Google
The peaches are incredible. Nice selection of local produce, jams and hot sauces. The staff could not have been nicer. We ate at their shady picnic tables. This will be a regular stop.

Google
Love this spot! Great selection including some non typical choices of fresh produce. Also my taste buds were bathed and satisfied with a delicious, soda fountain style milkshake made with real ice cream and farm fresh local fruit providing the flavor. Not to be out done, the creamery / bakery boasts beautiful blue ribbon worthy, freshly baked pies! And the people working are so polite and engaging, as well as knowledgeable and personable. If you find yourself in their area it'll be worth the step.

Google
We go to the Fruit Bowl when we visit my nephew in Lodi We live in Tuolumne County and I buy fruits and vegetables there but I always buy my 1/2 gallon of Bruno's vinegar there. I can pay less for that vinegar there then at Bruno's. The little restaurant there is a very good place to have a lunch. Worth the trip.

Google

Google
We were passing through and noticed this market on the way. We were pleasantly surprised at how organized everything was. All the fruits smelled incredibly good. We tried a lot of things from this store. We liked the pastries, the bread was delicious. We bought soap there, it was incredible. The service was good, everyone was friendly. We want to come back when we are traveling again

Yelp
just stopped by- PEACH season, so many varieties of peaches grown , not easily found, if at all , elsewhere. freshly picked. Grown in orchard on site. If you like to make peach desserts, be sure to check the blemished discounted shelf, great discount for slightly flawed fruits. Fabulous plum varieties, grown in their orchards. Also , local tomatoes, local grass fed meats, Alaskan salmon and much more. Newly remodeled lunch deli area and bakery.'PIES to take home. The best sourdough flax bread! Lots of gift items , too.Don't miss Italian imports annd local Olive oils . Great place to stop with a friend, unique , definitely enjoy this much more than a chain place. Great, friendly service.

Yelp
My 100th Review!! Very happy to have my 100th review be of the Fruit Bowl. I've been coming here for years. The Fruit Bowl is full of history and tradition has been in business for over 70 years, since 1945! The Luchetti family has gotta be doing something right. Specific things they do right are fresh fruit/vegetables, baked goods, preserves, and friendly/quick service. The fruit stand is nestled on the outside of their fruit orchards and HW 88. Lots of fresh local preserves and items that are pickled. Cherries, plums, peaches, watermelon, apples-you name it there's a good chance they grow it. The bake shop is right next to the fruit stand, and is in an enclosed separate room. The glass display case is full of delectable, same day baked items such as lemon bars, various cookies, fresh fruit turnovers/pies, Sue (carrot cake) Muffins, scones, coffee cake, and quiche. They make sandwiches, pizza topping on focaccia bread, gelato, and ciabatta bread. Simply all wonderful. The sell pies by the slice and whole. They usually have fresh baked pies cooling off and I automatically think of The Andy Griffith Show and Aunt Bea cooling off her fresh baked pies. Wholesome delights abound!! Call ahead to preorder whole pies. Love the Italian music playing, the picnic tables, the morning cyclists ‍ taking a pit stop, the location and the whole vibe. If you like eating great food from where your from like I do, you gotta visit the Fruit Bowl. It's a must bookmark and visit.

Yelp
The food in the back food counter area is delicious. The baked good are always fresh, some just coming out of the oven if you're lucky enough to time it right. The ladies working behind the counter are almost always friendly and attentive. Sometimes they get so involved in their conversations with each other they forget to say hello or stop what they're doing to help you, but the goods make up for their lack of hospitality. They have a wide variety of food--not just fruit as the name indicates. They have meats, canned and jarred condiments and specialty foods. They have brittles and cookies, and pastas and sauces. And they make amazing sandwiches. And don't forget to pick up some of there wonderful fresh focaccia bread or rolls. Always so good!!!

