The Frenchmen Hotel (New Orleans, Louisiana) 3 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Just a few paces from the line separating the French Quarter from the Marigny, where Frenchmen Street meets Esplanade Avenue, is a small hotel that turns the Gallic inspiration up to ten. The Frenchmen Hotel is a set of three cottages, now painted a matching robin’s-egg blue, divided into just 27 rooms which together comprise an impressively intimate and beautifully atmospheric boutique hotel." - Tablet Hotels

We stayed at the Frenchmen Hotel for three days and absolutely loved our experience. The location is perfect—truly within walking distance of just about everything. We only needed to take a bike taxi once, and even that ended up being a fun memory. Our room was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. The staff was kind, friendly, and welcoming, which made the stay feel even better. The property itself is historic, full of character, and gives you a real taste of New Orleans culture. If you want a place that feels authentic and puts you right in the heart of things, the Frenchmen Hotel is a great choice. We would absolutely stay here again!

Perfect spot to stay when visiting New Orleans. It's on the best street for authentic live jazz, just far enough away from the noise to get a good night's sleep but close enough to still hear the music and see the nightlife from the balcony. Short walk to bars, the French Market, and the Riverfront streetcar line providing easy access to anywhere you want to go. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and homey. The courtyard pool is a nice little hideaway to beat the heat in the afternoon. All staff members running the front desk were incredibly friendly, accommodating, and happy to suggest some great spots to check out. Would definitely stay again.

I had an amazing stay at The Frenchmen Hotel in New Orleans! From check-in to check-out, everything was smooth and welcoming. The staff was super friendly and made sure I felt right at home. The vibe of the hotel fits perfectly with the energy of Frenchmen Street—fun, vibrant, and full of life. My room was clean, cozy, and beautifully decorated, with that New Orleans charm that makes the experience feel special. I loved being able to walk right outside and hear live music, grab a bite, or just soak in the atmosphere. The rooftop pool and bar were also a great touch! I’ll definitely be staying here again next time I’m in NOLA.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Frenchman! It was clean, the beds and sheets were VERY comfortable, staff was super friendly and we loved the convenient location as we could walk pretty much anywhere. (It is one of the busiest streets in NOLA so do expect quite a bit of noise at night- half of it will be jazz music :))

I loved this hotel. It's beautiful and definitely had the feeling of privacy in an old world way. My fiance and I loved it. The hot tub was broken (recently so) but I believe they are getting it fixed. It happens and I'm just cursed. I would recommend this place to anyone who enjoys clubs and is "street wise" with no mobility issues. If you want to stay in a historic feel hotel it's reasonably safe from what I can tell. Positives: the pool is small and sweet. Beautiful. It's close to several bars and the French market. I loved the art, about a 3 minute walk down the road. A trolley stop is a similar 2 to 3 minute walk. The room is quiet, had that feeling of New Orleans that you get from movies or pictures. The shower was hot and the curtains blocked the light. They had water and tea/ coffee available. Negatives(they can't control most, you just have to be looking for this and ready): There was no elevator, and although a wheelchair may be able to get into the courtyard and first floor rooms, it is bricks. So it's bumpy and uneven The room is small, if I don't have a bruise on my leg it will be a miracle because the bed leg stuck out and I'm clumsy. There's also a lot of homeless people and it's by the "club" type bars. Not bad, just not jazzy enough. It's also likely you will hear music from 10 pm to 2 am. Friday and Saturday nights. (Didn't hear it on Thursday night) Bring ear plugs or something and you'll be fine.

It was a lovely place, it was clean and exactly what I was looking for the week I was there. Comfortable beds, plenty of towels. The water pressure was great and I could take a scorching shower with no worries about temp fluctuations. I really loved that they had a pool in the courtyard (I was sad that the jacuzzi was tepid not hot, I could have asked about it but I don’t want to be a bother). The staff was amazing! Both the women who worked the front desk were always warm and welcoming and gave us some good places to check out in town. Ooh, there wasn’t a microwave in the room but that was easily solved by asking at the front desk and they just warmed my left overs in the staff microwave ( I’m a foodie so I always have leftovers).

It was our first time to New Orleans and boy was this a great little place! The employees at the front desk were friendly and helpful. The location was awesome, walking distance to many popular places. Great nightlife right down the street also. Rooms were small but who cares. Everything was A+ to me, even the courtyard with the pool was an added bonus on those extremely hot days! We would stay there again in a minute!

Google
A series of weird experiences which included mysterious bloody spots and ended with witnessing an entity sitting on the edge of the bed, I spent my 10 year anniversary at this lovely spot. Such an easy walk to music and entertainment. Everyone was lovely and I would stay here again, but I'm hoping that the next time the hot tub works.

Yelp
Big on charm, short on maintenance, repairs, practical design choices (hello horizontal surfaces?!?), and follow-through. Our bathroom door was broken when we arrived, rendering it un-closeable. We mentioned it every time we went through the lobby, every person seemed shocked at the situation and promised to have it fixed immediately, and then nothing ever happened. We visit NOLA regularly, but we won't be back to The Frenchmen.
