We arrived here around 9:30am on a Sunday and it was empty. The service is a little strange - we had to ask for water, for example, but our food came out very fast. Their two person tables are very small so we couldn’t keep our plates out of arms reach of our baby so we had to sit at a 4 person table instead. One dish came on a paper plate and the other came on a normal plate. The whole experience felt a little bit like they’d just opened and were working out the kinks, but this place has been opened for years. Anyway, the crepes were very authentic - I haven’t had crepes like this since actually being in France. We had the banana sweet crepe and the ham, bacon and cheese. The cheese is more of a béchamel than melted cheese, but the hit of nutmeg was lovely. We’d eat here again.

Absolutely lovely. The ladies working were so sweet and genuine and the food was delicious. Had to walk past some construction and the entrance was a little odd, almost made my mother turn back, but we’re both so glad I convinced her to push past it! Its small and cozy with a restaurant/serve yourself mix thats really well done. We got the Croque Monsieur, Strawberry Crepe, Regular Coffee, and a Mocha. They were all fantastic.

Google
Even with full construction next door its a little breakfast heaven .. The marshmallow latte that had freshly toasted marshmallows, the chocolate banana crepe was so well done and the croissant French toast was to die for . Service with a genuine smile from everyone was awesome.

Google
Great food, great atmosphere, good service. The Macarons are amazing. There is construction going on around it, but you can park around the corner in the parking lot. Worth the walk!

Google
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Authentic French Excellence at The French Spot! Dining at The French Spot was an unforgettable experience. The chef is a true artisan—a real French chef who pours passion and soul into every dish. You can taste his dedication in every bite. The pâté was perfectly balanced and full of depth, while the French onion soup had that rich, caramelized sweetness that only comes from meticulous, slow preparation. And the gratin dauphinois? Absolutely authentic—creamy, comforting, and cooked to perfection. This isn’t just a meal; it’s a culinary journey. If you appreciate food made with heart and tradition, this is the place. A true gem for anyone who loves genuine French cuisine!

Google
Great spot for lunch or breakfast! I got the ham and cheese sandwich which comes with fresh salad. The sandwich had a lot of cheese but yummy.

Google
Loved the food, but the 1 server/cashier (might be owner?) really came across as indifferent and should probably not be working front line position. Rap music playing at moderate volume from a portable speaker kind of killed the French vibe, but maybe it's just me. All that said, savoury food was very good - think I would avoid macaron as was stale.

Google
Such good food and owner and employees were so friendly! The owner even brought us mini hot chocolates on the house while we waited for our food. The crepes and iced coffee were delicious!

Yelp
I ordered a delicious onion soup with baguettes. Finished with strawberry & Nutella crepe. YUM! Great service. Parking lot is under construction right now.

Kathryn H.

Yelp
We saw a nest like 20+ cockroaches (idk how many it was, too many to count!) under the front desk where the menus, coffee and baked goods are. We don't know if they took care of the infestation! Will not go back.

Yelp
If you could give a 0 I would have. Walked in and it smelled like it was dirty. Girl behind the counter didn't even acknowledge us when we walked in. We left and went somewhere else. Restaurants are a service business so first impression make all the difference. Staff should act like they are happy you chose to come to their restaurant.

Genny D.

Yelp
My hubby and I tried the macarons and the chocolate mousse. Both were very good. The young lady behind the counter was very nice. There is construction next door.right now, so it's not fair to rate their outside seating right now.

Yelp
What happened to the French family who established this place and used to be onsite every day? The new crew is very nice but the food has gone precipitately downhill. Our breakfasts this morning are just piles of things on a plate. Salad tomatoes hard and tasteless; avocado barely sliced. The pastry selection very lackluster. I'm hoping the owners will come back and right the ship.

Yelp
We were excited to try this place as it opens earlier than most places in Cedar. At first we sat inside and the music was loud and it looked really dirty. There were flies buzzing around and we ordered and asked if we could sit outside. The place got busy and they brought us half our order and then forgot about us. We were almost done with the one meal and I went back in visibly upset and she said sorry, will bring it right out, they did not. Had to go in again and wanted a refund but she said 2 minutes, I asked for it to go. It finally came and the crepes were freezing cold. We had mimosas and 2 breakfasts and it was 80 bucks. Won't be back. Terrible service and to top it off, flat tire right after leaving there as all I can think is the construction in the parking lot. Not a happy customer

Yelp
We had a lunch of sandwiches with salads with pastries for desert. The food did not disappoint! Wish we could say the same for the service. That is a bizarre mystery to me. No French spoken here. In fact other than an initial "hello" the service was basically non-existent and zero personality or friendliness. Hopefully we just happened in on a bad day. But the food was great. Also our gps took us to a tiny little shack across the block also called the French Spot but was closed. It was very confusing until we found the new location.

