New England Restaurants Offering Government Shutdown Meal Deals | Eater Boston

"I found that at all Friendly Toast locations federal and government workers and a guest can get free entrees through the end of the shutdown (proof of employment or valid ID required); the complimentary meal includes two entrees from the current menu or weekly specials and a soft drink, and is valid at breakfast, lunch, and dinner (appetizers and alcohol excluded)." - Rachel Leah Blumenthal

What a great concept, breakfast with a twist. From the cinnamon buns with bacon to the breakfast egg rolls. The food was delicious and the drinks were excellent. The boozy ice coffee flight was incredible. The atmosphere was interesting to say the least. Very colorful and plenty of cool memorabilia to see. There are over 10 locations. Can't wait to try the lunch and to visit other locations. Me and my family highly recommend this great establishment. Great job to the staff also...... excellent service.

Nice place with great decor and better food. The coffee flights are highly encouraged. Surprisingly their bulgogi rice bowl was very flavorful. We also had their pancakes and breakfast tacos. Everything we tried was delicious.

Delicious food. Very expensive menu. If you want breakfast, lunch, brunch or anything in between. This is a great place to go. It is however very busy at times so make sure that you are okay with waiting a little bit. Overall. I really do enjoy this restaurant and have been many times. Thank you for the great service and I love the decor of the restaurant!

Interesting brunch spot with plenty of drink and food options. Went on a Saturday morning and got seated immediately, though it was pretty busy. Pickle bloody Mary was delicious to start. All the dishes we ordered were tasted amazing and we appreciated the quick service. Would visit again.

The special date based food experiments are a fresh idea. I tried the bear omelette based on a TV show. Jill got a pumpkin breakfast. It is a little noisy in the space, but that is because so many good things are happening here!

I have food allergies and they accommodated beautifully without cross contamination. I have egg and dairy allergies so breakfast is very difficult for me when traveling. We found this restaurant and decided to give it a try. I’m so glad we did. I had the breakfast special with vegan pancakes, tofu scramble, breakfast potato’s and bacon. Delicious! I highly recommend.

The Friendly Toast is a fun, quirky spot with a vibrant atmosphere and an eclectic menu that never disappoints. The breakfast burrito was perfect — a delicious blend of veggies and meat, packed with flavor and just the right amount of spice. For something sweet, the toast with strawberry and Nutella is a must-try, especially for cinnamon lovers — it has a very strong flavor of cinnamon that perfectly complements the sweetness. Portions are generous, and the retro decor adds a playful touch to the dining experience. Whether you’re stopping by for brunch or a casual bite, the service is friendly and fast, and there’s something for everyone on the menu. Heads up. There is always long queue, the usually wait time is about an hour on weekends.

Unexpectedly good! The mimosa flight was excellent and perfect to split. The Acai one was my favorite by far. The hashbrown thing was great, it's a hashbrown bowl filled with scrambled eggs, cheese, etc. Super unique and cool.
