"If the suitcase you bring to LBI is filled with nothing but board shorts, bleach-stained tank tops, and three pairs of sunglasses, then that makes two of us. But just know that you’re going to feel a bit underdressed at The Gables. From the long, dripping candles on the white-tablecloth tables, to the chandeliers and old paintings, to the piano player in the entrance hall, this 19th-century inn in Beach Haven is the most formal restaurant on the island. The space is beautiful, including an outdoor terrace that feels like it belongs in Charleston, and the menu—which rotates, and but typically includes things like fresh cavatelli with kale pesto and eggplant polpette—is excellent. Both of those details make it a good place to celebrate a special occasion." - alison kessler, regan stephens, matt tervooren, tonya russell

I’ve walked passed this restaurant so many times over the years and have always been drawn in simply by the landscaping and setting it resides in. We finally went and it was a top ten dinner experience of our lives. The ambience of their outdoor room which is nestled and surrounded by flowers and plants is the perfect setting for an outdoor beach side restaurant. You have privacy but still have the feeling of outdoor dining. It was quaint, cozy, elegant and relaxing. The food was beyond phenomenal as was the staff. Hats off to you and I’ll definitely be back. I live 2.5 hours from beach haven and I’d be willing to go there for the day just to eat there again.

We met up with friends for dinner and stayed the night. The Gables is so warm and inviting with such a welcoming upon approaching the property with beautiful landscape. We immediately felt welcomed. The hosts and staff deliver the highest level of hospitality. Dinner was delicious. Food quality and presentations are top notch. The room we stayed in was beautifully designed, very detailed. Great amenities and so comfortable. We can’t wait to return. A must see at the Jersey Shore!!!

Google
Our weekend get away included dinner at The Gables. Exceptional experience! Food and service was of the highest quality. We're more drawn to Cape May, but for a quick get away this was convenient. Now we found a great place to revisit.

We got married on Long Beach Island in September and had our rehearsal dinner at The Gables - Sarah and the team were incredibly helpful from the start, helping us to make a reservation for a large party and working with us through every question and detail. We had dinner in the garden and it was nothing short of magical - the food, as always, was exceptional, service was excellent, and the setting so gorgeous. Highly recommend!

Google
Had dinner there nov 30, looked forward to it,but was very disappointed ☹️ small portions and a price fixed menu of $120 pp appy, entree and dessert. I had An average salad, a miniature lobster tail and one fatty short rib, called surf and turf, a small pastry dessert.service was good but ended up costing $320. I will never go back, it’s a ripoff 🥴🥴 ps: bread was excellent

Google
Having been to many fine dining establishments, this one misses the mark on a 5 star rating. Although the restaurant itself is beautiful, the food leaves more to be desired. Service is okay, but for a fine dining experience you would expect glasses of wine/water to be refilled, crumbs cleaned off the table etc. the table next to us mentioned that dessert was the best part, and we agreed. However, dessert should be the cherry on top of everything else being equally delicious. It looks like two years ago it was $98 a person.. it seems that they just keep hiking the price but not changing other elements that are required of those spending $400+ on a dinner for two. Glad that we went, but probably won’t be returning.

I've heard the Gables is a cozy romantic dinner spot in the heart of Beach Haven.  It was packed in the summer as expected so we waited till the offseason (Oct) and made a reservation. You are immediately  drawn in simply by the landscaping and the overall setting it resides in.  It was to chilly to sit at the outside patio but it was nessled with flowers all around and above with patio lights which makes it an outdoor experiece.   The porch where we ate  was romantically  quaint, cozy, elegant and relaxing. The food was beyond phenomenal as was the staff.  The owners walk around to each table to chat with the diners. I loved that personal touch! My wife  and I were thrilled with the experience.

I can't help but rave about The Gables! This is not your average Jersey Shore restaurant. When you go to The Gables, you are getting a full culinary experience. It's a pre fixe menu, which normally is limiting and difficult... but at The Gables, you will never leave dissatisfied. I've been swooning over the watermelon gazpacho since last summer, but it was even better this weekend. The peach and buratta appetizer was delightful, fresh, and a perfect balance of sweet, crisp, and creamy. My husband loved the duck, and I can not say enough about the Apricot porkchop. With all of the fruit accents in our dishes, we went with the red sangria to lean into the fresh and light taste of summer. Perfect date night 💓 Yes you can find a number of fantastic dinner spots across Long Beach Island, but there's just something extra special about the Gables.