Yelp
When we were planning our Zion road trip it looked like Breakfast in Cedar City would be a thing. So, logically, I took to Yelp and found The French Spot! After checking out of our Air B&B, we headed down. We parked around the block and strolled to the restaurant where we were greeted by the friendly folks inside. This adorable little shop was sweetly decorated with a few small tables ready for customers. My dear husband ordered their special, The Pate, and he was over the moon with it. This is not something you can get just anywhere of course! Served with a side salad, baguette and cornichons he said it was just lovely. I had a Croque Monsieur that was amazing and our tea and coffee was also super good. Our friends hand ham sandwiches and avocado toast both of which they enjoyed as well. For dessert we shared a Passion Fruit Macaron and it was very good with well balanced sweetness. What a wonderful way to start your day!

Yelp
A small restaurant by a lot of construction, so we opted for inside dining, though they have a patio off to the side. We went after 2, and ordered quickly. Our food got delivered before our drinks, which were two lemonades, so that was a bit awkward. I ordered Strawberry French toast which was more a bread pudding and had fresh strawberries smothering it. Every bite was a yummy sound of joy. My sweetie had the Pastrami baguette sandwich and enjoyed that very much as well. Macaron, while large as a standard cookie and also sold at the Shakespeare Festival up the road, were unfortunately hit or miss depending on the flavor; some were stale as if sitting for days and some had little flavor. Nutella one was great. Service was odd..there were two women behind the counter and then a little older man came from the back and was mainly talking with a customer. We started in there by ourselves but had a two top and a pick up order come in after. Food and macaron were around $45. They have a condiment stand off to the side of the counter and also to go boxes. About 8 tables inside, with some as two tops and some as 6-8 tops.

Yelp
"The French Spot" in Cedar City is a delightful surprise tucked away in this small town north of Zion National Park. Despite its unassuming location, this charming French bistro offers a culinary experience that is both delightful and delicious. The pastries are heavenly, and I found myself indulging in their quiche and salad platter, which left me thoroughly impressed. The ambiance of the place adds to its charm, and the variety of coffees along with adult beverages like beer and wine make it a versatile spot for any time of day. Whether you're passing through or staying a while to explore the area, The French Spot is a must-visit for food enthusiasts seeking a taste of France in the heart of Utah's scenic beauty. Bonus that it is Even open on Sundays which in Utah is a rare find

Yelp
Super cute lil place!!! Small area to park but there is some behind the hotel there next too. There macarons were to DIE FOR my fav....LAVENDER!!! Super fresh and their coffee was really good too! I love French pastries and if you do too...this is where it's at!

Yelp
We have been eating at the French Spot for a few years now, every time we are in town. At first, just sandwiches. On Friday evening, July 4, our family of 6 had a full dinner, and it was delicious. We had our 2 dogs with us, so we ate on their patio. This required multiple trips by our server, who was always nice & polite. The gal who took our order was patient and helpful. The food was delicious, crisp (salads), fresh, and the dressing was light and very satisfying. The quiche was filling and seasoned perfectly. The salmon sandwich, tomato soup, chicken dish, and spaghetti carbonara were all thoroughly enjoyable. The chef checked on us, and they brought out a bucket of water for our dogs. I didn't ask for this, but the dogs appreciated their drinks. All in all, if anything on their menu catches your eye, and palate, you will be pleased you stopped in. We will absolutely be back.

Yelp
I would give them zero star if I could! How can you run a coffee shop like this! We make coffee at home and it tastes 10 times better! First thing first, they NEVER rinse off the portafilter in between each shots, they left the used filter on the counter! It definitely affects the taste! The espresso machine is so filthy! Secondly, they freaking add table water to my americano in front of my eyes! How LAZY can you be?! We had a caramel macchiato and it was soooooo grosss! They didn't bother to melt the sauce before the ice. Seriously! Don't go there for coffee please!

