The 21 Best Restaurants In The North Fork - Long Island - The Infatuation

"The Frisky Oyster is an elegant spot on quiet Front Street. This isn’t the best place to show up for a big birthday without a reservation, but it’s a great option for a date or a small group—think three or four friends. There’s plenty here beyond just an excellent raw bar, like cauliflower quinoa cakes and duck, and even some local wine. On summer nights, try to snag a banquet seat up front where the open window positions you close enough to have a conversation with all the people walking by, most of whom will be carrying Italian ice from Ralph’s next door." - sal vaglica

Five-Star Review for The Frisky Oyster A true culinary gem! The creative American dishes with a kick of spicy flavor are absolutely incredible, and you can truly taste the fresh, local ingredients. The atmosphere is lively and chic, and the service is always top-notch. A definite must-visit in Greenport!

I went to this place many years ago and thought it was one of the best if not the best restaurant in all of Greenport. As I return again for the upteenth time this sentiment remains very true. Tucked away near the docks in the heart of town lies this wonderful place. The stylishly printed walls of this dimly lit restaurant mark for a chic and intimate experience. The food is inspired and has some real signature highlights. The oysters friskafella are absolutely to die for. As an avid fan of oysters rockerfeller this fun twist doesn’t reinvent the wheel, but improves it. Our entrees were perfect and my scallops seemingly vanished. This is one of my favorite places to eat in all of Long Island. Can’t wait to go again.

It is essential to make a reservation! It is a good idea to get there a bit early and grab a drink at the bar. Drinks are great and be prepared to pay $24 for a cocktail 🍹 but you won't be disappointed. Chit chat with bar buddies. Great environment. Bartenders and waitresses are all very accommodating. As so many restaurants are no longer bringing bread to the table, this establishment brings warm bread with salted butter. Delicious 😋. It was tough to make a choice for my entree as everything sounded delicious! I chose the shrimp with ramen 🍜. I was really satisfied with my choice. The shrimp were cooked perfectly. The broth and veggies complimented the entire dish. We also ordered the sea scallops. Done perfectly! We ended with two desserts. A pecan pie which was absolutely amazing and a chocolate hazelnut cake. All the desserts are made on premises. They have a pastry chef. We were not rushed. They are one of the restaurants in Greenport that are open late. I am looking forward to going here again !

This place was recommended by friends who go to greenport often. We had to push our reservation from 8:00 till 9:00 unfortunately because of traffic from the city. We arrived on time. The service on the floor staff was very gracious and pleasant. The bartender yelling across the room to the hostess at about 9:25 asking if the 9:00 reservation had arrived was unnecessary. These are conversations that you have quietly when you're in the hospitality business. We enjoyed the oysters Friskafella and the truffle fries Rest of the food was okay. It was hard to find the lobster in the lobster quesadilla and the salsa had browned out avocado in it. The chicken Milanese was overly browned in an unsightly manner but the meat was not dry. It did have a nice watermelon feta salad underneath it. The tomato gratin was moltenly hot and mostly bread crumbs. The frisee salad was very unpleasant looking. It was overdressed with a brownish dressing that made it look very unappetizing. Plus, the pancetta chunks were like pork rocks. They were hard from being overcooked.

Google
I’m giving the restaurant a 2-star rating because although the food was good, the server disappeared and never came back - ruining the experience. We’d give it one star, but because the food was delicious, I had to bump it up a star. After getting our drinks, the server never came back to our table and we never saw her in the dining room again. After getting our entrees and finishing eating, the man bussing our table asked if we wanted to see a dessert menu. Once we got that, we sat for 30 minutes without anybody coming to check if we wanted anything. Another server saw us looking around and she brought our check. After waiting another 10 minutes & visibly looking around, that other server finally came back to close out our bill. Horrible experience. For the price we paid, that is not the service we expected. As for the food & drinks… we recommend the Shineapple Express & Pink Panther if you like sweeter drinks. The grilled Caesar salad was OK, but not our favorite. The Lobster Gigli pasta was delicious and so was the Pomegranate BBQ Short Ribs (sweet/fruity BBQ flavor).

