Fairy solid brews and good service. There is often seating as they have a good amount of tables both indoors and outdoors. The variety of beer flavors is always good to see and they almost always have something new!

Google
Chose this place since it was the midpoint between me and a buddy I hadn’t seen in some time. Super happy those circumstances brought us there because the beer was phenomenal… especially the Boss Lady sours. Little high on the alcohol % but went down so smooth. Bartenders were nice and attentive. Despite it being Jeep night the crowd was tame and it didn’t get too loud. Food truck was delish. Great place!

Kaszia C.

Google
Great place to have a brewski!! The bartenders are friendly and the service is great. They have a great patio view and even games you sit outside and enjoy. AND THEY HAVE COOL GLASSWARE.

Google
Nice selection of craft beers. Very friendly staff. Like the live music and the atmosphere.

Beer is cold and delicious, great service highly recommend!

Google
Great beer, regularly scheduled food trucks, dog friendly!

Google
Solid brewery! Very nice atmosphere on the inside and very friendly staff. There is a loft area on the left from the entrance that is very nice with a set of Scrabble boards on the wall which just added to the experience. The beer selection was nice and the quality was very good. There is a food truck outside, tonight it was sushi, but other patrons were also getting food delivered as it is allowed in the establishment. I will come back!

Google
Stopped in while on a road trip headed for OBX. We really enjoyed our time here. The place has a great vibe with lots of seating, windows, a funky garage atmosphere. There was a food truck when we were there. The beer was very good. I had a flight that consisted of IPAs, Sours, and a Coffee Stout. The Stout was the best of the bunch but it was all good. We would certainly be regulars if we lived in the area!

Yelp
This is an update to my previous review with genuine beer comments. What a wonderful BREWERY! Wil, the brewer has a very special talent of taking readily available ingredients and making an other worldly product.  I love great beer.  And I love this beer.  Okay... I really love this beer. THE BEER: In Dog years I'm Dead.. helles Lager 5.2% ABV... closer to a pilsner and quite good. Timewatermelon time.. wheat beer 4.2% ABV... I love this! Watermelon rind and the sweetness and caramel of watermelon.  So very crushable! This is not a Seltzer, but if you like them, you should love this. Light bulb.. American lage 4.2% ABV... this is the equivalent of their Miller, but way better. Smooth Operator.. peach mango wheat beer 5% ABV... perfumed and mango forward, easy drinking delicious and totally crushable. Confundido.. tequila infused IPA 7.3% ABV... OMG... I can't describe the flavor, but loved this.  It draws you in to the deep water and drowns you. Three of these and you need a designated driver. LGBTG+.. New England IPA 6.5% ABV... my third time having this, and no matter your pronouns this is a solid New England. Flesh Wound.. New England IPA 7.3%... my second time with Flesh Wound. First time I liked it, second time I loved it.  So afraid for a third time. Might have to buy a ring. Confused?.. American IPA 7% ABV... Yes F Bomb.. DIPA 9% ABV... Tha f@&k. This is so very great!! If you have ever had Manatee... this is that all day, all powerful, wonderful IPA.  BOOM! Tetanus.. Amber Ale 6.3% ABV... this is my second favorite beer here.  See RUSTED NAIL. Rusted Nail.. American Amber 6.3% ABV...  So very well balanced caramel red.  This is not an Irish red. More well balanced and quite delicious.  I could have one of these every day until infinity. Builder from Hell.. Coffee Stout 10% ABV... this is a colab with Pale Horse Coffee.. a little acidic, but not bad... this is your coffee shot, with alcohol Bourbon Aged breakfast builder.. Imperial Stout 10.5% ABV... pour this on your pancakes on a bender and you will level out, or drink it straight so you can pour it on your pancakes in the immediate future. This is nice. Boss Lady Vol. 2.. triple berry sour 8% ABV...  if this was a slushy it would be an all day drinker. So very good. Boss Lady Vol. 8.. Sangria sour 6% ABV... truly refreshing and wonderfully balanced.  This is a WINNER!

