Where to Eat at the French Market | Eater New Orleans

"I found myself wandering the country's oldest outdoor market, a touristy stretch of stalls selling sunglasses, feathered masks, and alligator heads but also layered with history—this market has occupied the stretch since 1791, with WPA renovations in the 1930s and upgrades in the '70s and '80s. Despite the steady crowd, in August the main row of food stalls generally shuts down at a shocking 5 p.m. (though during Mardi Gras and spring they may stay open until 8), and the market's mix of long-standing vendors and festival energy gives it a persistent, lived-in vibe." - Allison Alsup

The place was cute but lacked basic amenities like toilets or a sink for customers. It offered a variety of cakes and pastries with a dine-in option. I got a latte with cinnamon, but it felt like I was drinking cinnamon powder—it had way too much cinnamon. The coffee itself was very light; I would have preferred a well-balanced drink without an overwhelming amount of cinnamon. I didn't try any pastries this time, though they looked appealing, but they seemed a bit pricey. I might try them next time.

My last visit was today. I usually come in and place my order in person and wait for my food but today I was specifically pressed for a time so I placed the order online to be able to zip in and out. I use the ordering service on their website in which I received an error message, stating that my order was not processed however, my card was still charged. By the time I made it into the store explaining to them that I made the payment and they could just simply make my food because at that point I’ve already paid for it. They’re saying they can’t. They’re not authorized blah blah blah. The recourse was I was supposed to call “toast” The third-party payment system and explain to them what happened. A simple transaction that should have just been a couple minutes now it’s going to take so much longer and added three unnecessary conversations. Their food and coffee is not good enough for all this drama, especially first thing in the morning.

Adorable little French market. The decor is rustic and beautiful. Both the food and the coffee were delicious. I had the Parisian ham and egg on a roll and it was larger than I had expected. Took home a small petite chocolate flourless cake topped with chocolate ganache (no picture as I forgot to take it before I ate it 😂) and it was rich and scrumptious. Cannot wait to go back and try something new.

My wife and I are on the #eatjersey challenge to have a meal in all 564 towns of NJ. We chose The French Market for Rumson, our 108th town. This beautiful cafe is decorated in a chic manner for atmosphere. It makes a great backdrop for your Instagram pictures. It is mostly designed for takeout, where all orders are taken at the counter. They have a limited number of tables to eat in the well-decorated space. However, all food is served in cardboard takeout boxes with plastic utensils, much like Chinese food. (That's not very French, and not very cafe-like either.) Given the way the cafe is decorated for folks who eat in, and in a well-to-do town like Rumson, I would have expected the option to eat on regular plates w/silverware. With that being said... the food was EXCELLENT! We both got crepes. One with egg, ham, & swiss, and the other with egg, spinach, & feta. We shared an order of French toast which was made with brioche bread. The crepes were served on a bed of salad, and the French toast was accompanied by a fruit cup. The cafe also has a selection of pastries and cheeses. We did not try any of these, but they looked good. If you're looking for crepes-to-go to satisfy your itch for brunch, the French Market should be on your list.

Google
It’s a lovely spot that presents itself as a quaint, artisanal market/coffee shop. Yet, I agree with a previous review that Kraft singles aren’t what you expect for a $13 “French” egg, ham, and cheese croissant. My sandwich had light molding on the cheese and a stray hair inside. Overall, I’m disappointed and recommend sticking to coffee.

Google
Charming stop for coffee, tea, pastries, and light bites. The location is absolutely beautiful and clean. We were instantly transported to France as soon as we approached the entrance. Staff were friendly and helpful and the almond croissant was perfect. We loved the paninis so much that we returned two days later to have them again. Parking is available next to the building, as well as on the street.

Google
My girlfriend and I took a chance picking this place. Very satisfied, I got the sausage egg and cheese on a croissant and was so happy with the egg being cooked perfectly, nice and fluffy and the cheese melted. My GF got the mushroom quiche and was also satisfied. For a treat to go, I got a giant chocholate chip cookie that was also delicious. The atmosphere of the interior is very cozy, prices are affordable, and employees are friendly. Very good find, if I visit the area again Im definitely coming back. Also for the coffee being freshly brewed, its so hard to find a good iced coffee that isnt watered down, they also nailed it on the spot for the coffee, a very great way to start my morning!!

Google
Just came in for a coffee and I was surprised how adorable it was inside. The muffins and coffee were delicious! More seating than I thought and they sell everything from glassware gift sets to cocktail mixers and cookies. They have a refrigerator dedicated to just French cheeses.

