My friend and I drove up from Melbourne just to indulge in the wonderful land of The Garlic! We got there during peak dinner time, but put our name on the list and grabbed a glass of wine from the outside bar while we waited. We surprisingly got seated 30 minutes before our expected wait time. Our server was Carl and I will be requesting him everytime I go because of how amazing he was. From his great attitude and confidence to his ability to guide us on our foodie journey for the evening, we loved having him as our server. My friend never tried Bone Marrow so when I saw it as an option as a weekly special app, I knew we had to do it. They serve two generous portions and we feasted. Carl explained that the Lamb was from a special vendor in New Zealand, so that automatically got added to our dinner. We also got the Spuntitori Italiano, but princess style (marinara and Alfredo mixed) as Carl suggested since I get heartburn from eating a big bowl of straight marinara. We finished off with a sweet treat, as two lady besties do, and again trusted Carl which did not disappoint. We shared the carrot cake and paired it with a glass of Frangelico, what a combo! Overall the decor of the garlic, the quality food, the price range, and the service made our experience here 10/10. We will definitely be coming back soon!

The Coolest place we’ve ever had dinner! Atmosphere is second to none, no way someone planned this design. Has to be organic and developed into this, as it grew. Fantastic food! Not one bad choice and possibly the BEST Meatball you ever put in your mouth. Top it all off with a world class waiter, Daniel, who was knowledgeable, informative with a personality that this place deserves! Top Notch! Do not miss, even if you’re in town for one night - GO! We’ll be back!

This was our first time at The Garlic. We went for our 26 Anniversary. First let me say, our server Ryan made the entire experience amazing! He was entertaining, knowledgeable and efficient! The food was so good! No small portions here!! I can't say enough good things about this place! Worth every penny.

Wow. This place it top notch. If you make it there, request to have Lucky as your server. He has incredible wine and champagne knowledge. He's also one of the best servers we have had anywhere in the world. A true professional. I can't find the words to describe the food here. It's all incredible. I got the prosciutto tortellini and my husband got the lamb. Both were off the charts. Be very hungry when you get here because you get so much food between the salad, garlic bread and entree and you will want try all of it. Get there at 4pm if you don't want to wait very long for a table. They don't take reservations. It's a beautiful atmosphere too, we can't wait to go back.

Gives Fairy hut vibes that I adore. The staff was very friendly! Such a nice date idea, a bit pricey but WELL WORTH IT! Food was fairly quick especially given how busy it was. No complaints! Me and my Husband Loved it and would definitely be going again sometime!

Get there before they open and there is a line at 4pm! Great place and our waiter was so attentive. My husband got the 32 oz Ribeye and it was $82 Lol. He did enjoy it, and it was cooked to perfection. The bread was amazing. The Harlots Cheese is a yummy appetizer to get. My chicken fettuccine alfedo was delicious, too. I had a raspberry mojito that was so good. Highly recommend you try!

1st time visiting. Will definitely take the 3 1/2 hour drive to eat here again. (We did spend the night in the area as planned) Food freshly made. You can smell the garlic from the road. And I love garlic. When you plan a mini vacation to eat at a restaurant it has to be good.

I thought The Garlic was better than it is. I had heard from many people in the New Smyrna Beach area that The Garlic had excellent food. I didn't find the dishes that I or my companions had to be excellent. My review has been written after multiple visits to THE Garlic. The food was ok but not extraordinary. Let's face it, pasta is pasta for the most part it's the sauce that makes the dish. Their sauces were adequate but sometimes a bit ascitic to my taste. I like angel hair pasta and when I requested it our server said it was not available. The steak I had was cooked to my liking but my wife's lamb chops were overcooked. I tried the Bocce Ball 16 oz meatball made with filet mignon. It was quite ordinary, much like, any other meatball I have ever had I believe best thing about The Garlic was the smell of garlic cooking in the air around the restaurant. Parking is another problem

My favorite spot in New Smyrna! Here are just a few tips before we get into food. 1. They do not take reservations 2. If you have a big party go early to put your names on the list, they have a few bars and areas you can hangout while waiting for your reservation (ITS WORTH THE WAIT) 3. Entire party must be present to be seated 4. The restaurant seating is half covered and half not so if it rains some tables will get wet (although eating dinner here in the rain was truly awesome!!!) Now let's get into the food, portions are large and main entres come with salads served family style. Every table gets fresh baked garlic with bread and it is delicious! Our waiter could not have been better and made the atmosphere even better. He handled a table of 11 like a pro. The rib eye was cooked perfectly, the pastas were fresh, and the eggplant was delicious. The carrot cake was insanely moist with delicious frosting and was a great end to our meal.