Yelp
As a brewery seeker, I was excited to try this one. It's located in a newer area of Chesapeake. It was crowded inside and outside; not sure if this was because it was St. Patrick's Day weekend or if that's their regular crowd. They didn't have as many options as I'm used to and most were IPAs or darker beer. I'm more of a cider, sour, lager girlie. To each his own! We may give it another shot to see what new ones they put on tap.

Yelp
Stopped here during Octoberfest - super cool vibe! Great beer according to my husband, and I even drank something called the boss lady no 8...very good! They don't serve food, but have rotating food trucks...we tried the pretzel and it was amazing. Their staff is super nice and were very friendly to our dogs .

Sarah J.

Yelp
Great variety of food trucks. Drinks are always delicious, as long as you like beer, LOL. Service has always been great. The ambiance is very nice- not too loud or quiet. There are always events going on, so they really have something for everyone. I love the monthly yoga classes and Pilates classes that they host. Music bingo and trivia are fun too!

Yelp
Definitely miss this place! Just moved from Virginia and the craving for the Boss lady beer they make is REAL! Food trucks are always fire! The bar tenders interact with you and are very sweet people! Really know how to make your day better. Meghan was so nice!! The brewery overall is such a cool place to bring friends/family so we definitely recommend!

Yelp
I've loved every choice they've provided for brews!!! And their events are awesome. Just left the Renaissance Faire! Had a blast! I'm dressing up next year!

Sheila D.

Yelp
The ambiance was really cool, and the beer was very good. Their glasses have a unique design. Service was top notch.

Yelp
Cool chill vibe, lots of seating, great service, nice people.... Only part that sucked is that the food truck didn't stick around past 7:30pm

Laura E.

Yelp
My husband loves this place!! I love that it is dog friendly. Everyone is super friendly and welcoming!! Vibe is great!! Always a great food truck when we've been there.

Juan B.

Yelp
Great atmosphere; fun bar staff; delicious brews; best of all, dog friendly! Definitely recommend!

Yelp
I've been impressed with the beers the handful of times I have been here, but our most recent visit this past Tuesday 6/29 was just ok. The beers were tasty and cold so that made the visit worthwhile. That, and we had a kid-free night. We arrived around 7:15pm and they were hosting a Jeep event, so the front grassy area was lined with Jeeps - very cool for those interested. We found the place pretty full inside when we arrived, but there was a high top and some bar seating opened. There were a few guests in line at the bar so it wasn't a long wait for beers. The bartender that took our orders and opened our tab acted like she couldn't care less about being there (which I surmised was probably due to the fact that she was getting off work soon, as she joined some other guests at the bar and enjoyed a beer just a few minutes after we ordered). She also poured me a full 10 oz goblet when we asked for a 5 oz taster. No idea if we were charged for the full 10, though I suspect we were, as I didn't see the tab. One of the reasons I like Garage is the smaller pours, so I get a chance to taste more without getting hammered. This defeated the purpose, but anyway... It was a nice evening and we had hoped to sit outside on the benches. A handwritten "JEEPS ONLY @ 5PM" sign at the patio door deterred us. I was disappointed as there were a few open tables outside clearly going unused, but didn't want to step on toes. I would have liked to sit outside, not just because of the weather, but it was quite loud inside with the sheer number of guests, loud music and barking dogs. Upon exit, I noticed they had a table of board games for those interested. I noted they were having another car event yesterday (Wed 6/30) and, when I drove by around 3pm, they had half the parking lot blocked for those cars. I'll definitely make note of what events are happening before I return. I wish they were more accommodating to ALL guests rather than those just coming for whatever event is scheduled.

Yelp
Garage Brewery is a great neighborhood spot with so much personality. The place literally looks like a renovated garage and many aspects of the brewery fit with the garage and construction theme. It definitely seemed like a great way to utilize the space with its industrial, rustic roots. As for the beer selection, I have to say I was slightly disappointed. Although it's quite impressive to have everything from a sour to an IPA to a stout, I do think that the beers were a bit lackluster. The flavors weren't bad but they weren't anything to be wow'ed by. The breweries I'd give a 5 would usually have a memorable or signature beer but I don't recall anything that particularly stands out. All in all, I would give the beers an average of 3.5 but given how creative and pleasant the interior is, I'll round up to a 4.

