I usually love coming to this place. My wife and I have been coming here for years. I ordered the gaslight burger as I usually do and added bacon. I don’t know why but today my burger tasted extremely salty. The onion rings were decent and my wife’s chili tasted fine, but the burger Tasted like it had a whole cup and a half of salt mixed into the beef. It’ll be a while before we come back..

True definition of a dive bar without feeling like a dive bar! I really liked the inside. It reminded me of old school bar with the mirrors and booths with glass. Great food and service. You can't beat the prices either!

A great hidden gem of a local bar serving up classic, homemade comfort food. The menu features burgers, appetizers, and a nice variety of sandwiches, plus games like darts and Golden Tee for some fun on the side. Good food - burger/sandwich. I tried their homemade seafood chowder. It was good. The soda drinks are refillable just for once (stated in the menu).

Hate to do this, because I've been here several times without a bad experience. This is directed at our server, not the Restaurant. Our server failed to take our order after about 25 minutes, despite walking over near our table multiple times to serve others. When a member of our party went up to the bar to pay for the drinks we got when we were seated, the same server basically asked him to move out of the way so she could continue serving beer to other guests. I'm just really disappointed in the service we received, but I'll still come back some time.

Small & cozy neighborhood bar. Super friendly staff that answers questions & remembers who you are. Go in by yourself, with a buddy, your spouse, your family or the whole gang. Heck, go in after a school or sporting event. Kids aren't unusual at The Gaslight. Despite it's size, they (kids) never seem to be in the way there. Drink pours are never short. Beer or booze. I'd have given 5 stars, but that only comes with a big bourbon selection! *Hey, shelf space is limited, so I get it ! 😁 Good daily specials. By that I mean no matter what it is, it'll be good. Full of regulars but always room for the new visitor. Sidle up to a stranger at the bar & I swear - chances are, you'll know them by name shortly... ---> And with few new stories to tell. A great place to stop for lunch, a game, some drinks & some laughs.

The Gaslight Burger with fries is excellent. The atmosphere is moody, sports bar, with classic rock and your favorite Cincy team on the TV. I'll be back and I live near Dayton.

There are few places I would rather spend my money, and nowhere I would rather blow some cash on dinner and brews. Great staff. Great prices. Solid food. Solid portions. Friendly patrons. I love this place and it loves me.

Food was great, got the 1/2 lb hamburger felt like 3/4 pound! Nicely priced. Tried a few beers from local craft breweries. Service was great, friendly bartender.

I've driven by for years (decades actually) and my 90 year old father mentioned going there in the past, so we decided to meet friends for dinner. The fact that they also had a nice local craft beer selection was another win. Also private parking lot out back. Atmosphere is pleasant, iconic, art deco style booths, lots of memorabilia on the walls. Easy to find a table on a Monday night, not too loud. Simple yet varied menu. Patty melt and onion rings good, quarter pound cheeseburger a bit well done, half pound Gaslight burger was delicious. Completely forgot to take photos of food until I was done! Great to patronize a local place!

Can't go wrong with this establishment the staff is great the food is amazing. The staff literally make you feel like you are at home and it is family style. My favorite days to go are Wednesdays and Sundays. The burgers are great but you honestly can't go wrong with anything on there menu.

Old school spot been there for years. This was our second visit. The service was excellent, Jack was new, and he was on it. Ge was very friendly and kind. We had margaritas, the first one was so so, but once we mentioned it, Jack and the bartender made sure number 2 was good. We had at least 2 other people check on us. We later found out one was our chef! We talked to him on his second check-in. Very nice guy.We had potato skins, nachos, and grilled ham and cheese. The skins were so dang good that my friend ordered a second batch to go. These were like when potato skins first hit the scene, real cheese, lots of bacon, and not cooked too hard. I ate my leftovers for breakfast the next day. Can't wait until the next time.

Not to be confused with the pretentious mess on Ludlow in Clifton, the Gaslight Cafe is a Pleasant Ridge fixture since the 80s, at least that's when I first remember them. Definitely the local hangout for Pleasant Ridge. An eclectic mix of folks and food makes this one of our favorite places for a late lunch. The daily special is a treat and the burgers and wings excel when compared to the chains. As always, local is best. Great service. Good food. Decent value.

One of the best and longest running bars in Cincinnati! Very similar to Cheers where everyone knows your name. This local pub has some of the best burgers I have ever had. Gary and his family own it and the crew is sweet. Not to mention they support local community events. Great place to come have a beer and maybe some food and catch up with friends and neighbors. So blessed to have this gem in my neighborhood! Parking out back and located in the heart of Pleasant Ridge.

Our group from the Y tried to go to Quatmans for lunch today. The place was packed and there were no spots on the parking lot. One of our group suggested The Gaslight Cafe, and seeing as it was relatively close by, four of us went there. They weren't as busy and we found a table easily. We were waited on immediately and with cheerful charm. 3 of us ordered burgers and the fourth ordered a club sandwich. My burger and fries were delicious and everyone else also enjoyed their meal. For a relatively small establishment, I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food and service

We went here today based on a City Beat recommendation and it was well worth it! The bartenders were super friendly and took time to offer samples of their draft beers. Food was delicious and my cheeseburger was probably the best I have had in quite some time. Prices? You can't beat them!! Cheeseburger & Onion Rings, Turkey Club w/chips and 2 craft draft beers for less than $35. The vibe is super laid back with lots of memorabilia on the walls. We will be back for sure!!

