Google
Loved this place, gave me a cozy vibe. Food was from spoons and the drinks came fast. Great experience.

Google
Great small place. Had a speak easy type of feel. Tucked away behind a diner and across from a bustling pizza joint. All of the food was delicious. Breakfast all day was a nice touch. We enjoyed a few bottles of nice wine and was a great start to our evening. Will be back for sure. Queso meat was weird and the French toast crust was hard. Seemed like a slap together meal

Stopped in for a first visit to take advantage of happy hour. My husband and I were very impressed with their awesome chicken nachos appetizer. It honestly filled us up way more than we intended before our entrees. I got the country fried steak, okra, mashed taters, and he got the club sandwich with fries. To me, the country fried steak lacked flavor/salt but the portion was huge and very filling; the okra was fantastic as were the fries. And my husband was happy with his club and old fashioned drink. We will definitely be back! :)

Google
The Spoon was to capacity so we went around the corner to The Garage. Super cool surroundings. Great service and yummy 3 color nachos!!! The Garage door was open for nice, fresh air!!!

Google
Located behind Spoons. First time and will return again. Staff was nice. Food is good and from Spoons. We were a bit confused when we first received the menus. Good coffee and beer. Outdoor seating and large garage door opening to allow fresh air inside of restaurant. The chicken fried chicken was delicious and better than expected.

Google
Liked their decor more than the food. A mild sewer smell the whole time when we were there, hopefully not an ongoing issue. It seemed The Garage belonged to Spoon's Cafe as seen from receipt? It's unlikely we'd return.

Google
Small restaurant that is an extension of spoons cafe. Better for breakfast lunch or dinner away sans kiddo’s. Their bloody Mary’s are good. Fish tacos are dry however the baked spaghetti is delicious.

Google
Cozy little bar just of the McKinney square. It has little cozy nooks, and a very friendly staff. Bar is very clean as is the single bathroom. Food is from Spoons restaurant upstairs which as excellent food. Prices are very reasonable, drink selection is great. Only downside is the limited parking around the McKinney square. Highly recommend.

Yelp
McKinney Texas has SO much personality, and each place I have eaten here has been SO good. The Garage fits right in with that same theme for me. Quaint restaurant that has the feel of an old garage inside, and great tasting food! I had the grilled chicken sandwich with their honey mustard sauce - sooooo good! With a side Caesar salad and they make their own croutons - another winner! We topped our meal off with Strawberry cake - I was not disappointed! The waiter, Kenneth, was very personable and made great recommendations. He was on top of it all too. You know how some places the wirier doesn't have enough time for you - or they over serve you. Not here. The whole expletive was just right. Ana there is an air of relaxing/enjoying yourself in this place. I judge places by this question - will I come back, and the answer is YES!

Yelp
The Garage is on the backside of Spoons Cafe, owned by the same folks, and shares the same menu as Spoons. The most exciting part of that for me is that once I knew that, I KNEW the food would be great! The Garage ambiance is just what you would expect, a converted garage with roll-up doors and about 20 tables if you include the patio. Just like it's the food is the same great great food, the service is the same great service (and same great servers). Kenneth took great care of us. I ordered the Low Rider Sandwich. It was a grilled chicken sandwich with cheese and house made pesto sauce. It hit the spot! This restaurant is a repeater for me, so give them a try!

Yelp
Food - burger was tasty. That was the only thing good. The shredded chicken casserole was similar to Black-Eyed Pea but lacking richness and salt. Breakfast TacoS was only a SINGLE taco, although the size of a burrito. The "taco" was mediocre. Service - was mostly friendly but she must have been a bit too busy. Weren't given enough attention for refills or small checkups. Ambiance - Fun, comfortable and no frills place with a personal/intimate setting.

Yelp
Came here for a late lunch and cocktails! For my cocktail I went with the New Fashion and that was a 10/10. Full of flavors that worked well together and I will definitely order it again. My husband and I decided to spot the BLT with sweet potatoes fries and he got a side salad as well. The BLT was ok. Nothing to write home about but the sweet potato fries were the star of the show.

