The Garden City Hotel

We hosted our parents' 50th Anniversary Lunch for 25 at the Red Salt Room. It was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The valet parking was essential for the crowd. The room is on the main lobby area (no stairs) and the food was fantastic. Most of all the service and staff were unbelievable. From the first call to the last guest that left, the staff was so good to our family. I highly recommend!

I came here for a getaway for the weekend and my expectations were blown away. The hotel was luxurious and the service was impeccable. Me and wife's needs were always met by the warm and friendly staff. We arrived to the room to delicious desserts and drinks and instantly felt like home. The hotel was very clean on all floors and around all the halls. Our room on the top floor was tremendous. The amount of space in the suites makes staying here with many belongings super easy! And the views from the top.....breathtaking. Excellence of the rooms notwithstanding, The Garden City Hotel also has fabulous amenities. The gym is very clean and easy to access. There was an indoor pool and a spa right next to the gym, a perfect way to relax after a hotel workout. Downstairs, world class restaurants will make you not want to leave! Seriously, everything you need is inside this city of a hotel! We can't wait to come back.

Our family tradition of attending the Breakfast with Santa continues to impress, and this year, it outdid itself! We were greeted by a lively group of elves singing carols. The decorations throughout the hotel are beautiful. The buffet offerings are delicious and caters to everyone’s tastes. The staff is always exceptional here and full of holiday cheer. This year, the surprise appearance of the Grinch was hysterical! Definitely a standout moment, bringing laughter and excitement to the crowd. With fun activities for the kids and the chance to snap photos with Santa, this event offers incredible value. Thank you for another great time. We’ll be back next year!

Great location for concert at UBS arena. The train station is right across a non busy street and only about a 10 minute train ride. The hotel has a very classic and upscale vibe. Service is top notch and friendly. The room was clean and had everything we needed including a fridge and keurig. The pool is small but clean and the water was incredibly warm. If going to UBS arena and looking for somewhere to stay don’t think twice, book here.

Staff and facilities are excellent. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The room was very comfortable and clean. The meals and service (dinner and breakfast) were excellent. We celebrated our wedding anniversary (we got married at the Garden City Hotel) and a birthday. It couldn't have been more special. Thanks Garden City Hotel.

Attended a gala event there and the food and service were amazing! The salmon melted in my mouth. The room was exquisite. I love it when there is a warm bathrobe and slippers to keep me cozy and warm. Staff was courteous and professional. I just wished I could have stayed longer.

Had the most amazing stay! Was there for only a few days (a little mini-moon after my wedding) but I'd love to come back. My husband and I checked in at 3 AM right after our wedding ended and Marissa at the front desk welcomed us with a warm smile and gave us all the information we needed to get situated. When we got to the room, we were absolutely surprised to see a bottle of champagne along with chocolate covered strawberries and other pastries waiting for us along with a very cute note! There were also rose petals made into a shape of a heart on the bed and towels folded into swans. It was such a nice touch, they really pay attention to detail! The rooms on the club floor are absolutely amazing, we need to come back when its warm enough to enjoy the huge balcony/patio. When you book at the club floor level, you get access to the lounge - we stopped by frequently for desserts, granola bars, snacks, coffee, soda, etc. Everything was *superbly clean*, which is what matters to me the most in any hotel I stay at. I also enjoyed how quiet it was - you don't hear your neighbors, you don't hear loud noises in the hall, it was perfect. The amenities were just what we needed to relax. Room service came very quickly for dinner and the food itself was amazing, the oysters tasted so fresh and presentation of everything was beautiful. The pool was my favorite part of our stay; it was sparkling clean and the perfect temperature for escaping the cold November air. Usually at hotels the indoor pools smell of chlorine which makes my eyes burn, but this pool was not like that at all, my eyes felt perfectly fine and we couldn't even smell any chlorine. My husband had a great workout at the gym, he was very satisfied with the machines and equipment. Location is also a huge plus, plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby, although the food is so good at the hotel I don't think you'll want to go anywhere else. More importantly, the LIRR is right there if you want a deeper excursion into Manhattan. All in all, we would definitely come back here, my husband says he's ready to move in haha