Google
I'm not sure why there have been so many recent negative results for The Frisky Oyster. I actually think that Frisky was better than another more highly rated restaurant in town. The atmosphere is moody and not sterile. The service is attentive and also friendly. Our food was very delicious and inventive. Clearly a nice restaurant and definitely recommend this for a special occasion or just a great dinner.

Google
Half of our party, entered de frisky oyster and ordered drinks. Before receiving those drinks, the rest of our party joined and we’re standing near them. Shortly after the bartender, barely looking at us stated I’m not serving you. Your party is too large and then pretty much walked away. Evidently they have a policy where you cannot stand near the bar. It’s my very strong opinion that they need to have someone greet you at the door and tell you that there’s not enough seats for you and therefore you cannot stay or they need to tell you or handle the situation much differently. when I say that the bartender was extremely rude, it is an understatement

Google
The hubs and I came here one night for the first time and we loved it. Everything in town was closed and they were the only ones open later than other spots. The atmosphere can be a bit intimidating but once you get past that idea, its super comfy. Service was fast and staff was friendly. Aside from coming here because they were the only ones open, we came for oysters and drinks. Sadly, they only had two options on the menu for oysters. I was hoping they would have more options with oysters given that their name is Frisky Oyster. The drinks were amazing and the prices were pretty high BUT look at the location. Would we come here again? Maybe but not any time soon.

Yelp
I enjoyed an amazing dinner. The sourdough bread to start is exceptional--warm, crusty, and impossible to stop eating. The Oysters Friskafella are a must-order and absolutely packed with flavor. I loved the lobster gigli--it was rich, comforting, and beautifully done. Drinks were creative and delicious. The service was friendly and warm, and I absolutely loved the ambiance and stylish decor. A fantastic dining experience from start to finish!

Yelp
Food is good and consistent but what irks me the most is the drink/wine/beer menu - prices are ridiculous (wayyyyy overpriced). These are prices I'd expect to pay at the Ritz Carlton on the Moon. Outrageous. Don't mind paying a little extra for good food but there better be gold nuggets in my $28 smoked old fashioned!

Yelp
Came here with a large group for a friends birthday. The restaurant is cute and cozy and the hostess was very nice when we walked in. For appetizers we shared oysters (yum), crab cakes (good but small). For dinner I had the scallops and risotto which I enjoyed. My friends had the lobster pasta which they also liked. Service was good, prices high, but that's just the area, and dessert we had some Dubai chocolate dessert which I was not a fan of. Overall a good meal and would come again if we were in the area!

Yelp
Came here for date night with my husband and it was the perfect spot. Dark, moody, intimate; great for dates or dinner with a small group of friends. The server was super kind and attentive. The bread that came to the table to start was crispy and warm. My husband enjoyed his oysters. I ordered the lobster pasta which was delicious and ended with the pecan pie which was totally dreamy served with salted caramel ice cream. Thank you!

Yelp
Came here for dinner last night. Was with a group on 8 people. Service was good and the waiter was very attentive. I split wine with a couple of friends and had an espresso martini which was good but close to 25$. You don't even spend that much in NYC. Crazy to me. Anyways dinner was just OK. I had the lobster with pasta and the lobster was tough. The sauce was very good though. My husband had the short rib which he also liked but a bit tough as well. I wouldn't go back.

Yelp
Excellent service, ambiance, and deliciously prepared food. My breast of duck was perfection. My wife's short rib was delicious. The service was professional and friendly. Top notch, 5 star restaurant to celebrate any special occasion,, Yet I leave with just one fairly huge BUT. Does a restaurant, that I really enjoyed, HAVE to charge 20 dollars for a simple glass of wine? Do they have to charge 15 dollars for a small piece of cake? I feel it's greed. COVID is over, Let's get some normalcy back. I don't mind the higher end entree prices, the food is delicious. Yet I don't like feeling like I was robbed either. Otherwise a highly enjoyable and delicious dinner.