Yelp
Love it here. I've been there many times over the years and everything is always good. Bacon/egg/cheese croissant is my go to and then a dessert. The almond tarte is my favorite but no longer available. Hopefully they'll bring it back one day. I feel like I'm in Europe when I come here.

Yelp
If you don't like sweet coffee, I would not get coffee. It is a cute cafe with a few seats. Try not getting a cake!!

Yelp
Was our fav spot. Took friends & visitors there, it was a special place to bring people, but sadly it has been very disappointing the last couple of times we have been there Cold latte, sad little sandwich, béchamel tomato delish goodness was lackluster. All becoming crazy expensive Unfortunately won't go there anymore

Yelp
Hungry for breakfast one morning, we passed by the French market in Rumson, New Jersey. The inside and outside is very cute. The atmosphere looked very nice and rustic. However, when we sat down and ordered our food, the staff did not deliver for 45 minutes to an hour. the owner was very apologetic for missing our order. As a consolation, she gave us two free pastries to go. We may go back to try it again some other time.

Yelp
The French Market is trendy, it's very nice inside. Lots of good healthy choices. I went with the "French Market" grain bowl and my wife had the chef salad. The grain bowl was filled with healthy items. Shredded Brussels sprouts, broccoli, red quinoa, pumpkin seeds, figs, and a really nice piece of burrata to add some decadence. I felt very healthy after finishing it. My wife enjoyed her salad as well. Nice place to get a meal near the beach.

Yelp
First of all, the ambience is incredible. The smell alone is worth the trip. Also the staff looks kind of cool in their French mime style striped outfits. The food is great. The carrot cake is delicious, and the almond croissant is to die for. I'd love to go back again soon. Bravo!

Kristin T.

Yelp
What happened? This used to be one of our favorite places to stop into. The ambiance is great, and the food was great. However, on the recent visit, it was a major disappointment. We ordered a ham sandwich ($16) and it was served with a single slice of deli ham. The quality has significantly decreased, and the prices have increased.

Yelp
Very beautiful place! I had egg& cheese on a crepe which was very nice.& coffee was good. Outdoor seating area was nice. No bathroom available for customers.

Yelp
French Market is an adorable cafe/shop with a cozy feeling inside and out. I ordered a medium coffee with the La Figue (ham, brie, and fig jam crepe), which came out to $19. When I went to fill my cup, both their urns (one medium roast and the other dark) were out. I was able to have it immediately filled behind the counter, however did not see anyone refill/replace the empty dispensers. My crepe came with a small side of greens, making a complete meal for me. The crepe was filled with loads of Parisian ham, chunks of brie, and dollops of jam, enough to feel sated. It all went together well and the ingredients tasted like they were high quality, but I have had similar crepes that I've enjoyed more. The crepe itself seemed like it was precooked then stuffed and reheated to order vs everything made to order. I would give this place a 3.5 - 3.75 stars if I could. My overall experience wasn't the best but also wasn't terrible. The food didn't quite hit the mark for me, but I loved how the cafe brought the outside in as the green and light in the back created a nice ambiance.

Yelp
Pastries are stale - they try to refresh them from unsold lots the prior day(s). Therefore, some of the food isn't what it seems to be. It is overpriced. An unfortunate downturn.

Yelp
I've been to the colts neck location, and while this place seems a tad smaller, I felt like they offered more. I ordered a coffee, a couple of croissants and an Asiago loaf, for around $20. Croisssnts were quite unique, a lemon and thyme and a strawberry one. You could tell they made the strawberry filling themselves, it wasn't too sweet and there were chunks of strawberry in it. The coffee was okay, though I wish it wasn't a self serve container. I don't really care for the bread, it was a bit stodgy, probably from the cheese. But a nice spot in the back (and some in the front) with lots of light!

Yelp
Cozy place nestled in beautiful Rumson. High quality coffee and food I have not experienced exceptional service.

Stephen B.

Yelp
Overpriced for what you get. Got the Parisian Ham and cheese omelette. The cheese was a cheap processed single. As a European the French would be ashamed to have their country associated with food like this.