Yelp
Came for drinks, mine was called something like moon over Paris. It was thick puree. It seemed like it should have been an addition to a drink, like a mixer, not the drink itself. It was pretty disgusting, felt like they should have paid me to drink it. My husband got a lemonade sort of drink and it tasted like straight sugar. If you are looking for nice cocktails, this is not the place.

Yelp
We got breakfast at The Garage but my friends told me that The Garage was just an extension of Spoons Cafe (since the cafe was full), so I'm leaving a review for here! After trying to get seats at Spoons, they routed us to sit at The Garage. We had a group of five and were seated in a booth. The service was pretty speedy and was nice but not really friendly. I think they might've just been swamped, or maybe that was just our servers demeanor? We were all pretty hungry and getting ready for a day before the wedding we had to attend at night so we each got a good meal before the start of our day. I got the Breakfast Sandwich with a side of cottage potatoes (which it came with). This was super filling and good. I loved how they have it available in half portion, in case you don't want the full sandwich. The food was pretty filling and we were in and out within an hour.

Yelp
Fun, cozy adults only diner connected to Spoons Cafe in quaint downtown McKinney. Giid food, good drinks and always a good time.
google avatar

Alynna W.

Yelp
We loved this place! Food, atmosphere, service, it was all amazing. It's a casual environment the food is top tier. If you're a car lover, you will appreciate every attention to detail at Fords. My family and I will be back, no question.
google avatar

Shannon W.

Yelp
Had brunch here the other day and it was so good! Our waiter was so nice to us, too. I highly recommend if you're in the area - they have indoor and outdoor seating which is a bonus!
google avatar

Stephanie C.

Yelp
Wanted to like this place but didn't like that my cocktail drink was literally taken out of a fridge (pre-made) and was super sweet, I had the midnight in Paris. Service wasn't the best and not a good experience, won't be coming back.
google avatar

Scott E.

Yelp
The Garage is a small diner just off the square. It shared a menu with the diner on the square, which tends to be more crowded. The food was very tasty. I had the blue cheese bacon burger. I suspect they make their own buns, because it was tasty and fresh. The burger was tasty as well. The pasta salad is made in house and it had a lot of flavor. My wife had the vegetarian omelette and loved it! She said it was well-balanced and flavorful. The side of potatoes looked especially delicious! Our server was being run pretty hard, but she did a good job of keeping her cool and staying very professional. I appreciated her because you could see how hard she was running! Cute place, good food, fair prices!
google avatar

Rose D.

Yelp
Every time I think I understand how this place works I am proven wrong. Service is terrible, they'll leave you alone forever without ever even asking what you want to drink. Food is fine but that's more a credit to spoons honestly you'd be better at just slugging it out at Spoons.
google avatar

Nancy B.

Yelp
Had a private birthday party here at end of June. Everything went off without a hitch. Great food and service! The Garage staff took special care of my guests and food was served to all 35 with consistency and care- all was excellent!
google avatar

Judy I.

Yelp
Great spot for lunch. Much quieter than Spoons cafe and you order of their menu. Adults only as it's a bar. We had great service. It's locate around the corner from spoons with a separate entrance. Food was delicious and will definitely come again.
google avatar

Yelp
We were in the mood for sand and soup and it was a beautiful fall day to head to Historic Downtown McKinney. We had eaten several times at Spoons and always enjoyed the food. There was a line for tables and the hostess directed us around the corner to The Garage. We had no idea they were connected! This "adult" side of the restaurant has a full bar and indoor/outdoor seating. My husband had his tomato soup and I had my favorite club sandwich with fries. (The shape of the fries somehow made them taste even yummier!) Hamburgers are good here too. Friendly service and lots of smiles. Highly recommend! Y'all make a note of this McKinney favorite and stop by!
google avatar

Steve S.