Yelp
The food was delicious, smaller portions as you would expect from a fine dining experience. Our only gripe would be the service was below par--soup was brought without a spoon, we had to ask the hostess twice to find the server, and the hostess took our desert order when she couldn't find our server. When we were ready to leave, I had to go to the bar to ask our server to please deliver the check. We kept in mind that we got there late (8ish) and this is off season for the area but our experience would have easily been 5 stars with a little more effort by the front of house.

Yelp
We enjoyed the Widow's Hole Oysters on the Shell, Pomegranate BBQ Short Ribs and Pan Roasted Duck Breast.

Yelp
It has been a long time since I have been to Greenport. I was surprised to notice the upgrade in the area. Especially with the addition of the new upscale restaurants. The Frisky Oyster resembles a Hamptons-style place that provides sophisticated food with South Fork prices. The main dining room is set back from the outdoor bar area that comfortably sits by the seasonally busy Front Street. The indoor dining area is decorated with white wallpaper, royal blue, navy, and black paint along with white chairs, tablecloths, and globe light fixtures. Our entrees were delicious which included a creative Chicken Milanese, and seared tuna fillet. As appetizers we had the Oysters on half shell along with soft shell crab. The ambiance is marvelous, I highly recommend this restaurant, the food was wonderful, and the service was excellent.

Yelp
Another amazing dinner 5/5 stars for sure. The vibe and ambiance is always amazing. the food is always fresh and delicious. Staff is amazing and drinks are soo good. This is my weekly go to restaurant. Thank you for everything Frisky Oyster!

Yelp
The good: Service was fast, food is so delicious. Corn soup, tuna tartar, short ribs, and lobster pasta were all excellent. The bad: The sides for the short ribs lacked flavor, didn't really add much IMO. Seating is tight and its very dark inside. We skipped drinks because they are expensive.

Yelp
Food is always absolutely incredible. The people are so friendly, and the service although there was a packed restaurant and only a few staff on is always impeccable. Such an amazing and impressive place. A must stop if you're in the area. Perfect for a date night, the ambiance is cozy. Will be back and soon

Yelp
What a disappointing meal. I truly believe the service you receive can make or break a meal. We had a 7PM reservation on Father's Day we were promptly seated. Took a bit for our waitress to come over, does not introduce herself but asks what we would like to drink. Order drinks, received said drinks place our dinner order.... And wait awhile... food arrives by bus boy/runner. Never see our waitress again til we are almost done only to ask if we want dessert. I sat with an empty wine glass my entire meal. Only to be watching the waiter next to us chatting it up and being super friendly to the table next to us. What a world of difference a table over because of the service. My chicken was fine. Nothing special, the lobster pasta very salty.

Yelp
Went here for my birthday dinner and it was completely packed. We were seated right away for our reservation thankfully and ordered drinks. We got two of the cocktails off the menu and they were literally the most expensive list of drinks I've ever seen at a restaurant, more than anything I've seen in Manhattan. Each of our drinks were between $22-25 which to me for a glorified gin and tonic and spicy margarita is ridiculous. They were nothing special and honestly I wish I had that $50 back and had just stuck with water. The oysters friskafella were very tasty but if you put breadcrumbs and garlic on anything they'd be good. Oysters on the half shell were delicious and fresh. I also loved the bread basket and salted butter they bring to the table, so good I couldn't stop eating it. We ordered the lobster pasta and the sea scallops, both were sort of mediocre and the lobster pasta lacked flavor in my opinion. For such a hefty price tag and such amazing reviews I had high expectations that weren't met. My biggest complaint was how HOT the restaurant was, it literally made me feel sick after eating a heavy meal I had to go stand outside. It was probably 80 degrees inside which took away a lot of the enjoyment. Meal was decent but too expensive. I'd try somewhere else next time.

Yelp
Friendly, attentive service. Great ambiance, food was delicious. Easy to book online. This is becoming an annual visit and no question worth a visit for great eats in Greenport.