I had heard so much about this restaurant that when my Husby asked me where I wanted to go for dinner on my birthday, I suggested The Garlic. It was good but I was slightly disappointed. First off, I knew from talking to others that there would be a wait even mid-week. We arrived just after they opened and there was already a line and a waiting list. There is a bar you can sit at while you wait, and live music was playing. We probably waited about 40 minutes. The decor is so eclectic, I probably spent the first 10 minutes just gawking at everything surrounding us. So many hidden gems within the walls, at the table, on the ceiling. And all of it outdoors, like someone's back patio. Service initially was quick and friendly. Great with giving recommendations about the food and their personal preferences. The Husby got a glass of wine, and I opted for the red sangria. It was a dryer wine than I would have expected for a sangria, but still refreshing and flavorful. For entrees, he ordered the Seafood Cannelloni of which I took a taste. It was rich and creamy. It had a good amount of seafood. I ordered the Bocce Ball because I was in the mood for pasta, and that's what ruined my meal. The bottom was completely burnt and the flavor of burnt meat pretty much infiltrated my dish. I did like the marinara sauce and linguini so I ate what was on the outside of the dish and part of the top of the bocce ball. Why didn't I tell the waitress..? Well, she kinda disappeared at this point, and by the time she returned it was with take home boxes, did we want anything else, no, ok here's the bill. We probably would come back because this was close to being a 5 in my opinion. I will most likely order something different, and again will come early because this place was super packed as we made our way out. Again, this was mid-week. So definitely won't come back on a weekend.

Wanted to try this place forever before actually making it here. They don't accept reservations and the place is always packed when I drive by. So when I did go, I'd say parking can be tricky and you need to be careful where you park so you don't get a ticket but we found a spot in the official overflow parking area. It was only a short walk. Once checked in there is a large outdoor patio where you can grab a drink and sit and talk while you wait. The wait did not feel that bad at all for being packed. When you go inside there are huge dining rooms all themed different. Seats felt a little close. Service was good. Food was amazing. Can't wait to go back.

Been trying to get into this restaurant multiple times they are always packed. The moment you arrive you feel like you're in the garden. They have a bar outside also. Once you get inside, it's like the outside being brought in. The food is amazing ordered pasta, and it was cooked right. The sauce wasn't too heavy I would recommend pasta puttanesca. Their garlic appetizer, I wasn't that impressed. It was a little bland. Price of moderate they have a good wine selection also. We didn't even touch the dessert. Definitely a place that I would come back when I'm in new Smyrna.

The Garlic is a must if you're in the area. The eclectic decor with just about whatever you can imagine, keeps your eyes entertained, walking through and while dining. My son particularly loved the Old Divco milk truck he pretended to drive, it's the small details that improve dining with children. We had a large party (11) and the server was absolutely amazing. She was so attentive and kind in doing so, it truly made it a great experience. I am a HUGE fan of garlic, so I clearly enjoyed alll of the food. They serve bread and to dip, roasted garlic drizzled with oil and balsamic vinegar- so good! Be aware it's not easy to stop eating it once you start. We also ordered the bruschetta and charcuterie board. My entree was the seafood cannelloni, it was very cheesy. I think I would have enjoyed more seafood inside though. To be honest I ate way too much prior to my meal that I didn't have much room for it -oops.

Went out to Garlic service still very good. The meal was very good but not the best when I've come before. Place is always clean. Service is fantastic! I had the NY strip was okay. Potatoes were dry. Food was good, ambiance was great and service was good!

Recently, I went to The Garlic for my family's mother's day dinner. First off, I will acknowledge that the atmosphere is great and the restaurant is basically a sprawling indoors and outdoors building with many statues and gardens spread throughout. It really is beautiful if you have never experienced it before. Also, I did enjoy the Italian food and my chicken parm was delicious. However, there are multiple downsides to this restaurant that I feel any diner should know before committing to eating dinner at The Garlic. First of all, there is little to no parking and the parking that does exist is mostly dirt lots. Traffic enforcement will also literally be out waiting to ticket or tow your car at any moment on top of this, so there is no room for error. Secondly, they do not take reservations and instead force diners to wait in a long line in the insanely hot FL weather for what could be hours for even the chance at a table. Basically, if you don't arrive at 3pm (restaurant opens at 4pm), you're not getting in until at least 5:30pm-6:00pm. Honestly, if my mom were not so set on eating here, I would have just left after this treatment... Rating 3 stars for now as I personally feel that a majority of the issues I noticed during my time here could be easily remedied by investing in the tools needed to run the restaurant more efficiently.

