I found out about this place through yelp. I set on the one dollar sign filter and searched by places closest to me. All I can say is that, I am glad I went. Though the wait to get the food is a little long, the food we got was glorious and well worth it.
The place wasn't in the best area, but growing up in the rougher parts of town, I was well aware of the fact that sometimes, the "rougher" the place, the better tasting the food was. We got the Big Tex Fries and the Philly fries. I would say that the fries itself were okay. Given the amount of food they have to churn out, I think it's perfect understandable. It seemed a soft and not as crispy-on-the-outside-and-creamy-on-the-inside as it could have been. I suggest you eat the fries as soon as you get it, and don't wait too long. I wouldn't say this is the fault of the restaurant; it's something that's inherent in the nature of fries.
However, the toppings were delicious! The Big Tex Fries were FULL of flavor and they didn't go light on the meat, which I fully appreciate. The sauce was good; there was a perfect balance of salty and sweet, which led to an explosion of flavors in my mouth. I believe there was not a fry that was untouched by the toppings/sauce. That alone deserves praise, because sometimes, places just haphazardly threw on toppings onto fries. The Philly fries were also good, but it didn't get the seal of authenticity from my friend from Pennsylvania. However, lack of authenticity doesn't mean that it's not good, because it was pretty delicious.
Overall, it's a pretty good place that gives you a lot of bang for your buck. (I had to force myself to finish it, because it was just a LOT of food). 4/5 stars!
