Great people, great variety, great quality. The strawberry gauva are the best I have had.

Google
The Fruit Stand is a real find! It's become my go-to spot for fresh produce. The selection is vast and what they have is always top-notch – think juicy oranges, crunchy carrots, and the sweetest strawberries you've ever tasted. The prices are fair, and the staff are friendly and laid-back, happy to chat or offer a recommendation if you need it. If you're looking for quality produce, this place has got you covered!

Google
Found this lil spot cause I needed Costco gas lol. Anyways I’m so happy we found this little jewel. Love the fresh produce and delicious salsas they sell here. Also the wood is such a good deal, a whole Wheelbarrow of good wood (pine & eucalyptus) for $25 ! Say less , I’m all about it. The gentleman even offered to put it my car for me which was super helpful considering I injured my back the other week. Customer service was awesome and my husband and I will definitely be returning customers!

Google
Fruit is what tethers me to this world. Whenever I travel, I make it a point to seek out local produce, farms, or fruit stands to pick up goods for the journey. The Fruit Stand is an absolute gem for anyone who appreciates top-quality produce. The fruit was incredibly fresh, vibrant, and fairly priced. As a self-appointed fruit sommelier, I can confidently say that the attention to quality and seasonality here rivals that of the finest markets. If you appreciate fruit, this is where you need to shop.

Mary D.

Google
Great place to get fresh produce. They will also pick out the best melons for you (esp watermelon) for the sweetest fruit. Excellent selection and customer service.

Google
Been going here since I was a kid. I love the people at the fruit stand. They are so nice always accommodating. They go above and beyond for customers, and they a do it with the smile. They have big hearts, it shows. Besides, they have great produce all the time. They always help me with answers on cooking and help to my car when needed. I will always help support this local business.

Google
Bring your own bags to fill with produce. They have firewood, honey, bee pollen, tortillas, and more.

Google
Great big fruit stand with staying power! They know their fruit... Visit for a very wide variety of locally grown product that will not break the bank. Also available a wide variety of fruit leather, banana chips, peanut butter and coffee beans! Talk to the store keeper I was informed the location has been steady since 1986.. that's 35 years ago! This place is a Jurassic level fruit stand, must visit and 10/10 would recommend to friends and family

Yelp
We stop by The Fruit Stand every week for our fruit and vegetable run, and it has become a beloved part of our routine. They consistently carry some of the best-quality produce currently available from San Diego and the surrounding areas, thoughtfully curated with real care. Misses are rare, and when something isn't right, they always make it right. What really sets this place apart is the knowledgeable team. They can tell you not just what something is, but where it's from, why it's special, and even how best to prepare it if it's new to you. They know which watermelon varietals are sweetest (and why), which tomatoes are best for different uses, and how to guide you toward the best choice of the day. We also appreciate the simplicity of the space. It's clear the focus is on quality produce rather than unnecessary overhead or décor that doesn't add to flavor or nutrition. We come in knowing our weekly staples, and we always look forward to discovering a surprise treat or seasonal treasure to add to the basket. We recently lived in Spain for a year and deeply miss the fruterías found on every corner, places that genuinely support daily health and well-being. In the U.S., truly good produce can be harder to find, with so much emphasis on mass production and appearance over flavor and nutrition. The Fruit Stand comes as close as we've found to that European produce experience. We're grateful this place exists and grateful for the care they put into what they offer. Thank you for being here--and we'll see you next week.

Yelp
San Diego needs more places like this. I always hear about what great produce CA has, but if you live in the urban spots (i.e. not near farms) you're not going to have access to any of it. Likewise, shopping at grocery stores will just leave you with fruit and vegetables that taste like nothing. I know "farmer's markets" are supposed to distribute some of the good stuff all over, but San Diego's farmer's markets are a joke. I've been impressed with the selection, quality, and prices at Fruit Stand. If you ask about seasonality they can tell you what you should and shouldn't be buying for maximum flavor (for example, strawberry season ended in the summer, so what's available now is not great). Likewise if you inquire about a product they don't have, they try to work with their supplier to get that product at a future date. That's a nice switch from the workers in nearby grocery stores who give you a blank stare and shrug.

Yelp
Have you tried the chili oil from this place? It's out of this world!!! I recently discovered the wonderful world of chili oils. I tried the mass-produced gateway chili oil that you can easily find in the grocery stores but the one that you find here is homemade by a local lady. It's tasty, it's spicy, it's fresh! Try it for yourself. It is pricey; a small jar (see picture for comparison) costs $7.50 but it's money well spent!

Yelp
Last 3 times avocados have been bad ...small ones smelled weird threw them out ...medium ones are over done so maybe this isn't the place to get avocados the rest of the stuff there is really fresh.....also to add ...the tortillas smelled and tasted old...guess I'll go back to carnival ...not talking about the fresh ones carnival makes ...the ones in the bag ...better quality control might be needed at Fruit Stand

Yelp
Great place with great prices for produce! Will be back again to stock up on groceries!