I want to say that we come here often and every time we have a great time! I used to be a hotel manager for 20 years and I look for little things. We checked in on Friday the 14th we were checked in by Anthony who worked at the front desk. He did with any great employee would do and he up sold our room to the penthouse With the two beds and two bathroom bathrooms and a fireplace! We love the room by the way I will definitely get the room the next time we come! As a former manager, I know how important it is for our employees up sell our rooms! Lucas is also an amazing guy who saw us walking in and took our stuff up there for us. He also said that if we need anything during our state to let him know that he’s here during the certain hours and that he would take care of anything we needed. Even when we were leaving for the day to go to either dinner or out shopping, he would see us, and he would remember our names and shake our hands. He would also welcome us back to the hotel as did the other staff when we returned! The service here is top-notch and is worth every penny. The restaurant as well I have to mention that the food is always amazing as well! I love the Spanish octopus and the Cobb salad. ! Great job to the staff Are the Garden city hotel!

The Garden City hotel is decorated beautifully for the holidays. We enjoyed a brunch recently and everything was fabulous from the food to the service. Our server, JC, was attentive from beginning to end. If you are looking for a special place to celebrate or share a delicious meal, this is the place for you.

If you love this time of the year, and have not yet been to The Garden City Hotel, you are missing out. I was there on December 8th for a beautiful brunch. Everything was just so nice. From the valet parker, to the very pleasant doorman who held the door that opened into a wonderful holiday decorated atmosphere. I walked in and immediately felt warm and special. The food was DELICIOUS - so many choices and everything was really really good!! The staff was very pleasant - they certainly made the experience even better. I have done this every year and it seems to get better each time. Give yourself this gift if you can, it is really a wonderful experience.

Replying to the business owner: I appreciate your response. 1) the $100 extra per night is referring to the amount EXTRA that I paid for the room charge alone: $300 was the base rate, when I checked out I was charged $150 per night rather than the $350 total that was agreed upon during check in. $450 - $350 = $100. I am referring to the rate of the room not a hold on my card. 2) as I already said, i appreciated the effort to get me into the room early. As I also mentioned, I gave advance notice of my early arrival by calling ahead. I travel frequently and have no problem changing the hotel if this is not something that can be accommodated. Your staff made it sound like there would be no issue that I would be able to arrive and enter my room. If there was any question in my mind, I would've booked elsewhere. I was exhausted and still ended up waiting 2 hours past my arrival to get into a room. So yes, thanks for getting me in earlier than 4pm. I understand it can be a difficult thing to accommodate. I completely understand all of the policies you laid out and totally understand it can be a big ask which is why I reached out ahead of time. It's the communication from the staff that was a disappointment. 3) To reiterate, the attempts to charge me $350 extra per night (on top of the original $300) by both the staff member who checked me in AND the person who printed my folio when I left were really disappointing. I am thankful that that was adjusted and refunded - please note that was AFTER two attempts to overcharge me where I had to advocate for myself and a long conversation with an associate who had me LEAVE THE HOTEL paying $450 a night. Again - the fact you refunded me is great. I am disappointed in both the attitudes from your staff and that they attempted to overcharge me in the first place. I shouldn't need to go to this extent to ensure your business operates responsibly and honestly. I completely understand your policies and appreciate your response. I urge you to outline your procedures more clearly with your staff, especially the upcharge policy as I got conflicting information from all three associates on what rate I was to be charged.

Check in was a fiasco. The room type that was reserved and paid for was not available. We were there to attend a wedding . The wedding itself was a huge let down. The service was disorganized. The food was scare and lacking in flavor. The trays were not replenished at the cocktail hour. The amount of pasta offered in these huge bowls was laughable . I never saw a spoon of sauce at the bottom of a bowl and a few pieces of pasta placed on top. Filet mignon was tough. one temperature was available: rare. Overall shocked at the quality and service . Staff had no clue as to the post wedding brunch. No clue as to much. Many welcome bags were never given to guests . For a luxury hotel, it was anything but luxurious. The best part of the evening was the welcome given by the hotel staff at the entry door who were opening car doors and retrieving luggage .

