The Garrison Review - Bermondsey - London - The Infatuation

"Every area needs a certified ‘nice pub’ and Bermondsey’s is The Garrison. An easy breezy gastropub with that whole exposed brick and vintage lampshades thing going on, it serves delightful small plates like courgette flowers, tomato and ricotta salads, and quality sourdough to mop up all the leftover jus. The snacks and small plates section of the menu is perfect for after-work group meals alongside pints but there are also some larger pricy options if you’re feeling properly famished." - Heidi Lauth Beasley

The Garrison was the perfect place for our wedding. Everything from the initial planning with Bridget all the way through the wedding itself was done extremely well, and the recommended vendors were excellent also. It was clear that the group worked great together and it felt like a totally seamless experience from start to finish. A special shout out to our bridal attendant, Fatima, who was with us throughout the night and took care of so many little details. The view from the ceremony, cocktail hour, and into the reception was perfect and all of our guests had an incredible time. Food and drinks all excellent as well.

We could not have asked for a more perfect wedding at The Garrison! The location is absolutely stunning, and the layout of the outdoor ceremony garden, cocktail hour room, reception room, and additional outdoor space worked incredibly well! We also got so many compliments on the food! While the venue itself is amazing, the team at The Garrison is what really sets it apart and what made our day so incredible. Annie, our wedding coordinator, was such a pleasure to work with and made the entire planning process leading up to the wedding as well as the wedding day itself as seamless as possible. Her professionalism, expertise, and care really made it a perfect day. The Garrison also has an incredible list of preferred vendors. We ended up choosing nearly all of our vendors from their list and could not be more happy with how everything turned out! Overall, we can't recommend The Garrison highly enough!

A friend of mines got married here and it truly is a beautiful place! The outdoor gazebo, great mike, cocktail hour near the ceremony place for pictures, then the hall further down over looking nature! It was a really pretty place. Majority of the staff were great, especially James & Mia who served dinner and drinks and James the Bartender who made us a special cocktail at another bar. I will say the main course (vegan meal and steak meal) did not live up to everything else, there was a lack of flavour in both and the steak meal was never cooked enough. There were also two bartenders who worked the cocktail hour and at the end of the night, both females that had a very disrespectful attitude the entire night. Other than that, its a really pretty place for any of your events!

We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect place to celebrate our wedding—and a huge part of that is thanks to Annie, our wedding coordinator, who truly went above and beyond to make our day seamless and unforgettable. From the start, the venue itself was beautiful, well-kept, and exactly what we envisioned. But what made the experience truly exceptional was the level of care and professionalism Annie brought. She handled every detail with a calm confidence that immediately put us at ease. On the day of the wedding, we had a few last-minute changes that could’ve easily caused stress—but Annie took it all in stride, with grace and a can-do attitude. Whether it was adjusting the timeline, coordinating with vendors, or handling unexpected logistics, she managed everything effortlessly and made sure we didn’t have to worry about a thing. Thanks to her, our day ran smoothly, allowing us to truly be present and enjoy every moment. We are endlessly grateful to Annie and the entire team for helping create such a magical experience. Highly recommend this venue to anyone looking for not just a beautiful setting, but an incredible support system behind the scenes.

I went to a wedding at the Garrison. The atmosphere was beautiful and the wedding went off without a hitch. We were staying in a hotel not too far from The Garrison which made everything convenient. We had a dog at the hotel with us I wanted to take him back a doggie bag of steak we did not eat. They refused to give us a to-go box and said they don't do that in the banquet hall. I was very disappointed because the food was just going to get thrown out.

We feel so incredibly lucky to have been married at The Garrison. The venue is so beyond stunning, combined with our fantastic photographer, our wedding pictures are truly the most beautiful photos we’ve ever seen. The scenery is so stunning and romantic. The venue works tirelessly to upkeep the property and they do a phenomenal job. We were catered to from the start of the day to the end. Anything we needed we knew Annie and Fatima had our backs. I got to meet Annie a while back, she very quickly eased any questions and concerns we had. We got to meet Fatima the day before the wedding and she was immediately ready to help and get us ready for our big day. We live out of state so getting everything organized was a bit messy on arrival, but between Annie and Fatima, they were ready to rip into the mess. So grateful for them to organizing the absolute perfect day for us. It could not happen without them. On top of the staff being so ready and receptive to us, the FOOD! The food was so beyond, every single one of our guests raved about how incredible the hors d'oeuvres at cocktail hour, their meals were, and dessert! We are so lucky to have celebrated our love at this venue and we truly look forward to many anniversary visits in the future.