WORTH EVERY PENNY AND WORTH THE WAIT. We loved The Garlic when we went. The wait was about 1.5 hours, however, it went by quickly. There is a bar that you could order drinks from, and I recommend the white Sangria over the red, but both good. Upon seating, the restaurant ambiance is awesome. Very eclectic and unique. The waitstaff was wonderful and extremely accommodating. The meals at the restaurant are very large portions. Every single person in our party had a to go container. From the seafood, to the chicken, to the pasta to the bread- the food is absolutely phenomenal. We were highly impressed and now see why the locals speak so highly of this restaurant!!! GO GO GO!!

Amazing dinner and I had the chicken parmesan and my husband had some seafood dish with pasta. We showed up at 3 abd waited in the heat till 4 and we were third in line to be seated! It was so worth it! Jill was a great server!

After dreaming of trying The Garlic for nearly two years, it finally happened. As a central Florida local, passing by The Garlic coming to and from the beach was a regular occurrence, but sadly never a stop due to the semi-lengthy drive back. My partner and I arrived early, around 4:50 because we knew it would be a lengthy wait. We were told an hour, but ended up being seated around 5:30. While waiting, you can enjoy the bar outside, the gift shop, or walk around the neighborhoods nearby like my partner and I did. Tip - arrive about an hour or so before you'd like to have dinner, as the wait times are known for being long. The interior of the restaurant is unique, and will have you feeling as if you are in the middle of a garden. The space is filled with greenery and related decor, giving off a European/Italian vibe. Upon being seated, you are greeted with hot bread and fresh garlic, yum! When ordering, the waiter/waitress will hand you a lasagna noodle that has the nightly specials written on it. This was a lovely and very creative way to display specials. For the appetizer, we ordered the fried soft shell crab and it arrived quickly. The flavor could have been better, as the fried batter took away some of the crabby taste. Each of our meals came with a house salad, which was enjoyable. For my entree, I selected the Chicken Marsala and it was the best I've had. The sauce was creamy and flavorful, unlike some I've had in the past. My partner ordered a seafood pasta and enjoyed it as well. The service was great, as we were in and out in less than 2 hours on a very busy Saturday night. As mentioned earlier, I would still arrive well before you are ready to eat because the large wait time will likely be present. Looking forward to trying The Garlic again soon!

What a splendid meal! I took my grandparents for their first visit to The Garlic. They loved it so much, they said they want to make the 10 hour drive from their home in Virginia again next month just to spend their anniversary at The Garlic. For appetizers, we enjoyed my favorites: the Harlot's cheese and calamari. For entrees, my Nannie and I got the seafood cannelloni. My Pa got the seafood Italiano. The bread service with roasted garlic was amazing, as were our salads. To drink, I had an Aperol spritz and a red sangria. Everything we had was absolutely fantastic. Our waiter Mark was amazing and we absolutely loved the ambiance. This place is truly special!

Was there Saturday with a group of 4. Most of the food was good. The calamari was outstanding! The one disappointment was the chicken Alfredo . The sauce & noodles were great but the chicken was absolutely horrible! Like it was microwaved or boiled from frozen. Tasteless. Not acceptable for a place like this. The drinks were really good. The deserts were really good. Bobby was mediocre. We told him we were celebrating a birthday and he could care less. That was disappointing. Overall it was ok. Don't think I'll be driving from Orlando again.

