"Steps from the Round Top Inn, in Rummel Square, this restaurant r pairs a simple menu of wine and cocktails with hearty comfort foods like hanger steak salad, chicken fried steak, and snapper etouffee. It does not skimp on portions, but don’t fill up too fast — the bread pudding is legendary, and worth saving room for. Takeout orders can be placed in person; there are indoor and outdoor dine-in services." - Megha McSwain

Google
I would strongly suggest avoiding this restaurant. It was not busy when we went but service was very slow. We saw multiple groups of people sit down and then leave. Our drinks were never refilled and the food was expensive for small portions plus it wasn’t worth it. I ended up feeling sick shortly after eating here. I later noticed that we were charged incorrectly. After including a $5 tip, our total was $47.09. On my bank statement, our charge was $50.09. I tip based on service. I don’t not tip, but I’m not tipping well if service is significantly poor. (Also $42 for a tea, an appetizer and a salad is dumb). Anyway, I was frustrated to see that money was stolen from me. I called to let the manager, Lynn, know. She apologized and said that she was the one who put in the tips. The manager was the one to add money to the servers tip apparently. Lynn said it was a mistake due to the system they use to input tips. That doesn’t make much sense to me. She didn’t care that our experience was poor and acted as if this “mistake” was a common error. I don’t like my money being messed with. I shouldn’t have to worry about servers or managers making “mistakes” with my money. All around a bad experience. I will never be back.

Good vibes, no value. $12 grilled cheese for a bare bones lackluster sandwich with the thinnest smearing of cheese that doesn’t encompass the whole slice of cheap white bread.

This is my great great great grandpa's dog trot! AMAZING condition 😃 so glad to find it! General More, not a great guy, but one can't be proud of everything one does in life. wish the store's had been open. WOW! So cool, coming next year and maybe have a chance to see inside 😜

The decor in this restaurant is impeccable. Rustic yet classy and chic. We started off hoping to have breakfast. They don’t have bunch until Sundays. (side note: not many places do breakfast in this town) The food was good, but they burned my hamburger bun, left the onions in (even though I asked for no onions) and we had to ask for refills. I understand they got busy during our visit. The staff were all very nice, but some small details left undone. The restrooms were clean and smelled wonderful. The candle they burn is sold at their little store. We went to check it out after lunch. Very item items, but also very expensive. $68 for the candle we liked. It’s stand for shops like this in tiny towns to be expensive. We enjoyed browsing.

Google
This restaurant was so charming. The decor was beautiful and the food was delicious. We had dinner there and at night the lighting inside and outside was just perfect. I hope to return there soon!!

Such a charming spot! The Garden Company in Round Top is a perfect mix of great food, beautiful atmosphere, and Texas hospitality. The outdoor seating and lush setting make it a go-to for lunch, drinks, or just relaxing with friends. Always a favorite stop when in town!

Google
A delightful eatery that welcomes you in to a variety of beautiful seating arrangements. Skillfully decorated interior settings as you would expect for Roundtop, the host of one of the largest Antique Markets in the US. The food is fresh, healthy and bursting with flavor. The drinks are well crafted and refreshing. The extensive terraced outdoor patio is, for me, the best way to enjoy this restaurant. Nestled under the wings of the expansive oak tree, you will enjoy the Spring weather as we did. With limited eating options in Roundtop, this is a great surprise.

The peach smash was delish and so was dinner. A nice place to relax and celebrate a long day of successful treasure hunting!

Yelp
Very charming with great food! We met family for lunch in Round Top and had a lovely time. It was Thursday right when it opened so no wait. Good was great. Fresh and large portions. The standouts were the BLT, Greek salad, blue cheese burger and the brussel sprouts! The service was great too. The restaurant had many fixtures that channeled the antique spirit of the town which added to the ambiance.

Yelp
Excellent food! We had the Fungi burgers, the Brussels sprouts (which are a must!) and one salmon salad. We had been at the winery all day so we didn't feel like drinking anymore. The location is right in town and super chill. I actually love the design of the restaurant inside this old, historic house. The servers were nice but I did feel rushed. I wish they could've just told us they would be closing soon. We did get there a bit late. I would probably return earlier in the day if I do.