Yelp
The Fruit Bowl is a family-run fruit stand, bakery and deli located on Hwy 88, east of Stockton, CA. The fruit selection varies as the seasons move beginning late spring and moving thru late fall. They are closed during winter season. The bakery bakes their pies, cookies, and pastries onsite, come early, they might sell out of your favorites. I enjoy their marionberry, peach and apple pies. My wife loves their snickerdoodle cookies. The chocolate chip walnut cookies are my favorite. The deli sandwiches are delicious although their meat selection only includes turkey, salami, ham and tuna. New to the menu is a grilled hot dog on a garlic bun. They've always had gellato, but now ice cream and milk shakes are also available. A good selection of soft drinks and wine are available to go with your lunch. Seating is available inside or outside with umbrellas. All major credit cards are accepted. Typical deli setting inside. Service is fast and curteous, and many of the staff are known by their first name by the locals. During the early growing season, they are open 7 days a week, I believe 8am to 3/4 pm, as the seasons grow colder and tourism drops, they drop a couple days (M-Tues?), until the close for the winter. We come here often, mostly to buy fruit and pies/cookies. Occassionally, stop for lunch. Highly recommend checking this place out!

Yelp
The fruit bowl has friendly staff that you look forward to seeing again. The fruit is so fresh and delicious. We didn't want to buy a whole pie, but they had a slice for $5 that was perfect for us and very tasty. Looking forward to our next visit.

Yelp
Stopped in on our way back from Lake Tahoe. The fruit stand was wonderful, I was on the hunt for cherries, no cherries but we did find their bakery!!! The best in my opinion, the best peanut butter cookies I have ever had, delicious! My dog wasn't eating with the long road trip he sometimes doesn't but when he was offered a piece of broken peanut butter cookie suddenly his appetite was back. We took a dozen home and now I have to see if I can have more Fedx to us. Best ever!

Yelp
Fall season is just around the corner, right? *sees that the upcoming weekly forecast is still hovering dry-heat 90s*......RIGHT?!?! Before leaving Stockton and heading back to Elk Grove I wanted to make a pit stop here. Cute little highway-side shop. Has a pretty good variety of produce that's locally grown. At the time of this review (mid-Sept.), fall season produce is beginning to appear here. The staff are super polite and friendly. I especially love the lady at the bakery counter; such a joy to talk to when asking about bakery item recommendations. The plum bar is a little overly sweet for me but the molasses cookie, a seasonal special, has an amazing slight chew to it and is bold in flavor (there's a notable ginger taste to it FYI). Definitely recommend stopping by here even if it's a little out of the way!

Yelp
It's been years since my last visit, but we were in the area and realized we'd be passing by while they were open. We were able to find a parking spot easily and even though they were about fifteen minutes to close, they welcomed us is and allowed us to browse the selection of produce and items they had available. I ended up buying fresh corn, peaches, plums, nectarines, green beans and figs. I easily could have spent an hour here deciding which items to get and loading up on locally made goods (I definitely recommend coming well before close if you can). My friends ran into the bakery/gelato area and bought a few items as well. I only spent about $30 on everything I purchased which would have easily been double at the grocery store for subpar produce. Everything I bought has been delicious, has so much flavor and it's already making me want to visit again soon. You can check out their website to order from the bakeshop store or some of their shelf stable goods from the online store and they have a newsletter you can sign up for for even more updates. They have such a great variety of items, I always end up leaving with new things to try.

Yelp
Great selection of fresh fruit but I think I will pass on the preserves, jams and jellies. They put more sugar in them than you find in most large retail brands. I saw one listing it with 25% sugar. At that point, you cannot taste the fruit at all. So sweet it made my teeth hurt. Had to toss it after we got home and tried it. A good preserve only needs 5% sugar at most to bring out flavor.

K C.

Yelp
#1 ACCESSIBLE! Flat paved parking straight through to the entrance for people with wheelchairs/walkers/strollers. For reference I used a rollator walker no trouble inside, smooth flat surface, adequate space between aisles too. #2 Helpful friendly employees. I wondered out loud "what's in fruit bowl pie" and a nice older gentleman described it for me. Of course I picked up the last of the slices. It was excellent and I will likely purchase a whole pie for some occasion. Real fruit taste and chunks not fake "goo" like so many places. Nice neutral flavor crust with some sugar but not overly sweet. #3 Great variety and price of products. Were there cheaper cherries down the road? Yes but I picked a basket up for convenience sake and a whole bunch of other stuff. A pack of local ground beef was 8.50 which I thought was fair, and a pack of 2 flatiron steaks with a big $4 bundle Swiss chard and some things at home fed 3 adults a pretty nice grilled steak dinner under $5 each. We spent nearly $100 but bought meat that made dinner for 3 2x, lunch for 3 with desserts, and some fruit. The "bake shop" in the back is also a hidden gem! You might think it's a drink fridge but we bought 6 tamales (love that they offered them frozen as I'm on a diet where I freeze cooked meat products) and some cannolis to try, key lime and lemon. The cannoli were good but the shell texture did suffer a little as they were in the fridge. The key lime didn't have as much fresh zing as I'd expect but still super tasty. Tamales were excellent, mild chicken and green pepper flavorful without being hot spicy, went well with sour cream and salsa at home.

