Yelp
A beautiful classy place, The Garrison was a treat to visit. The staff were amazing, Fiona, the lovely lady who took my reservation was super nice . Kevin the owner made everything fabulous and made sure we were happy.
We visited on their first day of Sunday brunch, at the tail end of their service so they were out of some things, which we took as a good sign.
The place is really nice inside, great decor, seating and a fabulous bar.
Celebrating friends , we got a nice bottle of bubbly to start with. The menu had some nice unique items, even some brunch starters, which we had the deviled eggs. Served with bacon jam and bacon on top, these were gone in a flash , enough said!
The carb board as I call it, Mary's pastry board as they call it was amazing, my kinda board! Cream cheese and fruit danishes , croissant, homemade biscuit and butter and jam, with some fruit, this was heaven. Highly recommend this!
They have a great section on the menu called Sunday sugar , but we're out of what wanted the Nutella crepes. Lots of other goodies though.
Also on the table we had the Garrison eggs Benedict, minus the hollandaise! They ran out but we took it naked! Nice full crab cakes, beautiful poached eggs, asparagus over a warm biscuit. Served with home fries, but they were out. So they have us fries, which were skinny, crunchy and so good.
Tomato and goat cheese avocado toast, nice thick bread, slathered in avocado, with lots of delicious toppings, we added smoked salmon, and it was wonderful, very filling.
The roasted beet salad, was fresh, chopped, beautiful salad, great dressing, but light as well.
Then we had a round of espresso martinis, a little on the vanilla side, I like mine stronger. But still drinkable.
Their hot espresso was nice too.
The wild berry basil refresher was nice but a tad sweet, but a pretty drink!
The perfect gentleman was my kinda drink, nice and strong. No rush at all cocktail was a good refreshing one, love the tart taste.
The French 75 , a classic, delivered, perfect Sunday drink.
They also made us a round of empress gin and tonics for when we sat outside, after we'd finished brunch. They were nice to let us stay there until we were done , even though they closed at 3. Their sister restaurant, Margaux's, next door stays open later. Is another great place.
We loved our time here and I'd love to come back, maybe earlier brunch! And to try the dinner menu.
They definitely have the hospitality thing down. The food we had was great too.
Make a reservation though! I imagine this place will be hopping especially with brunch.