The Garlic... TripleD stop # 127... oh man what a huge place! They bring out fresh roasted garlic and smash it on a plate so you can dip the awesome fresh baked bread in it. The Mrs's Ravioli Bolignaise was a good portion and very tasty. My Spuntitori Italiano redefined the term HUGE...the combination of Italian Sausage, Meatballs, Pulled Beef, Mini Pork Osso Buco, sautéed with onions sweet bell peppers basil, marinara sauce tossed with rigatoni....was to die for! What I...yes I, couldn't finish we had to have Marco (our very helpful server) find something big enough to take it with us in...he found the bucket posted below and we filled it 3/4 full...that's how much food makes up the dish. I ate until I couldn't take another bite...the portion was almost as big as the flavor it packs

While I am excited to report on the food at The Garlic, I want to start my review with something far more dear to me. I was dining here with my grandmother, who due to a recent ankle injury is moving quite slower than usual, cane in tow. My family may be used to this, but when we venture out into the world I typically find the general public are not as patient. That is why I am so blown away to say that every single member of the staff at The Garlic that evening were the most patient and polite people I have encountered in a long time! From accommodating us to a lower table that was easily accessible, to paying no mind that it took us a bit longer to following behind. But the interaction that pulled at my heartstrings the most came as we were leaving the restaurant. Eventually coming to a pass that was mostly large enough for only one person to follow along at a time, a member of the staff came up behind my grandma and my grandma offered to step aside to let her pass. The staff member replied "You take your time, I am in no rush!" Of course, working in a restaurant is inherently fast paced, and I knew the woman couldn't have been on a Sunday stroll, but her response sounded sincere enough to calm my grandma down and she then wished us farewell once we reached the front of the restaurant. The service alone is enough for me to recommend The Garlic to any and everyone, but I'll be darned if the food isn't worth it as well! Every last thing we ordered was stellar and it was obvious the dishes are labors of time and love. My experience at The Garlic was flawless from start to finish and I want to extend the biggest thanks to the staff for their kindness and for making this such a sweet experience for my entire family!

Wow! Wow! This is a " Do not miss" If you are visiting New Smyrna Beach It's a cornucopia of visual delights A feast for the eyes and your belly an eclectic wonderland filled with whimsical , garlicky fun woodsy creatures and fairy lights. They start you with fresh " and I mean fresh" baguettes of bread with a roasted bulb of garlic and olive oil. Yuuuuuum...... Impressive wine list . Great menu. All the pastas are fresh and plentiful. You want fresh parmigiana?! They come by with a bowl bigger they your head and dump spoonfuls onto your pasta until you say stop... I live here now You won't have room for dessert, but have it anyway... the chocolate chip cannolis and the peanut butter pie, stop it!!! I can't! It was sooooo good. Listen folks.... They don't take reservations. You could wait anywheres of 20 minutes to 2 hours. We waited 1 hour on a Monday evening at 6:00. If that tells you anything This place is hopping. It's good people... Go! Plenty of parking and dog friendly Enjoy!

Don't think about going here. Just do it. For one of the most delicious Italian meals you will find in Florida, or anywhere for that matter, The Garlic is your spot. Everything that comes out of the kitchen of this quaint, yet kitche local icon is made fresh, mostly that day. Served promptly and attentively the food would leave you begging for more, if you can fit more! Their prices are a solid value. They're not "cheap" but for the serving size and quality you receive, they are well justified. Arrive early, it does fill up and you can expect a wait on busy nights.

I FINALLY made it! We had a party of 8 and let me tell you, it was worth the wait (no reservations). Every bite was full of so much flavor and made with so much love. The outside area is amazing - very glad they had a bar ("The Clove") to grab a drink while you wait for your table. Plenty of seating for everyone across the large patio. Beautiful lights hanging up in the entryway welcome you as you walk past the pizza oven and greenery. The vibe of this place is truly amazing. The specials are on a piece of pasta, which I thought was adorable, and the menu has a huge selection of appetizers and entrées. We had no room for dessert, but the tables next to us did and it looked awesome! Our server, Jeremy, was wonderful and had a great sense of humor. This place was great. Drove all the way from Orlando to come here. Great food, great service, great atmosphere, great drinks!! The vibe was awesome all around. Will definitely be back. Picture is the Lamb Chops with Garlic mashed potatoes & Spuntitori Italiano!

This place really doesn't need any reviews or advertising, they are absolutely fabulous! Every table, every seat at the bar, every inch of that space had a customer when we were there a couple nights ago, and every dish that we ordered (party of nine), was absolutely delicious from the appetizers to all of our different meals which ranged from pasta, to meats, to poultry, there was not one plate that we didn't enjoy. Our server was fabulous too, and gave me probably the nicest birthday toast that I have ever had. I apologize for the lack of food pictures. I don't know where they went to it is as beautiful as it is delicious.