Yelp
Went here for the first time tonight. Was excited to try it. However, the bartender Shannon was so rude. Didn't acknowledge us when we sat down and then just asked us what we wanted. Didn't check in with us and then gave us the check without seeing if we wanted more drinks, which we did. He was also rude to the couple next to us and they left immediately. We got a couple of apps which were good. But can't believe how badly the bartender treated us. We won't be back as there are many other places in Greenport that treat you well.

Yelp
Wonderful! We got back super late to LI from a trip to Acadia Natl Park (Bar Harbor, ME) so we were STARVING! We saw they were still open till 10pm so came in to try to grab some last minute eats. I got the halibut, and my husband got the short rib. Both super tasty and great flavors. My one recommendation to the chef for the halibut with all the Thai flavors would be to add some chili flakes, it needed just a slight kick to it to help with the smooth/sweet coconut broth. The staff was very friendly and wonderfully accommodating to us late comers.

Yelp
Recently drove out to the north fork & dined here for dinner as one of the locals recommended the frisky oyster for the best oysters in the area & the oysters did not disappoint. Especially the oyster Friskafella aka chargrilled oysters! Definitely New Orleans style. The regular oysters as well were great. We also ordered the lamb chops which were good & the drinks were amazing. One of the best jalapeño margaritas I've ever had! The restaurant itself is definitely one of the nicer restaurants in the area as far as fine dining. I definitely recommend if you're in the area.
google avatar

Christine D.

Yelp
First time visiting this restaurant & it was amazing! We were a large group of 16 & the staff was very accommodating last minute! Service was quick even with a large last minute group! The food was absolutely delicious. The entire group raves about all of the dishes. The star of the show is the oysters! A MUST try! The halibut, lobster pasta, the duck burgers were also huge hits. A must try!

Yelp
We wanted a place to get a little bite and a beer, and tried the WhiskeyWind across the street, but it turned out just a couple decibels more than we needed for background and went to the Frisky Oyster just to see if we could get a table for 7 and a little snack. We ended up spending two hours in a window table that they'd kindly put together for us (on a Friday night no less) and getting a couple rounds and dinner. The local oysters were small and savory and delicious, and the seared sea scallops with asparagus risotto and a Parmesan crisp was so good I'll be thinking about excuses to come back and order it again. The house cocktails were a hit and they happily stock Athletic IPA for the non drinkers. We loved it and the service was also really good. Come here, it's worth whatever you spend (which will definitely be more than the chicken fingers at the bar across the street).
google avatar

Yelp
We have only been to the Frisky Oyster once but enjoyed our time. It's smaller than expected, certainly gets crowded and one of the nicer restaurants in Greenport. It almost felt like a club later on with blasting music. We ordered the following to share: Appetizers - Soft shell crab 3/5 - Caprese salad 4/5 Entrees - lobster gigli pasta 5/5 -grilled fish special 3/5 My only regret would be not getting the grilled oysters which seemed pretty pricey but appears to be one of the star dishes aside from the lobster pasta.

Yelp
Dined indoors on a Saturday night after booking a few days prior. We were nicely greeted and quickly shown to a snug corner booth. Immediately loved the Frisky Oyster's dim lighting, funky chandeliers and casual urban vibe. Staff was professional, pleasant and helpful despite a fully booked room. The crowd ranged from young hipsters to groups of frisky seniors, some seemed to be regulars dining happily at the attractive curved bar. My WARD cucumber/gin based cocktail was refreshing and packed a nice boozy punch. Hubbie said his Colorado Stout (on tap) was very rich and flavorful. Shared the country salad, crunchy greens studded with juicy pork lardons and tangy dressing. Plenty for two, delish and a great way to start off the evening. The sea scallops with risotto were large, fresh and perfectly cooked. I was considering the lobster pasta for my entree but after hearing it was cream based (not my thing) I went for the short ribs with pomegranate sauce, melt-in-your-mouth tender and utterly scrumptious. Our lovely server (sorry forgot her name) gave me great advice on that one! We were full so didn't get dessert but the list certainly looked tempting. While the Frisky Oyster isn't cheap, their menu offers items at a wide variety of price points and the vibe was welcoming and friendly. Our best dining experience in Greenport.