Yelp
Love the fact that this place is right down the street from me! We came here during their Grand Opening and have been a patron since! Staff is awesome and gives great recommendations. Love the variety of beers and food trucks they offer! Parking- it will get a little crowded during the warmer months but you can side street park. It's pretty open in the inside, there a small upstairs section and they have an outdoor patio area as well. Dogs and kids are welcome indoors. But kids have to be leashed. LOL just kidding. But during the pandemic, a few breweries are not allowing kids inside.

Ron K.

Yelp
This place is amazing. I've been coming here for a few years and it's always a good time. The service is incredible! Kylie is just the best! it's really like a modern version of "Cheers" They have great game nights like trivia and music bingo and The beers are great! I suggest the F-bomb IPA and the No Carrot all is great when it's in season. Will is an incredible brewer, his ideas and craft are unsurpassed.

Yelp
Always a great time. Love everything about it., the great food trucks,, events, atmosphere, beers, the other customers, the friendly and welcoming staff, and all the animals (especially the cool cat that goes there). My dog enjoys it just as much as i do which will keep me going back whenever I'm over that way.

Yelp
I've visited several hundred different breweries over the years, and this one is one of the best so far. The most important criteria is of course, the beer. The Garage Brewery has a good mix of beer styles, and doesn't favor one type too heavily. I'm a hop-head, and their IPA's did not disappoint. The brewery itself doesn't serve food, but seems to have a regular rotation of food trucks. The decor was interesting, and any kid or gear head will appreciate it. The bathrooms were clean, the patio is spacious, and the staff was friendly and knowledgeable in their beer recommendations. The night that I stopped by was a Tuesday, and the "Going Coastal" Jeep club meets here every other Tuesday. It was a nice coincidence, as I was also in my Jeep, and met some really nice Jeepers. If you're a brewery fan and in the 7 cities, you definitely need to try the Garage Brewery.

Yelp
Good beer, good times, GREAT atmosphere! The staff is incredibly friendly & great at recommendations. Calm, chill setting - a nice escape from reality. ALSO PLUS!!! LOTS of cute dogs!

Yelp
Good service. Good beer. They had a Thai food truck there that was bangin. What else more could you want?

Yelp
Huge fan of this brewery. Back when I was traveling for work , this was a sure stop! The selection was great. The patrons were awesome as well. The location is different from the ones back home for me in New Orleans. I like this format. Most of ours are unfished warehouses with only the most well heeled financially backed ones resembling this site. Its a fun vibe here and I wish I had a friend with me when I was visiting The Garage. When I visit the area again, I will definitely stop here for a buzz.

Yelp
My friend had to redeem herself for a bust of a night out & this was the perfect redemption! Came for (anti) trivia night a little wide-eyed since it was our first time here, but the hostess was super sweet and inviting. We got everything we needed + submitted our team name until the show began! Nice clean, crisp layout with great lighting. Best to come at a reasonable time to get good seating in view of the TV used for the game, but there's also upstairs seating! Nice introduction of the judges & they had a mic to be heard. It was definitely fun! Best answers chosen based on the judges sense of humor, so it definitely got pretty interesting! Loved the water on tap easily accessible by customers. I assume they don't serve any food, but it was great to see a food truck available outside. You can check their website ahead of time to see who will be there! Great for relaxed weekday fun.

Yelp
If your into triple IPA's, their beer is !!!!!!!!!! If you got a special someone that can only handle sours, their Vol. 2 is to die for!!! 10 out of 10 recommend Believe the Hype

Yelp
I had a lovely evening at Garage. Warmly welcome at the bar by one of the barmaids who took my card and started my tab. Super selection of beers, so I started with their Czech pilsner "Caterpilsner" and later trying the APA "Brothers in Arms" that was also excellent. I finished the evening with a half pour of the chocolate dunkelweizen "Huckle Buckle Dunkel" that was good as well. The bar is lightly decorated but there is definitely plenty of seating. The "mezzanine" appealed to me so I was up there and mostly alone for the two hours I spent here. A bit of peace with beer. Check the website for the food truck schedule. Comfortable, very good beer and they have a bunch of board games and speedy wifi. It's only a bummer that no one showed for my UYE. [Review 11941 overall, 1723 of 2019.]

