Do not waste your money or your time. They must remove the bad reviews or maybe everyone was drunk. I ordered 2 chicken wing baskets, a catfish basket with zucchini chips and .mac and cheese. The grease was dirty so the chicken and zucchini were black and tasted burnt. The Mac and cheese was inedible. I have never had Mac and cheese that tasted like an old sock. A total waste of money. The catfish was good. My grandkids were with me and told me I should never go back there again especially with them. Out of the mouth of babes 9 and 4.

Delicious gluten free fried food! I had the mac n cheese and 3 rockfish tacos. The textures were perfect and so flavorful. Only con is that there is nowhere warm to sit in the cold months. Or much seating in general... Anyway I will be back again to try more things!

I met up with a couple friends for lunch at Safari. I ordered the Party Wing & Shrimp combo. Our orders took about 15 minutes to get to us. Everyone was happy with our food. The standout was the sauces, which were all made inhouse. If you are a ranch dressing fan, this place has the best. Even though we were all full, we decided to split a banana pudding, which was amazingly delicious. I highly recommend checking this place out.

If I could possibly come up with a complaint…. It could only be that the cook didn’t tell me what level of deliciousness I was in for. I should have known from the smells wafting from the truck. Absolutely delicious, fried just right, and all gluten free yall! I can tell that she works swiftly and in a good rhythm of her own. T money brought my order to my car and I appreciate that effort and her smile. Continue to take great care of your employees bosses!

It’s not the first time I’ve eaten at The Fried Spot. And it won’t be the last time I eat here. I always get the fish and chips. I need to try something else. But the fish and chips are so good. I recommend you get the greens for your side. They really are tasty.

Small pieces for a large price. The pictures the restaurant show full fillets. I got small pieces. Never again will I order from here. They give tons of coleslaw. I expected a full fillet on the catfish. The cod looks like they cut 1 fillet into 4 pieces. Major disappointment.

I was amazed by how good the food was. George was very friendly which was great, but the real standout was the taste. The breading was light, flavorful but didn't overwhelm the fish and shrimp flavors. The home made tartar sauce was fantastic. The Mac and cheese was amazing! You can tell a place is good when they put as much effort into the sides as into the main food. The banana pudding was also fantastic. I was very impressed, it was better than I expected and I will absolutely be going back again.

No thank you, NEVER again. Threw it away. Go to the Stillhouse if you're looking for good fish and chips because this place doesn't honor quality of food.

Owner very nice andj polite. Thank you for some good catfish and service. I give 4.5 only because the catfish was so moist and tender and was perfectly cooked but needed a little salt and pepper for my taste. I will definitely come back again.

Everything there is still top notch delicious! Just writing another review to say the Banana Pudding is out of this world. I'm southern so I know when this dish is made well, and let me tell ya, this one is done RIGHT

We are new to Portland. I ordered the catfish and fries. There was WAY too much salt on the fries. Made the taste of the fish seem salty as well. Collard greens were great.

LOVED the fish (we tried catfish and rockfish) as well as the chicken nuggets and their sauces (seemed homemade). Great gluten free options (which I need) so that was amazing too! Very nice staff there too.

Excellent friendly customer service. I got the rockfish and chicken tenders with fries. I liked the fish and fries the best. The fry seasoning made the fries really tasty. And the fish was tender. The chicken was cooked properly but I was expecting a thicker coating and more crunch.

The cod was tasty , a little to squishy , but , tasty. The chicken sticks were dry and not appealing . The Cole Slaw was interesting , but the Mac and Cheese was terrible. The service was great!

The chicken is not flavorful, not anywhere as good as KFC. The pieces are too large and dry. The mac and cheese is bitter and heavy with cheese, not tasty at all. The cole slaw is actually pretty good and interesting, but definately not sweet at all. It was an attempt at finding some fried chicken for dinner, but we were both very disappointed. Someone else may like this place but not us.

Stopped here for the first time cause I've heard good things about this cart. I got a 4 piece chicken strip with their mango/habanero dipping sauce, with collard greens and a side of their Mac n cheese. Service was friendly and fast, as well as the food being served hot! The chicken was moist and a good portion. The mango/habanero tastes like it may be store bought/bottled brand. It was good, but it seems as though I may have had it elsewhere before. The collard greens were very good and cook to perfection. I'm sure they would have been even better had I remembered to grab some malted vinegar to put on them. But nonetheless very well made greens! The Mac n cheese is where it fell off. Very bland and had a mealy/grainy texture, as though maybe pre shredded cheese was used or too much heat when making the cheese sauce. But disappointed with the Mac n cheese all around. Sometimes we have off days and that's understandable. Would I give them another try? Absolutely. Next time I'll try the fish and report back.