The Garrison exceeded our expectations and was the most perfect place for our wedding. Annie was exceptional to work with- so accommodating and flexible with clear communication. Our guests were so impressed with the scenery- the natural backdrop of the Hudson valley was all the decor we needed. The FOOD was also absolutely delicious and super high quality. Annie and her team made planning a breeze. we knew as soon as we entered the Garrison for our tour that this venue was the one for us. The price point was realistic and I really loved how they accommodate one wedding per day- making it a very special and personalized event. We ended the night with a campfire amidst the mountains while other guests danced the night away inside! We are so grateful and overjoyed that we chose this place for our special day!

All I can say is WOW!! I had my daughter’s bridal shower here this past Sunday. From the moment I saw the place and met with Bridget I knew this was the place. Bridget is wonderful, and a delight to work with. Bridget goes above and beyond to make sure everything is taken care of before during and after. Richard the person in charge and Joey the bartender did a phenomenal job! The food was amazing and presented beautifully!! Thanks again for a beautiful shower!!

Yelp
Super impressed! Between the estate itself, the food and the staff. We had a surprise 40th birthday for my best friend. The Garrison is a stunning place, the decor and views are beautiful. They let me come to decorate prior to the event & I had the absolute pleasure of meeting Adam. What a gem! His staff is amazing. Everyone was so helpful and attentive. Last but definitely not least the food and beverage was awesome! All the food was so fresh and very tasty. A lot of us are industry people so we are super picky about our drinks and everything that Jenn made was on par to perfection! Also the two women who were staffed to serve our party, thank you so much! I will definitely recommend this place for any event. There was a wedding going on next-door and I was able to see the set up before the ceremony. Stunning is all I have to say. Again, thank you all so much! Shout out to Marie for being so nice and helpful! & and Chef! Thank you for all the helium tank help.

Yelp
We attended a wedding here. Venue is beautiful. Views are great. It was a 65-70 degree November day so the couple was able to do their ceremony outside. Cocktail hour had a table of meats and cheese, bbq station. Which was very good. They did do past apps and the servers were constantly checking in if we wanted more or anything else they offered. The service at the bar was quick. The signature drinks they created for them were so so good. The windows overlooking the mountains from the main room were gorgeous. Prime sunset spot also. Bathrooms was huge which was also a plus so no one was waiting.

Yelp
Wonderful venue for a wedding or special occasion with excellent food and magnificent views of the Hudson Valley.

Yelp
This was a fabulous venue for wedding. Weather was perfect for outdoor ceremony. We moved indoors for reception, and everything was top notch. One small issue for management to make note of. Apparently the lights in the restrooms were on a timer. Automatic upon entry, but would shut off before leaving. Glad I had flashlight on my phone.

Yelp
DO NOT have your event here. They will close the facility, restaurant and host other events during your special day. They will not respond to your inquiries and also take your deposit. The management and wedding planner are rude, discourteous and disrespectful. They also DO NOT allow you to even taste the food and drink before your wedding. What a disappointment.

Yelp
We had a surprise birthday party for my wife last night. The manager James Brown (u gotta love the name) put together an amazing 5 course dinner with great wines for each course. James runs a tight ship. The help were on point. It went as smooth as could be. Super friendly, Not rushed, just right. The food was just sooo good. The salmon course was cooked perfectly, then after the salad, duck breast was super. Cheers to the chef. Everyone had the time of their life. The ambiance was amazing. Highly recommend this restaurant! Memories of this experience will last us forever.

Yelp
This teview is solely focused o the golf course and golf experience. There are some things to really like here, and some things that need improvement. First, the course layout is challenging, but provides ample opportunity to score well. Second, the views are tough to beat, with sweeping Hudson River views, and glimpses of West Point across the river. Third, the weekday price point is close to Westchester County courses, making the experience very wallet friendly, cart included. MONDAY - FRIDAY Early Bird (before 8:30am) $45 18 holes $55 Senior* $50 Twilight (12 noon) $50 Super Twilight (after 3pm) $40 Junior* $15 Lunch Special $60 Ladies' Day Wednesday (incl. lunch from the Terrace Grill) $55 Carts are outfitted with GPS for easy distance calculations. There is an amply supplied club house with the usual assortment of hats, shirts, and equipment. There is a large covered space with full bar and grill just behind the club house. Food is generally fresh, tasty and reasonably priced. A large screen TV hangs in the corner for those looking to kick back and chill or catch up on the day's events. A new feature is the ability to order food from the cart - great if you are in a hurry. Overall, almost everything one could ask for! BUT...tee boxes need attention, our cart's food order was not noticed by the employee busy watching TV, and we had to wait despite using the cart order feature. My burger was almost raw, which we could not fix from the 10th fairway. The cost for a bag of 10-15 range balls is ridiculous. So a little attention to detail here could kick this up to a five star report...
google avatar

Manny C.