Yelp
A great place for this growing brewery !!!! Though you really couldn't tell it was new, by the chemistry of everyone working together, being knowledgeable about the brews of the day, pleasant, and just being in a great happy mood here at The Garage Brewery. The team consists of Jayme, Chelsea, John, Heidi, Erika, Andrew, Joe, Megan, Laurie, owners Ulyana and Roy as well. They ALL partake in taking care of you the customer and keeping it clean and ready !! A dog friendly environment both inside and outside for your convenience and with bowls for their food or water. Yes they get their drink on also !!! As new flavors are being created to keep up with the growing community of fans !!! New favorites will be sure to come like Boss Lady, Very Cherry, Light Bulb, F-Bomb, Boss Lady Vol. 2, Rusted Nail, Crowbar, and Smooth Operator. As you enjoy your brews, you will have the choice of enjoying yourself outside in the patio area or inside, either upstairs (tables) or downstairs (tables or bar area). Enjoy the construction, garage decor, and blu prints on the bar of different items. Oh and you gotta check out the cool souvenir gear available as well !!!!

Yelp
Was working in Chesapeake early this week and found that the brewery was just a few minutes from the office so I decided to head over when I got off work. Picked out five for a flight, and was not disappointed. Smooth Operator: As the name described In Dog Years I'm Dead: Good crisp beer with a really nice back end. Eye Contact: Very good IPA. I'm not normally a fan of IPA's, but I had two in my flight, and they were both exceptional. Rusted Nail: A terrific amber ale...light with a smooth finish. Confused: An American IPA....a pleasant surprise...very, very good. Thanks to the great staff behind the bar... everyone there friendly and helpful. I also love that you're dog friendly....that's always a plus with me! I enjoyed my visit, and next time I'm in the neighborhood I will be stopping by again. Thanks to everyone.

Yelp
We absolutely love the atmosphere of this brewery! It's very spacious, well decorated and extremely dog friendly equipped with poop bags, treats, and I even think they offer some sort of doggy monthly membership. They offer a wide selection of beer that will suit anyone's taste. I personally go for the flights in order to try all the beers because they often have new ones. Most recently, we were drawn to Garage Brewing for their I-Beam Blonde-- brewed with locally grown scorpion peppers. When I tell you that was the most unique and delicious beer I've ever had, I mean it! Unfortunately it was a small batch, limited release.. but if they ever brew it again, I highly recommend! They host a lot of cool food trucks in the area so be sure to check their social media when planning your next visit! When we went last week we stumbled upon music bingo night which was pretty neat. When they're busy the parking lot fills up pretty quickly but we've always been able to find street parking. Overall we just really love the vibe of this brewery, and it earns bonus points for being woman owned! :)

Yelp
Great beer and nice environment. Pet friendly so there were lots of dogs, which is fine. But it's not ok for me to bring in my pet turtle in a large bowl of water? Yeah, ok.

Krystyna D.

Yelp
They don't serve food however, they have a food trucks which amazing . Bear Really good. Everybody will find what they like. Service is great. Atmosphere is fantastic!

Ryan L.

Yelp
Ever since moving back to the area, Garage has been my spot! Will is an incredible brewer, and he is always trying to different things to meet all sorts of beer taste buds. The Rusted Nail and In Dog Years I'm Dead are two of my favorites. Garage is also a great place for community. I have made so many friends through Garage, and the staff foster a neighborhood, welcoming vibe. The people there are truly like family to me! Garage is also intentionally welcoming and supportive of ALL people in the Hampton Roads community, having events during Pride, hosting fun drag shows, and partnering with local organizations that support amazing causes. It is encouraging and affirming to see a brewery valuing each and every person that walks through their doors.

Yelp
Cool vibe at the garage abs a great selection of beer. BBQ-Mac n Cheese food truck was amazing. Lock them down to stay!
google avatar

Megan K.