HOLY COW! This place definitely lives up to the hype but definitely be ready to wait a bit especially on the weekends. We waited almost 2 hours on a Saturday. I will say the atmosphere definitely makes the wait more bearable. There is an outdoor bar and seating area to hangout at while you wait. We enjoyed a few delicious sangrias while waiting. The food is outstanding. Truly some of the best pasta we've ever had. The manicotti was my favorite but everything we had was truly amazing!

I had a wonderful experience at The Garlic! Despite not taking reservations, our party of 10 only waited for about 25 minutes on a Friday night, which was impressive. The restaurant's unique and charming decor, adorned with string lights, created a great ambiance. Live music added to the enjoyable atmosphere. The prosciutto and pea tortellini full of flavor - truly amazing. And let's not forget the bread and garlic served at the beginning; it was a highlight and absolutely delicious. I highly recommend The Garlic for a memorable dining experience filled with great food and ambiance.

We haven't been to The Garlic in a couple of years because we'd drive from Cocoa Beach just to eat here. Then COVID and health issues kept us home. My husband took me here to dinner once after I'd raced in a regatta on the Halifax and our Women's master's 8 won the gold! We arrived as they opened, I in my spandex and gold medal, and we are in the courtyard area, our favorite! We've brought my dad for his birthdays, my parents for our anniversaries, and just driven up on the back roads for a drive and dinner. Expect to wait for a table- no reservations accepted. Make it an excursion. Anyway, my reward for my race was my favorite dish on the menu, the 32 oz. Bone-in rib eye, cooked to perfection in il forno. Honestly,I can't believe some of the negative comments about this steak. People look at me every time and ask if I'm going to eat the whole thing, to which I'd reply that it would be gone in 3-4 days! I'd take home what I couldn't devour and take slices to school for lunch until it was gone. This includes gnawing on the bone. My husband laughs at me as the wait staff always tries to set it in front of him, but no, he sticks with Chef Michael's ciopinno! The roast garlic and loaves of bread, also from il forno, are must haves - work off the carbs another day. Two months ago, we moved to St. Augustine. Plenty of great restaurants. We'd spent many long weekends here, so when I retired we decided to move her and we love it. Today, I mentioned that we'd better start planning to make a reservation for St. Valentine's Day. My husband's immediate response was too bad The Garlic doesn't take reservations. We've learned that if we arrive early enough, the wait isn't too bad. We can have cocktails until our table is ready, and maybe even done in the Blu bar. I'm so glad he is willing to make the drive - most likely weaving down the coast on A1A and US 1 for a beautiful drive, winding up at our old favorite- The Garlic. With indoor seating plus the courtyard and Blu Bar, seating is plentiful yet still intimate. Music nightly. Great Italian gift shop. We love this iconic restaurant.

The Garlic Absolutely Amazing! Atmosphere 10/10 Best place I've seen anywhere near Daytona. Hard to explain but from the parking lot to the table every single thing is an experience. Food 10/10 Creative.. Huge... Tasty... Classic From the bread to the sides. It was perfection. Absolutely mouth watering Service 10/10 Friendly and knowledgeable!

Lives up to the hype! Very unique and unforgettable experience. Visited on 6-18-23 at 3:30pm. The restaurant opens at 4 but you better be there early if you wanna snag a table. The line was snaked around the parking lot when we got there. Those who don't make it the first round are doomed to wait an hour or more for the first round of folks to leave. They have a bar outside to enjoy while you wait. This place is enormous and beautiful. It's really hard to describe...like a historic art garden outside and funky old retro florida vibes inside. Restrooms are janky but clean. $132.25 got us an appetizer, two adult entrees, one kids meal, one soda, and three alcoholic beverages. Service from Christian was stellar. At one point a stray cat wandered into the restaurant which was very entertaining. First they brought out a half of a warm fresh baguette with a whole head of roasted garlic. Our server poured oil and balsamic on top. It was so creamy and delicious on the crusty French bread. For our appetizer we shared the $12.95 artichoke dip which was delicious. It was thick and creamy and had smaller chunks of artichoke which I liked. It was served with little grilled crostinis. I had the $27.95 cedar plank salmon which came with cauliflower and potatoes. The salmon was a large portion and perfectly cooked. I also had a caesar salad on the side and it had parmesan croutons which I loved. The ambiance is immaculate. Perfect for special occasions and very whimsical! I loved it.

