The 15 Best Bread Bakeries in Paris | Eater

"With six locations across Paris and a name that’s fun to say, the French Bastards’ bakeries could get by on novelty alone. Thankfully that’s not the case. Breads incorporate ingredients like honey with figs, hazelnuts, plentiful seeds, rye flour, and more. Take a hearty loaf to go, and eat a caramel eclair on the way home." - Dayna Evans

I’m so happy I decided to try this place on my last morning in Paris 😍 I honestly can’t imagine having missed it. From the moment you step inside, the smell tells you that you’re about to eat something really good, and I was absolutely right. I tried the croissant, the cookie roll, and coffee. They warmed the pastries for me before serving, and from the first bite I felt like I was in heaven. The croissant was incredibly fluffy with a perfectly crispy exterior, and the butter flavor was just right. The cookie roll was simply amazing. Anyone reading this review should try this place ✨️, everything looked so good, I just wish I had the time (and stomach) to try it all.

Very nice bakery with delicious chocolate tartlets. It says pistachio as well but there was only a thin layer covering the tartlet which made it look nice. The pastry with pistachio could have a bit more creme but the dough was delicious and smooth. We enjoyed it.

Great pastries! The croissant and pain au chocolat were both excellent. The ham and cheese sandwich was also very good with exceptional bread. Although it could have used a bit more butter. Great service from the friendly staff too!

A very nice and fresh bakery with a wide variety of baked goods. I really loved the vibes, the cozy atmosphere, and the overall welcoming feel of the place. My only suggestion would be to enhance the quality of the coffee they serve, which would make the experience even more perfect

French Bastards Bakery was honestly disappointing. The pain suisse was nowhere near great, it was quite dry and really not gourmand at all. What makes it worse is the price, almost double what you pay in regular bakeries, while the quality doesn’t come close. It really feels like everything is focused on the brand image rather than the taste. For that price, there are many classic bakeries that do a much better job.

I had such a great experience at The French Bastards! The service was fantastic--everyone was super friendly and even helped me decide what to get. I went with the Pain Suisse, and wow... it was incredible. The chocolate and crème filling was rich and delicious, and the bread itself was perfectly soft and fresh. The bakery was busy, but there were plenty of spots to sit both inside and outside, making it a great place to enjoy your treat right away. Highly recommend stopping by if you're in Paris.

Definitely worth the hype! I got the cookie roll which was very good, the burrata sandwich (which was definitely one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had - the bread was top notch and ingredients were very high quality). The pain suisse was one well made pastry and the flan was creamy- made with vanilla beans. The service was great too- Alice was very lovely and attentive.