Yelp
I love this new brewery! The staff is so friendly and dogs are allowed inside; perfect for hot weather! They have plenty of dog bowls for water as well. The beers are incredible and there is plenty of seating. The fruity wheat and Confused? IPA were tasty and refreshing. Clean and inviting atmosphere. I will definitely be back. Two food trucks out front which were very popular and had big portions. This place is in a great location and I'm not disappointed. :)

Yelp
Stopped here on a whim and found it to be fun. Beer was great and the beer menu was a solid mix. Staff was friendly, quick service too. Dog friendly so we enjoyed seeing all the pups while we sat outside. Outside seating was a little noisy with a main road near the patio. No food on the menu but had a food truck in the parking lot.
google avatar

Susan P.

Yelp
This is a great brewery! Lots of space indoor and out. Very dog friendly. very clean. The staff were extremely friendly. Would have like more beer choices and the food truck was just okay and very expensive with very little choices. We would definitely go back!
google avatar

Michaela D.

Yelp
I was finally able to make it out to this unique Chesapeake brewery with a few friends on a Saturday night. It was fairly busy, but there was no line to order and ample seating available. Per my usual new brewery routine, I ordered a flight which ended up being about $15 for five, 5oz pours. I tried a variety ranging from gose to IPA to cream ale. To me, about three of the five had a very distinct flavor profile, while the other two kind of faded in the background. None were my favorite I've ever had, but none were bad either! There was a food truck serving Greek food outside, but I didn't try it. I really enjoyed the bustling atmosphere. It was loud, but not too loud to miss hearing my friends. I enjoyed my time there and I will definitely be back!
google avatar

Shannon C.

Yelp
We got 2 samplers. I'm my opinion all the beers tasted flat except the octane beer. I was also hoping they would have more of a selection but I assume because of COVID their selection was down. The inside was clean, the outside had heaters which was nice. We will probably go back.

Mike S.

Yelp
Came to to the Virginia Beach area from Texas for family business. This was first brewery that I visited during some down time, I have been brewing for over ten years. I enjoyed this unique brewery. The staff was friendly and the beer was good. I would definitely recommend this brewery or visit it again the next time I am in Virginia. Cheers, Mike Hutto, Tx
google avatar

Jonathan H.

Yelp
While I don't make it into The Garage as much as I would like, every trip is thoroughly enjoyable. It's amazing to see how far the brewery has come in such a short period of time. There is plenty of seating to be had, whether it is in the main room, upstairs, or out on the patio. I also love the fact it is Fido friendly! And can't forget the beer! Whether you are looking for that full bodied stout or something lighter, The Garage has a beer for every palette. My suggestion is the newly revamped Boss Lady. Be careful though, as it comes I in at 8% but goes down much, much easier.
google avatar

Ryan A.

Yelp
I didn't know what I'd step into walking into this place, but I loved it! Each brew had a specific flavor profile setting each of them apart from each other. No using the same wort, then hopping it with different flavors. Each had their place in the world of the beer bacteria that produces the flavor profiles along with the hops. I usually have maybe 2 beers at an event, or 3 depending on the atmosphere. This spot, I made it to 4 and a half. The half came from my work calling me outside to endure the heat while I assisted them at the shop. So my beer was "donated", without my knowledge, to my friends fiance. I wasn't upset at all. I'm just happy it found a home! The Honey Bee was sweet but not overpowering. The Very Cherry wasn't cough syrup tasting. The aftertaste was an actual cherry flavor as if you picked one from a tree! The Builder was nice and hefty. It left a good amount of aftertaste on the back of my tongue. Nice and roasty! Smooth Operator was easy going down. What you'd expect from a crisp wheat beer. Confused? IPA was delicious! An amazing balance of all levels of flavor while holding onto that tight 7% abv. I'm a huge fan of IPA's because of the floral aspect along with the juiciness! I'll be back. I've heard they're experimenting with sours and I'm curious to see what else they have hidden up their sleeves! Great work and keep em coming!