I have never stayed at this hotel but manage to get here a few times a year for various events. The hotel is very easy to access off the main road and along with the valet parking, there is plenty of room to self park next to or access the street. When you walk in to this hotel you are clearly entering a grand five star place. The venue and team here are unparalleled in hospitality. The bar is awesome with over the top-make sure your experience here is the best, bartenders. The same for the "THE RED SALT ROOM BY DAVID BURKE." This is just an amazing restaurant that gives you an awesome experience in conjunction with great food. I have also been to multiple events in their Grand Ballroom. It is always just that... A Grand Ballroom". One thing that always sricks out is how attentive the team is here. It make no difference how many people are in the event, you feel like you have your own concierge. Food is always tasty and fresh. This venue is clearly beautiful oppluance. KUDOs to the team at The Garden City Hotel.

Is there a zero star?? The Garden City hotel has fallen from the gem that it used to be. It used to be our favorite hotel whenever we are in the area. Because of this recent experience I think it will be our last. Here's why -Upon arrival the valets did not meet us outside as customary and there was no door man present. -The room was old and dark seriously needing an update. -The tub was old and rusty all over. The worse was the hair that I found on the shower curtain left there by previous occupants. Yuck! -The people next to us had their TV sooo LOUD preventing us from having a good night sleep. We asked the people at the front desk to ask the people to lower their TV volume, but the next night was still the same. The best part of our trip was when it was time to leave. Never again!!!

The front desk staff and all of the employees that are in the lobby to greet you, open the door l, take your luggage or assist you in anyway.., they are all nothing short of amazing. Very accommodating and helpful. I had a last minute change for my room and dates and they quickly accommodated without hesitation. After hours, they even made sure I was able to purchase snacks and things I needed for the room. The room was clean and very lux feeling. Gives you total manhattan vibes for the 4 and 5 star hotels. Definitely worth it.

I went for Brunch last Sunday. The service and food was wonderful . The ambience was beautiful!

We did a 20 lady brunch there for a Christmas celebration. I can't say enough about our experience. The restaurant is beautiful, and the food is outstanding. Chefs visited tables asking if everything was to our liking. The buffet is abundant. Everything made on sight. JC was our waiter and he was so personable and couldn't do enough for us. Highly recommend for an upscale experience!

Love their Sunday Brunch! The choices were amazing..the lobster tails and shrimp cocktail so fresh and delish! I loved my server JC! He was so kind and attentive! Highly recommend and the decor makes it feel extra special especially during the holidays!

I have stayed at this hotel no less than 20 times between 2018 & 2020, mostly for 2-3 night stays. I love the Preferred Hotels and Resorts portfolio and have stayed at many of their independent hotels and resorts all over the world. This hotel was my staycation hotel of choice and ultimately, it was also where my now husband chose to propose. The issues and service failures that we encountered during our last stay and then the subsequent response from hotel management when we reached out to share our disappointment, ensured that that stay was our last. The hotel was so smug in their disrespectful and defensive response to us that three different hotel personnel sent it to me on three separate days. I could go into more detail but I don't want to trigger another carefully worded snarky rebuttal from the hotel (if you read the responses to other negative reviews you'll understand).

This hotel is supposed to be 4 stars well I must tell you that their customer service/booking department is not even 1 star! My daughter and I were supposed to stay at the hotel this weekend to attend my nieces baby shower. Unfortunately my daughter came down with Covid and I was feeling sick as well. My daughter paid this hotel nearly $1000 for nothing!! I can see the hotel not issuing a refund but They refused to give her a credit towards another visit as her reservation was non refundable!! My daughter not being that experienced at booking hotels chose this option. I find this customer service to be unacceptable!! Beware of this hotel practices! I also saw other reviews to indicate the same problem!!

I'd been hearing good things about this place. Either the hotel or the restaurant/bar. For tonight, my review is for it's grand ballroom. I came tonight as a reply to an invitation by American Heart Association Long Island chapter. Our company has been good sponsor for 2021 so we represent for the thank you gala. Beautiful hotel outside. Manicured lawn. The landscaping is phenomenal. Valet parking but there is free parking on the street after 6 pm. We went inside the hotel lobby and asked the venue for the event. We were directed to the main ballroom. Beautiful decors are the first thing I have noticed when we walked in. Nice chandeliers. Great lighting. Huge ballroom. The food setting is cocktail style . Plenty of options. Unlimited drinks in the bar. Great staff. It's a perfect venue for an event. Glad that I came in today to justify what my friends were saying. Location is close to LIRR.