Yelp
I love this place and have been playing there for many years but I was very disappointed to learn golf cart arrangements after being told when I made the reservation that it would be 1 cart per player. I get it but just tell the truth.

Yelp
Came here for a wedding reception. I wanted to give it 4 stars, because the staff was on cue when it came to clearing dishes, and adjusting your seating area, but overall it took a while between the starter and entrees to get our food, and then took a long time for cake and coffee. There weren't THAT many guests at this wedding... perhaps 150? It was a decent size wedding but this place seemed to have plenty of staff to make it work. Even if the food was "made to order" (we had a selection of salmon or braised beef) it shouldn't take that long to feed us after the starter. The reception started at 3:00, and the restaurant made us wait in the tiny reception area because they weren't ready for us. Around 3, we had appetizers of cheese and a medley of hot food while the bride and groom were busy with pictures. We didn't adjourn to the dining room until maybe 4:30, and the starter came within 20 minutes. Dinner wasn't served for over an hour and there was such a gap in time that the band had people dancing BEFORE dinner to kill time. It could be a 4 star, but this review is 3 stars for the slowness of the kitchen, and the long gap between the starter/ entree, and cake cutting/ cake and coffee served.

Yelp
My review is based off the experience I had with Annie while figuring out venues for our wedding. Out of all the venues I spoke to she was absolutely the warmest and most genuine contact I dealt with. She made us feel like we were family looking to get married at her home space. Although we did not book this venue due to the size of our wedding; I would highly recommend The Garrison and Annie. Both the space and she are absolutely beautiful inside and out!

Yelp
My husband and I got married at this venue and we absolutely fell in love with the Hudson River views. Annie, our event manager was amazing! She knows so much about weddings and followed up with many details to make sure our day went perfectly! Our guests raved about the food so kudos to the chef!! The garrison is a beautiful venue with great food, service, employers and views!! This is a perfect place to get married!!

Yelp
From the minute we walked in we felt so welcomed! Mr. Brown showed us around and took care of us, he spent a few minutes explaining the garden to us as well as the views. We Came for a quite dinner, and although the views were awesome nothing beats the FOOD! We started with the rock shrimp tacos, they were great with a slight touch of spice perfectly executed. Then we had the lobster sliders, the lobster itself was exceptional...but the rolls do not skip the bread it comes on. We had upon recommendation the flatbread heirloom tomato and feta cheese...WOW the cold asparagus soup was very very good and quite refreshing on a warmer day! For the main course we had the lobster risotto, the best and lightest risotto ever! The flavor burst as soon as you took a spoonful, it will not disappoint and will be your new favorite! Desert...oh boy desert! KC the executive pastry chef outdid herself with the birthday cake ice cream as well as the cheesecake compote. I can say this is a new favorite spot!

Yelp
I like the service here. They pick up your clubs at your car and they wash your clubs when you're done with the round. What i dont like is the maintenance of the course. I felt like it was a bit dry and the grass wasn't well kept. The greens are always fast though. Overall i like the course, and I'm willing to trek from lower Westchester here, especially when I can find deals like on Living Social or Groupon for this course.