Yelp
Perfect little industrial chic joint for diner food and drinks (there is a bar!)- I prefer it to the original diner space on the corner that shares the same menu. My diabetic friend and I ate here for lunch, and all was solid except that our waitress gave us sweet tea after we asked for unsweet, not a good thing for a diabetic old geezer. After righting that wrong, we thoroughly enjoyed our chicken fried steak lunches with pristine, perfectly prepared green beans and sauteed veggies.
google avatar

Yelp
Good house cocktails and down-home cooking in a historic building off the McKinney square! They share the Spoon kitchen, so the appetizer and food offerings are WAY more elaborate that you might expect from a small bar. Nice to sit snd enjoy drinks while snacking on the Garage Board! Cool vibe in the old building; def worth a trip to check it out! The owner was friendly and helpful, although they needed another server. We will go back and update this review, because all restaurants are struggling to juggle staff-expenses vs. the reduced customer demands of the current reduced capacity virus guidelines.

Yelp
We came here randomly for Sunday brunch and it was such a good experience ! I would definitely be back . The vibes are perfect. Their drinks and food were good and their servers are in good spirits . For drinks, we had the fender bender ( that is dangerous let me tell you lol ! But so good ) and I had the vegetarian Migas - which were perfect - not too filling, but just right . From what I understand it's also adults only , so it's great to get together with the friends or go on a date . :)

Yelp
We love being able to enjoy drinks in a kid free zone. Our server was great (Joshua)the drinks were beautiful and the pie was delicious. They designed the small space perfectly with a bar, tall and short tables and a cute bathroom too.

Yelp
Hip Hiphooray! This is an amazing addition to Downtown McKinney! First off, it is an 18 and up restaurant. Please, don't yell at the wait staff when they tell you it's 18 and up and that you can't bring children inside. We unfortunately have heard many stories about people being rude to the servers because children are not allowed anymore. Yes, The Garage use to be Spoons overflow, now it is an adults only restaurant. Yes, I have children, but I treasure the date nights I get with my husband. This is a great place to have meaningful conversations and reconnect after a hectic work week. I was so excited about this spot being renovated and such a smart use of space because there is nothing like it downtown. The inside of The Garage is Chic and a great date spot with some outside seating as well. The service was wonderful. Every time we have been the servers were attentive and extremely knowledgeable about the menu. The menu is the Spoon's menu, so you get amazing food with no screaming babies or children running around. Some of our favorites are the chicken and waffles (try it with their homemade chili) , chicken fried steak, and king ranch casserole. Just to give you an example of what a great idea this place is...last Saturday we had friends in from out of town. We wanted to show them how quant and beautiful Mckinney is to us. The Garage was a great way to start our day. We had an amazing breakfast and then were able to explore the downtown area after fueling up. Thanks, for giving my hubby and myself a great place to get away to without our kids!

Yelp
This place is related to Spoons and is around the corner from it. It has a totally different vibe but you can get anything from the Spoons menu there. Wife and I went three and had great coffee and breakfast. While, crowded it is much less "busy" feeling than Spoons. We look forward to going back soon.

Yelp
Mark my words: this is the hottest new place to hit Downtown McKinney in awhile. Sure there are restaurants and bars in the area that will do cocktails, but NOT like this. Will, the bar manager and mixologist supreme, is whipping up some of the best damn cocktails you'll ever have. Try the Rusty Fizz; you won't regret it! The venue provides a mature and classy place to chill and get a drink; whether the weather be cold or whether the weather be hot! And every now and again they'll get a DJ or band to come in and play to spice up the joint. I was here for their "Grand Opening" and DJ Maniac had the place on fire! Keep an eye on their Facebook and Instagram for special event announcements. Will also rotates out the drink menu by season and can also whip up something special: just give him a spirit or drink you like and he'll show you something UH-MAZING! If you're hungry, you can also still get small bites and eats from the neighboring restaurant Spoons, as they are owned by the same people. Fun fact, the Garage actually used to be a small back room for Spoons where overflow or large parties were placed. This is a HUGE improvement over that though!

