The location was perfect, near the french market, the Jazz Museum, and a short easy walk to Bourbon Street. The hotel is next to a fabulous record store on Frenchman St. The neighborhood is a great place to eat and hear some really good live music. The room was very cute and clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful- the best!!! We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely stay here again when we return.

Such a great stay! Erika at the front desk was incredibly helpful and even helped me carry my bags up the stairs. I stayed in the Deluxe Queen Suite — it was beautiful with so much natural light, perfect AC, and I loved the coded door for easy access. Checkout was seamless, and I always felt comfortable coming and going. The location on Frenchmen Street is perfect — right next to a vinyl store, a bookstore down the street, and only a 5-minute walk to the party scene. Would definitely stay again!

We had an awesome stay at The Frenchmen! We had an issue with the sofa bed in our first room, but the staff went above and beyond and moved us to a different room. I LOVED the balcony overlooking Frenchmen St. The people-watching was stellar entertainment. The pool and hot tub were lovely, and the rooftop deck was a great place to drink my morning coffee. The staff is outstanding - shoutout to Erica! I will definitely be staying here for my next trip to NOLA.

I stayed at The Frenchman for 4 nights and I couldn’t have had a more pleasant experience. Checking in was easy and the hotel itself was beautiful. When I next find myself in Nola I will absolutely be back. It was the perfect escape from the city while still being (in my opinion) the best part of town. Close to the French quarter, close to the action of the Jazz music but still a place you can step away from it all and relax. The staff was friendly and helpful and our room was just what we needed.

We recently stayed at this hotel and had a mixed experience. The Good: The decor is beautiful and the recent renovations make the property feel fresh and modern. The staff was truly the highlight of our stay — kind, attentive, and helpful throughout. We were also allowed to check in about 30 minutes early, which we appreciated after a long day of travel. Prime location for French quarter exploration. The Challenges: Unfortunately, our room was located right next to the pool area, which was quite loud and made it difficult to rest or sleep. Additionally, when glass was found in the pool and it was closed, the only notification we received was through Airbnb messenger. We were not notified via hotel SMS, nor were we informed at the front desk when entering the property that day. If we hadn’t checked the app, we would not have known the pool was closed and a hazard. Additionally, the next morning they started fixing the pool while we were still sleeping! Other guests were also fairly loud late at night, which further impacted our ability to rest. The bar and lounge area were closed for renovations during our stay, which we were looking forward to using. The bathroom was extremely small, and the limited space made it uncomfortable to sit on the toilet. Room maintenance was only provided upon request rather than automatically. The Wi-Fi connection was inconsistent and frequently cut in and out, interrupting streaming on the TV. Lastly, the lock on our room door malfunctioned multiple times, requiring us to repeatedly ask the front desk for assistance to ensure our valuables were secure. Overall, the property has strong potential thanks to its aesthetic and wonderful staff, but there are operational improvements that would significantly enhance the guest experience.

Perfect spot to stay when visiting New Orleans. It's on the best street for authentic live jazz, just far enough away from the noise to get a good night's sleep but close enough to still hear the music and see the nightlife from the balcony. Short walk to bars, the French Market, and the Riverfront streetcar line providing easy access to anywhere you want to go. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and homey. The courtyard pool is a nice little hideaway to beat the heat in the afternoon. All staff members running the front desk were incredibly friendly, accommodating, and happy to suggest some great spots to check out. Would definitely stay again.

The room was, small. The bathroom was smaller than the closet, I'm serious! However, if you can deal with that it's safe and secure. Historic building, definite NOLA vibes. The staff is very welcoming and friendly. The hot tub was excellent after a long day of walking and sore legs. The pool seems nice too, but january wasn't the time to try it lol. The location is excellent for music and nola vibes (not bourbon street frat bros puking). If you need quiet to sleep definitely go somewhere else or bring ear plugs! The location is the best thing though for real. I edited my review after spending 2 nights here, as I changed my mind about the need for a large room and bathroom. 😉

The Frenchmen was prefect for my quick weekend to New Orleans. I loved the space, the employees were so kind and helpful. It was just outside the French Quarter in a really fabulous neighborhood that had a great creative vibe. The bed and sitting area of my room were comfortable, I enjoyed having a coffee on their rooftop, and I even went swimming in the cold (but I am from the Midwest😉). I will definitely be back to this spot. Very nice small hotel that was perfect for me as a lone traveler. Thank you.

Big on charm, short on maintenance, repairs, practical design choices (hello horizontal surfaces?!?), and follow-through. Our bathroom door was broken when we arrived, rendering it un-closeable. We mentioned it every time we went through the lobby, every person seemed shocked at the situation and promised to have it fixed immediately, and then nothing ever happened. We visit NOLA regularly, but we won't be back to The Frenchmen.