Yelp
This place charges outrageous prices for cafeteria-adjacent food. Paid 16 bucks for a regular burger (+3 dollars to add bacon). They proceed to bring out an overcooked, flavorless patty and a single piece of bacon sandwiched between two pieces of untoasted bread. All of the sides (lettuce, etc.) were on the side and the condiments (mayo, etc.) came in little packets. If they charged 8 dollars for this burger I would not complain, but to charge 18 bucks for this is egregious. Service was good, but the food is just not worth a lick of your time. If they charged 8 bucks for it, it would be a different story.

Yelp
Pretty standard food. Menu has range from Korean street tacos to Greek salad, Mexico queso, Italian pasta, to steaks and salads. Definitely something for everyone, but such a wide range always raised a flag for me. Brussel sprouts were fried nicely, covered in sweet chili sauce. For $14, i expected a very generous family sized portion but it was probably 8 or so Brussel sprouts cut in half. We ordered the beef tenderloin for $42, asked for rare but got medium to well-done. Ordered the Plain Jane burger with request for medium rate, came well done. Our server was kind enough to knock $22 of the bill and let the kitchen know. Seems like this place is getting hit hard by inflation and/or becoming "tourist" food. The atmosphere is lovely, both indoor and outside. Service was super charming. Once was enough for us!

Yelp
There was a bit of confusion upon arrival because we were not aware BRUNCH NOT SERVED ON SATURDAYS. We were also given the wrong menu but everything worked out fine. The service was good, the food was excellent but just disappointed breakfast was not served as we originally thought or intended.

Yelp
I've discovered Round Top Antique show from a friend of mine about two years ago and since then I've been coming here every antique show season. From Texas country clothing & furnishings to European antique this one week event will blow your mind. But after a day of shopping or window shopping there's no better place than coming down to this place and enjoy a drink or two. Either you want to sit outside the patio under the old oak tree or inside, both have a great ambience. The menu changes throughout the day. Lunches are small plates, sandwiches, burgers and salads while dinner you can enjoy some of their almost like Asian twist dishes. I haven't spoken to the owner but it makes me wonder if one is either Korean or Chinese . Nonetheless the dishes were delicious. The staff is excellent and attentive as well as friendly. This part of town took a piece of my heart. The people are friendly, but very fashionable and chic, I just love it! If you're attending the antique show or even just passing through stop by this place and have yourself a cocktail or two and take in the country sides breeze. I promise you won't regret it!

Yelp
We always come here when we're in town, because the service and decor are nice and the menu has something to please everyone, even our pickiest eaters. There's always a decent amount of people inside, and the staff have a casual friendly that really makes you feel at home. Though I'm usually a burger girl, I always order the chicken salad sandwich here because it hits just the right notes between savory and sweet.

Yelp
I've wanted to eat here for years and finally had a chance this morning for Sunday brunch. I ordered a Benedict with no bacon (I'm a vegetarian) with a sweet blond waitress. When the food came out with a red headed waitress, I politely said "sorry I don't eat meat". The waitress scoffed as she argued that it's Canadian bacon and not bacon...alas, she took the plate back to the kitchen. She returned moments later with the exact same plate of food, with no bacon under the eggs. It was very clear the kitchen had just picked off the bacon and hadn't remade the dish. Thankfully I don't have an allergy. And I ate it bc I wasn't going to risk upsetting her further. As she placed the plate down she smirked and then walked to another staff member where they looked over at us and laughed, I guess they figured they had really shown me! The bad behavior was very evident, and very mean girl-ish. It was quite shocking behavior for restaurant staff. Super disappointed in the staff. Not sure I'd go back.

Yelp
Service was great! Food was delicious! I had the Greek salad with Salmon. Salmon was cooked perfectly! Great wine selection! I would definitely return.

Ben S.

Yelp
Food far less than par. We were there during antique week and service has slipped over the years. Overcooked salmon, two bites. Undercooked carrots. Even the water was swampy nasty. Switched to bottled water and wine. Wine and bourbon were great. Skip this restaurant and go to LuLus across the street. Oh, and the front door slams closed every 15seconds. Sounds as great as the crying babies behind us.

Crystal W.