Once again, this place never disappoints. We were a total of 5 adults. We had a 2 hr wait. We decided to go to the bar. We got 2 seats and waited to get 3 more seats. Some people were getting ready to leave, and some got called for their table. We lucked out and got the corner of the bar where we could all still talk and enjoy each other. We ordered some appetizers and drinks. I got the notification about our table being available. Just over an hour wait time. Don't ever listen to the hostess. We ordered our entrees. Ciopino, Veal Marsala, catatonic special, and osso buco. We also got a charcuterie board for an appetizer. The board arrived, and it looked wonderful. Everything in the board was good. Great cheeses and meats. We didn't want to eat everything knowing that dinner was going to be big portions. We got our main meals and everything, again, looked and smelled wonderful. My first bite was so good. The sauce was good. The meal was burning hot, just the way I like it. Everyone loved their meal. They said it was the best they have had. We tasted each other's meals, and we all agreed. Good flavor for each meal. We had a great time and ate some good food. The service was fantastic. The wait staff at the bar was great. These folks kept everything going very smoothly. The meals came out quickly. We had good people sitting around us at the bar. We had a great time. This is a great place and fun to bring friends, especially for a first timer.

Our favorite restaurant in NSB! Everything we've ever tried at the garlic has been delicious. Not overpriced. The garlic appetizer is excellent. Servers have been all wonderful, and one of the best restaurant atmospheres I've seen. Overall 10/10 place.

Favorite italian place from the FIRST VISIT If you're looking for any negative remark, you won't find it in this comment. A fairy and a wizard designed this place, no doubt. The ambience is just perfect for it to be "aesthetic" but still not in your face. Its elegant and casual. Yes, there is garlic all over the restaurant with the creations but no, it doesn't smell like it . Note: it has more than one bar, so grab a spot while your table is ready. Spoiler: we stayed at the bar. Appetizers: the pepperoncini parmesan calamari are a MUST. Thats our usual order for apps, and boy were we surprised. I wish they were a little bit more cooked, but i would happily do this as an excuse to get another round. We also got the mozzarella. Its fried mozzarella, but not so fried and doesnt taste greasy. It also comes with the marinara and green olives, and you need to mix that up. Im drooling just thinking about it. For drinks I got a white russian, a stella, and something i dont remember. They were okay, but this is not why we're why we're here here. Okay the pasta a la puttanesca- never had that before so i cant compare. But the portions are HUGE. Im not a fan of linguini AT ALL, and this was just the most al dente, super hot but not burning -most delicious pasta ever. I wouldn't say its enough for 2, but you can share for sure. It has the mixture of the fried mozzarella (the sauce and olives) that makes you want to be IN the plate. Chicken parmigiana? HEAVEN ON EARTH. Yes, it's a basic plate, but there was nothing basic about the taste. The ingredients being so being so fresh and the pasta never drying out is just a simple task that a lot of restaurants seem to miss, but not the garlic. We couldnt order dessert, so I have an excuse to be back ASAP! The chicken parmigiana?

As a local, I've been to this restaurant several times over the years, and each time I always leave full and happy! Yes, the wait is always long and they are always busy, but trust me, it is worth the wait. Grab a drink at the bar and walk around and look at the cool atmosphere while you wait. We just went over the weekend and I started digging in before I got too many photos. I love the Lamb Lolipop Appetizer, this is cooked and seasoned to perfection! The Demi-glaze has a sweet and spicy kick. The main dishes ordered in our group were the Seafood Cataloni, Alfredo, Salmon, and I got the chicken Marsala, requesting it over a bed of linguini instead of the potatoes. Everyone was happy! We had an awesome server, he really rocked. I'll be back :)

This is the best Italian food I have found in the area. I loved the manicotti and the olives. My husband also enjoyed the prosciutto and pea tortellini. And of course, you can go wrong with bread and roasted garlic. We sat in the blue bar which was a little chilly but they turned on the heater for us. Our server was great, but I will say the hostess was very rude and almost turned us off for going at all. It was a Monday night and not very crowded so I was surprised to get such blunt directions and service at the hostess bar.