Yelp
The whole deal-food, ambiance, service. Our favorite special occasion restaurant on lbi

Yelp
Another very good experience at The Gables. Mostly. Atmosphere is wonderful. Historic building, intimate rooms, candlelight (with real candles) and live piano music. Food was very good but portions have surely gotten smaller over the years. Onion tart, gnocchi, lobster app and scallop entree were all excellent. Cheesecake was good but the key lime dessert needed more substance. Service was interesting. Our server, who proudly told us that she was there 20 years, was fantastic at the start. But she eventually started to disappear and became less interested in us. The owner always works the room to say hello and ensure a good experience - I appreciate that. One thing I think they should consider is a small add on. The Gables is expensive so adding an amuse bouche or perhaps some dessert petit fours would be a nice touch. If you go, try and avoid a Saturday night. Obviously it's super busy/slightly chaotic and nearby larger tables damper the atmosphere. Bottom line: best restaurant on the island.

Yelp
Usually a lovely experience, but not the place for New Year's Eve. Very expensive ($220 per person which includes the usual 3 course dinner- no extras) Service was adequate although it was a challenge to get water. Steaks were not cooked the way we ordered and we were challenged when we tried to send an overcooked steak back. They finally did redo it and it came black and blue. Cappuccino was served cold (a table nearby got a cold espresso) and incurred a $9 charge. This was corrected with switching to regular coffee ($4.50) Food was good tho overall, service ok, pace of meal fine but restaurant was extremely crowded. Won't be back. UPDATE - Owner did take time to call to discuss. He offered 2 free bottles of wine next time we come back (it's BYOB anyway). Although we appreciate the call, I doubt we will go back. So many other restaurant options.

Yolanda S.

Yelp
I was there for dinner ! After 2 years of trying to sit in the garden area ,, we finally made it happen ! It is usually 5 stars but being in the garden area for for dinner made it 10 stars !! It was like a magical oasis Kate to care of us and was so lovely ! She gave us great recommendations and you can tell She loves working there !! Look forward to returning See you soon THE GABLE !!!!

Yelp
Came here with my wife for dinner when we were in LBI for the weekend. It's a great date spot, the ambiance is old school and classy without being pretentious. The service was attentive and friendly also. Most importantly, though, the food itself was delicious. It's a limited menu where you choose your 3 courses from a few options, but both my wife and I were impressed with all of the food - my pork was well prepared and perfectly seasoned. The restaurant is a little bit on the pricier side but it was worth it for anyone trying to find a nice meal considering most other restaurants on LBI are super casual.

Maria-Elena T.

Yelp
My cousin and her husband live locally and eat here regularly. BYOB and ice bucket waiting- nice touch!!! We sat in the very back garden which I loved. My cousin specifically requested the garden and I was glad. Loved the ambiance. It was very relaxing. Soft fresh bread. Warm. Loved it. Delicious olives. Not many but good. I ordered the agnolotti which she said is fresh made in house everyday. I also ordered the tuna and the coconut custard. The angolotti were delicious and the portion was not small. The waitress said it was but it was not. Next time I would pace myself better or order a salad. I could barely eat my tuna but it was absolutely fresh and delicious. Even as leftovers it was very good- the whole dish. My cousin loved her arancini. I thought they were ok. Her husband said the duck was gamy and fatty. I did no try it. Cheesecake dessert had lemon not evenly dispersed. I liked my coconut custard.

April L.

Yelp
What a wonderful dining experience! The service and food were both outstanding. Loved the decor of the entire space. The piano entertainment was a classy touch and so romantic. The pre fixed menu had nice choices with an up charge for the filet and tuna. The complimentary bread was so addictive we ordered a second. lol. We started with the burrata salad and Arancini. The burrata salad was great. The cheese was creamy and tossed with greens and homemade croutons. The dressing was fabulous! The arancini were also very flavorful. The entrees that we choose were the Pork chop and Tuna. Both dishes were exquisite! The pork was so flavorful and tender. My boyfriend loved the broccoli rabe as well. It was seasoned to perfection. The tuna was outstanding. So fresh and seared sushi style. It honestly was the best tuna I've ever eaten. Seasoned well and a very high quality. Both dishes were presented beautifully! For dessert we had the crème brûlée with raspberry and the coconut custard. Both were sinfully good and worth the calories. lol. I highly recommend The Gables for a romantic night out or special occasion. For two hours you will be transported to culinary heaven. It's also a byob so bring you finest bubbly! Awesome!

