The Fritz

Our first visit back to the Fritz since it reopened with the new menu! We lucked out and got a table right before the wait list started. Ordered the warmed olives, whipped feta with grilled pita, salad with ahi tuna, & the chicken& waffles. My favorite bites were the whipped feta & chicken/waffles! Delicious. I spied a tart on the table next to me I want to try next. Beautiful dishes, great & speedy service. Will be back!

They don’t know how to make a pisco sour or they forgot something when they made mine, because it wasn’t good. I know the drink well since I first discovered it traveling in South America, where it’s from, have had it many times, and have also made them at home. Theirs wasn’t sweet at all and lacked flavor… it’s a relatively simple drink so surprising to have it made incorrectly. Sad because it’s tough to find on a menu in the states, so I was excited and then very disappointed. 😄 The service was ok, but the staff seemed tense, possibly because the person taking orders at the bar was new and needed help with everything, but I think more likely due to management as is typically the case in that situation. (Would be better to at least train them for a few hours on taking orders.) A guy who I believe must be the owner was also behind the bar, and he seemed pompous, speaking condescendingly to the staff and other customers alike. The person who took my order asked me a few times if I was doing ok, but no one asked how my food or drink was. When my salad came, they brought a steak knife (?) but no silverware, so I had to wait until someone noticed, and they’re not very attentive. They were much more concerned about cleaning glassware than tending to customers. The Fritz salad is pretty small considering the cost, like the size of a side salad, which is a bit silly since lettuce is inexpensive. Some of the lettuce was also bad, which is unacceptable at a place with “nice restaurant” kind of prices. The ahi tuna I added was also somewhat shredded, leading me to think it was either low quality or improperly prepared. They also only have one salad dressing. Not a place I feel the need to go back to.

This was a great place to eat! All of the food was amazing. The kitchen staff, the bartender, the owner, and waiter were all phenomenal. Best smash burger I’ve had outside of Oklahoma. Hushpuppies, truffle fries, and Mac n cheese were all awesome as well. Love the atmosphere as well. Highly recommend this establishment!!

5 stars all around. Incredibly attentive and friendly staff. Ordered the smash burger which was delicious and perfectly cooked. Cocktails were unique and quality for the price point. Will absolutely return!

The food is AMAZING! So happy to have the Fritz back open again and the new menu is exceptional! The onion tart, Calabrian chicken, and the OKC burger are so good - just to name a few! As always, thanks for the great service and atmosphere! Will be back very soon <3

I had the Calabrian Chicken and the yuzu tart. Absolutely delicious!! The chicken was “fall off the bone” tender. I’m not a dessert person, but I finished that tart super quickly. Also tried my boyfriends blueberry lavender bread pudding. He almost inhaled it. Great choice for a nice evening.

Glad to have The Fritz open again after the brief break. Just a few observations on the food. The miso eggplant was below room temperature. The mushroom gravy and celery root was not as hearty as in the past, not warm enough, and a bit thin. The salmon was very well prepared and the masago foam was a nice presentation, yet the portion size for $20 was a bit underwhelming. The onion tart is a nice addition to the menu for the time of year. Cocktails were on point and service was attentive.

How do I explain how wonderful the Fritz is? We had the pork belly and the ahi which were out of this world. We come here every time we are in town and can't say enough good things and the staff. It is an experience!!