Yelp
TLDR Pros Several options for vegetarians and vegans! Hooray! Let's celebrate the veggies growing out here Menu is thoughtful Food and quality are excellent Service is outstanding - shout out to the bussers who don't miss a beat Cute decor Open later than many restaurants in greenport Cons Dark Can get loud Crowded - tables very close together Pricey Honestly most of the food in north fork has left us underwhelmed and the service has been poor But not at the frisky oyster. Both are outstanding So listen it's kinda a weird vibe Like unhappy looking young kids working at the door and bar - we almost didn't stay because the male and female hosts stared at us blankly and didn't talk to us or respond when we talked. No facial expressions. No recognition they heard us. I thought for a second maybe they don't speak English? So weird. Once you're seated the staff is awesome It's kinda like a club vibe but it's a weird mix of very old people from like 5-7/8 pm then families and people on dates plus bros at the bar The food is so good Honestly I was most impressed w the vegan vegetarian options The corn soup w truffle foam doesn't sound like much but it's incredible- we took 2 home The bread is made for them by blue duck like a sourdough mix and it's served w butter and Himalayan salt - so good The roasted tomato gratin was a side and we were so glad we ordered it. It was delicious but sorry we didn't ask for more bread to eat w it The soft shell tempura crab salad was good but not great - nice salad but so much tempura the crab gets lost The quinoa cakes were delicious and such a nice vegan surprise - I'd order this again and I'm not vegan The food comes out piping hot The dessert had 2 Vegan options - the tres leches was ok but the vegan coconut choc chip ice cream was amazing! Even the roasted marshmallow was Vegan Can be pricey but worth it imo Can also can quite loud And it's dark - lots of people w flashlights on over the menu Tables are very tight

Yelp
5 stars because of the food! If you come here, you must get the Oysters Friskafella and some raw little rams (from shelter island). Tara from Claudio's recommended the Friskafella when we mentioned we were on a greenport oyster tour so this was our next stop. The food is 10/10! I can see a lot of people liking the restaurant design but the finishings weren't my favorite. However, I won't deduct any stars because it doesn't matter to me- we came there for the oysters. We sat at the bar and ordered our food with aperol spritz. There was only 1 bartender on, I believe his name was Shannon. I think he was overwhelmed because he didn't want anything to do with talking to us. Can't knock him for that, he was busy.. he could have been a little more friendly though. Regardless, come here and eat. You won't be disappointed!

Yelp
I have been here several times for drinks and appetizers. More recently today where the drinks have been even better than usual. On the pricier side but definitely worth it. Also had the tuna spring rolls and they had a large chunk if seared tuna inside, I was actually surprised by the portion. I enjoy sitting in the front by the window. Staff has always been attentive and friendly

Yelp
Stopped in on a Tuesday evening around 5pm -- we wanted to eat outside but they only had a few tables, so we sat indoors at the window seat. Both of our cocktails were delicious - my husband ordered the Beaver Fever (basically a spicy jalapeño margarita) and I had the Pomelo (I asked to swap the reposado for blanco tequila). Both were great! We started with oysters - they had a coconut granita on top which was different than I've ever had with oysters, and I really loved the flavor it gave them. For entrees, I ordered the halibut. It was seasoned like a delicious Indian curry and had a beautiful yogurt raita and a green tomato underneath. My husband ordered the duck -- he had requested it medium but it was a little more well done than we were expecting, but it was still tasty. Beautifully decorated - modern and classy. Great menu.

Yelp
Had a wonderful time yesterday at The Frisky Oyster while taking a trip out east, found the spot on the main drag and they had an open table outside, no reservation needed! The hostess/server was very sweet and helpful, told us about some cool places in town, told us what she liked on the menu, was very personable and friendly with us. We ordered some Oysters, Lobster Quesadillas, The Montauk Tuna, and Chicken Milanese. All were very delicious, beautifully prepared, and served by another great server. Had a Nitro Stout with it too that was a perfect combo. Spot is on the expensive side, but worth it for the service and quality of food. Highly recommend if you are in Greenport!

