhere else either. They are kind of battered like Ralley's/Checkers and the insides are like mashed potatoes which are about the temperature of Chernobyl when freshly fried. This is the only place where you eat the fries second, otherwise the molten lava of potato will scorch your tongue.

Yuck!! I went because of other people's reviews. The bacon cheeseburger looked so good. NOT! It was gross. It wasn't even all meat. It's some kind of soybean, grain burger. There were black flecks of something all in it. And both patties had this weird split in the burger, like an air pocket or something. It had no juice. It was a heavy textured patty... Very chewy. The bacon was not what other people described. Ours was more like a fat wad with a slight crunch. It totally reminded us of the hamburger you can get in a vending machine at hospitals. Lol. Nasty! The fries were good. Vanilla shake was good too. The girl at the window was ditzy. I handed her my American express and after 15 min she says "i don't think we take American express".'.. Anyhow... If you are hungry keep moving down the road. This place was nasty!

Came to the freeze to get some soup. I waited in line for 30 minutes got to the speaker to order i sat there for another 7 to 10 minutes then got to the window waited 5 minutes to pay then had to pull over and park to wait for my food. The soups weren't ever in soup bowl they were in drink cups. This place has gone down hill. Maybe they should close down if you got to go through this crap to get food.

Called to make sure they had something before getting there, pulled into line waited 15 minutes, didn't even make it to order and we hear the woman in front of us asking for the same thing we called about and they tell her they don't have it. Get better customer service as well as don't lie about stuff u have and we pull up and u don't have it.

Husband just arrived home from The Freeze, wanted cheeseburgers with fried onions, tomato, lettuce. What he got was cheeseburgers with relish. Terrible. Have given them many chances because we want to keep it in the comminity. This was their last chance, we won't be there anymore.

The place is called "The Freeze" for a reason. Everyone should FREEZE and rethink about going there. I've been there several times and nothing is consistent. The service does not have southern hospitality that I would except from a small town ice cream shop.

This is one of those local gems that people try to keep secret. I stopped here for lunch and I was greeted by a friendly young man who took my order. I tried the bacon cheese burger "All the way." With chili, mustard and onion. I also had a small order of onion rings. When my order came out I was thrilled. The burger was large and covered with bacon. The onion rings were hot and delicious. If you love good food, this place is a find. If you need fancy, stay home. I will definitely be taking my husband here for lunch soon. Also they have all kinds of ice cream which I had no room for this time.

Here in Myrtle Beach on vacation, we pass this place so many times on our way to and from the beach and it's always busy. It's dine in, takeout and has a drivethru. The inside is outdated and smells stale. The staff was mostly teens, but they were friendly. My Husband got a massive banana split. I ordered an oreo sundae, they were both awesome. This place offers food, shakes, snowballs, ice cream and specialty ice cream. Yummy!

Great classic "dairy bar" in a fifties tradition. We ate inside with kids. Best grilled hot dog around. Just a few tables. Appear to do mostly take out and drive through. Great burgers, chicken strips, fries and ice cream. Not a healthy thing on the menu! Great southern hospitality! Yum.

Great food for a cheap price.. I think my husband and I got one of everything on the menu for about 25$ including ice cream. I highly recommend their sausages .. Omg delicious! I don't really like sausages like that but I preferred them over their burgers, they tasted so good!

We were dying for Ice Cream after a long trip from Charleston. Our navigator sent us to The Freeze and we're glad it did. The staff was very friendly and enthusiastic! The ice cream was just what we needed and so delicious. The price was so reasonable! We don't need a navigator any more. We will find a way to make to The Freeze everytime we're in the area!

First and last time. Went there for ice cream. Place is dirty. Ice cream had crystals in it and tasted old. Will not go back.

All I can say is WOW!! The food is made and cooked to order. There must have been what seemed like half a pound of bacon on my daughter's bacon cheeseburger and the shakes are absolutely awesome!! Do NOT pass this place by without stopping in. You will NOT be disappointed!

Wow!!! The Bacon Cheeseburger is to die for!!! I couldn't eat the Bacon double cheeseburger because it's entirely too huge! The bacon cheeseburger is just right!!! I'm absolutely in love with the food!! On top of that Vanilla Milkshake to boot!!! I'm completely stuffed!!! Must try!!!
