A ‘Friends’ Themed Pop-Up Bar Will Open in Dallas - Eater Dallas

"The Friends Experience is a new pop-up bar inspired by the iconic 90s sitcom Friends, set to debut on November 4 at the Shops at Willow Bend in Plano. This pop-up, which originated in Atlanta, has been popular among Friends fans for its Instagram-friendly recreations of the show's most memorable sets and scenes, such as Monica and Rachel’s kitchen, Ugly Naked Guy, and Central Perk. The pop-up features 12 different set recreations for patrons to pose and recreate iconic scenes from the show. At previous locations like Boston and Atlanta, the menu included themed treats such as The One Where They All Turn 30 Sprinkled Birthday Donut, Monica’s “Good Time” Chocolate Cake, and Ross’s Blueberry Bribe Muffin. The event will run through January 17, with timed tickets starting at around $33." - Amy McCarthy

I really loved the idea behind the entire experience. I enjoyed seeing all of the props and things up close. I especially loved getting to go with my best friend. 2 stars for that. The issue I had is requiring the mask be up during pictures. These memories will forever be tainted by this pandemic. We were 6 feet away during those pictures and the workers wouldn't budge at all on even pulling the mask down for a moment to snap a picture. I had friends that went only a week or 2 before me and every single picture they had was maskless and looked great! It was pretty upsetting to spend all of that money to go and have only half of our faces for the memory. This was a once in a lifetime opportunity as I doubt they will be back in the DFW area and they ruined it by not being flexible. I respect the rules of wearing a mask throughout the experience, but taking my mask down for a few seconds for a picture is not too much to ask for. As much as I loved being able to go, I regret not going sooner as they clearly were allowing real memories to be made only a few weeks before. I think if given the choice again, I would have skipped it altogether.

Great experience for fans of Friends. We went a Saturday afternoon and it wasn’t too busy. You are put into groups of about 10 to go in. This allows for each group to be able to take their time through each section and take pictures. There are employees at the photo ops available to take your pictures. I found this very useful when taking pictures that included everyone in the group. There is sanitizer and wipes to clean off your phone. The most congested area would be Central Perk. At the end you exit through the gift shop where they have great Friends merch.

Beautifully created set. There is a section for each of the main characters of Friends. Central Perk, Monica's apartment, Rachel's hairstyles, a machine with trivia questions, the pivot scene - all have been accurately depicted. At the exit, Friends merchandise are available for sale, although everything is very expensive.

A mask policy was added AFTER I purchased my $50 per person tickets. I thought surely you would be allowed to remove/pull down your mask for photos since that is the whole point of the exhibit, photo opts. Right? WRONG! We had no issues at the first few photo stops but the further into the exhibit we went the employees became rude and refused to take photos if our mask was down. A security guard with Soma Services decided it was okay to YELL at me in front of everyone and threaten to physically remove my children and I if we pulled our masks down for photos. My children were so embarrassed! This was supposed to be part of their Christmas gift. His behavior was very unprofessional. The manager stated I was not the first who had made a complaint but refused to give me his or the security guards info so I could make a proper complaint to the corporate office about the security guards behavior. Really wanted to give the exhibit a better rating because it really was interesting friends memorabilia.

This place is all about clicking pictures and recreating your favorite character's moments. If photos are being clicked with mask, then it's like a waste of experience. Luckily, when we visited, there was no force of masks. So we enjoyed it to fullest. So many fun facts and doodles are made on the wall. Sets of 'Joey wearing all clothes of Chandler', 'Ross shouting pivot while moving sofa' were exactly like we saw on sitcoms. Every bit of this set up feels like you're literally on the show. If you're a great fan, surely this place is worth visiting.