Yelp
If you bring your dogs with you to Round Top, this is the place to eat at. The patio is covered by a giant tree and they have water bowls for your pups. The food and cocktails were also delicious! Overall a friendly and relaxing environment!

Emma D.

Yelp
Very delicious came here after we were in round top and just fell in love with the salmon. The waitress was really kind and told us her favorite food, which was the salmon . The atmosphere is really cute. It kind of makes you feel like you're in an old Timey movie.

Nancy T.

Yelp
Great food! Service was spot on. Love the decor! We were there for brunch. Hubby had a steak and mushroom omelet he loved. Are it all!!! I had Greek Chicken Salad. I cleaned my plate too!

Kari F.

Yelp
The restaurant is cute... however, the grilled chicken sandwich was gross and the waitstaff (one dark haired 20-something male) was very disrespectful and rude... they must be pretty hard up for waiters in Round Top to allow someone like him to work there.

Nikkita F.

Yelp
The restaurant itself is so cute! Very vintage and full of cute antiques. The patio is lovely and has a great sunset view. Definitely a great spot if you're in round top. The food just wasn't great to us! The best thing we tried was the pecan bread pudding and I would 100% recommended getting that.

Sherri S.

Yelp
We chose this place for the patio. I ordered the blue cheese burger...MEDIUM. It came out well done plus and was horrible. When I showed the waitress how well done it was, she asked if I wanted to return it. Then another guy came over to ask the same question. By this time everyone at the table had their food and was eating. I could tell it was going to be an ordeal so I said forget it (which they were all too happy to do). I ate 1/4 of it and left the rest. Of course, they still charged me. Never will I go there again. Horrible waitstaff and experience

Garry H.

Yelp
Hmmm. 4 or 5 stars? This place has it all. We ate at the sister restaurant several years ago, so we knew haw good the food would be. Insider dining rooms are great, but the patio is too die for. A two level patio under a HUGE oak tree. You couldn't ask for more. Fans keep the patio cool when they are needed. My Fungi Burger was wonderful. The meat was cooked perfectly, and the grilled mushrooms were so tasty. Glenda had the chicken salad sandwich, and Reesa had the Cilantro chili lime shrimp salad. It was great. Service was quick and very friendly. He knew his stuff. Definitely worth stopping if you are in the area!

Kayci W.

Yelp
The best food and drinks but they have the absolute RUDEST hostess. We spent well over $1k over the last 2 nights there. Tonight we were told extremely rudely that we needed to leave because they had people waiting to sit down and that we had been there too long. It would be different if they would have kindly told us that there were people waiting for our table but the hostess literally came over and said "y'all have been here for 2 hours and you just need to leave." ‍As a business owner in the service industry-I was truly embarrassed for Gar Co.!

Cassi G.

Yelp
Great Brussel sprouts! Love the ambiance and atmosphere. Romantic yet casual with a fine dining vibe. Classy place and food!

Quyen B.

Yelp
I kept second guessing this review thinking the food wasn't good because I went on mother's day...but decided (based on the facts) that I'm being fair here. We were the second table seated upon opening and ordered shortly after. They had a mother's day menu (in my mind they must've prepared for this). I ordered the berry soufflé pancakes described as "fluffy". I will almost always order something soufflé because it means I'll be eating something light and airy and kinda melts in your mouth. To my disappointment, as the server walked towards our table with the pancakes (at least 20+ minutes after we ordered), the pancakes looked flat. It tasted dense and greasy. Exact opposite of what it should be. I didn't mention it to the server because I was too hungry to wait for a replacement given the wait time. My husband's order was missing a side item and his potatoes were undercooked. The table next to us had more issues than we did.. if it wasn't mother's day, I felt like the dad at this table was going to make a scene. Only thing that made me get thru the brunch was the nice weather and patio they had. Servers tried their best.

Shradha A.

Yelp
Really unique decor and adorable spot in Round Top. We're not ready to dine-in yet during the pandemic, so only took a quick peek and wish we couldn't stayed. We did order dessert for takeout and it was amazing!

Ronald G.

Yelp
Lonely, but the food was delicious. Spoke with my guest and the staff, too late for lunch and early for dinner.

Carey C.