Yelp
Really great selection of fresh produce plus snacks, nuts, sauces, dressings as well as firewood. Super nice people. Little gem. Definitely recommend.
google avatar

Kyle V.

Yelp
Easy place to get fresh fruit and veggies! Some prices are amazing and some prices are more expensive than Costco across the street. Don't assume a small place is better prices!

H M.

Yelp
They have a large selection of fresh produce at great prices! Plus, there's parking! The fresh made tortillas are incredible as is the chili oil.
google avatar

Carmine M.

Yelp
Amazing. Lots of local produce. Hand made tortillas. Prices are usually better than the grocery store monopolies. If you live near by, shop here. Amazing

Leslie K.

Yelp
I love this place. After doing so much international travel I figured out how little access we have to truly fresh produce. They were the answer. The owners and all of the staff are so kind and helpful.
google avatar

Gem R.

Yelp
My husband and I LOVE going here to pick up our produce. Everything is so fresh and reasonably priced. This bounty you see in the photo - only $31.00 for everything! That would've so much more at like, Sprouts or Trader Joe's. AND, if you hate TJ's overuse of plastic packaging as much as I do and are looking for a place that just has everything out in the open to pick from, The Fruitstand will not disappoint. Worth going to if you live in mid-city SD and want to get a Costco run in at the same time, since they're close to each other on Morena.
google avatar

Valerie T.

Yelp
Tucked away between some comercial buildings this a hidden gem! I love supporting the local businesses! They had everything from different local Jared sauces, salad dressings, honey, dried fruits and Loya of other amazing finds. If you are looking for fire wood in bulk this is the place to be! I found everything I needed and the prices were great! Nothing like finding a hidden gem without traveling far to get local produce or having to wait for the next farmers market. Looking forward for my next grocery run!
google avatar

Clarize B.

Yelp
Found this place on yelp since I've been looking for a produce stand! Tucked away near Costco on Morena. Super affordable and a great selection! Very natural and they have a selection of artisanal food products as well. The woman at the register was super nice. Definitely recommend.
google avatar

Liz G.

Yelp
I absolutely recommend this business! I got such good fruits and vegetables there on Wednesday. Some of the juiciest peaches I've ever eaten and the creamiest avocados. The people working there were so helpful, and I will definitely be returning.

Marie S.

Yelp
Lots of variety and owners are so welcoming. Prices are great too. Definitely recommend

Brian S.

Yelp
I absolutely love this place. Best produce in SD. I go here all the time and encourage you to go too
google avatar

Yelp
We try to come at least once per week. Depending on timing and seasons, you can get some VERY top tier fruits here! The service is also amazing, and the staff are a delight to interact with. We are fruit enthusiasts and shop at a variety of Asian grocery stores for tasty fruit. Fruit stand is top tier and one of our favorites. They have some harder to find varieties as well and they have some that go above and beyond in flavor and texture. As with all places, it depends on what you buy and learning the ins and outs, seasonal timings, and strengths of each location. But fruit stand is a classic and our most frequented venue!
google avatar

Yelp
Headed to Costco for gas today! Then on my way home, I thought oh no I wanted to go to the Fruit Stand on Morena. Except I was going the wrong way. So, I found an intersection and quickly made a U-turn. The first thing I saw when I pulled in their small parking lot was Huge Cantaloupes. Then I grabbed a little basket and looked around this small place. I got my cantaloupe, (there was no price posted.) Also, got limes and the freshest, most beautiful white corn on the cob. It was a nice little stop and $15.
google avatar

Luigi C.

Yelp
Real nice people and the place felt like a mom and pop market that brings all their produce from home. Bought some delicious looking peaches and some butternut squash. We also snagged a wheelbarrow of fire wood. Check this place out!
google avatar

Melissa B.

Yelp
The fruit stand has a great array of fresh fruit and veggies and is available every day, so is a great alternative to the farmers market when there isn't one in your area! The employees were friendly and everything was priced reasonably. Will definitely be back!
google avatar

Ro N.

Yelp
Found this place on a whim and it's cool as hell, needed some fire wood for my party stopped there and we got a wheel barrels worth for 25 dollars. We stepped inside and they had treats for everyone they had jerky, dried fruit, salsa, chips, nuts and fruits and vegetables. This is a one stop shop for snacks good and bad.

Yelp
The owner Briton is outstanding. He is always working very hard. His customer service skills are top drawer. He is knowledgeable, offers details about his produce. Ask for him to help you. He will even help you carry your purchases to your car. Decent pricing. Best heirloom tomatoes too! Go have a look. Plenty of parking.