Yelp
The flowers and ambiance at The Gables is magnificent. This is such a perfect date night spot. My husband and I went here for my birthday and I was delighted. The food was delicious, service great, and the company was fantastic. It truly was a perfect night. Definitely check it out.

Sandra F.

Yelp
This place is a hidden gem in Beach Haven! It is so pretty inside and outside, blanketed by flowers, tress, bushes it is like a tropical paradise! When you come here please know that this is a pre-fixed menu, so you get to choose from an appetizer, entree and dessert. There are enough options for everyone to be happy in my opinion. Food was really good, and the staff here are so friendly, helpful and so accommodating. It is a bit pricey, but a perfect pick for special occasions!! They offer you the most delicious bread after you order. Get the lava cake for dessert and you won't be disappointed!!

Ben M.

Yelp
Old faahioned kind of frilly lace fine dining, lots of flowers and decor in a fancy setting. $120 per head prix fixe menu. My salad was super watery, like they didnt use a salad spinner after washing the lettuce. Got the swordfish entre, the fish was fine, but the sauce was very soupy and underflavored and they dont put salt and pepper on the table for you. Dessert was ok, but my coffee wasnt served hot and tasted like cheap office coffee. The service was very nice and friendly at least. All in all, not worth the money for what you recieve unfortunately.

Lou R.

Yelp
Great for special occasions. I look forward to the culinary journey every year. The appetizer I chose was the muscles with shoe string potatoes in a Brava sauce (a take on the Spanish Patatas Brava), the muscles practically melted in your mouth they were so tender. For entree it was the bone-in filet, which was perfectly char broiled and medium rare, a home run! I felt the supplemental price of $45 for the steak was a little steep when you're already paying $120pp for a three course. Our server seemed not trained to wait at this restaurant; she was always in a hurry and practically threw the dishes down in front of us, cleared other table items without asking, it made us feel like we were at a highway diner. It was my birthday and not even a little candle in my dessert (like it was done with the table next to us earlier, by another server who was fabulous). We will return as this place is truly special, but will ensure we have a better server. The Inn is surrounded by beautiful hydrangeas and the porch is beaming with gorgeous hanging baskets of petunias, all this combined with beautiful chandeliers, charming decor, and in the background a piano player.

Sarah N.

Yelp
One star for ambiance and one for the strawberry salad, but besides that the food and service were not good. The arancini were extremely mushy. Couldn't even tell there was rice in it. Same problem followed with the scallops and risotto--the risotto was watery and mushy, not al dente and no chew to the rice at all. The scallops were full of sand, grit in almost every bite. Everything lacked flavor and seasoning. Way too many mushrooms. After we ordered our meal they came back to tell us the peach cobbler was sold out--the only dessert that sounded good on the menu. The owner came by and asked how our meal was--I stated we were disappointed about no peach cobbler. He looked at the ceiling, muttered something then went to the next table. This place is not worth the money at all. I don't mind spending on good food, but the salad should have cost $12, the 3 sandy scallops 30$ and 8$ for a tiny cheesecake. Where the 98$ cost comes from, I have no idea. We got eaten by mosquitos all through dinner. Spend your money elsewhere.

Lia N.

Yelp
Amazing dining experience. Menu was a bit too small ... I think they need to add a few more options , especially if they want return customers, but other than that it was a beautiful night from start to finish.

Christopher D.

Yelp
We came here for the first time for a celebration. The decor is clearly Victorian and you can see it in the wide plank floors and decor. The menu is fixed price plus. Three courses. The appetizers were unanimously, delicious and well apportioned. Everybody enjoyed their entrée. The duck was a little cheap, with three little pieces, not what was expected in the least bit. The bone in fillet was delicious and a $35 up charge All the desserts were very tasty as well. The ambience is definitely well worth it.