Javan G.

Yelp
Food was pretty good, but a little pricey. We were brought the wrong order initially and no utensils. The French toast was good, but it's extremely rich - my wife couldn't even finish it and she loves sweet breakfast dishes. It's not a bad place by any means, but we went for breakfast during a weekend visit to Cedar City and it was our least favorite place we ate out of 4 restaurants.

Yelp
Right on Main Street in Cedar City, we came across this little French bistro on our way to Vegas. Excellent baguette, house-made soup, pâté, bakery treats, macarons, and gelato -- all with that authentic European touch. A great stop!
google avatar

Yelp
Wow!, This small "spot" packs a wallop. We were not that hungry so we shared the Salmon plate. My wife had the ginger lemonade, I had a mango pineapple smoothie. My wife thought her drink was about the best lemonade she has ever had. Not sweet, just enough ginger to give it a zing, My mango smoothie was filled with...you guessed it, mango chunks. Then the salmon came, on a bed of lettuce and tomatoes with a nice dressing. I don't get through Cedar City often, I can guarantee I need no reminding that this is the place I will return to for food in Cedar City. Thank you for a great "spot" of food.

Yelp
The food was good. But the coffee was amazing. I have never had anything like it. The avocado toast was different than anything than I have ever had and would definitely order it again. The service was great.

Lily R.

Yelp
Despite the construction that was going on just outside the restaurant, the dining area was full. Service was good and the food and dessert was excellent.

Yelp
Best place to eat in cedar city! The eggs are creamy and delicious and the salad is really fresh. Highly recommend!

Yelp
The little restaurant is a hidden gem! We were overnighting in Cedar City and stumbled upon this delicious restaurant. They have a small indoor dining room but we sat on the dog friendly patio. They brought our dog a bowl of water. Nice touch! We ordered the salmon over fresh greens and chicken with pine nuts and balsamic vinegar reduction. We had a raspberry macaroon and peach tart for dessert. Everything was absolutely delicious! I recommend The French Spot and we'll definitely eat there the next time we're passing thru Cedar City. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed m.

Yelp
No pics... sorry! Late breakfast and swallowed it. Solid place to visit that's LOCAL! Great food. Friendly service. They added a patio since my last visit, which I love! The inside is too hot in the summer (darn French) to sit, so it's great to be outside.
google avatar

Marilu R.

Yelp
I love going there for their macarons and also for their breakfasts. My husband loves their crepes!
google avatar

Kristie J.

Yelp
Wow, this place was delicious one of the best croc madame I've ever had and the macaroons were also some of the best I've ever had. They are large and have a ton of filling which I'd love but it wasn't too sweet they were absolutely perfect. This is a cute little shop. It's really nice for a little family outing or a nice date. The coffee is also very good too.
google avatar

Jennifer R.

Yelp
The BEST French food I've had outside of France. Croque monsieur and French cafe salad are delicious. Scalloped potatoes and almond croissant are also favorites. We make it a point to visit whenever we are in southern Utah!
google avatar

Kristin E.

Yelp
We were dropping off our ski rentals around the corner and needed some breakfast. Wow, this place delivers! Large portions and delicious: a rare combo in my view. Everything is cooked to order, so sit and relax as the chef prepares your feast.
google avatar

Eric A.

Yelp
The food was actually pretty good! I felt like what i got for what i paid was pretty fair for a little sit down shop. the coffee however (which is customizable) was not up to par with anything i've ever had. i got a regular iced coffee (caramel, vanilla, white chocolate) and it kinda tastes like vinegar. i took one sip and was done with it. $9.95 for a 20z. each add on ( caramel and such ) was $0.65 a pump. which is CRAZY. Bristlecone just down the street has FAR superior coffee i would definitely recommend them. Food good, coffee horrendous
google avatar

William K.