​​I'm so thankful to Garden City Hotel! They were one of the only hotels available last minute during a recent NYC flooding, and after spending a whole day in the airport (with another whole day to go before my [finally rescheduled] flight), I didn't realize what a huge emotional and mental health boost this place would provide me. I arrived feeling/looking not my best and I thought, "ohhh, this place is way too fancy for leggings, a sweatshirt, and messy blue hair," but every single person greeted me warmly like I was actually welcome there. I asked the person at reception if there was a dress code to eat in the restaurant, and when she chuckled and said no, I felt immediately at ease (though the website says otherwise, so heads-up there!). I was allowed a later check-out without question. There was water in my room; and, they gave me more water when I asked for it. The linens and towels were fluffy and smelled good. The room was enormous. The in-room Keurig was clean and had plenty of coffee/tea options. The plush pillow-top bed was gigantic and easily one of the top three most comfortable ones I've ever stayed in at a hotel/AirBnB/B&B. The shower was luxurious with hot water and good pressure, and the wonderful Gilchrist & Soames amenities felt spa-like. Honestly, the whole experience felt INDULGENT. I shopped at their gourmet lobby marketplace; such an impressive selection of snacks (including plenty of vegan options), coffee, booze, baked goods, and more to take to your room. I ate at the King Bar (not a lot of vegan options there, unfortunately). No one seemed bothered that, after checking out, I sat in one of the wingback chairs in the lobby with an iced coffee for a couple hours before calling an Uber back to the airport. My first impression? I thoroughly enjoyed everything about this hotel - the atmosphere, the interactions and engagement with each staff member, the room itself. I'm not sure I'm necessarily their demographic, but I got to feel pampered and bougie (I mean that in THE BEST way possible) for a night, and don't we all deserve that from time to time (especially when the other option was 30+ hours in an airport)?

While I was staying at the Garden City Hotel, I had a towel that had dried red stains on it. I notified the front desk to let them know. I WAS NOT requesting RESTITUTION or COMPENSATION of ANY KIND for this disgusting issue. I told them that I just thought they should know about the issue. I also told them that it was absolutely NOT MY blood, because I was not bleeding anywhere. Keep in mind, this substance was dry, because I checked before notifying the front desk. I sent these pictures, in an email, to the head of housekeeping at the front desk's & housekeeping's request. I received an email back stating that they determined that it was fresh blood. In other words, they called me a liar for pointing out the issue and implied it was MY blood, even though that was impossible. I did not have a scratch ANYWHERE on my person. The towel was mysteriously gone from my room when I returned back to my room even though I left it on the end of the bed and not in the bathroom for pick up. I am completely insulted that they basically called me a liar and I will never stay here ever again!

AVOID - RUDE STAFF & UNEXPECTED ADDITIONAL CHARGES It's shame that l'm having to leave this review as l previously stayed at this hotel with no issues but l will not return to the premises. Upon checking out (1 hour after checkout time) - l was informed by an extremely rude staff member that l was being charged a late checkout fee of 100 dollars (plus tax). Quite incredible right?!? The hotel fee for the previous night was 260 dollars & they have the cheek to charge 100 dollars for an hour after the time. Upon raising the obvious complaint, the staff member spoke to me in a disrespectful manner, even laughing at my expense. l will be raising the issue with by credit card company. If you want to be hit with ridiculous fees & be treated like a child then this is the place for you.

These pictures were taken immediately getting to the room after check in. We were excited to stay here for the weekend for a big family event and very disappointed with the experience. We had a poor experience at check in, as well as when requesting additional housekeeping. The staff that did stand out was the valet team who were positive and helpful. I was really surprised this was such a negative experience and won't be recommending this hotel for others.