Yelp
My kind of place. Tiny little shop in Rumson New Jersey-from the street it looks like a tiny house with a giant tree covered in ivy out front. Inside delicious delectables abound.....linzer cookies, light and flaky croissants, spinach stuffed pastries and YUM sandwiches. My spinach lattice topped pastry was SO simply good-light, buttery and filled with spinach and cheese. Very much enjoyed my Brie, fig jam and salty ham sandwich on crispy bread..... The back room has the feel of a little French garden....very nice place to sit and enjoy your food and shop for special candles, soaps and hand creams. Adore these small family owned businesses that serve simple perfection. Parking available on the side.

Yelp
The food and atmosphere. It's a quaint little spot that does pastries right & creative yogurt parfaits!!!! Deliciously amazing.

Yelp
Visiting Jersey from out of state, really hard to find good restaurants for such a short trip. My friend and I took a chance picking this place. Very satisfied, I got the sauasage egg and cheese on a croissant and was so happy with the egg being cooked perfectly, nice and fluffy and the cheese melted. My friend got the mushroom quiche and was also satisfied. For a treat to go I got a giant chocholate chip cookie that was also delicious. The atmosphere of the interior is very cozy, prices are affordable, and employees are friendly. Very good find, if I visit the area again Im definitely coming back. Yelp
I went by the new Colts Neck location on a rainy day around 12 PM for some French Onion Soup. I had heard only good things so I was excited to go, especially because I love that soup and there aren't many authentic French markets/restaurants around. As stated in other reviews, the ambiance is outstanding. It's very minimalist, but you feel transported outside of Colts Neck with the French music, French paintings, and gorgeous array of desserts on display. It was very clean inside which is a plus for me. I went to go order and was informed they did not have any French onion soup. I was very disappointed and confused as to how it had run out so quickly, but oh well. as something that is supposed to be a staple, I was frustrated there was none for lunch. I ended up getting La Figue sandwich which is ham, Brie, and fig jam on a baguette. It was amazing! It wasn't too big and the proportions were great. I also got a chocolate croissant which was so delicious. It was buttery and again, not overly large which I appreciate. I ate there and was pleased at the dining space, with its plants and paintings. I will say that the crowd really makes the experience. The area was packed and because it is a small space, it was extremely loud. Like, so loud I couldn't hear myself think. It's no fault of the market, just something I experienced. If it wasn't as packed, I would have had a super relaxing lunch. I will go back, hopefully they have the soup!

Yelp
Very good! I came here for a quick lunch today and I got the ham and Brie sandwich with fig spread which was delicious. I also got an almond croissant which was fantastic. I agree that it is a bit pricey for a grab and go lunch place, but it was very good and something that the area needed. There isn't a place like it around here and I appreciate that it offers something that no one else does. Also the vibes inside and outside are adorable!

Yelp
Nice little place in Rumson. Great selection of quiches and pastries. I had the quiche Lorraine and coffee, both very good. Small seating area in back of place. I highly recommend this place and will return when in the area.
google avatar

Marc L.

Yelp
Very quaint quiet clean relaxed gourmet café. Everything looks so delicious. I had the croissant right out of the oven amazing! I know it's nitpicking but I wish they would've served me my food on a plate instead of out of a box. I did tell him I was staying. Otherwise no complaints the food in the coffee were on the money.
google avatar

Yelp
Way overpriced. Food made me sick several times. The "children" that work there do not know how to handle food correctly. They handle food with their barehands. I noticed there is constant turnover with their staff. They are very friendly. Food is bland but so expensive. Cute place to dine inside.

Yelp
The French Marketis lacking, lacking a lot. I guess if you but a mediocre eatery in a high end town where people will throw money on anything before they cook then you will have a successful business. The salads are soaked in oil, omelets drenched in butter and oil from the wilted salad greens served in the same container. Their bakery items are borderline terrible. French market, I assume because of your lack of competition in the area you are still open. I cannot think of one thing I have had that I would love to have again. I recently came in and bought a bunch of mini cakes, my family and I tried 2 and then trashed the other 4. Very disappointing.

Ornela Q.

Yelp
I'm so in love with this cafe. The food, drinks and staff are exceptional! One of my favorite items to order is the Spinach and Goat cheese omelette and it is by far the best thing I've ever had. Additionally, the variety of treats and coffees are so delicious.
google avatar

Sarah S.

Yelp
Their beignets are like a bite out of heaven! A must go if you miss Paris. Staff always friendly even when busy. It's such a cute little cafe.
google avatar

Sabrina L.

Yelp
Very cute place with delicious food and baked goods. The bakery is in the front and there's a little green house café area in the back. The food is definitely overpriced but I guess you're paying for the atmosphere. Definitely recommend the French onion soup. They also sell French home goods/beauty stuff

Me M.