I can honestly say it's been a long, anticipated visit to the garlic. One of those places you've had bookmarked for years but never had an opportunity to visit until now. They had only been open for an hour, and already I had to park in the overflow lot so I was hopeful that this would be a great dining experience. I get the allure. There's something about the place in itself, it's eclectic, and exudes that: "You're on vacation, have a good time" feeling. Heck, even while me and my friends were waiting for our table, we struck up a conversation with some folks also waiting and ended up almost sharing a table together. It's that kinda place where you'd leave having made friends. The wait staff was this way too, very personable and we got in on the chef's backstory of how he once cooked at Sonny Bono's Italian restaurant back in California. So now I can picture Sonny and Cher singing "I got you babe" as I enjoy my pasta..... but I ended up ordering Salmon instead which leads me to the food. The food was a solid 3. Tasty but nothing I can't make at home myself. There just wasn't anything remarkable, or any one item that stood out especially, but it wasn't bad. In reality, you're not coming here for a five-star meal, you're coming for the ambiance, and to have a good time. You absolutely cannot be in a hurry if you choose to dine here. They messed up our seating arrangement and we ended up waiting an extra ten minutes, and apparently it didn't only happen to us. When you have so many people and a limited staff to organize everything, this is just an end result, hence the sign out front hiring help. Be patient, walk over to the outdoor tiki bar and wait it out with a cold beverage.

The food was awesome! Looks like they are always very busy! I recommend this place, great service and great ambiance! Huge portions, awesome decor, everything was on point! Highly recommend!

A Garlic Lover's Paradise! I recently dined at this garlic-centric restaurant, and I must say, I was pleasantly surprised! The service was outstanding, and the food exceeded my expectations. I had heard great things about this place, and it truly lived up to the hype. A must-visit for any garlic enthusiast!

Food was great! We got lucky and got a corner table off to a corner and there was a cute little light and plants everywhere. The service was above and beyond!!!! This place is so gorgeous and it is usually super busy but we got lucky on a late weekend night that we didn't have any wait!! Was a great choice to spend an anniversary here with the staff

Amazing service. Swordfish was wonderful. Loved the decor & ambience. They do not accept reservations. Go early & have drinks outside on the large patio while you await. Definitely a must do when visiting Daytona!

First off. This restaurant is so fun and the food and food service was incredible. However, the front of house staff really negatively impacted our dining experience. We came with a baby and we knew we would have a sizable wait, which was as expected. When we gave the hosts our name and number and how many folks we had, we shared that we would need a high chair. When we were seated after our wait, another team member told us we couldn't have a high chair, just a booster seat, at our table due service logistics and we would have to wait for another table. We were sent back to the waiting area with no information as to where to wait, how long and who to connect with. I feared we would be cycled back to the bottom of the list and have to wait to get to the top again. No one told us anything Thankfully after 10-15 minutes we got another table (in a beautiful area with a great waiter). However, in all of that debacle, no one ever apologized, no one offered us water, no one let us know what ti expect for a wait. A restaurant that is this established has to do better. Over communicate to the front of house staff in your needs for accessibility and ensure they have them documented correctly. Looking back I should have asked for a manager after they had us leave the first table and if that happens to you and your family I encourage you to do the same.

Always a great experience. The entire place is just a very eclectic restaurant. There is always something interesting to see and on Fri/Sat/Sun there's usually live music. I come into town a couple times a year and this is always on my list to come here. Having a neat restaurant is good, but what dives this place higher is the food. The food is fantastic. At the heart of this place is an Italian restaurant. I have sampled many items through the years and all have been outstanding. 100% recommend

We were greeted really warmly on a Tuesday night by the hostess. Our waitress , Kim, was also super friendly and helpful as it was our first visit to the Garlic. I had the swordfish special, it was good , but didn't need the coulie. I would have preferred it just blackened. My boyfriend's New York strip was cooked to perfection. Both were generous portions so no room for dessert.

This was our first time stopping in New Symrna, we usually are just passing through. We were in town for a fishing tournament we decided to eat at The Garlic. The ambiance was breathtaking. The outdoor atmosphere was inviting, pleasant and beautiful. There was plenty of areas to park and several entry points. The food was really good. I had the seafood boil. It had scallops, calamari, shrimp, lobster and more. The only thing missing was the delicious broth sticking to the food. For an appetizer we had mussels. I recommend dipping the table bread in the mussel sauce. It's amazing! It didn't rain when we went, but because all the outdoor trees, in the indoor seating area, plants see wondered if it did rain what they do and they said they stay open but it does get quite wet. No need for sweaters. It's quite humid and my thought was that is due to all the greenery. Recommend and would come back.