Michael S.

Yelp
The only place for a leisurely gourmet three course dinner on LBI. At $98 prix fixe it is not inexpensive, but well worth the special occasion experience. Highly recommended. Service with Josh was excellent- well paced, friendly and professional. The covered back garden is magical with giant pink petunias, pine trees, song birds and garden lights including natural gas lanterns. The comfortable seats, white table cloth service and beautiful flatware add to the natural special feeling ambiance. We started with the excellent fresh crab cake, watermelon cold soup (could have used a little more spice) and the phenomenal lobster Cesar Salad with large pieces of claw meat. The entrees of vegan cavatelli with kale pesto was cooked a perfect Al dente, the halibut was super tender and sweet and my scallops in a mushroom risotto were wonderful (note a $15 supplement to prix fixe) The desserts are great with a new vegan mango sorbet with vegan biscotti. My lemon posset with pear was a perfect accompaniment to a steaming cup of rich coffee and my last sip of Chardonnay (byob) and the cheesecake brought silent smiling joy from my daughter with her cappuccino.

Yelp
Effectively an institution on LBI's south end - The Gables Inn is really the "highest end" restaurant you'll find on the island. We've been going for many years and are never disappointed. Recently, we had a family dinner (dining outside) on a Saturday night and were served by Dom (who was an absolutely outstanding server - an excellent communicator and super friendly). The food is well prepared and not overly fussy - although it's certainly true that the cuisine is elevated - especially compared to the median fare on LBI. The menu has transitioned to prix fixe only but there are plenty of selections for really any palette. Make sure you specify in your reservation where you'd like to sit (Inside or out). They have really squeezed in as many tables as possible so you'd may be a bit tight (especially in the main outdoor courtyard), but they make it work and truly - your table neighbors are likely to become friends if they aren't already. Great for any special occasion.

Yelp
Gables dining is always a summer fulfillment of mine. The ambience is quite elegant with a calming atmosphere landscaped with overflowing hanging baskets that match perfectly with one another on the open-air porch. The garden is lined with a flow of pink and white flowers, tall greenery and a fountain that attracts a curious bird or two. The tables are lined with white linens, heavy silverware, what appears to be crystal glasses, and a simple candle lit vase with one dark colored rose next to it. The meals being offered were a choice from a three course meal menu at $99 a person and an up charge of $38 for a bone in filet and a lobster Caesar salad. I must say that I was slightly disappointed with the choices of apps that evening. The salad my husband had was what appeared to be shredded thin long veggies tossed in an Asian dressing. It was definitely a light fare, but not something to order again. The bone in filet was an extra $38 and the first bite tasted like heavy charcoal from the grill. I wasn't impressed until cutting a bit more into the meat where the flavors eventually appeared. The scallop risotto was delightful and was a decent portion to satisfy. Our dessert was delicious and should've been offered with coffee after finishing our meals. All in all, I think the Gables is a must try, but I think mostly the romantic dining atmosphere is what really attracts me to dining year after year at this establishment.

Albert G.

Yelp
The food was over priced for a fixed meal dinner. Could not substitute any sides on the menu. Serves was adequate. Will not be going back.

Alanna B.

Yelp
This was a great BYOB restaurant on LBI. Love the Prix Fixe option with a nice selection of choices to choose from. The restaurant gives a beach vibe with a business casual flare. You would feel underdressed if you came in a t-shirt and shorts for sure. Definitely would be back if on LBI again for dinner. Make dinner reservations in advance.

Heidi O.

Yelp
Really wanted to love this place, it is beautiful and elegant but, no prices on menu so beware. The halibut tonight was dry and really lacked any flavor, probably should have sent it back. Salads were good and dessert was good. Service was horrendous, the server was borderline rude. Won't go back, but will walk by to see their gorgeous flowers for sure. Oh the table was uneven.

Anonymous S.

Yelp
We were confirmed a date and time for our party of 20 for a very small wedding. After countless unanswered calls and emails, we were finally contacted by email that our date was in fact not available. This was after our invites went out. No one had the decency to even pick up the phone. The gables is beautiful, but they treat customers like we're doing them a favor dining there. I will never give them my business again. Be better, Gables! Ashley H, the manager is to blame here I might add. She handled this terribly. Horrible service. Thanks Ashley!