Have tried the chicken and the different fishes. All good but I am leaning to the catfish. Fries and tutor tots were really good. Tarter sauce is good. I would recommend giving them a try.

The mac & cheese is the best especially the other food. I do recommend if you live in the neighborhood

I really enjoy fried fish and love trying new places. I got the shrimp and cod meal and was very happy. The fish was cooked great, very moist and seasoned perfectly.

Delicious gluten free chicken. Super excited to find a place that can do gluten free fried food. I wish they had a spot out in Gresham but it's worth the trip out there. Can't wait to go again

Fantastic food, fantastic service, so many options (even dairy and gluten free) and dipping sauces galore! Our standout favorites are the fried shrimp, lemon aioli sauce, and chicken tenders. Zucchini chips are good as well. This is our second time here in two weeks and we will definitely be back again!

Why did you send us cold pork n beans? Pork n beans aren't even listed on the menu we shown! We were expecting fries, since that's what your meal had pictured. If we needed to specify what side we wanted, we should've been prompted to choose or have been given instructions to do so. How can you charge $25 for 3 paltry bits of halibut and 3oz of cold pork n beans?! You can't blame that on the driver. We were so hoping to have a wonderful first-time experience. Instead, you ruined our first dinner experience with you. Our meal was not unsatisfactory to us, it was down right disappointing. Take some responsibility for this let down. Certainly not going to recommend. Certainly will not be coming back.

I'm so thrilled to have this food truck so close to my house. I especially love the fact that they are open late. The owners are incredibly friendly and accommodating to my food allergy questions. The food is made-to-order and comes out hot and tasting delicious (unlike some fried food spots where the food sits under a heat lamp). My favorites are the fried chicken, mac and cheese, and the peanut butter cookies!! I have only had good experiences with this food truck. I'm already looking forward to my next trip to see them!

Normally when I'm craving fish and chips I find myself lamenting the lack of options as I have been gluten free for more than thirty years and have known that my options in the area are limited. Having said that I discovered this place just around the corner from where I currently live and am thrilled to say it satisfied (or should that be satisfried?) The craving. The fish and shrimp are great and my kids loved the gluten free cookies. We will definitely be making this place a regular part of our dining out rotation. George was super friendly and helpful and I highly recommend you give this little spot a try.

We just discovered this today, it's been here 6 months, 1/4 mile from the house!!! There's not much signage, and easy to miss. Fried food for celiacs is a BIG DEAL! 3 of us are at risk from gluten, just ate there, and no sickness. We had 4 people total, and everyone loved their food. Fried rockfish, fried shrimp, fried party wings, tater tots and zucchini fries. Soooo good! It was heavenly, except the zucchini fries, which got really soggy. Everything else was super good. Probably the best tater tots ever. They make their own tartar sauce and aoli, and they were delicious. All of the food items are labeled GF, except the banana pudding, and They have a few sauces that have gluten, but it's all clearly labeled on the menu. We will definitely be back! I'm guessing he's going to need a bigger place once word gets out.

Ordered the chicken strips with fries and the party wings and cod. Everything about our meal was absolutely amazing. From the spices on the fries to the heat of the mango habanero sauce. The cod was cooked perfectly and the wings were extremely tasteful. The service was friendly and our order came out swiftly. Will definitely be coming back again soon.

I absolutely love the fried shrimp, peanut butter cookies and macaroni and cheese here. Simply delicious. This cute food truck is a must try.

I ordered the fish and chips and fried zucchini, the fish was fair, the fries were from a bag, crinkle cut if you like those, the zucchini was not at all good, this is a food truck in a parking lot. Very poor value, small portions and expensive. The server was not at all friendly.

I want to start by saying that people running the place are very nice and seem to genuinely care about trying to make good food. If you are Celiac or need to avoid gluten, this is a place you can do that. It's not advertised that way, but it's a nice fact. I had the fish and chips. I thought it would be like Portland Fish House, to be fair. I was looking for a good place other than Portland Fish House. The style of this reminds me of my dad's cooking. He had lived in the South and there was Cajun/Creole influence. As a kid, I loved a lot of that cooking. Today, I don't as much. It is harder for me to digest due to the way it's fried. I actually hope I'll see an answer to this part, but there was a pink color left behind where the fish had been sitting. That worried me. It affected my meal. Due to the grease and that, I got sick. I wonder if it's a type of oil like soybean? I don't know. I hope this place improves, because if they served fish and chips like I'm used to, I would come back. They are that nice!