We finally made it down to NSB last night to visit The Garlic. We got there at 3:55pm and it was raining medium hard. The line was also about 40+ people long. (There were some members we couldn't count because they were hiding under umbrellas in the courtyard) We were offered an immediate table but we said we preferred the bar if available. She said go on in, it's wide open. We chose corner seats next to some apparent regulars. Dillon, the bartender, took excellent care of us. He even looked up an obscure drink I found. He didn't have all the ingredients so I ordered a suggested alternative which was great. He also brought us some crunchy freshly baked bread and a roasted clove of garlic. Lots has already been posted about the specials menu on the lasagna and the garlic. They also supplied printed menus for the regular menu. We got the special soft shell crab. OMG it was huge!! I am glad we decided to split it. The good thing though was it had a lot of meat and the coating was so good. The remoulade was perfect. Usually when we get fried food we start picking off the coating but not this time. We also try to avoid creamy sauces, but we almost finished this. Caution thrown to the wind! In between courses, I asked Dillon about the chicken pitchers hanging around the bar. He said they are for house wine. Well, you know I had to have some house wine after that! So cute! Dillon got the story behind the chickens for us too. I got the sacchitti purses, four cheese, with giant shrimp special. The shrimp were enormous and perfectly cooked. They were satisfyingly shrimpy and had a nice little crisp outside. Hubby got the veal scallopine. The veal was good but would have preferred a more traditional sauce. It was just a little overcooked. I thought he should have sent it back. He knew it came with capers and artichoke hearts but it didn't have that scallopine taste. His pasta was under sauced so he didn't eat it and we brought it home where we have sauce. We could have requested extra sauce, i;m sure but he was also full. After a bit of me grazing my plate and us talking, I decided to see the dessert menu. It's not printed, it is recited. When Dillon go to the cannoli I told him to stop and get the cannoli. :-). It was chocolate chip. This is my favorite dessert and we both enjoyed it. The ambiance has been widely covered, I'll just say there are many virtually private nooks with just one table and also areas for large parties. They have one outdoor bar and 2 indoor bars. The outdoor bar opens early for those in line. All in all, a very enjoyable date night!

My recommendations is free garlic dip which was delicious for garlic lovers and the mashing of garlic was sensational. The artichoke spinach dip was tasty as well if you are not into garlic and a good appetizer choice. The server was extremely knowledgeable of the menu and helped me and my table understand what is the most popular dishes.

Every time we've been there was a bit of a wait but well worth it, but only if you, like me enjoy garlic.

Beautiful atmosphere. Our waiter was super friendly and prompt. The live music was lovely. The Eggplant Tower is delicious. Except the linguine was a bit overcooked. Really loved the New York Strip Steak that is cooked in Ill Forno (the oven), but it was a touch salty. It came out perfectly medium rare which we ask for. The meat is so tender and juicy. The restaurant offers a nice variety of wine by the glass. I will definitely go back when I'm in NSB.

This is more of an attraction than a great restaurant. No reservations accepted. Good luck finding close by parking. 2 hour waits on the weekend. Large outdoor waiting patio. The hallways and dining room are spectacular. No other restaurant like this anywhere! Worth waiting 2 hours? No. The daily specials written on uncooked lasagna noodles was unique. The roasted garlic was good. The bread was just ok. The huge lasagna was an ooooh but the $40 cost was an oh no. Most of our party of 9 agreed the food was just above average. Our server was a dud. Busy with no personality. Overall a great place to say you've been. Return intent? Nope

The Garlic is becoming one of our must do foodie spots when we visit family in Florida. The ambiance of nature and truly outdoor lights and vibes gives a special feel. And the FOOD!!! And the DESSERTS!!! And the SERVICE!!! This is an unforgettable dining experience.

We got there just about 15mins after they opened so luckily there was no wait but even if there was it would have been worth it. We had the garlic soup, garlic mussels, and the pasta pomodoro. There's free bread with a baked garlic head that's also delicious. Everything was very good and server was great.

A rustic hot spot in NSB. Love the bread and roasted garlic they put on the table, so good you can't stop! Live music and string light sets a romantic. nice vibe. Waiter was friendly and on par. Good homey Italian/American food done right. The steak was perfectly cooked but a little on the saltier side. If it wasn't for that I may have given five stars.