Yelp
I think it's a relatively new brewery in the area, and it was live on a Saturday afternoon. Definitely dog friendly and there's a variety of them that are brought here! There was barely a free table when we got there, but the bartenders were quick to provide alcohol at the bar with little to no wait and servers were diligent with removing empty glasses and clearing tables. I had the boss lady, and then a flight of 5 others. Boss lady was my favourite of the bunch.. A sour, wine coloured beer with great flavor! Uncle Stanley came in second... With a good bit of sourness to it. Prices were decent... What you'd expect. Overall, a great place to meet up with friends and have some fun with delicious drinks. Food is provided via a food truck outside... But I didn't have a chance to try that yet.

M O.

Yelp
We have been coming here since they opened. We enjoy the variety of beer on tap. Staff is always welcoming and friendly. There seem to always be a great rotation of food trucks parked out front. Nothing like kicking back and having a beer in the "garage"
google avatar

Shebly K.

Yelp
The atmosphere is fun. I love seeing all the dogs. They do have food trucks most of the time from what I could tell. We didn't check out the one we had today with it being our first time trying this place. They were having a music bingo which sounded pretty cool. They also have little games you can take to your table and play. They had some good T-shirts for sale from which I could tell. It's nice they aloud dogs and children they should always be a part of the fun right! Now the beers! The first one we tried was The Light Bulb which was a good go to for anyone that doesn't like experimenting with strong flavors. Also tried the "I'd be dead in dog years" it wasn't bad but had a Apple cider vinegar aftertaste that I could do without. They also sell soda cans for people who don't want any alcohol.

Yelp
First time at Garage Brewery. I've been wanting to come here for a long time and they didn't disappoint. Staff is super friendly and nice. Great hang out spot for you and your friends to enjoy some beers. Can't wait to come back.

Yelp
Been meaning to try this place out for a while. I finally visited yesterday with mt husband and overall, really cute place. They had a good variety, something for everyone though we prefer IPAs and got the double and regular. Both were pretty alright. They had 2 food trucks outside with some great hot dogs and ok wings (but that speaks more to the food truck than the brewery). The outside was patio is cutely decorated and they have games you can grab to play at the table. Very clean and relaxed environment. I'd have given it five stars but my biggest turn off was the staff. I understand everyone has their bad days but the ladies up front just seemed generally off putting and unfriendly when ordering, retrieving glasses, and closing my tab.

Yelp
Went here for their Thursday night bingo and it was a great time! I love the atmosphere and the beers are good! I enjoyed my flight as well! The customer service was great as well. Will def be one of my go-to breweries now.

Yelp
The Garage is definitely one of my favorite spots in Chesapeake. Great beer, great atmosphere, kind, compassionate, and knowledgeable workers.... I always feel welcome whenever I come in and I never leave without a smile on my face. The food trucks always compliment the beer really well, as well, and I always look forward to my next time I get to hang out at the brewery. If you haven't been, go. You won't regret it.
google avatar

Yelp
If anyone asked me what I liked to drink, I used to always say I'm a wine, cider, and cocktail kinda girl. So... literally anything but beer LOL. I just couldn't hop on board with the wheaty hoppy flavors. But then I decided to meet up with a good old friend from my childhood here and discovered THESE beers and I was hooked. I like sours, fruity beers and really light ones so the ones that always call my name are the Boss Lady, the Craneberry Gose, and the Smooth Operator. So good I bought growlers of them to keep with me when I returned to NOVA. It's a really nice hangout spot with food trucks every day. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and the staff is very nice. Turns out I went to high school with one of the brewers too! Small world.

William W.

Yelp
Absolutely the best brewery for beer quality in the entire Hampton Roads area. Smooth Operator, the Boss Lady variants, and seasonal selections like Tidewatermelon and fall favorites make this THE place to have a cold one and hangout or get growlers to go.
google avatar

Ryan H.

Yelp
This was my first time hearing about this place, and oh my god I'm so glad I did. I fell in love coming in, between the nice smells and the cute doggies I fell! I had a couple beers that tbh I don't even remember the names, but I was in love! I was able to bring my dog I was sitting, and he had the best time! I really love the atmosphere and how comfortable it was. I mean I lost at corn joke, but my parents still think I'm a winner! (LOL). Everyone who worked there was so interactive and friendly. I often feel a bit awkward at breweries at first, but I felt at home here! For sure try them! I'll be back for sure many times with many more pups! (Btw the employees even gave out doggie treats and pets. I for sure will be between between the good brews, vibes, and staff. I didn't get a tons of pics because tbh I was having such a good time! Lol. For sure worth going from Norfolk to Chesapeake for!