Yelp
It's a nice looking place with good ambiance, the staff was friendly but the food was not good. I got the burger and it was so dry I couldn't eat it. My wife got the chicken salad which was nothing to write home about and a small step above a house salad. Her lavender Tyme lemonade was good. But wouldn't be back with what's in the area.

Jane A.

Yelp
Great ambiance, good service and tasty food. They don't serve bread that was a little disappointing. We had salads and bought the Brie to have the crostinis. It was good not exceptional. For a small town the food was good quality and a great selection.

Della F.

Yelp
The fried chicken salad was delicious!!! Highly recommend this place. Service was a bit slow but the ambiance overall was great.

Alisha B.

Yelp
This place was awesome. Food was great and well priced, relaxed atmosphere. The fried chicken salad was full of chicken and the burger was fresh and delicious. BONUS... it was dog friendly on a hot day! We'll be back for sure.

Kristen A.

Yelp
I absolutely loved this quant, beautiful, rustic restaurant. The driftwood on the ceilings gives it a homey feel. We came for brunch and had some mimosas, chicken appetizers (worth the hype) and the migas. I will warn you, the migas had some heat. I loved every bite of it though. The black beans were my favorite part. I typically don't gravitate for black beans but they were soo flavorful and delicious and paired with the migas was a beautiful combination.

Emily D.

Yelp
The food was horrible. Lowest quality ingredients comparable to McDonald's. The only redeeming items were dessert.. the pecan pie bread pudding was incredible. The service was slow and also bad. When our queso never arrived, instead of asking us if we still wanted it, our server just took it off. (We still wanted it). When they didn't have salmon, instead of asking if we wanted an alternate, they just substituted with chicken. The the lowest quality food, I can only imagine the profits this restaurant pulls in- with these very high prices.. $21 for the green salad!! For a salad where some of the lettuce was already spoiled. Finally, the ambiance was ok. Do not recommend. Was very disappointed.

Mark E.

Yelp
Decided to take a quick trip to Round Top and figured I would try a new place on my always exploring restaurants in the region so today stop was at this location. As always I must start with the service which was very good especially the waitress who waited on me. Wish I would have got here name. I did notice that the floor staff worked as a team constantly helping each other and all willing to jump on any task that presents itself. So I'll pull up and from the outside it looks like a quaint little place in an old house that doesn't look like could seat many folks. I walk in and was surprised how many people where in the place and how spacious it was. Though I will say the clientele definitely did not look very local. On to the food. The lunch menu options looked interesting ending up deciding on the Fungi Burger primarily because it looked a bit unique. It was served with shoestring fries with ketchup and mustard on n the side. I like mustard but do not use it on this burger as it would have overpowered all other flavor. Sliced the burger in half and it was cooked to medium well as advertised and noticed a good amount of mushrooms which was a good thing. Took a bite and was a bit underwhelmed, took a second and third still experiencing the underwhelming sensation. Decided to eat the entire burger before making a final analysis. Well 'underwhelming' remain to the end. That feeling was not because the burger was substandard but more to do with it being 'standard' for any mushroom burger I have had in the past. Higher expectation is was driven on the fact that the sauce here was supposed to be a Truffle Aioli which is supposed to made with garlic and lemon juices, a normally tasty flavor. This burger had none of these tasting no better then standard mayo. It would have been much better with a more garlic lemon infused flavor. Oh and very pricey for a standard mushroom burger. Though I was 'underwhelmed' I believe I may return for dinner at some point to give this place a better chance but I believe I may skip it for a lunch burger given there is another nearby option that is most excellent food.

Andrea M.

Yelp
Beautiful patio and restaurant. The Brussel sprouts were amazing as were the drinks. I had the fried chicken salad and it was perfect. The service was also prompt. Definitely would come back and recommend to others!

Mary W.

Yelp
The food was tasty. My gnocchi chicken was cooked perfectly. I thought drinks were a bit over priced and and service was not inviting.

Charlie P.

Yelp
Always the best food, service and atmosphere anytime of year! Be sure to make reservations and know they have another unique restaurant and shop in Schulenberg too!

Emily Ruth L.

Yelp
Great patio. Great food. Friendly staff. Awesome oak tree in the back. Definitely recommend.

Megan B.