Yelp
In an effort to save you time (and you can read on), book The Garrison today for your wedding...do not wait and do not spend any more time looking elsewhere. We had the perfect wedding at The Garrison with hands down the nicest and most attentive event manager Todd Smith. Our guests are still raving about the wedding, which may be the highest compliment for all of our planning.   If you're willing to place some trust in our review, then schedule some time to visit and see the venue and grounds. Our wedding was in mid-October 2016 (Saturday) with a spectacular view of fall colors, wonderful weather, and a gorgeous sunset. We couldn't have asked for a better day. October is a prime month for Hudson Valley weddings, you should expect to book at least one year in advance.  When we booked in February 2015 for our wedding in October 2016, we were the third couple to book a Saturday during the month (so 3 of 5 Saturdays in October were booked 20 months out).     We had worked with Todd and throughout the process he made us feel relaxed and confident in his ability to deliver on everything we expected. You should consider his list of exceptional vendors.  We picked few vendors from their list, including:  Florist (Judy Bilotti, Designs by Wildthings); DJ (A Perfect Blend Entertainment, David); Overnight accommodations (Hyatt House in Fishkill, NY); and Transportation (West Point Tours).  We also picked a few of our own vendors, who were also exceptional, including: Photographer (Brian Hatton); Videographer (15 Minutes of Frame, Kaipo); Jazz Band (Alan Quinn); and Rehearsal Dinner (Piano Piano Wine Bar, Anne).  All of our vendors were absolute professionals, were on top of everything, and did the most amazing job.   The venue has an upstairs area where the bride and bridesmaids got ready, the space has good lighting for both hair and makeup.  We had a first look and took pictures on the grounds, which are very picturesque. The wedding ceremony was outside on a small, well landscaped lawn with spectacular Hudson River views.  The rooms where they have the cocktail hour and reception have floor to ceiling windows, also giving almost completely unobstructed views of the Hudson River Valley.  There were plenty of food options and everything from the cocktail hour and entrée to dessert were delicious. The Garrison is keen on farm-to-table options with impeccable presentation.  It is important to note, the Garrison does have a minimum guest count for Friday and Saturday nights, when we booked it was 125 for Friday and 150 for Saturday.

Yelp
The veiws were amazing, unfortunately the golf cart was not. The cart was very dirty and had very, very poor excelleration, the two guys we were playing complained about theirs and we couldn't keep up with them. I was pleased to see a ball and club washer on the cart only to find it filled with mud. The carts are supposed to be thoroughly cleaned after each use (COVID) I assure you these were not.

Yelp
My fiance and I decided last minute on a Friday morning that we wanted to head upstate for a weekend out of the city. Our choices were limited because we were calling around on a Friday morning but we found the Garrison after doing a few google searches - we completely lucked out. When we first arrived we were a little worried because there were actually two weddings happening at the same time so we imagined late night noise, drunk people pulling the fire alarm etc. Still we decided to see how it went. We started out by dropping our stuff in our room, which had amazing views of the hudson and the nearby mountains. It was quite large and had a wonderful shower similar to what I've seen at places like the St. Regis or Ritz. We then went down and had a drink of the veranda before dinner and took in the views. About the only noise from the weddings was a few cheers from one wedding and the other taking pictures on an adjoining porch - so basically no issue at all. Just as we finished up drinks, the Restaurant Manager James Brown came over and told us all about the property, and gave us some wonderful suggestions for sites to see the next day as we were driving around. Dinner was wonderful - the portions were well-sized and we walked away feeling good but not overly full. One thing to note here is the dessert. The chef does "interpretations" of common foods and they are unreal. My fiance had a dessert based on the Girl Scout Samoa cookie - it was a caramel sauce over vanilla ice cream with a sort of heath bar toffee. Incredible. I opted for the PB&J which was a strawberry ice cream sandwich of sorts with a melted peanut sauce for dipping. Honestly I can't do either justice....save room for it and give it a try. After dinner we headed back to our room and fell asleep around 11pm - we never heard a sound from either wedding. I am not sure whether the walls were thick or we lucked out with two very chilled out weddings but either way, we were never bothered the entire time. Overall, our experience was wonderful - it was exactly what we were looking forward to, a nice getaway within an hour of the city, quiet with good food. We've already decided to do the same trip again next month. The only suggestion I would make would be to keep the spa open on Sunday. Bonus ideas for a day trip - head over to cold spring for the afternoon and walk around on main st....

Yelp
This place is perfect for a small wedding. Great for an outside ceremony. It has unbelievable mountain views; a perfect place to watch sunsets. The layout is practical. The outdoor ceremony space leads right into the cocktail room which is equipped with a bar, restrooms, and a wall full of windows so you continue to see those beautiful mountains. The cocktail room then leads into the reception hall, which also has a bar, restroom and beautiful views. All the areas are simple in design but maintains flow and have modern finishes. The staff is well trained. Not only is food brought out in an orderly fashion but the staff is constantly working to make your experience one to remember; from little things like the way they bring out the food to refolding your napkin and resetting your silverware while you dance. The only recommendation: They just need a bigger dance floor. Ha ha. :)) I was an out of town guest and I absolutely loved it here.

Yelp
Great venue to attend a wedding. Fantastic views. Located in a very rural and secluded part of the area.

Yelp
First the gold course is great- The highlight may have been our lovely dinner at the club. We sat outside and the food was incredible. They have an outstanding wine list for a small golf club in rural New York. The staff was wonderful and very accommodating. Definitely a place that I will frequent in the future.