Yelp
Pastries looked amazing but when I got them home the tarts-the lemon & key lime & pear & fruit tarts were mostly all crust with barely any filling! Horrible!! I spent $89 !! SO DISSAPPOINTED!! Lemon curd was like sand && the pastry cream was like glue. Awful! I took one bite & threw it out. Couldn't eat it. I won't go to this place again. Over priced & underfilled! See my pics of them.

Yelp
Not quite a hidden gem, because it's definitely too popular to be hidden. But it's still the type of place that you'd drive right by if you weren't looking for it in the first place. Up front is a patisserie/fromagerie combo, with fantastic pastries, cheeses, sandwiches, quiches, etc. Don't be fooled by the simplicity of some of the items: the Parisian ham on a buttered roll is fantastic! In the back of the store is a combination space that serves as a greenhouse for fresh flowers, a soap/candle/lotions store, and a small indoor dining room. So quaint, so beautifully decorated, and the fragrances from all the soaps, candles, and beauty products tickle the air while you enjoy your food. On this visit, we opted to share the croque madame and the quiche lorraine. Both were great. The croque madame was prepared perfectly, and when that yolk broke and drizzled over the sandwich, it was poetic. The quiche had a perfectly light egg filling within a succulent, dense, buttery crust. It was the kind of dish that, even when you're stuffed, you can't bear to see that last bite go to waste, so you cram it down to avoid regret. We also had some of their fresh orange juice this time - we had never had it before - and it was amazing. So much so that we grabbed another one from the cooler on our way out (along with the Nutella beignets and a huge chocolate chip cookie!). If there's any bad food here, we have yet to find it.

Yelp
Little slice of Paris in a small Jersey shore town. I needed fresh bread the morning of Thanksgiving, but every place was closed due to the holiday. I saw on Instagram that the French Market was open all morning, so I decided to stop by. When I walked through the front door, I was so pleasantly surprised! Between the smell of fresh baguettes, French music playing, and nice employees welcoming me- I began to love it here! I was amazed by the number of specialty cheeses, breads, pies, cookies, pastries, and cakes. Everything on display looked delicious. The menu was also appetizing with every crepe, pancake, or sandwich you could imagine. I made myself a coffee which was filled with flavor. Then, I ordered my fresh bread to go. While the employee was grabbing it for me, I was looking at the pastries and couldn't resist! I got the coffee scone and butter scone to go. It was delicious. When I visited the French Market, I truly felt like I was in a European cafe. I can't wait to go back again!

Nancy W.

Yelp
The French Market recently catered an event for me and it was AMAZING! Not only was the food fresh and delicious but presentation was exceptional. They worked with me to plan the perfect party menu and every detail was attended to! Exceeded my expectations. I'm still receiving compliments. I highly recommend.

Yelp
We wanted to grab a quick breakfast before heading to the beach and this spot was excellent. First off they had oat milk as an alternative milk selection for coffee, secondly their crepes were delicious. Simple ingredients cooked to perfection. We had a crepe with egg, spinach and goat cheese- as well as a crepe with turkey, brie, apple and honey mustard. The eggs were fluffy, the ingredients fresh. The egg, spinach and cheese croissant was also very fulfilling. We tried a burrata with fig jam in a cranberry walnut bread sandwich which was excellent- the first time we got it, we were given 2 big orbs of burrata. The second time we ordered it, each sandwich had half a burrata orb. It was good either way, but very sweet. The quiches (mushroom was my favorite) were perfect. The only miss here was the cheesecake we had. It was pretty, the flavors layered and you could taste the lavender, but the graham cracker crust was overwhelming to the rest of the flavors and I wouldn't order it again for this reason. It was dense, small, and overpowered by cinnamon. We did sit outside socially distanced from the next table over. They also have a jasmine plant near the entrance that smells so good- if you don't have allergies- don't miss smelling this jasmine plant!

Yelp
I just discovered the French Market in Colts neck when it opened a few weeks ago. I absolutely love it. The staff, the owners, the quality of food and drinks are absolutely amazing. You will not be disappointed. It's a little slice of Paris right in the middle of New Jersey. a must go!