Sooooo gooood! Don't let the address trick you into going to the strip club. It's the food cart in the parking lot. The fried zucchini slices was delicious. The cod was delicious. The lady working there was super nice. It's by no means conveniently located for me, but I will for sure be back. It's that good!

The Mac & cheese is delicious! Chicken tenders are very juicy and full of flavor, definitely not lacking seasoning. The ranch must be homemade, so good!

This is a Gem... I saw the fish and chips flag and as a lifelong lover a fish and chips, it drew me like a magnet. I ordered the three piece snapper and order of shrimp. Both were cooked to perfection fresh and seasoned. I will be back for more...

Excellent food and such great service. My sons new favorite spot... The fried chicken is so good and their Mac and cheese is the best Mac I've ever had. And please try those peanut butter cookies, you won't regret it! They are super soft and fresh and huge! Glad we live locally!

I had the fish and chips then went back and had the wings then went back and had the banana pudding and Oreo cake !!! Look this place is just down right amazing and it's what we needed in this area great food great people! They'll keep your coming back for more. New, fresh, amaaaaaazing!

I have ordered twice. 1st order the fish was perfectly fried. Wings not so much. 2nd order fish was overcooked and dry. I ordered a 3 piece and got 2 1/2 pieces. Will not order again due to lack of consistency.

For anyone wanting fish and chips this is going to b my go to place. Food was made fresh and tasted really good and not greasy at all.

This is gotta be the best fried fish and shrimp I've had so far in Oregon. I come from down south and this felt like good home cooked fried seafood from Texas. Definitely will be coming back!

I picked up two orders, both cod, one with fries and one with tots. First off- the guy working was not at all friendly. Maybe 6 words were spoken- he was obviously not happy to be there. Lots of potatoes, well cooked. Mostly small pieces of fish, not nearly enough for the 18-19 dollars each order. The small pieces of fish were dry, a few pieces which were larger were OK. The worst part- everything was covered with massive quantities of some kind of Italian-like seasoning, with some cayenne or similar. WAY over-seasoned- it was impossible to taste anything else. The worst fish experience I've had- and I've had a lot. Fish is delicate; it really doesn't need any seasoning; why would you do that??? It was pretty easy to order on the website, but at the end, you may or may not notice they add a $.99 "service fee" on to the order, in addition to the tip options. For what? Skip this place- any chain restaurant that has fish and chips would be better. For that matter, I would have preferred frozen from the store. You can buy a lot of Ore Ida and Gordon's for $42.00

Just discovered this place last week and have been there two times already. Nice hidden gem on McLoughlin. Chicken tenders and the cod cooked just right. A lot better than most of the food in this area. Owner is very nice and friendly. Everyone give this business a try and I guarantee you will be wanting to come back for more. Bonus -almost everything on the menu is gluten free. Keep up the good work!

5/5 stars for this place, always such good food. Being gluten free and dairy free I've missed good chicken tenders so much - and this is my fix!! Fried food but not greasy or heavy. Can't recommend it enough. You won't regret it, Try the lemon 'jay'oli! It's great.

I knew this place was legit when I noticed they poked holes in the to go boxes to make sure my fried fish stayed as crispy as possible. Everything was seasoned so well and tasted great. Will definitely make it back here.

A picture is worth a thousand words so wanted to post this before I devoured the evidence! This is the cod and fries with Jay-oli dipping sauce. (That sauce is so good!) Perfectly cooked fish and fries, seasoned to bring out flavors. Really hits the spot for me! The owner is super nice, too. You can tell he puts his heart into his cooking.

With the Fried chicken to their incredible bread pudding. Leaving you wanting more. I literally can't get enough. Thank you from the bottom of my stomach, I can't wait to eat here again!!! P.S. don't forget to order the peanut butter cookies! They will blow your mind!

Best Fish&Chips I've had in a long time. Not the usual usual thick greasy batter. Lightly seasoned thin breading and wonderful moist fish! If they treat their chicken with as much care as the fish this will be a weekly dinner spot for me.

so yummy!! and they have gluten free options!! the owner is amazing and super sweet. we will be back! :)