Yelp
Fantastic venue for a wedding. The scenery is amazing, perched above the Hudson river with panoramic views through the mountains. Staff was very friendly and accommodated the requests of the bridal party very well including making a signature drink for the couple. Food was also excellent and the staff was like an orchestrated army. I'm not sure if the band was with the venue but they were also excellent. Highly suggested to make a special day even more special.

Yelp
We had our wedding here in May 2017 and I'm happy to report the Garrison and their staff are absolutely perfect. From day one, Annie worked with us to plan our wedding day just as we envisioned it. She was full of great ideas and adaptable to our needs. With her calm demeanor, Annie makes the job seem effortless and as a result she completely eliminated the stress that can normally accompany wedding planning. I had complete confidence that our wedding day would be flawless. Day of, the entire staff brought their A game. They were professional at the level of a Michelin star restaurant; somehow helpful but also blending into the background so as not to distract from our friends and family. And did I mention the food is divine?!

Yelp
My sisters wedding was held at this venue. The service was outstanding. The people here were extremely polite and very willing to help. The food here was great as well. Thank you for an amazing time.

Yelp
Course is beautiful. Driving range is OK and putting green way below average. The staff is quite nasty, came here for fathers 50th birthday and we had rain in the afternoon which is fine, but making the turn on 9 no food and we were met with nasty staff who were not accommodating.

Yelp
My wife and I were looking for a place to go for brunch with close family and friends to celebrate our 10 year anniversary/surprise elopement. Someone referred us to the Valley Restaurant at The Garrison and we couldn't be more pleased. We worked with Mr. James Brown to set up a semi private section of the restaurant for our little group. Mr. Brown was super accommodating, enthusiastic and helpful. He went above and beyond to make sure we were well taken care of. The staff on the day off was very professional and attentive and the venue was spectacular with mountain views from inside the restaurant. It was a magical event that we will never forget and we will be forever grateful that we held it at The Garrison.

Yelp
It took us awhile to write this review because there are no words to describe our love or to express our thanks for The Garrison and for Annie Rozycki. Our wedding was PERFECTION and far surpassed anything we ever imagined it would be. To begin, working with Annie was one of the reasons we loved The Garrison so much and quite honestly, one of the reasons why we booked it. Annie was calm, organized, detail-oriented, and knowledgeable, and we knew we would be in good hands working with her. Annie is able to work with any type of bride, even the most intense and neurotic (like myself) and make their wedding visions come to life. She is responsive and on top of everything that needs to be done and makes the entire wedding planning process seamless. The venue itself possesses beauty that we didn't find anywhere else on our wedding venue search, and we looked EVERYWHERE. The clean, crisp, and minimalist decor is a perfect complement to the beauty of the Hudson Valley. The food at The Garrison was amazing and this was something we were looking for in a venue. The Garrison offers farm-to-table cuisine, and focuses on quality over quantity. Annie and the chef also worked together to ensure that all dietary restrictions of my family would be met, including eliminating pork from the menu completely, and meeting my father's extreme vegan diet. We feel so lucky to have found this incredible venue and to have had a wedding that was a little bit different from traditional NYC and Long Island venues. Our guests continue to rave about our wedding and about the beauty of The Garrison. We hope to continue to visit The Garrison for years to come and dine in the restaurant or stay at the hotel.

Yelp
Great food. Service slightly awkward. The bartender tries hard and best time is for brunch on a Saturday morning in the summer. Awesome views over the Hudson.

Yelp
I had my wedding at The Garrison, and could not have been happier with our experience. It was the best day of our lives, and the venue had much to do with that! Everything from the planning being streamlined and efficient (which we all need during hectic wedding planning mode), to the excellent food, to the picture perfect setting, we could not have been happier. If you're a bride, make sure to build a few hours into your day to get some pictures on the greens, our photos turned out incredible! Highly recommend this venue for any brides or event planners!

Yelp
For the golf. Really, really challenging course. But a great course nonetheless. The views, the layout of the holes. Incredible vistas on the back nine. Superior sunset and can see West Point, the whole Hudson River Valley from 10 and 11. Front will be tough. Bracketed in on both sides w forest, lotta trees, many elevation changes, hard to read distance so bring a range finder, that will help! Lotsa doglegs, front and back nine. Play and learn to play here, and you are a better (and more humble) golfer. Super great track. Could use some investment on cart paths and some of the grounds where dry turf/hard pan exists. But overall good and course is excellent.