Yelp
Stopped in for a drink and got exactly what I was looking for. The Blush cocktail was delicious. Quiet place with a cute bar and even cuter wallpaper. Bartender was really friendly. Definitely on the pricy side.

Yelp
Made a reservation a couple weeks in advance and arrived for reservation on time. Our table had been given away and they claimed we didn't reserve dining room though we absolutely did. (Reservation confirmation pictured) They don't honor reservations! This was for a birthday dinner.

Yelp
Food is amazing, I go back time and time again just to get the lobster gigli pasta, one of our favorite restaurants. Love the atmosphere, great spot for a date night, and staff are friendly and attentive as well.

Yelp
Nice spot. It is pricey here -- Food is made well. It was a rainy day and there were still a good amount of people dining in. Here's what we ordered: - grilled lobster quesadillas - w pepper jack, goat cheese, grilled corn, and avocado salsa - duck confit spring rolls - w/ goat cheese, scallions and soy ginger - braised beef short rib - w/ country view farm corn pudding, whiskey jus - frenched chicken breast - sweet potato, churizo, breeze hill cider, goat cheese - cappuccino, and 2 other cocktails. All good, but definitely pricey - lavender creme brulee I wouldn't come here often, but glad I got to try out something from each section of the menu to be able to rate it. The food is made very well, the ambiance is dark and not loud. It was nice on a windy/rainy day.

Michala F.

Yelp
Frisky Oyster is a cute spot in town with nice crafty cocktails however I was not so impressed with the food. Our meals were served within minutes of ordering and that is always a red flag for me. Additionally they require a credit card when making a reservation which is fine for some types of restaurants but I don't think warranted here.
google avatar

Brendan S.

Yelp
Went here with my fiancé and a couple of friends. I had the wagyu strip steak. It was the first time I had wagyu and it was delicious. A perfect medium rare steak. I ordered truffle fries on the side and they did not disappoint either. It is a very intimate setting and is good date spot for important celebrations. The only negative I have is the limited beer selection.

Debra C.

Yelp
Definitely a must if you visit Greenport! My husband always gets raw oysters n we both love the oysters Rockefeller. I usually go with the fish , which is always excellent. I got salmon this time with shaved Brussel sprouts which were delicious. My husband got the tuna. The drinks are great n the place has a really nice feel to it. Excellent service n on the main strip. I'd recommend making a reservation, it can get busy

Yelp
I guess it took us too long to try Frisky Oyster. For years , we had heard how inventive and fresh the food was, as well as its polished service. The Friday night we dined there for the first time, it was under-staffed (one waitress was serving the entire restaurant, with a couple of bus people hurriedly and inappropriately taking plates and slapping dishes down on our table), very loud (an animated group celebrating a birthday in the bar area made the place sound like a tavern with a dart board ) and the food was underwhelming to say the least. The seared scallops were undercooked and cold -- It took so long to get our waitress's attention (unsuccessful) that I just ate them and hoped for the best. The beef short ribs were not very flavorful, and also not very warm. Cocktails are on the menu for $25 and up (no thank you). The dessert we had, which our waitress raved about (a coconut cake) tasted like cardboard. Before we could even tell her how unhappy we were with our dessert, the waitress slapped our bill on our table as she passed by, without even asking if we were finished and ready for our bill. Maybe it was an off night? My wife always likes to give restaurants the benefit of the doubt with how tight the labor force is in the service industry. But... frankly... if restaurants know they are understaffed and may not be able to deliver the high caliber of food and service that customers are expecting and which their prices project (promise?) to deliver, then like "congestion pricing" restaurants should make some sort of concession on those days when they know they're not going to be able to deliver their very best. I think they owe it to the customer.