Yelp
The staff are super lively and friendly, they have wonderful selection of fruits and array of foods including pasta! I went there this summer in July so it's pretty hot... so I'm very grateful they were selling watermelons absolutely delicious . Please visits here more often!! There's local honey of different varieties or flavors that you can try out! I apologize for not taking any pictures I was I. A hurry and hangry the potato gnocchi is my favorite 10/10 will be coming here more often.

Yelp
Everything about this place is wonderful! Go and visit just to see the variety of items to buy. The fruits and vegetables are fresh and great tasting. They even have some specialty items like fresh cranberry beans. They also have a great selection of Italian specialty foods, jams, soup and risotto mixes, and vinegar and oils. And then there is the restaurant! Gelato, fresh made bread and pies. My oh my. Sandwiches. Everything is fresh and tasty. The service is friendly , helpful and happy to be there. Sometimes when I'm looking for something to do, I'll drive there just to have a look see and always end up leaving with something. This is a great place. You've gotta stop in. The store is outdoors but the bakery/ restaurant is enclosed and air conditioned- friendly, warm and very clean.

Yelp
Family farm fruit and delicious baked goodies from the bakery. Always a great ride over to the fruit bowl for fresh cherries, peaches, apricots and a stop in the bakery for turnovers & muffins.

Yelp
My family stopped by The Fruit Bowl to have lunch. The vegetables and the bread were both fresh, great sandwiches. The quiche perfect, very yummy! We picked up some fruit and a frozen pie for later that evening. It was a great place to have a relaxing lunch, hang out, and do a little shopping.

Yelp
Local produce that tastes so fresh!! Amazing pies. Unique sourdough flax bread - a must. Cafe plus outdoor seating sandwiches, coffees , gelato and more. Fabulous selection of jams, syrup, local and Italian imported goods. Friendly employees. Well maintained. A delightful place.

Yelp
Best produce "stand" in Northern California! The Fruit Bowl is similar to a small outdoor market that features so many local produce, baked goods, jams, crafts, and more! Open from Spring to Fall, The Fruit Bowl features what is available fresh during those months -- in May there were many veggies, and stock was low on shelf goods, but there was still quite a variety. My favorite part of The Fruit Bowl is not only the wide variety of delicious producers, but the bakery. Yes, The Fruit Bowl has its own bakery where you can buy pies (baked or frozen), sandwiches, breads, and even grab a coffee. The ladies who work in the bakery are so friendly and will help you with anything you need. The prices are spot on for what is for sale. The quality is great in everything I've tried: fruit, veggies, pies, peach butter, nuts, plants. The small farm feel is quaint and adorable. This outdoor market is the perfect place to be to find local goods.

Yelp
The 200th... Located on East Waterloo Road before it turns into Hwy 88...this really is an awesome spot to grab some fresh and local produce and some delicious baked goods! We ventured in on Mother's Day to grab a bite for breakfast and left with the Southwestern quiche, a slice of apple strudel, some fresh cherries and blueberries and dried pineapple. If you're a quiche lover, this may be the best you'll ever have and they give you a really good sized portion. Or, you can also buy them whole. The apple strudel was to die for with a flaky crust, thinly sliced apples and an almond flavored layer that was divine. They also sell pies, cookies, a good selection of preserves, dried fruits and nuts. Although we took our treats to go, there are a few picnic tables set up outside so you can sit and eat your goodies in the fresh air. Enjoy and support local!!!

Yelp
Anytime we're passing through we try and stop at this place. It is more than a fruit stand sorta like an open air market with a bakery in the back with delicious pies, pastries, sandwiches, nuts and candies. Focaccia bread is amazing! They sell whole pies as well as slices! The day we were there they had marionberry, peach, pecan and cherry I tasted the peach and it was delicious. Savory pies were also good I had a slice of zucchini that was amazing. In the front they have fruits and jars of pickled vegetables, they also have a few very nice boutique style gifts like homemade soaps & baskets and much more! A few picnic tables out front. Free parking. Plenty of room in parking lot if you have an RV or boat. Most of the prices are fairly reasonable.
google avatar

Nanci-Nanciele M.