Yelp
Have your wedding at the Garrison. Work with Annie Rozycki. It's the best decision we made as a couple. Annie is a life saver. She is SMART and knowledgeable. She gives you choices but helps you narrow it down when you aren't sure. Can't decide between light brown and tan napkins? Whether to change your ceremony location at the last minute from outdoor to indoor when temperature drops to 40s and it begins to snow in October? Didn't know you were supposed to put together a basket for the bathroom? That guest cancelled two days before the wedding?? She will answer all of your questions, big and small. She will guide you and help you during the most stressful times of planning your wedding. She is decisive, kind, and thoughtful. There is no one else that could have better planned and orchestrated our wedding. The venue is also SPECTACULAR. The view of the Hudson Valley is stunning. Because of the floor-to-ceiling glass walls, you can appreciate the view from anywhere. The food was fantastic too-- they even provided gluten-free meal for one of our guests. I am so thankful to Annie and the staff at the Garrison. Reach out to Annie!!!!

Yelp
From our initial meeting with Todd Smith, Even Coordinator, about a year ago, we knew that The Garrison would be the ideal location for our December 1st wedding. Because there is so much to talk (rave) about, I will discuss each piece of The Garrison that makes it the most perfect place for a wedding! The Space The venue consists of two separate rooms- one that is ideal for the cocktail hour (The Hudson Room) and the other that is perfect for the reception (The River Room). Both have floor to ceiling windows with magnificent views of the Hudson River and the mountains beyond. No matter the season, the view is spectacular. The dance floor is large enough for the whole crowd and placed perfectly so that you can take in the view. Although we got married in a church, there is a beautiful space outdoors for a ceremony, if that is required. The Bridal Suite is a perfect space upstairs that is large enough for the entire wedding party to leave all of their coats, bags, makeup, suitcases, etc., with there still being plenty of room to relax for a moment between the cocktail hour and reception and touch up makeup. We stayed in Room 202 on our wedding night. It was very spacious, with a king size bed with a cozy duvet, plenty of space to sit down and relax, a fridge, Keurig, toiletries by FACE, and a lovely walk-in shower. It is an ideal place to unwind after the most perfect wedding day. The Event Coordinator Our Event Coordinator was Todd Smith. From the moment we met Todd, I was completely confident that our wedding would be absolutely perfect. He is the definition of organized and can put a vision that is floating in your mind, into reality. Todd is totally accessible by email and telephone and will answer any little questions that you may have, however silly or insignificant that you feel it may be. Throughout the course of the year, he kept us on track with reminders of what we should be doing and when. I could literally write about him for hours, but I will simply say that he made the wedding planning process a joyful, fun, exciting, easy, perfect, relaxing experience. He even reminds you to breathe. Perfection in the form of an Event Coordinator. The Food Oh. My. God. The food at The Garrison is absolutely divine. It should not come as a shock that the food rating receives a 26 from Zagat. From our initial tasting of the passed hors d'oeuvres, we were in food love. The choices are endless and you simply cannot go wrong. Our food package included 7 passed and 2 stations and people were raving about the deliciousness of it all! The salad course was fantastic and then came out dinner. This is not your typical wedding food. The filet mignon was cooked to perfection and the salmon was to die for. Everyone is served simultaneously at the table so that there is no waiting and no time for food to get cold. And trust me, the chocolate covered strawberries are well worth it. They were phenomenal. The Bar There is a bar in the Hudson Room during the Cocktail Hour, followed by a bar in the River Room during the Reception. The packages include top shelf liquor and even include additional upgrades. The bartenders were great...so pleasant and certainly knew how to mix their drinks. The Garrison has a "no shots" policy which I loved. The Wedding Day We arrived at 2:45 PM and were ushered in by Todd and his amazing assistant, Bridget. From the moment we got there, everything was perfection. The room looked AMAZING. It was perfectly executed and attention was paid to every detail. Todd and Bridget ensured that everyone was having a great time and there was enough staff available to ensure that everyone's needs were met. The Coat Check and Valets were very attentive and there were no issues. Cocktail Hour went smoothly into the Reception. The courses were served as planned, dances were danced, drinks were drank, and the party was perfection. I may be a little bit partial, but I'm pretty sure that our wedding may have been the best wedding ever, thanks to Todd and the entire Garrison staff. The evening ended and I was sad to see it go. However, Bridget and Todd escorted us upstairs to our beautiful room, where we were greeted by champagne, cookies, cake, and chocolate covered strawberries. We were able to relax and just enjoy the absolute quiet. The next morning we went to brunch at 11:30. Although check-out time was 11, we were able to leave all of our stuff (and there was a lot of it) in the locked bridal suite. This may not seem like a big deal to the reader, but trust me, it was. Big thanks to Todd, Bridget, Nick, and EVERYONE at The Garrison for making our wedding day truly the best day of our lives. It was the perfect start to our life together. Our guests had a fantastic time and have said that it was the best wedding that they have ever been to. It truly was a magical winter wedding!