Had an amazing Sunday bunch there. The atmosphere and ambience were fabulous! Outstanding selection of foods both hot and cold. Delicious desserts. I highly recommend this restaurant. Plus the services at the spa was excellent.

I enjoyed the GCH Sunday Brunch ever so much. Our server was outstanding (I wish I could remember his name, but I do remember he is a Pre-Med student). The large food buffet included the best of the best, too much to list. I'm very happy my husband finally took me, it was a much awaited for treat and I plan on returning!

We had an amazing dining experience at the Garden City Hotel! We went to the King Bar for dinner and I could not stop talking about the food. I got the Cacio e Pepe, my boyfriend got the Wagyu Filet Mignon, we split the Hanging Bacon, Brussel Sprouts, Carrots and the amazing Maple Crème Brûlée All the food was delicious! The service was amazing, everyone was so nice and treated us like royalty! The Hanging Bacon was an experience, with them torching it right in front of you to get all the candied pieces of the bacon to melt! The Cacio e Pepe was filled with seafood and the Parmesan broth was very light. The scallops were cooked to perfection! I loved everything about this dish. I loved everything about this meal! I would recommend eating at the King Bar even if you aren't staying at the hotel!

Overall, a nice stay. Room was spacious and beautiful. However, the room next to us was having a big party at 1:00am and woke us up. Called down to the front desk, they said they were sending up security. 20 minutes go by and my husband had to call, again because they didn't stop. After 15 minutes, the party finally ended. Not sure how security works there but took two calls to quiet the 1:00am party.

Amazing, from the front desk staff to valet to housekeeping they were al great. Food was delicious the manager Andrew was phenomenal and was hospitable. Highly recommend

From March 3-4, 2023, I celebrated my birthday at the Garden City Hotel. This was a special birthday because I recently survived a nearly fatal brain aneurysm. In fact, I almost did not live to see this birthday. I am so glad that I selected the Garden City Hotel for my birthday retreat this year. My dear friend joined me, and we had an exceptional experience. We started the day with a 100-minute signature massage at the Red Hots Spa. Madison was my technician, and she was phenomenal. I have right side sensory loss, and Madison was very attentive to my concerns. I walked out of the massage relaxed and the tension on my right side was alleviated. We then checked in to our spacious hotel room. The staff was extremely friendly, and Gary Matthieu greeted us, provided his card, and told us to not hesitate to share any concerns or requests to the staff. We later had dinner at the restaurant in the lobby. Our oysters were fresh and delicious. Our waiters, Francis and Moe, were outstanding. I ordered the filet and a lobster tail, and the quality of my meal was simply amazing. My favorite restaurant for surf and turf is Bryant & Cooper. I can honestly say that my meal was better than my usual surf and turf meal at Bryant & Cooper. Congratulations to the Chef and his team. Lastly, we had brunch in the morning at the hotel. Our waiters, Vincente and Jose, were also phenomenal. Our coffee cups were never empty, and I tried new things on the brunch menu due to our waiters' suggestions. I am so happy that I decided to celebrate my birthday at the Garden City Hotel. My dear friend also had a great time with me, and it is highly likely that we will be back to celebrate her birthday at the Garden City Hotel in August 2023. Furthermore, as a co-president of a 501(c)3, I plan to recommend to my board that we should use the Garden City hotel as a venue for future fundraisers. The management team and the staff should be commended for their commitment to professionalism and impeccable service. Thank you for the experience and expect many more returns from me, my friends, and my colleagues.

just a fabulous place to stay on LI- lots of choices to eat- visit- close to the city - but still far enough away to relax- bar, restaurants and staff are wonderful and accommodating, we always stay here in NY.

The hotel and staff are very nice , however our room as subpar. The bathroom door didn't close and their were rips in the rug. Not what I was expecting .

The Garden City Hotel is an embarrassment. I've stayed there twice and it was a massive disappointment both times ... absolutely not worth the money. The rooms are stuck in the 80's, the toilets hardly flush and the shower is like someone trickling a hose on your head (they claim it is their eco-friendly shower heads). The only good things about it are its location and the King bar ... other than that, you are wasting your money and will be mad about it, like I am.