Yelp
Amazing baked goods and Edith Piaf while you wait in line, what's not to like? Plus the coffee was delicious

Yelp
A great local spot for coffee and a sandwich or baked good. I would say the service and staff have improved over the years. It is a unique gem and happy to have it so close to home.
google avatar

Yelp
Today I went to the French Market in Colt's Neck. I got the Le Frenchie sandwich, whole wheat baguette and cranberry walnut bread that came to close to $30. Bread is good, but the sandwich that I ordered literally had just ham and some Brie on it. It was good, but very overpriced. They don't even give you plates. I get that it's a grab and go kind of place, but if I'm paying boutique prices, you really should give me a plate to eat on. I can't picture this place staying open through 2022. You should consider collaborating with your local vendors (Delicious Orchards, the brewery, just to name a couple). At the very least, get some paper plates for your customers.
google avatar

Yelp
I feel bad posting this as the owners clearly note they are severely understaffed but OMG, definitely go somewhere else for your morning routine. After paying a whopping $25 for two coffees, a quiche and a side salad, it took 45 minutes to get said quiche and they forgot to give me my side salad altogether. Pandemic aside, their system seems super flawed as two out of three employees didn't know how to use the POS system and seem to prioritize online/phone orders over in person fulfillment. Also was unclear why the young woman was refilling croissants versus actually being helpful and moving things along for the crowded establishment. As someone who has worked in the service industry, I was dumb founded by the lack of courtesy as well. It's a cute place and the food looked/was good. Unfortunately, I'm not too optimistic that they can get their act together and turn this mess around.

Yelp
i used to love coming to this place all the time as a cute lunch spot.. things changed for sure and i'd agree with all of the other recent reviews that this place is going downhill. i ordered from here a few months back and my sandwich which used to be around $12 for the most amazing sandwich (l'italian) and they used to fill it up with prosciutto. i paid $22 for the same sandwich not even a year later and there was a single slice of prosciutto on my sandwich. I was greatly disappointed by this as i just spent around $20! i was shocked when the key ingredient in this sandwich is the french prosciutto. I just feel like the staff does not try anymore and everything is premade and in boxes. in my opinion i feel like they should serve in house orders on plates instead of boxes. The quality of their ingredients is definitely there but they are skimping and scamming everyone lately. After my last order i don't ever want to order from there again, would rather save the money. It's very easy to make at home for under $20. it was nice to go there for the experience at the time but sadly i will no longer be coming back.

Yelp
My first time here, idk why this place would be downgraded. It's really good. Big menu, delicious crepes! Decadent desserts (mmmm brownie) that they all make in-house. Lots of tea and coffee options. Friendly service. Lots of cute trinkets for sale. Very French feel and has outdoor seating, albeit not a lot of seating altogether and my understanding is Sunday's are packed.
google avatar

Christine H.

Yelp
Love the food but the wait is killer. Standing here close to 30 minutes waiting for 2 panini and an iced tea to go. Recommend not going during lunch hours.

Clare G.

Yelp
Very nice place for a breakfast, lunch or coffee in Rumson. On the negative side, the staff can be clueless. Today, it was raining and all the tables inside were occupied including two that were being used by employees. Instead of giving up the tables to paying customers ($50 for lunch), the workers continued to use the tables to do paperwork while we had to wipe down the outside tables due to the rain. It is a small negative but a sign that the staff need better training.

James C.

Yelp
Positives: very pretty, quant, picturesque, amazing prepared foods and treats, authentic French experience, best baguette around Cons: unorganized order management can be very frustrating, severely inconsistent with specialty coffee preparation (iced coffees are often warm and watered down), employees can come off aloof and unwelcoming.
google avatar

Heather H.

Yelp
I am updating my review on the French market due to the service. I was just there again the other day and was given the completely wrong order. This is not the first time this has happened. Unfortunately we didn't have time to go back after realizing it was not the right order so just ate the sandwiches that were given to us. I have had them forget to give me parts of my order in the past or just give me the wrong items. That being said, I still love the food at the French market so I continue to return. I hope that they come up with a better system for orders.
google avatar

Nick W.

Yelp
I had a last minute need for floral centerpieces for an event. I saw floral arrangements on their IG page. This led me to discover the world of The French Market. The centerpieces were beyond my expectations in originality and beauty. Additionally they thrived for about 10 days after the event and we are now drying them for permanent display. While at the market I gained understanding of the level of quality and pride that goes into their products. There simply is nothing comparable to their level in our area. The staff was wonderful and very accommodating. I left with some of their, what I would consider, "world class" baked goods. Don't miss all the good this gem has to offer!!
google avatar

Yelp
I've been to the French Market 4 times now, and I don't even live in N.J. It's so good that every time I visit Rumson, I have to stop in for their breakfast! I highly recommend the breakfast croissants. Their homemade croissants are buttery and amazing. But even better with egg & cheese with either bacon, sausage or spinach inside! Love love love this place!