Yelp
Honestly, I was disappointed. The Nutella Latte was very good. I also got the French Onion soup which was not. My dining partner ordered the tomato soup, which you had run out of. She got the French Onion instead which I had already ordered a bowl myself. Having been an Executive Chef myself, this soup needs a LOT of work. It was watery, poorly seasoned and it had a distinct burnt taste in the back of the throat. It is not severed au Gratin as a proper French Onion should and the soup itself almost looks like it's more of a purée than as proper soup. It does come with some croton au gratin on the side, but they are dry with the wrong type of cheese melted on top. Someone needs to teach your kitchen staff how to make a proper soup! I also got a fruit tartlet. The crust was a bit overdone and was also a bit too thick. It shouldn't feel like biting into a protein bar, but it should melt in your mouth. Which it certainly did not do. There was no proper custard in the tartlet itself and the pineapple on top was simply thrown on. Because of all of that, the tartlet was definitely a bit dry. You are so close but just not quite there on every aspect. The restaurant itself is under dressed for its theme with virtually zero music for ambiance. The staff needs more training. It would appear as if no one is really cross trained so instead of each person working together to get each guest served, they have to wait for ur specific person to become available. This causes the ordering process to become overly cumbersome and lengthy, which slows the entire experience down to a crawl. Everyone should know how to do each job proficiently and quickly in an operation like this. For a place that received 4 1/2 starts, I'm trying to figure out where the other Star and a half ran away to? And compared to other places in Cedar City, this place really needs to step up its game!
google avatar

James R.

Yelp
It's been years since we first stumbled upon this place when it was in their other location. It's owned by a French family and is legit! The French onion soup was a tad bland but good. The quiche was also a little dry. The hot chocolate was good. Perhaps their pastries are the way to go?

Howard R.

Yelp
Charming little restaurant with friendly and professional staff. The quiche and salad platter and French toast with strawberries were great for brunch. (see photo) No better light dinning when in town for Shakespeare.
google avatar

Lila C.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place! Try everything, it's very delicious, you have to get there earlier or you'll miss out on a lot of happiness

Yelp
Stopped in for a quick breakfast on the go. Love finding unique spots like this with good food! Breakfast quiche was delicious and loved getting those vegetables in early! Kids highly recommend the macaroons, particularly the cotton candy ones Stop by and enjoy a little slice of France!

Mem G.

Yelp
Extremely good food and amazing service. Best spot in town. Love the croissants and pastries.

Yelp
the best! You feel like you're somewhere else while eating here, don't count calories, enjoy it

Yelp
Our airbnb was nearby and while looking for places to eat, this was one of the higest-ranking ones. Since I constantly need my coffee fix, we decided to have some light snacks (aka dessert) to go with my coffee. My daughter and I shared a crepe and ordered a couple of macarons when were there. I especially loved the macarons and they are certainly the best tasting and very much worth it considering the size and amount of filling! We loved it so much that we came back the next day and ordered six more macarons that we happily snacked on during our three-hour drive.

Yelp
We visited this place last time we came to Utah . Since then they have upgraded from a stand into a actually building. Everything here is extremely delicious. It's very flavorful and the croissants are extremely soft and always fresh made. Don't forget to get one of the many amazing coffee flavor and a huge macaroon to go! It's a authentic french restaurant.

Yelp
Wow a real French experience in Cedar city! So good and can't wait to go back. Thanks

Yelp
Food and coffee were both excellent as other yelpers have mentioned. The Girl who took our order, ?cooked, and waitressed didn't seem too happy to be at work and not very communicative. We weren't sure if she would deliver our coffee and food to us outside (she seemed to be the only one working). Also, it was early morning and still cool outside yet the misters were on and it was difficult to sit outside and not get wet.

Yelp
Kaden was awesome. Service was extremely friendly. You could see the smile through the mask. Im simple when it comes to coffee. Latte with Almond Milk. No sugar. I usually order black because I can tell if the beans are tasty delicious. Tonight I was in the mood for a little almond milk. Lol. Beautiful space & if we weren't driving home right now, I would have just stayed & enjoyed my coffee there. keep up the great work. Glad Kaden was there to make sure you & your team received a 5 star review. I only had a coffee so Im unaware of the other items & food on the menu. we are all worthy of being here. we are all worthy of being loved. blessings & unconditional love. always. Yelp
We had a strong craving for dessert late evening and found this place. Despite the fact that we came in less than one hour before closing, the staff was very nice and accommodating. We ordered a piece of apricot tarte and decaf coffee to share. The tarte was delicious: not too sweet, flavorful and very authentic. Coffee tasted great as well. We met the chef, and had a very nice chat with him. Too bad that we were just traveling through the town. We would definitely be regulars if we lived nearby.