I am a luxury travel advisor with Travel Well in association ALTOUR and chose this hotel due to proximity to my mothers' assistant living residence. This place hands down has some of the best staff I have dealt with in a long time. From the first impression at the valet to the bartenders and servers in the restaurants everyone really gets customer service. I would not hesitate one second to recommend this property to anyone needing a nice luxury hotel in Long Island for a vacation, corporate meeting or event like a wedding or birthday celebration. The restaurant are under Chef David Burke and the food is top notch. Special thanks go to Gary M. Manager and john and German bartenders. We had a great time and will be back!

As I told your colleague on the phone, I know the difference between cake batter and mouse, BUT if that's your definition of " mousse" I will definitely never go back and I'm happy to see that being right and saying " the rest of your meal was good" is the low standard you set for your food and your service.

BEWARE!!! Thank goodness this hotel isn't a franchise because this staff was by far the worst staff I have ever encountered. My family runs hotel franchises all across the East coast of America and we have never faced this form of disrespect in our lives. During our stay, the Indian cricket team was staying in the same hotel. We paid $500 a night to stay at this hotel for vacation and we weren't allowed to congregate in the lobby or even walk outside in certain spots because security wouldn't allow it. They only allowed us to use the elevator if we were going back to our room and wouldn't allow us to use the fitness center or pool even while it was open because it was only open to the cricket stars! I talked to a few of the cricketers and even they were saying that the hotel security was being ridiculous and taking their actions further than they should've. One cricketer even confronted them about it. Not only was the staff of the hotel rude, but the cops threatened to arrest us because we were standing in the lobby for too long! Please beware of this hotel and do not give them the business they are hopeful for. This is a ridiculous hotel!!!

Charming, elegant, unique, a true hotel for the stars. I stayed five nights at the Garden City Hotel, and had an incredibly positive experience. The staff is personable, professional, and genuinely cares about how your stay is going. I enjoyed the pool, The Red Salt Room, and frequented the King bar for breakfast, dinner, and cocktails throughout the week. I would highly recommend it to anybody staying in the New York area who wants an elevated hotel experience. Thank you for making my stay so comfortable and enjoyable!

Absolute worst experience. They decided to host a party with a DJ and put me in a room directly above the party ... felt like actually being there from 7pm to midnight, with no accommodation made of any kind. The toilet doesn't flush, the shower barely has pressure and only has hot water sporadically, and room service ends at 9pm! May be a cool place for Prom, do not come here for work travel, stay somewhere else.

If the Mercedes and Porsches parked out front aren't a give away, this place is pretty swank. Came to the restaurant here and was really impressed by how upscale it all was.

Excellent place for a wedding reception! We came here recently for a wedding reception that was rescheduled due to COVID and Garden City Hotel went above and beyond for the happy couple. The room we had was just the right amount of size we needed for both eating and dancing for our group. The food at the cocktail hour was yummy and the manager even brought us our own plate of pigs in blankets. The bartenders were great, wait staff was great, everyone took great care of us. It was nice to feel normal as we come out the other side from this pandemic. Our reception area also had a lovely patio area for the smokers and those who just needed some fresh air from time to time.

Came here for a holiday breakfast with my boss. It was a very classy environment nicely decorated for the holidays. The menue pricing was surprisingly affordable I was kind of expecting outlandish prices but it was appropriately priced. I was disappointed that they didn't have any non pork meat options besides salmon (although I like salmon). I had the croissant sandwich with partakes. The partakes were sautéed with onions and they were well seasoned. My colleague had eggs Benedict and we shared the French toast. The French toast was light and tasty with a blueberry composte on it.

Thanks so much for the lovely stay last week. Everything was top-notch. The wagyu burgers were FANTASTIC!! Special shoutout to Vicente at the King Bar - we enjoyed breakfast (the yogurt was the best I've ever had) and we really enjoyed his friendly conversation...talking with him was one of our many highlights. Clean, comfortable and beautiful! The entire staff took great care of us and everyone was so helpful and professional. We will return.