Yelp
We had a great breakfast here! I recommend ordering on the self serve kiosk to your left when you walk in! Crepes were great and the chocolate filled pastry we got for later was a great after dinner treat!

Yelp
When my friend called and asked to do lunch, we decided to try this place even though we got a little nervous with some of the reviews. We arrived at 11:45 am on a Tuesday and it was very light in patronage. We were able to grab some seats either inside or out. We choose inside due to air conditioner. I ordered TFM3 Le Ponka which was excellent! The kalamata olive bread brought out the complex taste between the French prosciutto, fresh mozzarella and the olive oil and the balsamic vinegar. Truly recommend. My friend ordered the TFM8 Vegetarian Croque Monsieur which was basically tomatoes with melted Swiss cheese on white bread topped with Bechamel sauce. My friend received her boxed packet but it was the wrong sandwich. Since there was only one chef who makes everything we sincerely felt bad but she's a strict vegetarian so no, the chicken sandwich had to go back. That was another while longer. At least we know the chef is making it fresh. Finally she receives it and she is eating her sandwich. I inquired"how is it?" She said it was ok but she wished the sandwiches would come with a salad. She would have also preferred the bread to be something more exciting than white bread. I felt bad for her so we decided to split a peach tart to leave with a sweet taste in our mouths. It was rich, creamy and not overly sweet. It hit the spot perfectly. Needless to say, I ran back and bought home two mini chocolate croissants. Did not disappoint at all. Will be back.

Yelp
Hard to go wrong here with endless options of sandwiches, salads, quiche, and pastries - all of which are fresh and delicious. Great ambiance in the store with trinkets galore, oozing with both Parisian and Santa Barbara vibes.

Yelp
The French Market is like an upscale eatery in Rumson with little french foods and coffee and pastries! My friend and I were going somewhefe else for her birthday but ended up coming here!!!! It was perfect!!! The atomosphere is awesome espicially when its nice out but the inside is even cuter!!! I usually get a crossiant sandwich with egg and spinach with brie cheese. It was BOMB!!!! My friend got the bacon egg and cheese crossiant sandwich and cried because it was so good. In conclusion, this place is great! I got my dad a FATHERS DAY present here- lemon honey candies in a glass jar (fancy af) I got my boyfriend a CHOCOLATE LAVA CAKE and french market helped me with refrigdating and other needed untensils for the perfect gift. I love this place so shocked it gas 3 stars. I had one bad experience though. They ran out of caramel so it kinda stunk. She came outside to me and told me she would return the drink. I ended up getting an iced coffee but the coffee is sitting in these PLASTIC containers... kinds gross not gonna lie. I would say possible have glass container holding iced coffee that could be poured into cups. Plastic is digusting espically after being sat in for couple of hours, (MOST PEOPLE KNOW THIS) so bad on that part. Workers there are nice however, this one time I WAS SO MAD, usually almond milk needs to be shaken after it sits for a while. So i took the bottle and was about to shake it when the entire TOP FELL OFF and it spilt all over me and my outfit! I just got dis new dress and I WAS SOOOO FLIPPIN MAD. The girl who WORKS THERE didnt even help me or say sorry just looked at me with a dirty look and walked away. Not even to clean up the area or help me. So bad customer service. I was so angry with that. The coffee sucked too it tasted terrible. So never again with iced coffee sittin in plastic containers!!! Also sometimes the crossiants are dry and stale. I got a mini crossiant and took a bite of it and the top was so hard that the inside dusted into my mouth. I went back to the counter and asked for anither one because the crossiant was hard as a brick. She said no problem but then started saying how the chocolate is meant to be hard. Honey. I know that chocolate is hard. Im not stupid. Also I LOVE CROSSIANTS so dont even fight with me. The other kne she gave me was better but a little stale as well.

Yelp
The staff is clearly overwhelmed and understaffed. There are frequent mix ups with food & beverage orders. The desserts, quiches, sandwiches, and soup are not made fresh because The French Market doesn't have the facilities to make these items. I know because my friend worked there that the soup comes from a can and that everything else on the menu is premade /frozen. The French soaps and trinkets are bought off of Etsy and sold at a 60% markup. The coffee is the only authentic item on the menu. This place is not worth your time or money.