Yelp
I can see why this place is a recommended place as a first date spot @northforker magazine. My husband and I are on our honeymoon and considered this place for its food and intimate setting. We loved the food , watermelon margarita , steak and dessert . I must emphasize that the we are not an oyster fans but the oyster Friskafella are to die for ; Loved them! We also met wonderful couple that invited us to taste the Sparkling Point Carnaval Rosé. We loved it so much that we went and bought one the next day. Thank you for a wonderful meal. We will definitely be back .

Yelp
Absolutely to die for. One of the best restaurants I have ever been to. The food was amazingly constructed, tasty, well balanced, expertly executed. I can't recommend it enough

Yelp
Had a reservation & decided to go in early for drinks. Went in to sit at the bar & the bartender was absolutely awful- Bartender had an attitude from the minute we walked in. Would never recommend or go back which is unfortunate since so many people told us to try it out. Maybe tell your staff to go be kinder to people who walk into a bar ....

Yelp
They don't honor reservations Tonight was my 45th birthday, and my wife had made a reservation over two weeks ago for seating in the dining room. We arrived on time only to wait fifteen minutes for the two couples standing in line at the host stand to be seated before we were approached Upon information them of our reservation, they informed us told us they "had us down for lounge seating" in their Resy reservation system. My guess is that in 2022 they'd be able to see through Resy what my wife sees when she looks in her account. Clearly a dining room reservation. Now, restaurants have busy times and can't control everything. We get that. We've eaten at restaurants before. But as we waited in line we witnessed the hostess take a walk-in party of two and seat them in the dining room as well as another couple who had "changed their minds" and didn't want to sit in the lounge that evening. Only then to be told that we had somehow lied about our reservation? Don't make a reservation here without showing up 45 minutes ahead of time. Because obviously showing up on time for a reservation doesn't mean a thing here.

Yelp
My husband and I have been coming here for at least 8 years or more. Last night we came in for our sixth anniversary dinner. As always they had excellent drinks and food. We almost tried the tomahawk steak, but didn't know if we could finish it. (For $200 we wouldn't want to take leftovers.) To start we had raw oysters and the calamari. I have to say that their calamari was the beat I have ever had , loved the shoshito peppers with it. We had a fall chicken dish with apples and the seared scallops. To end we had the pecan pie. Delicious! Excellent service too!

Yelp
" Get Frisky" Lol So we decided to come here for dinner on a Saturday. Make reservations or else you take your chances at the bar if you are a small party. This place was packed!!! Very cute and trendy restaurant located in Greenport. Loved the decor - the light fixtures , the music, the lighting , wallpaper, If you're looking for a cocktail in Greenport - this is a place to grab one. I had the " night shade" - it was good- burned a little going down but then again we hit like 3 wineries and a happy hr before we got here so maybe that's why it burned lol. Or maybe it was too strong . Nonetheless it was pretty and looked slightly purple :) I loved how the front of the restaurant is open- no windows - nice breeze . Food-- fantastic I had the Peconic Golds Oyster Friskafellla as appetizer and it was super yummy. Friends had the duck confit spring rolls and the grilled lobster quesadilla and they liked their dishes. For entree- I had the Seared Sea Scallops with asparagus risotto and Parmesan tuile. Excellent . Perfect size. Perfectly cooked . Another friend had the Hawaiian Tuna - she wished she had it medium rare - she asked for it medium well I think. Dessert -we all shared the strawberry shortcake and the warm tres Leche cake. I enjoyed the tres Leche cake. The strawberry shortcake was ok - but then again - I not a shortcake fan . Would definitely come back here next time I'm in Greenport. Ps- Check menu because they say they change it or update it daily.

Yelp
Back for the second time and again another 5 star dinner. This place is quickly becoming one of my favorite restaurants of all time. The lobster quesadillas are an absolute treasure. So so good. The lobster gigli pasta was one of my favorite dishes I've ever had. It is perfection in every sense of the word. Please order it, you won't be sorry. My wife has the scallops and again amazing. Can't wait to return once again!!