Yelp
I drive past this place on my way to work and am always intrigued to see what kind of fruits they sell. My coworker bought some avocados, sundried tomatoes, and other veggies to share with us for lunch and said that everything there is organic. Their avocados are huge and all the things she bought were so fresh! I came here earlier this week to check out the storefront. It's small inside, but have whatever fruits and veggies are in season. We bought a huge mango and some veggies, but initially came for the jalapeno tortillas. There is a lady that brings them in the afternoon every Tuesday and Friday, but apparently didn't come this past Tuesday. They took down my number and called me the next day when they were available. I came over and bought 3 bags. Each bag comes with 6 tortillas, so it is pretty pricey for the amount of tortillas you get. They were still hot, so I ate one when I got back to work. The tortillas taste great by themselves, but I will try them again with some protein over the weekend.
google avatar

Jeanne W.

Yelp
Fruits and vegetables down the street from the Costco in an industrial park setting. It is good to explore what they have as the selection will change with each season and visit. The prices are on par with some organic groceries and farmers' markets. Asian markets generally have better produce prices but you may not find the same great quality. The Fruit Stand has locally grown produce. I found some Fuerte avocados which were the best I have ever tasted. They also have a good selection of bagged bulk dried fruits, nuts, and candy for snacking. The chile mango is what I buy because it isn't too sweet and is amply seasoned with Tajin. Be sure to look at the items on the counter when you check out. There may be some handmade tortillas or fresh herbs that you will need for tonight's dinner.
google avatar

Denise D.

Yelp
I love this place! They always have good fruit & veggies! My favorite thing though, are the handmade jalapeño tortillas they have on Saturdays! I grabbed some when I was in town last week and brought them back to Texas on the plane. They are great with a little cheese, or just toasted with some butter. If you can get there in time to grab a pack, do it!!!
google avatar

Glen M.

Yelp
Friendly staff, lots of variety available in the summer, and good pricing. They have firewoods available including eucalyptus, pine, and some oak with calling in advance. Lots of snacks. Good place to pull of and grab snacks if your on a road trip.

Joan A.

Yelp
My neighbor told me about The Fruit Stand and my husband and I stopped by to check it out. We loaded up on fresh berries, greens, and melons. Everything we bought tasted wonderful! The owner, Briton, only carries the freshest, tastiest produce. We now shop there twice a week. We're never disappointed.
google avatar

Hiral S.

Yelp
A friend mentioned about fruit stand and the next time J was at Costco I decided to stop by. The produce was really good and they also had other stuff like dried beans, honey salsa etc. the prices were comparable to farmers market. The produce stayed good for a week and was delicious. I just found the place a bit disorganized. Would I drive there to get produce on a regular basis - probably not. Only if I am making a Costco run.
google avatar

Gina E.

Yelp
Love this place! Strawberries are always on point, everything is always fresh & gorgeous & I leave with way more than I intend to. Awesome owners and staff & I love knowing I'm supporting both farmers and a local small business. Highly recommend 10/10!

Ingrid G.

Yelp
went in the fruit was fresh, but even I went to it was to many people asking for payment. went to pay and when I got my produce I didn't get all of it. I did not notice till I got home.
google avatar

Nadia S.

Yelp
Some of the BEST produce and fruits I've ever had. The Persian cucumbers crunchy, & fresh. The tangerines not too tart. They have an extensive spread of local organic fruits and vegetables and even some great snacks, candies, nuts, dried fruit, dips, etc!!! We will definitely be back. Great prices too!!!!
google avatar

Jane P.

Yelp
The fruit stand has the best organic produce in all of San Diego. I'm always amazed at what a bargain it is. It's also the cutest shop and aesthetically pleasing. I love that they offer mostly local produce. We have been going weekly for almost a year and always stop before our monthly Costco run. The prices are great and everything is always premium quality and tastes better than anything you would get in store. We have never had an issue with their produce. They also have a lot of dried goods and snacks. The mixes veggies are my favorite. Staff is wonderful too and so nice. We always look forward to coming back.
google avatar

Frank F.

Yelp
Hasn't been open for over a week. This place may be closed for good, unfortunately. I've called the number and it rings without an answer or answering machine.
google avatar

Steve B.

Yelp
Very helpful and generous owner/staff. Pretty good firewood deal. Stocks most everything grocery store has

Jackie V.

Yelp
Stopped by today to see what they had. We are visiting from out of town and wanted fresh produce. This place did not disappoint! Amazing strawberries and mandarin oranges. Plan to go back again!

Fadi N.

Yelp
Visited the fruit stand this week. Was not impressed with the quality of fruits/veggies and the pricing was super expensive.