Yelp
Lasagna is delicious but the garlic bread and focaccia buns are to die for!!! Never knew they made meals. The bakery is incredibly delicious! The fruit and vegetables in the store are overpriced however! Helpful tip, go just for the bakery.
google avatar

Yelp
The Fruit Bowl has great produce & pastries. The produce is great for eating & preserving. I especially loved the peaches & nectarines. In addition to their produce, they have all sorts of meat, cheeses, Italian goods, canned & dried goods. I love doing my weekly shopping there. They have a wonderful Deli/bakery. I tried their Marionberry pie that was wonderful. Their panini sandwiches, baked goods, and breads are all a treat!! I even bout their cookbook with historical pictures of the fruit stand that is over 75 years old! I look forward to trying more products from there. Stop by a check it out.

Tim G.

Yelp
Excellent food, fruit pastry love the personation Perfect date day. Fantastic deli, great wines.

Yelp
Cute little farm market with a variety of items: fresh baked goods, flavored olive oils, local jams, soup mixes, local honey, and some fresh fruits and veggies. There isn't a big selection on fruits/veggies and the place is rather small. It's a little pricey in my opinion, but quaint.
google avatar

Kirk A.

Yelp
Great pie! Its a little pricey, but second to none in my opinion. Great fruit stand all around though. Unique finds and a beautiful spot.
google avatar

Maria C.

Yelp
I love coming here for the cherries, the pies, and all it's other baked goods. The bakery and fruit stand employees are very polite. The kids like coming here to pick up their favorite glass bottled root beer and lemonade. They also like their large snickerdoodle cookies and rich brownies.

Patricia T.

Yelp
When you drive up to this place it's so bright and colorful. A 5 star review for that. I can only give a three star today because the prices of their produce was high. It's too bad bc the fruit will rot if people are not willing to pay those prices. When I got home I cut into the tomato and it was dry and not even ripe inside. It had a lot of white spots inside. Had no flavor at all. I think they were picked too soon bc it's not hard to grow juicy, sweet tomatoes. These were not that. I can't help thinking of all the other disappointed people. And the peaches were not sweet. 3.49 a pound. I bought two and my hubby said they were not sweet. Kudos to the young lady in the bakery who made me a nice iced coffee drink. 5 star to her.

Yelp
This is 1 of my favorite places to stop for fresh produce & fruit, they have a bakery that has some wonderful smelling things, ive mainly tried sourdough bread, cookies & pies, always some great gift ideas too, i cant wait to go back again

Yelp
Small business thats been around since forever. They have the best deli and some awesome things you cant find anywhere else !

Yelp
I needed to get a pie for a family Christmas party and the Fruit Bowl came through big time! I've been coming here for years and the pies are still as great as the first time! The walnut pumpkin pie was a total hit and was still warm when I purchased it. Friendly and efficient staff are always great too and prices and quality are top notch. Thanks Fruit Bowl!

Yelp
Wonderful people, excellent produce, I just wish it weren't 24 miles away from me. I love the variety they have.

Amy V.

Yelp
There are just so many things to love about The Fruit Bowl. I love that they started selling fruit from their property in the 40's, that they are in their 3rd generation of being family owned, and that it is a quick trip to the outskirts of town that makes you feel as if you are hours away. We went on a Sunday afternoon, enjoyed sandwiches at picnic tables under the shade (there are some in the sunshine, if you prefer that), and visited their bakery for some yummy treats to take home. Their store is full of fresh produce as well as locally and semi-locally made products to purchase.

Sue P.

Yelp
We have been going there for years, and I should have written this sooner. The fruit is wonderful, always the best cherries, apricots, and peaches. The pies are wonderful, very fruity. My favorite bakery item is the chocolate-dipped macaroon, but the snickerdoodle and oatmeal cookies are also delicious. The folks are so nice, the bathroom is clean, and there's always a good selection of all sorts of Italian foods. If I lived closer, it would be my weekly go-to.
google avatar

Wendy B.

Yelp
Another great stop along Waterloo Rd, just a few miles east of Stockton. This cute place is a bit more classy than it's fruit and veggie stand counterparts on the same road, but still small. And they have the added benefit of a charming, small bakery and sandwich shop. We succumed to getting some pastries, and a slice of apricot pie this time around, and shared a fresh strawberry shake that was outrageously good. The apricot pie filling was wonderful, better than the apricot one from Phillips Ranch (nearby to the north of Stockton), but the crust was only so-so. We preferred the piecrust from Phillips Ranch more. If they could only put the two together, you could win my heart.