Yelp
I'll start out by saying that it has the makings of a quality course - well maintained, nice very, good difficulty. HOWEVER, cardinal sin of a quality golf club IS NOT MAINTAINING A GOOD PACE OF PLAY. We had a six hour round waiting at nearly every single hole. This after reading on the website "And for added speed of play, we offer tee times at 12-minute intervals," and also being reassured by staff that they were trying to speed up the pace. Are you kidding me? Is this what the $90 green fees are for? I think part of the rationale is that they had an awesome group-on deal that has driven a lot of traffic, but should that be my problem? Com'on garrison, get your act together.

Yelp
Nice golf track perched on the Bear Mountain with some spectacular views of the Hudson River and West Point. If you are playing for the first time and from the tips, it will surely be a test. Narrow fairways and some ridiculous pin placements. Not many forgiving spots. Plenty of blind shots. Some areas need better maintenance, but it was totally worth the $60 value (12:40pm tee time found through golfnow.com). Slope is 134 from back tees but I thought it should be a bit higher. Problematic for right handed players who consistently hit right to left with many trees on the right side. I would not advise walking this course if they offer that option. Next time, I will try their restaurant. Supposedly their weddings are highly professional.

Yelp
Did I mention that Kristen (?- if I remember correctly- fabulous blonde waitress for our table) Hiked up a hill on the golf course with a tray of apps for the bridal party while we were being photographed ... you rock the socks lady! Most of the rest of us rode on a golf cart!

Yelp
On September 17, 2016 we had our wedding at The Garrison, and I honestly can not think of having it any where else. From Todd (our day of wedding planner) to the staff the night of the event, the view, and the weather everything was absolutely perfect!! I remember coming down stairs the morning of the event (was getting my hair and make-up done in the on site bridal suite) and thinking, this is exactly how I wanted it to be. Every detail at the Garrison made our day extra special. I will give an extra special "Thank You" to Todd Smith. I believe he just might be the worlds best wedding planner. We were a little bit of a unique couple as we planned our wedding at the Garrison from Los Angeles, CA. When we first started, I was very concerned that the time change and distance would make this process difficult. However, Todd made the process seamless. From recommending local vendors, to detailed communication, and logistics help; Todd was accommodating, thoughtful and so very helpful! We went with every vendor recommendation he made and we were not at all disappointed. In fact, the whole event was perfect! If you are considering The Garrison for your event, look no further, this place is the best. I honestly, can't thank Todd and the staff at the Garrison enough for making my dream a reality.

Yelp
Our son and "daughter" were married at The Garrison on Sunday, August 18th and I just had to sit myself down and write a review of this magnificent venue! From our first meeting with event coordinator, Todd Smith, last year, I knew our son's wedding was going to be a beautiful event at this magnificent setting. Todd's staff is responsible, professional, friendly, extremely helpful, and cordial at all times. Todd is very well organized, extremely knowledgeable of all wedding activities and outside venues, warm and friendly, supportive and always professional. The Garrison is breathtaking with its amazing views of the Hudson Valley. The outdoor ceremony was set up beautifully and Todd met our every need! The separate indoor "cocktail" room was airy and lovely with fantastic views of the Hudson River and mountains. It's immaculately kept rest rooms were large and convenient to all our guests. The food at the cocktail hour and reception was plentiful, deliciously prepared and served by a most professional and friendly staff! Our guests were well taken care of and truly enjoyed not only the fabulous Garrison, but all the beauty that surrounds it. The gardens, walkways, and patios are surrounded by well kept colorful and beautiful flowers and plants and the interior rooms are immaculately kept, bright, cheery and spacious. Upon the bride's arrival, her every need was taken care of in a gracious, efficient, professional and supportive manner. Upon our arrival, along with our son, we were met with the same professional, kind, friendly and supportive staff....always with a smile....and so very complementary! Our guests continue to call us with amazing remarks about Justin and Marcy's most memorable and lovely wedding! Our BIG thanks and appreciation to The Garrison for providing us with a wedding day that will forever be cherished and treasured in our hearts and in the hearts of the new Mr. and Mrs. Justin Bonita! Yelp
I've played here twice, the last time on Veteran's Day. While there was no food or drink of any sort available on Veteran's (everything was closed) the course itself was in great shape for early November.