Yelp
One day I was driving to the Costco (off of Morena Blvd) after work for some produce. I circled around the parking lot twice and couldn't find a parking spot... I thought to myself "Guess it wasn't mean to be." Fortunately, I live right up the hill so I told myself I'll try again tomorrow. On my half mile drive home I discovered this cute little hidden gem called The Fruit Stand!! I swear my wheels skidded as I pulled into their parking lot. They had so many fruits, veggies, nuts, homemade goodies, and more... I am SO glad I didn't get a spot at Costco because this place is so much better for fresh produce! I'm hesitate to boast about my favorite find (because I'm afraid they'll all be gone next time I go) but there's this zip lock baggie of dried & seasoned veggies that is to die for. You can distinctly tell there's green beans, carrots, beets, etc. finely sliced & dried with a simple salty seasoning to make you think you're eating potato chips. I AM HOOKED! So hooked, I'll be back again today for my dried veggie bags before anybody reads this review ;)
google avatar

Melanie A.

Yelp
Delicious affordable fruits and veggies!! I have driven by this place so many times on the way to Costco and finally stopped by. Wonderful prices (lower than any grocery store for most things), large sizes of everything, and everything was wonderful to eat. They take credit cards for $5 minimum charge.

Jesse L.

Yelp
Wonderful selection and kind staff!!! My family will be frequents! Love the feel of this place too!
google avatar

Julia B.

Yelp
Support Local! This place is my favorite, i am a personal French chef, and i love to shop there for my clients and myself. Very good fresh quality fruits and veggies for way cheaper than any store i know. The lady owner (i guess) is very sweet and amazing. Hard working people like this deserve local support! I highly recommended to shop there if you are in a healthy living style.

Chris N.

Yelp
Ask the super friendly staff and follow their instagram to see their latest and greatest!
google avatar

Deidra V.

Yelp
Great selection, all looks homegrown, meaning it has flaws but colors are richer than in supermarket fruit and veg. Super reasonable prices. I got a huge mango, a fat bunch of parsley and 3 pears for $4.50 (remember to bring cash) My favorite part was how welcoming they were to my two bunnies. I live nearby and I was excited to take them for a walk and to pick out snacks for them. Everyone was asking about them. And they are quite happy with the food they got. My one is a bit picky and he even ate a bit on the walk home. I hope to make this a weekly event for us.

Danielle G.

Yelp
We love the Fruit Stand. It's walking distance from our house and we love popping by and picking up fresh produce for the day! Staff is always helpful and friendly. We love their tortillas, salsas, and other yummy offerings! Produce is ripe and ready so buy it and eat it within a day.
google avatar

Sarah L.

Yelp
Heaven on earth. Amazing seasonal fruits and veggies. And the best roasted salsa you ever did have.

Jodi R.

Yelp
I come to The Fruit Stand off Morena Blvd every week to get my favorite pineapples and avocados. The watermelon is so so good too. Try their salsas. In the fridge next to the cash wrap. The fresh jalapeño tortillas are awesome too. My husband loves them. I can't recommend this place enough. Nice people too. I don't bother buying avocados or pineapples or salsa anywhere else. I buy most of my produce at The Fruit Stand.

Karen U.

Yelp
You know the study that shown more choices lead to more anxiety? You won't have that experience here! All the fruits and vegetables are local and in season. So, don't expect, say, grapes, if they're not in season. And don't expect 20 varieties of apples like your local Whole Paycheck. As other commenters have mentioned, the strawberries really are to die for. Lucky if they make it home! Super ripe, aromatic and perfect. You've got dessert covered here with sliced strawberries, cracked black pepper and balsamic glaze marinated and poured over vanilla ice cream. The fresh herbs are always seductive in their perfectly green beauty. No yellowing here. Herbs are the difference between an average cook and an excellent one. Good to see what's in stock first before planning your weekly menus. Happy to have this place so close to home, and I've stopped going to Farmers' Markets with their high prices and too many tempting prepared gourmet foods. I'm always amazed a big bag of produce costs me less than $20. Plenty of easy parking to boot! All right, I'm already getting excited. Time to get out of my quarantine bathrobe for a while and go!

Max M.

Yelp
Awesome. Perfect stop on the way to or from Costco. Get great veggies at great prices... they have fruits to... amazing . I just bought 30 local avocados for 5 dollars. Almost everything is local.
google avatar

Dan M.

Yelp
My fiance and I love the fruit stand. We drive out of our way to come here from downtown and it's worth it. Since we have found this place we've found ourselves eating a lot more veggies because the quality is so high probably because it's all local. The prices are low and we tend to find a lot of bargains that you can't beat elsewhere.

Megan H.

Yelp
Love getting fresh, seasonal produce and other goodies from The Fruit Stand. This is such a local gem with affordable and high quality goods. My favorites are the strawberries, jalapeño tortillas, and different orange varieties. Highly recommend for fresh produce, bulk nuts, salsas, etc. Leave the long lines behind. You'll be in and out in 5-10 minutes.