Yelp
Stopped in for lunch and had a great meal. Ordered the bubbly frenchie cocktail and the Paloma. They have a great cocktail list! We started with the crispy Brussel sprouts and they were excellent. I had the chicken salad sandwich with rosemary shoestring fries. It was a ton of food but really good! They have a huge outdoor patio that's shaded and off the main road. Lots of funky shops surrounding the restaurant so definitely stop in during your visit to Round top.

Jace H.

Yelp
Of course it's a staple in round top, very over rated for the quality of food. Upon receiving the lavender lemonade drink tasted like cough syrup. Shrimp were like rubber. The waitress was to busy on her phone rather than tending to her customers. Another waitress had to close us out. Prior to Covid this place was on the top of my list very sad to see how far it has fallen.

Steven B.

Yelp
I'm embarrassed to say the least. This is my family's old home. 3 generations were raised in this old house moved to Round Top a few years ago. I sent my son and his date for prom dinner and he said it was horrible. 14 oz ribeye was acutely an 8 oz cut if that. And his date had the chicken. They said it tasted as if it was microwaved. Total embarrassment for the community of Round Top

Jana M.

Yelp
Exceptional food, service and ambience. Excellent spinach salad. Highly recommend. Loved our server. Can't wait to come back again.

Ann D.

Yelp
Great place to eat lunch under the huge oak trees on the back deck. The service was great from the hostess to the drink order taker, waitress and busser. They all helped each other and it was obvious they liked working together. The hand-crafted cocktails were amazingly refreshing and we were even provided the recipe for one we especially liked. The chicken salad and gourmet grilled cheese were our group's favorites. The setting of this restaurant is peaceful and relaxing. I'd love to return one day.

Kate K.

Yelp
Normally I take pictures of Everything I eat in restaurants but here I didn't-too bad because it was good. Glad we stopped here even tho I didn't get a chance to look at Yelp beforehand. Very nice ambiance inside and on the patio. And check out the bathrooms. There's a reason JoJo Gaines recommends Round Top as a place to visit. And it's right by ZZ Top's LaGrange!

Marilyn M.

Yelp
Great find in Round Top. Relaxed but elevated dining. Highly recommend - make sure you get reservations early.

Shannon K.

Yelp
Really great service on a busy Mother's Day weekend. They were absolutely slammed but still pleasant and very accommodating. They accidentally had our reservation inside and were kind enough to move us outdoors despite being overwhelmed. Thankful for a great spot like this to meet between Houston and Austin.

Harry M.

Yelp
RUDE & RACIST SERVICE! From the minute my wife and I entered this restaurant, we were not greeted by the hostess. She just said, inside or outside." We were herded to a table outside like cattle going to slaughter. The server brought our drinks and she never returned until it was time for the check. A black waitress brought our food and returned with lemons. I'm a black man, married to a charming white woman. I was extremely disappointed with the service and attitude of some staff members. I'll never return and don't recommend this restaurant to anyone. I guess some of the staff are stuck in time like the 60"s.

Michael M.

Yelp
Awesome great food and nice place to eat. Good service and food is outstanding. Nice wine and great cocktails.

Susan S.

Yelp
We had the most wonderful meal and our server, Summer, made it such a great experience. The salmon, shrimp and fried chicken salads were delicious. The Brussel sprout appetizer was the best we'd ever eaten! We will definitely come back and try a few other things on the menu!

Lynsey D.

Yelp
Get the brussel sprouts and ranch water! Garden Co has my favorite version of a ranch water. It's delicious. A beautiful atmosphere and great food.

Joni H.

Yelp
Best yummy place to eat in Round Top. So fun to sit under the beautiful old oak tree and eat their UNBELIEVABLE Brussel Sprouts! The chocolate martinis were a wonderful way end our meal.

Julie A.

Yelp
Such a cute restaurant with amazing service! Everyone was very nice. The pineapple tequila drink is great! The Brussels sprouts and Korean chicken tacos were amazing! You can either eat the tacos for 1 person or split them.

Tina A.

Yelp
Thoroughly enjoyed our lunch today. The weather was wonderful so we sat outside. We shared some appetizers , which were amazing! Every one and every thing was a great experience!