Yelp
As the Father of a bride who told me afterwards that I "gave her her dream wedding", I have to start with The Garrison and our Event Manager, Todd Smith--and give great credit to both for making our night one to remember for the rest of our lives. From the first time we visited the venue, and were inspired by the gorgeous views and scenery, the beauty and charm of the two large and complementary rooms that provide the "stage" to set the wedding, and Todd's vision, enthusiasm, "know-how" and demonstrable organizational skills--we (my wife, my daughter, and my now son-in-law, as well as his parents) all knew instinctively that this was the right place for us. Now, in the wake of a weekend that exceeded all of our individual and collective expectations, I can confirm that we made the right decision. There is nothing that I would change if I could. Even though it wasn't warm enough to hold the ceremony in the outdoor area that overlooks perhaps the most beautiful part of the Hudson, it didn't matter one whit. We got the photos we wanted outside, and the indoor setting was just as spectacular. Todd was great in instructing all of us in the Wedding Party as to how the processional would work and how to handle our "parts". Then, almost within seconds of the conclusion of the ceremony, Todd's "troops" cleared the area, and the cocktail hour--replete with unbelievably delicious hor d'ouerves that received rave reviews--kicked off. From there the evening moved smoothly for the next 5 hours--with Todd at the helm. The flowers -- from a vendor recommended by The Garrison -- were just right, and were priced fairly and appropriately. The dinner entrees and the wedding cake (which is included in the price charged) were all terrific. In conclusion, if you are getting married--or are a parent throwing a wedding for a child--then you would do well to not only consider The Garrison, but to get in touch with Todd and set up a visit. You won't regret it. It was one of the best decisions that my family (and our new in-laws) and I ever made.

Yelp
Annie and the Garrison staff are phenomenal. My wedding was absolutely perfect thanks to their help. I've received nothing but compliments about the venue, the food, the staff and the overall scenery. It is a stunning location and I've never been happier with the amazing customer service. Annie makes you feel like family! If you choose the Garrison for your special occasion, you'll have made the absolute best choice!

Yelp
I had my wedding at The Garrison in October 2013 and it was the most beautiful event. I couldnt have picked a better place to get married. Annie Roznicki was my wedding planner and she was helpful the entire way through. On the day she was organized and executed everything the way I wanted. The venue itself is gorgeous and guests complimented me many times throughout the night and after on how great the wedding was. I also got my hair done the day of the wedding and they did a great job. I highly suggest this venue for your wedding.

Yelp
We had our wedding at The Garrison in July 2016 and it was all-around amazing. Incredible ceremony space with Hudson River views, exceptional food (a far cry from "wedding food"), renovated/clean interior with floor to ceiling windows, and top-notch service. We worked with Todd Smith, one of two wedding coordinators at The Garrison. Todd was responsive, organized, imaginative, and decisive. As our wedding was in the evening, my now-husband and his groomsmen were able to get in a round of golf at The Garrison in the morning, which was a great way to kick off the day. Our wedding day went off without a hitch thanks to The Garrisons's excellent staff. We just got the photos from our photographer and they are gorgeous! A month later, I am still receiving compliments about how wonderful everything was on our wedding day. The Garrison is truly the total package.

Yelp
Have your wedding here, and stay over the night before. From moment one of booking this place (with Todd Smith) we received nothing but first class, on hand knowledgeable service. Nothing was left to chance, every detail was covered and it was the most stress free day of our lives. Once you book you get a list of all of the vendors they commonly deal with, and everyone that I dealt with was wonderful, with the exception of Hotel Sierra ( I hope you're reading this Garrison). The wedding planner was absolutely exceptional and was there for us through the entire process (planning to reception), as was the entire staff from the Spa and The Garrison Hotel. There was nothing to worry about and I couldn't have asked for more. The day before, get a massage for all of your bridesmaids, along with mani/pedis, and while you're at it the day of the wedding wake up and get all of your hair and makeup done on site. Stop by the proshop before you get all done up for a great lunch, that is if you plan on eating on your wedding day, which I did b/c you don't want to see me hungry=mad! The food at the reception was amazing, you can NOT beat the views! Take a golf cart around the grounds to take your wedding pictures, I just really can't say enough about everyone that works there and the simple beauty of the building, facilities and location.