A G.

Yelp
Exceptional service, simple yet delicious food, and a sweet secluded atmosphere. Worth every penny.

Lauren P.

Yelp
Made a 545pm reservation for the gables for a party of 4. Got to the restaurant on time. The person greeting us was lovely. The two woman seating people were not. It was myself, my husband, my parents and our 6 month old. The people seating us made a very big deal out of the fact that our 6 month old was there. They told me i should have booked the reservation as a party of 5 and not 4. Even though my daughter was in her stroller and honestly - wasn't bothering anyone. They shamed me for the stroller and said they had to move a lot of tables around only to find that the place was empty and only one family was there. We ended up walking out without eating. The place is beautiful yes but the service is not it. I've taken my daughter to finer places and have never been made to feel like that.

Shanna C.

Yelp
Our second time at the Gables, my partner and I had our date night during our last day of vacation, kids-free. Always a romantic and relaxing setting replete with inspired dishes, consisting of perfectly cooked, fresh items that are obviously prepared with love and thought. Every bite of every course offers amazing flavor. Beautiful presentation and setting. Make a date with your partner if you are ever passing through here, and try to sit out on the porch of this gorgeous, gaslit Victorian house. Attentive and wonderful service.

Danny W.

Yelp
The food here is good but over presented, bluntly great ingredients don't need a bunch of stuff on top to make them very good. Was this way from the app to the dessert. The ambiance of the old Victorian is the show , the service was dinerish, from having to pass done plates to refilling own wine and waters, to not offering fresh pepper, or bringing proper condiments with coffee. The pork chop was over brined with to much salt and had the consistency of tofu. At 100.00 plus per person, it's byob unless your into paying for ambience, there are many better meals to be enjoyed on the island..

Albert D.

Yelp
I absolutely recommend this restaurant if price is no consideration. Food and service Esate excellent. Great place to celebrate a special event. I wish it was much more reasonable as I really enjoy going there .

Pasquale I.

Yelp
This establishment refused to serve myself and my elderly aunt a glass of wine. They felt it was not prudent to not provide glass of wine with dinner when we described our plans to Uber home with our whole family Please do NOT plan any gathering here as it was made clear regardless of driving or not they have no intention of being kind or accommodating when a family is trying to pay over $700.00 For a dinner Please spend your Money elsewhere and your family willl thank you!! Happy to recommend many other establishments in LBI as good if not substantially better for 1/2 the price or less Please reach out for a better recommendation directly

Stephen H.

Yelp
We had the very real pleasure of staying at The Gables while visiting from out of town. The rooms were wonderfully appointed and very comfortable. The entire staff was warm, friendly, and gracious. Our breakfasts were delicious and abundant; I believe that they would satisfy even the largest of appetites! Dinner was an amazing event. The chef's creations were fabulous! My Honey-Roasted Heirloom Carrot starter was an amazing taste treat and the Bone-In Filet Mignon with Broccolini was outstanding! My wife thoroughly enjoyed the Mediterranean Tomato Salad starter The Grilled Berkshire Pork Chop. Although we ate inside, the garden in the back of the property is a wonderful place for dining. A fellow diner commented that this would be the ideal spot to produce a ring and pop the question; I couldn't have agreed more! All in all, our visit was an exceptional experience!

Susie W.

Yelp
Had a lovely dinner at The Gables prix fixe this week. Super romantic with a garden-like atmosphere with beautiful lamps and swings. Good is expensive but worth every dollar. Keep in mind they're BYOB.

Barbara D.

Yelp
My husband and I went for a romantic Valentines Day dinner. We new it was going to be pricey but always wanted to try it. The ambiance was beautiful, rooms were quaint. Unfortunately we had to rush through dinner because it was extremely cold in the restaurant. Moved our seat by fireplace and it was still cold. Noticed other couples also moving their seats and also putting their jackets on. I did message them on Facebook if there was a heating issue, twice! No response either time. I'm going to guess that it was about 58 degrees in the restaurant. Had I known if it was a heating issue I would have dressed warmer or cancel my reservation until the problem was solved. Wouldn't go back because of getting no response from management.

Cat M.