Yelp
The cutest French cafe ever! It's such a quaint outside dining area that has about 5-6 small tables. Because it's cold outside, they have 2 propane heaters to keep you toasty. Once you order, find your seat & just enjoy the space. The French cafe music playing really hits different when you're sipping on your hot coffee/tea & eating your delicate pastries that really spoils your sweet tooth! Asides from pastries, they have more savory items such as ratatouille over pasta, sandwiches, & more! Because it was breakfast time, we stuck with the Nutella crepe & the raspberry French toast. Nutella crepe - generous amount of Nutella drizzled into a warm crepe blanket finished off with 2 peaks of whipped cream and powdered sugar Raspberry French toast - custardy... warm... toasted on the outside for that texture & beautiful blend of sweet & tart raspberry + cream on top. Lavender latte - I ordered the 16 Oz, which was perfect to finish the our two items. It didn't have an overpowering lavender perfume taste. It was just the perfect accent to my coffee As small as this cafe was, the wait wasn't long with 3 parties ordering at the same time. &, my golly, they remembered what each party ordered without us having numbers. I would love to visit this cafe again. It was cute, romantic, cozy, & overall delicious

Yelp
I was only in town for a day but had dinner and breakfast at The French Spot. I have to admit I was surprised at the quality of food that we got at this shack on the side of the road. I'm not a potatoes gratin fan but decided to try it here and it was the best I've ever had. The sweet and the savory items were all delicious but the creme brûlée was my favorite. In the era of COVID I greatly appreciate good packaging of food for take away. The French Spot packaged our food neatly and easily so we could transport and eat it with ease. The only area of improvement I could see for The French Spot would be making it easier to calculate additions. My friend wanted bacon added to his breakfast sandwich and it seemed like there was a complication in adding ingredients. Other than that everything was great.

Scott P.

Yelp
Everything.... The staff doesn't greet you when you enter the restaurant.. You have to figure how to order.. Each order comes out separately.. And takes forever... Not Recommended....Go somewhere else....

Yelp
Ambiance 5/5 Food: 4/5 Amazing little place. One of the best Almond croissants I ever had. Crunchy on the outside and soft in the middle with perfect balance of flavors. Almonds are also present from the outside. Macaroons which I bought was cotton candy. I didn't like it and it was very cold and hard. Difficult eat as soon as I bought it. Looks amazing though ‍. Hot chocolate is just perfect for my liking thick tasty and all the wonderful things in one small glass. Overall I would recommend this place and try their croissants and hot chocolate as soon as you can.

Yelp
This gets 2 stars only because the food is actually good. But I would give it no stars for service and wait. The staff are generally unfriendly, have zero sense of urgency, and are not customer-service oriented whatsoever. They are not interested in answering questions about the menu or helping you with your order. They need some customer service training for sure. They do not have an orderly system in place for serving people efficiently and knowing whose order is who's - it seemed like the kitchen just made orders as they wanted, without any rhyme or reason. People got their food so out of order and waited long times for it. I waited almost an hour for a to-go order, which I waited in line for first - which took about 20min to just place the order. From other reviews, it looks like long wait times are standard here. The croissants are good. The desserts/pastries are good. We got sandwiches, which were also good. The patio is super small and I wouldn't say it's great ambiance. The inside is super small and no a/c, so it's uncomfortably hot and no one sits in there when it's hot. It's also a little overpriced. If they could fix their service aspect and wait times, I could deal with the pricing for good food, but unfortunately they aren't there.
google avatar

Michaela L.

Yelp
If I could leave 0 stars I would. Had the worst customer service experience ever. The woman at the counter did not even greet us or provide a menu upon ordering. She had no sense of hospitality whatsoever. We ordered a matcha latte that came with no milk... so it was just matcha powder and hot water. Very disappointed. The staff was extremely rude and I do not recommend this place if you're looking for good customer service.

Yelp
in town to visit my brother and we came here for breakfast one of the days. Ordered the croissant french toast and it was really good, would order it again. also ordered some macarons and great flavor and texture. would maybe come back but couple of the girls need to work on personality and be more friendly. or maybe its just being french :-)

Yelp
Absolutely amazing food and service. A must try for great sweets and delish coffee. Beautiful setting area. Enjoyed every bit of it

Yelp
Service was very bad. Unfriendly staff. Macarons we tried were good but drinks were not.

Yelp
We almost didn't go here due to construction in their driveway. So glad we did. We had Coffee and pastries. Will definitely be back!