Yelp
Cool little place just off the square. We chose to eat outside, it was shaded and cool enough to be comfortable. We got to people watch while we enjoyed our lunch. My wife had the chicken salad plate and I had the enchilada plate. Both were delicious! The service was great and attentive at just the right times.
google avatar

Yelp
The Garage was a pleasant surprise. I expected "Grease" but I got laid-back-hipster. The music has a relaxed vibe, the aesthetic is pleasing, simple yet classically stylistic. I didn't have any of the food but I had an old fashion. The bartender, Brett, asked if I wanted it sweetened or not. I declined. It was, hands down, one of the best old fashions I have ever had. I complimented the bar tender and he said 'when it comes to classic cocktails, simplicity is the ultimate form of sophistication', and it truly is. Their house cocktail menu offers originality and fresh ingredients. I can't wait to come back and experience more of what The Garage has to offer.

Yelp
Wanted to like it. First time we didn't realize kids weren't allowed, so we tried another time sans kid. It looked cool in the photos. Got there and a table was mostly cleaned for us as there was still crumb city left behind. Cocktail list has a lot of sweet drinks and vodka based things. Food from the Spoons kitchen next door is very basic, sandwiches, paninis, etc. Wife had the eggs Benedict that was made with lunch meat slices like you'd get from a package. I had the adult grilled cheese sandwich. Not much going on, a dab of pesto, at least on one half of it. Wife's wine glass had major lipstick leftovers on the glass that had to be sent back. Uses plastic plates, guessing shared from diner next door. Not going to bother trying this again with better options around.

Yelp
Love this place! Went today, the drinks are amazing, the people are super friendly, and the overall vibe is perfect! We will definitely be returning for some amazing cocktails.

Nick S.

Yelp
The manager was awesome. great service. drinks were really good. we just had an appetizer and it was good as well. I would def come back

Yelp
Came on a date stayed for the atmosphere, craft drinks and staff. Who knew Garland had a treasure such as this. Will visit a multitude moving forward. Again THE STAFF WAS AMAZING and the gmsiggestions were great.
google avatar

Amy D.

Yelp
Love the kids free zone but this past year has been a downward slide. No staff stays on. Maybe the best thing is Tara the bartender and the honesty of the new waitstaff. Not that Karen will keep them. Not sure if I am too needy but they need help. We had a few issues and even though Karen there she never came to us or greet anyone. Karen, Spoons is great stick with that or manage The Garage properly.

Yelp
Nice staff & even though with social distancing, appears limited tables inside & out. But drinks were good & enjoyed the laid back atmosphere!
google avatar

Yelp
The best plate of nachos I have ever had. We ordered a plate. And then finished it. And then ordered another. Chefs finger kiss. UPDATE: we just ate the second plate. Even more delicious than the last. GIVE THESE FOLKS AN AWARD!!!!! The drinks are really strong too.
google avatar

Catrina-Robert J.

Yelp
Found this little comfort food place and it did not disappoint. Old school frito pie and old fashioned burger was just what we needed for a quick meal before movie. Atmosphere was cute and waitress was very nice. The food came out very fast and hot

DeAnne M.

Yelp
Cocktails rivaled other busier downtown restaurants and the guacamole was great too. Will definitely be back soon.
google avatar

Christy A.

Yelp
What a hidden gem! I was here watching my son in a soccer tournament and had a few hours to kill. I was cold and hungry and wanted to go somewhere unique. I checked yelp and decided to take a chance with a new place. It was awesome and the atmosphere and service was second to none. Bryson (the bartender) was very cool and went the extra mile for each customer. I had to take these pictures because their yelp review needed better pictures. Check out their Instagram @thegaragemckinney for more info and great photos.