Yelp
Romantic special place for a dinner fit for foodies! Menu is small but that's totally fine with me - so much easier to figure out what to order. Table was set so lovely - china & crystal glasses with a fresh rose & candle. I loved the atmosphere! If it's warm enough out, make a reservation for the garden - it was too cold the night we went so we enjoyed our dinner indoors. This place is much larger than you would imagine! We started out sharing the burratta which was a very popular choice as i noticed many couples ordering it. For entree's I had the black bass w/ramen - light & yummy & my husband splurged on the bone-in filet - soooo delish!!! I saw many people getting the scallops & they looked great! Portions are a good size so I am glad we shared an app. We ended dinner with cappuccino's. The bill was very reasonable! The owner - Steve stopped by each table to check on how we enjoyed our meal - we enjoyed it VERY MUCH!!

Grace P.

Yelp
Attended for a bachelorette with a very large group. Service was impeccable, friendly and attentive. Food was divine and in season. Servers made great recommendations for each person's specific interest. Ambiance is incredible with gorgeous florals, a beautiful entrance, and an amazing back patio space. Magical!

Terri H.

Yelp
The ambiance is beautiful especially if you enjoy sophisticated dining. Unfortunately the recommended pork chop both my friend and I found extremely dry and with little taste. The Service was good. Pre fixe menu at $98 we found a tad high.

Daniel K.

Yelp
We've been there several times. The food is fantastic, and we've always enjoyed it. The most recent time was less so unfortunately. The staff was, for lack of a better word, "snobby" and non-accommodating. We don't get that type of treatment at better and more expensive restaurants in Manhattan. What a shame.

Keyla S.

Yelp
So pretty. They have created a beautiful ambiance in both their deck and garden outdoor settings. They had a prefix menu that offered a nice variety of options. I had the watermelon gazpacho with jumbo lump crab; it was delicious and refreshing. A very nice combination of flavors. For my main course I had the sword fish, again this was delicious. It was served with a very tasty olive tempanade. The service was great from the time we checked in until we paid for our meal. Emeralds was incredible. Everything was top notch. The decor, the service and the food.

danielle r.

Yelp
We came for a fancy splurge dinner during our girls weekend. Ambiance is great, but, I don't know that it was necessarily worth the $96/pp price tag. The food was tasty and the presentation was attractive. I had the burrata appetizer, roasted halibut main, and chocolate gateau dessert. My favorite things were the burrata, the grilled bread that came with the burrata and the mushrooms that came on the halibut plate. Halibut filet was a generous size and cooked great but lacked seasoning. Our server described the chocolate gateau to be like a molten lava cake, but, it was more like a fudgey cake. No lava center. That was a bit disappointing as I didn't know what to expect. I tasted the lemon dessert, the seafood risotto, and the pork chop- all of which were very tasty.

Yelp
Came on a Tuesday in July for dinner with my husband. We have been meaning to check out for some time. We made a 6:30 reservation and were warmly treated by the hostess. She said we could sit inside, on the front porch and the back garden and offered to show us all 3 before we chose. Inside was nice but the weather was perfect so we wanted outside. The front patio was very nice but we opted for the back garden. There are maybe 10 tables, a chandelier and beautiful flowers. You really don't think you are on LBI and only 2 blocks from the seashell. They are BYOB but also offer wine from a NJ winery. We opted to bring our own. My husband called about dress code and they said no beach wear or flip flops and most guys wore a button down shirt and shorts. We did see a lot of guys in just polo shirts but everyone definitely looked nice. There also weren't many kids - in fact I think I saw one and she was maybe 12 or so. It is definitely upscale. For dinner you can order a la carte or they have a grazing menu - 4 courses (2 choices for each course) for $75 and they ask the whole table does this menu. We decided to try and we each selected a different option so in the end we tried all 8 courses on the grazing menu. The grazing menu does not offer dessert as one of the courses. Highlights - the burrata with prosciutto, the raviolo (homemade with spinach - we heard them say later they sold out), the duck breast. We also had salmon, portobello fries, BLT salad, eggplant meatballs, gazpacho. They did say they are known for scallops and I saw many order them and they were huge and they looked delicious! Our sever was very attentive and we never felt rushed. A wonderful memorable dining experience and we already made our next reservation to go back in a few weeks!

Shsail S.