Robyn M.

Yelp
This is a family owned business...I'm lucky they are part of my family too! I grew up as a child hanging out with my aunt and uncle and welcomed all the changes as they grew the business. My cousin and his wife have added the bakery and we love the sandwiches, pastries and pies!
google avatar

Hungry G.

Yelp
This produce and pie stand has kept my appetite for veggies ravenous over the years. I feel especially inclined to leave a review and to tell you SUPPORT LOCAL FARMERS!!!! As you can see from the picture they have some of the finest Delta Grown Grass Around!!! Well worth the trip just for that. However they also boast some excellent strawberries local honey pies etc. Etc.
google avatar

Vincent J.

Yelp
It's all about the pie Of course it's the fresh fruit too One pie to eat two to take home to share

natasha m.

Yelp
Can't understand the hype. The produce is super overpriced and not very good. Doesn't even seem local. There are so many great produce stands in the valley that are much better and more reasonably priced. Plus, let's not overlook the open hostility towards customers of color and the gross Trump propaganda.
google avatar

Anna L.

Yelp
My husband and I stopped by on our road trip down to San Diego! We stopped for gelato and were helped by a lovely young lady who was very patient and kind while we made our gelato selection! The employees were all kind and welcoming and made for a very homey pit stop. Thank you to the Fruit Bowl! We will be coming back soon
google avatar

Yelp
We Love this place. We have a house above Jackson and must stop everytime up. Have been stopping for more years than I can remember. Don't Hesitate to Stop. It is worth it! Especially in fruit season.. Yum Yum

Yelp
A nice roadside fruit stand, with indoor and outdoor dining. The fruit is great, about as fresh as you can get, since most of it comes right out of their orchard. Who knew there were so many varieties of peaches?! The rest of their groceries are interesting too. An eclectic mix of local products and stuff from Italy. They are also known for their pies, and rightfully so. Often times, we'll get them for our holiday gatherings. Their gelato is also good. Their savory products are just ok, but certainly not bad for a fruit stand. This is a family run place mainly. The service is attentive, without being cloying or insincere. After all, not many people can spend the day in a non-air-conditioned roadside stand in 90-105 degree Summer heat and have a stupid smile on their face. If they did, I wouldn't turn my back on them for fear of ending up in the pies Sweeny Todd-style...but I digress. Bottom Line: It's definitely worth a stop. Get some fresh fruit or some pie and you won't be disappointed (although I was bummed I missed apricot season this year...I guess I need to go out there more often or get an Old Farmers Almanac to know what's in season). As far as the prices, the fruit is usually quite reasonable, and I don't begrudge them for being more expensive than big grocery chains or warehouse stores. First, their stuff is better. Second, I'd rather pay a couple extra bucks to the local little guy to help keep him in business...it does the soul good.

Sharon Z.

Yelp
Just came back from the fruit bowl with a friend. Best fruit and vegetables all from the farm. Chicken tamales are out of this world and the pastries are mouth watering. Nothing last long when I get home. It's worth the drive.

Linda K.

Yelp
I really enjoy going to the fruit bowl and yummy pastries and they have great soups as well. Today I had a cup of Roman minestrone soup. it was very flavorful and had lots of good veggies in it. I would order it again.

Yelp
Bought an absolute piece of mind this place is outstanding the prices are low expensive but top-notch quality fruits and vegetables try the gelato ice cream so rich and creamy the people here are so friendly even all the customers they make you feel at home I'm relaxing under a shade tree and a bench perfect place to unwind and relax a high recommendation on stopping in just to unwind from a day out or if you're going to the lake or mountains stop in grab yourself some high-quality fruits the peaches are outstanding great place

Yelp
What a perfect spot to watch the Amgen California bike race with my panini and quiche and sparkling fruit bubbly! Great food and friends celebrating this event out in the cherry orchards
google avatar

Swati R.

Yelp
Cute shop, there are fresh cherries. They were expensive though, we get at less price at local farmers market. They also sell other fruit/veggies, pretty flower bouquets. They have fresh pie slices and cookies. They also sell olive oil, vinegars and Italian condiments, pasta. I bought a pack of Italian cookies, they were sweeter than expected. There are various marmalades. Overall a nice stop.