Yelp
The most unenjoyable restaurant experience we have had in a long time. We visited at 5:00-ish on a Saturday, were ignored for 10 minutes after being seated. Our server would have been hard pressed to be less enthusiastic once he arrived. My husband left half of his breakfast food plate uneaten and that almost never happens. Grilled cheese sandwich, fries and red blend wine were just passable. The atmosphere was very odd. A large party was told they could come but it would be preferable if they returned at 7. Then a couple wanted to sit down but they were warned they would have to leave at 7:00 for the large party. Numerous groups crossed the street from the busy pizza place, looked around, and left. They were wise.

Yelp
This place is super cool & their bar mix is amazing!!!! Great for drinks, snacking, & chill-laxing! If you walk by make sure you stop by!! Will is a great bartender & will take excellent care of you. A must see & ex

Yelp
Great place, the food was great and the drinks were great as well. I would definitely recommend and come back if I'm in the McKinney area.

Andrea E.

Yelp
My hubby and I love the Garage. We go quite often. The food is great, but the staff is what makes it the best. Johnny and Bryson are on top of things! They are both super friendly and always remember our drink order. These guys work really hard providing excellent service.
google avatar

Tammy C.

Yelp
Love it and the all adult bar atmosphere but they close so early. 8-9pm on the weekend is way too early for this venue. If you need to reduce hours then open later.

Danell W.

Yelp
Our table ordered hot dogs, a panini, a burger, fries, fried pickles, pasta salad and mac and cheese. Excellent service, food and cocktails.

Linda R.

Yelp
Arrived for an early weekend brunch at Spoons, and the main dining room was crowded, loud, and full of kids.  The hostess directed Hubby and I around the corner to the Garage area for adults.  While the atmosphere was low-key and quite... bar area with dining tables, the service and food were terrible.  The coffee was burnt and bitter.  My Eggs Benedict was overcooked with hardboiled eggs topped with a tasteless sauce.  Hubby said his Huevos Rancheros were ok.

Kath Q.

Yelp
I don't know if this was a really bad day or normal but the service was non existent. We watched couple after couple leave after waiting 15 mins plus to order a drink. Only reason we didn't is that we didn't know the area. 15 mins to order a drink, 15 mins to get a drink. Wtf there is like 10 tabors and 5 people working. No, I'm sorry. Finally when I had to ask for a pen to sign my check it was thrown at me. The food was so gross to. I got pimento cheese and the celery was murdered and it looked like a kid stuck crackers in it. Kinda ruined my evening.
google avatar

Jill G.

Yelp
If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Just walked in to grab some lunch, and since they're full due to COVID, the waiter told me they were "maxed out" with no options for a wait or apology. Will not be back.

Leslie V.

Yelp
Looooooveeee the vibe. Came here on a Saturday night - first attempt was spoons but this place serves the same food and well crafted drinks. First time trying Frito Pie and it was good (although it was a little on the salty side - I blame the Fritos not the chili). Friends at my table did have fried okra and grown up grilled cheese that are next on my try list. Drinks and a diner vibe at a reasonable price.
google avatar

Kaley C.

Yelp
The drinks and atmosphere is nice. Service is slow and unorganized. Food is overpriced and the crispy fries are awful - paper thin with no taste. "Sliders" are just one tiny burger.
google avatar

Janice F.

Yelp
The cocktails were all fantastic. I had three different ones and enjoyed them all. The flavors and colors were rich and the spirits top shelf. Great mixologists.

Laura L.

Yelp
Great little spot. Really extensive menu. Will pull from Spoons menu too. Drinks are good. We enjoy sitting outside and catching friends as they walk by!

Rob R.

Yelp
Third time here and not diappointed any time. Brett the bartender has come up aces with drinks, service, and great music and vibes every time. Served our dinner by rookie Darcy who was outgoing, considerate, and very friendly. Food is a 4-4.5. We had salads w grilled chicken, burgers, fries, onkra, and chili. All solid. Sedvice is a 5 out of 5. Beverages are a 5 out of 5. Music was varied, interesting, fun, and perfect for the more casual scene. If you havent been, youre missing out on this McKinney Gem.
google avatar

Claire M.

Yelp
Terrible service, god awful food at an over priced rate. Only go if you want to park yourself for a rest