Yelp
So, I really wanted to give this a few more days to process; but I think this situation has been completely brushed off and it truly upsets me. On Sat night, Nov 20th, a couple friends and myself decided to go to The Garage Brewery for some drinks. As someone who has worked in certain fields and has a general anxiety about people, I am always scanning a room. In the current place of the world, I am always super heightened about anything that could go wrong. As a mother, I am always aware of children; especially in a "bar setting".. I understand they use the term brewery, but it's a bar at that point. A man, and his what looks to be maybe a 5 year old daughter, walk in and it didn't seem like anything other than a dad and his daughter having an evening outing. He greeted people, as I assumed at this point, he was a regular. She skipped around and talked to folks as if she knew them too. I didn't think much of it... there was a pizza truck outside and I went to order. The pizza truck guy was walking around, looking for the man who ordered this pizza. He also had this 5 year old, with her father no where in site. Come to find out, this father ordered a pizza, gave this 5 year old the buzzer and told her to wait with the pizza truck guy. It was easily 40 or less degrees outside, she is a freaking 5 year old and HE LEFT HER WITH A STRANGER! So after about 5+ mins of watching this guy walk around with this little girl, my super overprotective mom mode jumps in to play. I asked the man if he knew the dad or little girl and he responds, "No, he just left her here and I can't find him anywhere.." So I proceed to take her inside to get warm and let the bartender know, "Hey, this guy ditched his daughter and is no where to be found!" She then asked her if her dad's name was whatever, and they she knows the man. Finally, after about 10+ mins of looking for the father, he walks up from the apartment complex behind the brewery, WITH AN EMPLOYEE of the brewery, and they are blasted. I get that smoking weed is legal in VA, but this was absurd. The pizza guy even confronted him and he stated, 'It's all good man." And winked at the pizza truck guy to brush it off. All while not being able to even stand straight. I asked the girl he walked up with if she was his girlfriend, because I was going to ream into her for being so stupid that they would leave a young child there to get high. I complained to management and thought it was handled. I messaged the owner the next day because it just didn't sit well with me. The whole thing made me feel very uneasy and I felt like I needed to do more. The response I got back was repulsive. The owner was telling me the employee felt so bad, and how I must have felt. NO LADY.. You do not get to tell me how I must have felt. You have a responsibility to the public as a "family friendly establishment" ... THIS IS NOT FAMILY FRIENDLY. This man had clearly had to much, but since he is a regular, who cares right? Wrong. She also told me that she was made aware that the child was left in the car, WRONG. Her employee was very out of line and she completely discarded what really happened. I have multiple witnesses by the way. At that point I felt like I needed to calm down before I was going to rage on the owner and her lack of compassion for a very sensitive situation. This "parent" needs to not be served or allowed to have his child there. Meanwhile, I let them know twice about a situation and she accidentally text me, instead of her employee about another incident that occurred as well. Stating that I seemed to really be concentrating on this one comment this completely irresponsible employee made.. NO MAAM, what I am really focused on is the fact that your employee is so comfortable with letting a grown man abandon his daughter to go get high with your employee. Even off the clock they make you look REALLY BAD... AND THEN, you tell me how I must feel and completely disregard the safety fact. Do you know what its like to be raped? Because I do.. Could you imagine what being a 5 year old little girl who is kidnapped, sold and raped could feel like? No.. This isn't the first time this man and his child has been there. Your employees confirmed that. I do plan on seeing this through, in any way possible. I am sure this employee is just loving being back at the bar and hanging out like nothing ever happened.. But I will make sure that myself or anyone I can reach, never come either again either. Because this IS NOT a safe place for small children.

Woman-owned local brewery . Chill environment. Great beer always. My bestie and I come here to grab a Boss Lady or 5!