The best thing about this hotel is valet. The staff is incompetent. The manager could careless. I've lived in NYC for 25 years around the corner from David Burke and this place is an embarrassment. I ordered room service approx before 7pm the first time. The food was brought to me with no eating utensils. So I asked the service attendant if he could bring, he brought back plastic utensils and a very small paper napkin, I asked for a proper napkin he didn't come back so I called RS again, by this time the food was old - then "second" time Jessica came - right away and I specifically asked her was the food she had for me the same from the first time in plastic - Jessica lied through her teeth, the tuna Extremely cold by now, I'm on the phone again - The third time they brought a totally different dish. THIS IS A REAL STORY! I literally had to bring the cart on the elevator through the lobby while the Over RATED manager sat his butt behind a desk that is too small for him. He nonchalantly Tired to gaslight the entire situation - like he was soooooo baffled. The buffet staff seemed to care, about themselves and their work. The OVER RATED manager should be fired, Because what happened to me will happen to you he truly doesn't give two shits. Later that night I saw the manager again acting as if just took an etiquette class towards others they were leaving the hotel. He said nothing, offered nothing instead ignored me. This hotel is an overrated Joke and they lie to protect each other.

I stayed at The Garden City Hotel to attend an awards luncheon recently. And I can't say enough how pleased I was with the professionalism, courtesy and efficiency of the staff. At a time when customer service is deteriorating in practically every arena, it's so satisfying to experience stellar customer service these days. During my stay, there was a snafu with a flower arrangement that was supposed to be delivered to me. The concierge on duty went above and beyond to repair the situation. Additionally, the décor of the hotel was marked with sophistication throughout. The beds and pillows were also ultra comfortable. I plan on returning for a staycation in the near future. I highly recommend this gem for vacationers and business travelers alike.

Nice rooms here. The restaurant buffet was great. We would return. Parking was easy outside. Gym was basic but good.

I LOVE IT HERE!!!! Beautiful clean well-kept classy classical amazing place. Definitely come here with someone you want to impress lol.

This is an elegant old hotel that I have stayed at many times. Last week - hotel bar - closed, restaurant - closed, no valet. Walking to my room I had to navigate between half eaten food trays, garbage and dirty laundry. If you can't provide basic guest services don't open.

I always heard great things growing up In Long Island about the Garden City hotel. I have even had dinner there in the past . I stayed there to have a nice getaway from the city during the quarantine / pandemic time. I was NOT impressed . The hotel is extremely dated . The room was a good size , but again nothing to write home about . The water in the bathroom room Forever to get hot. There were no hand towels . Not enough soap and most times when you called down for guest services no one answered . . The only thing great about this hotel was the customer service other than that I will pass on it .

Arrived at The Garden City Hotel on Thursday, which I now like to call The Garden *hitty hotel. I checked out early due to all the allergies I was having because of the dust. Breakfast was an experience, ordered an Açaí bowl and received yogurt with granola? I recommend taking some time to google what an açaí bowl is. So how can a place so awful be a part of such a beautiful city? As soon as I entered the room and saw the ant crawling on my sheets I should have turned and run. The room was outdated and dirty. The decorative pillow on my bed had white stains all over it...and it was touching the sheets and pillows I sleep on. (See photo). The hot water took 15 minutes to heat up. The toilet was clogged. And the shower was filthy (see photo of soap grime left from last guests and shower filter). Room was dust central. Dust had settled everywhere and even after wiping it off it would re settle. Under the bed was filthy with dirt and dust looked like it had been forgotten about by the cleaner. (See photo of dust on counter tops and on molding). If you're looking for a good night sleep, be aware that the hotel is near a train crossing and you will hear the train throughout the night. Most concerning was the lack of customer service among staff. If a hotel can't provide the courtesy of vacuuming the floor and ridding it of trash, why bother staying open? Poor management among other factors can lead to rotten reviews such as the one above.

Update: Yesterday I was contacted by Gary the business manager. He left me a voice message that I would be receiving my full refund because I had cancelled well in advance, and apologized for the way I was handled on the phone. Thank you very much Gary. We will try to schedule a stay at a better time.

I enjoyed the stay here a couple years ago but I came by to look at the hotel because I haven't seen it in a while and this security guard kicked me out for just being a kid. It is screwed up when I just wanted to see the hotel. Very unprofessional. This guy should not be there.