Yelp
The Frisky Oyster The paucity of restaurants open for dinner in Greenport, off season, can test your patience. That said, we enjoyed a yummy dinner at The Frisky Oyster on a Saturday night in January. The restaurant was jammed, and reservations (yes, YES, even in January) are a must. The fun, lively ambiance was welcoming. For appetizers we opted for oysters friskafella ( their version of oysters Rockefeller), crispy calamari salad, and duck spring rolls, ALL of which were so very good! The oysters were the standout, cooked to the appropriate doneness well seasoned and garlicky. We then opted for the lobster pasta, the duck breast and the tuna, all of which were, again, very good. The tuna was the entree standout, cooked perfectly, simply seasoned and fresh. Delicious. The cocktails were quite well made and they graciously served 1/2 espresso martinis when we opted to share one for dessert. The accommodating service, lively atmosphere and very good food makes the Frisky Oyster a great place for dinner!

Yelp
This place was pretty awesome. The restaurant has light club music playing with a nice romantic atmosphere in the dining room. The menu is New American with some dishes having Asian notes. The food was great, the service was amazing and the meal was wonderful overall. This place is a popular place but it is a place you would probably be surprised how much you spent on dinner. Is it expensive? Of course. Is it worth a visit? 100%. The food: Peconic Golds Oysters Friskafella- with garlic-scented spinach, chipotle, parmigiano aioli. The oysters friskafella was simply amazing! They were so freakin good that I had to order a second order before the entrees came out. It's a take on an oyster Rockefeller but the oysters were magic, the parm aioli was absolutely heaven. This is a must order, correction, you should order at least two orders. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=bZSGGdn23T-B1p1lrlXceA&userid=Y_iTTjKvV5hLy-880SZzlA Crescent Farms Duck Breast- with creamy polenta, baby argula, bing cherry-port reduction. I enjoyed the duck, the duck was cooked nicely, but what I really appreciated was how the duck didn't have that fatty/greasy feeling when you sometimes have duck. The creamy polenta paired well with the duck, it added a nice savoriness to the duck. The one thing, I did like the cherry-port reduction but I found it to be a bit too sweet and I felt they put too much of it on the plate. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=_KEocDV-rTPucqCTC-MHqg&userid=Y_iTTjKvV5hLy-880SZzlA Seared Peconic Bay Scallop- with coconut sticky rice, green curry broth, bok choy, cashews. The scallops were cooked perfectly, the bay scallops were small but they packed so much flavor. The coconut sticky rice was kinda weird for me since the texture of the sticky rice was kinda gloopy and the rice really didn't have much texture. The flavor of the green curry was OK but there was a bit too much coconut milk, I wish there was more of a curry flavor to it. The addition of the cashews was great, I really liked the flavor of the cashew with the scallops and the curry. Overall, an OK dish but the texture of the rice and the flavor of the green curry kinda bugged me. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=9xy_ydosGq_-93_wcLT16g&userid=Y_iTTjKvV5hLy-880SZzlA Warm Virginia Pecan Pie- with salted caramel ice cream. I really enjoyed the salted caramel ice cream and I loved the whole, large pieces of the pecans. The flavor was great but most importantly, it was not too sweet like how it most often times is. The only issue, I thought the crust was just OK, the crust was not as flavorful as I would have hoped and the texture could have been a little flakier but the filling was so perfect. As a whole, I really enjoyed the contrast of sweet and salty from the pecan pie filling to the salted caramel ice cream. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=pbVq0X76qfR1oO4zlssPeg&userid=Y_iTTjKvV5hLy-880SZzlA

Yelp
Came here to celebrate my engagement and everything was great! It's a very romantic vibe and was fitting for our celebration. The waiter and bar tender were very friendly and helpful in their recommendations. Food was delicious as were the drinks! I recommend checking this place out if you're ever in Greenport.

Yelp
The food service and ambiance were all excellent. Our only visit was in the dead of winter so availability was not an issue. Everything we ordered beet salad, scallops and haddock were delicious and beautifully presented. Our server was was timely, efficient and helpful. The decor is lovely. Could have done without the music. Although not loud, it was repetitive and unnecessary. Maybe more suited for the summer crowd. The meal was expensive although worth the price