Yelp
Overall C+ Atmosphere is darling Service was nice but stretched too thin. Menu in person NOT the same as online (online looked to have better choices) Ran out of menu items that should be simple to have. Wine choices were delicious but whites & rose were not chilled. If supposed to be fine dining silverware was odd mixture of forks & knives.

Victoria S.

Yelp
The Gables was an amazing dining experience! We had Lori as a server who was excellent and the manager (didn't catch her name) came around to check on us. They were very accommodating as they let us bring our own bottles of wine, let us pick our seats (the porch) and also, were very understanding of my dietary restrictions (pescetarian). The food was excellent, flavors beyond exquisite. We will be coming back next year to try out the garden seating in the back!

Yelp
This is hands down the best meal I've had in a while. So impressed with the good creativity and restaurant ambiance. Soooo yummy

Yelp
My wife and I had an excellent dinner here. Everything was great. Make sure to bring your own wine as they are a BYOB. They do serve some decent local wine. The food was great. The ambiance was great. The noise level was exactly what we were looking for in the room where we dined. Outside or in the garden are probably better if you're looking for a quieter spot.

Yelp
Amazing meal on the back patio of the gables. Waiter was young, but had been well trained and was helpful. It is byob so you can bring your own wine, otherwise they sell by the bottle. Food was excellent, especially the raviolo and chocolate cake. Chef definitely puts their own spin on traditional meals. Our only complaint is that so many of the appetizers and entrees are priced up on an already pricey meal.

Yelp
This restaurant is absolutely beautiful! I did not even know it existed, but when my original Dinner plans for my Birthday fell through, we had to figure out another option fairly quickly and were luckily able to snag one of the few Dinner spots available at 7:30 PM. I was a little nervous about going because I am a picky eater and the menu changes daily. We were seated on the porch, and there were absolutely no bugs flying around which was amazing! The staff also seems super friendly and helpful. The restaurant is also BYOB, so we brought our own large bottle of wine. They offer the choice of tap water or sparkling water which is nice. The bread is also delicious! I ordered the cavatelli pasta which had a kale pesto, pepitas, and shiitake mushrooms. Normally that is not something I would ever eat, but I gave it a try and it was absolutely phenomenal. So delicious! I had the filet bone-in steak for Dinner (which is a $30 up charge). I ordered medium, but it came out more so medium-rare. Still very delicious, and came with garlic mashed potatoes. Finally, for dessert, I chose the chocolate gateau cake with pistachio ice cream on top. Sooo delicious! They even had some live music playing nearby which was a nice touch! The only thing I will recommend to patrons is that you get there a little early to get yourself a parking spot. Parking is pretty limited; luckily my Mom and Nana have a handicap sticker so we were able to get the last handicap parking spot.

Yelp
Amazing setting, amazing food and amazing people. Owners Steve and Sondra came around and made sure we were having a wonderful dining experience. Erin our server was extremely professional, informative, efficient and took care of our every need. She made us feel special. Erin gave us her recommendations which were spot on. A wonderful first class dining experience. John

Yelp
One of the best dinners we had on the island. Felt very safe and tables were socially distanced. We sat in the back garden. Had the Prix fix with scallops, duck and cherry dessert. Great experience and service. Highly recommend for a nice night out

Yelp
Great date night place. Take your time eating, enjoy the flavors and atmosphere. You have to sit in the front porch.

Yelp
This is our third year, in a row, dining at The Gables and I think it may be our last. We sat outside on the patio which is absolutely beautiful but the service was incredibly slow. Our waitress was taking care of all of the tables on the patio (and possibly more inside). We each had the pre-fixed menu - the crab cakes had so much filling that there was barely any crab meat in the crab cake. My filet was over cooked (I asked for medium rare and it was prepared medium...by the time our entrees arrived it was so dark outside that I couldn't see how my steak was cooked so had to use my flash light). They offered to make another steak cooked at the right temperature but they quoted an additional 45m to make it. With a $45 up charge I was hoping the steak would have been cooked as requested. Overall, it's a nice experience, but with the slow service and very long delays between each course I think it's time to move on.

Yelp
Amazing food and service. We were there to celebrate my daughter's engagement and were greeted and served by friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating staff. The food was impeccable and equally delicious.