Evening crew is fantastic, but there's a lady that works there some weekend days (who also works at the coffee shop down the road and is the same there) that is one of the rudest people I have ever had the displeasure of interacting with. If she were to get fired this place would be a five star stop 7 days of the week, but as it stands I can't go there on weekends anymore because I know it will just be an awful experience.

Best fish and chips outside of England. Good beer selection on draft. Will be back. Incredible value.

Ate here for lunch yesterday. I had heard a lot about their burgers, so that was primarily the purpose of my visit. Nice neighborhood vibe. Their deluxe hamburger with chips is only 6 bucks--wow--what a bargain ! And it tasted great.The daily special was a patty melt, which I liked also. Had a bowl of vegetable soup which was the soup of the day. Also a Rhinegeist lite beer. Service by Gina was very friendly, attentive and informative--she gave me a sample of the beer to see if I liked it. She seemed like she might possibly be a co-owner. This place is right in the heart of Pleasant Ridge about 2 or 3 doors from Ridge Ave. Scope it out for a cheap burger and beer.

I live right down the street! This is the perfect place to get a cheap burger, I love the patty melt and chips for $7 you honestly can't beat that for a good meal now a days. When you walk in this bar has a very home town vibe, the bartenders know your name if you come in there enough. Service is always good even on to go orders! They are also open decently wait which is a plus!

I don't know how many times my Mr. and I passed gaslight cafe. Whether driving by or going to Everybody's Records. Either way we wanted to stop by and check it out. A few years later and finally got to try it! Located in Pleasant Ridge next door to Everybody's Records. Across from Nine Giant Brewing. It looks small from the outside but once you open the door, you will be shocked by the inside. It's open filled with Nostalgic pictures and beer decor. You seat yourselves. I don't know what gave away that we were new but the server noticed it. She asked if it was our first time and we told her yes. I can tell the clientele were regulars because they knew their names. My kind of joint.. There's something about this place that's so cool. Has a dive feel. The music selection was even rocking! Love the classic tunes they were playing! The menu is simple.. soups, salads, appetizers, cold and hot sandwiches. Impressed by the beer menu as well. Great craft beers to go with any meals. We started off with Listermanns IPA Both my Mr got the cheeseburger $7.50 with all the fixings (Swiss or American cheese) you get chips with your sandwiches, but I was interested in getting a side of waffle fries for 4.00. Our meal came out less than 10 minutes! Wow and very impressed with the burgers! The buns were fresh and burger hit the spot for me!! Super juicy and well cooked to perfection. Fries were hot and coated. Our server super friendly and down to earth. I regret not coming here before but now I can see us being regulars. Thanks for the great experience!

I am always sure to have a pleasant experience at the gas light cafe. Good food, drinks, and people. very "hole in the wall" family run business vibes if that is what you are looking for.

Soooo I'm super picky on the cheeseburger front. So take that into account when you read this. Found this dive and it was right up my alley. Dark and dimly lit. Jukebox on the wall and all the basics. And an old school cash register. No POS system here. Drinks were cheap and cold. Came here before and after a Reds game. The return trip, for food. The food is cheap and the perfect sort of menu for a place like this. Being picky on the cheeseburger front, I had to ask our server her opinion. She said it was ranked the 4th best in the city. I'd like to know where the first 3 are because it has to be better than this. Got a lukewarm, frozen patty with little flavor to it. My gut told me to do chicken salad but I was persuaded. Dive bars that do fresh, hand Pattied burgers are hard to come by and I need to ask if they are fresh or frozen. It was missing the bacon . Our server corrected our bill to remove the potato skins, which she didn't have to do! Potato skins were hot and fresh. As the night progresses it gets loud in there, so you can't really hear the music. Definitely a cool spot for drinks. 4 stars cause frozen beef :|

Everything you'd expect from a little dive bar: darkly lit, open late, plenty of beer drafts/cans/bottles, diner food menu, and more. The kitchen closes early compared to how late they stay open (1030p vs 1a closing), which is my primary complaint. But overall a cool place to sit in a booth and share a beer with friends. Would return.

Bomb little hole in the wall sports bar with a great craft beer selection. The booths are probably going to be taken on any given gameday but the folks are friendly and will let you know when they're leaving so you can snag a seat! Delicious burgers, tasty sammies, and I even had a salad with grilled chicken that was fresh and crisp! It's right next to Everybody's Records so be sure to stop in there too!

If you like a more dive like experience with a homey feel, this is a great spot. I actually went on my first date with my current partner here and it clearly worked out! Decent local beer selection on tap but only have domestics in bottles/cans. The potato skins are good, but the burger I tried was only ok. Overall great spot to watch a game and have a local beer. Would maybe try somewhere else for dinner if you don't want bar food.

Another day, another burger and rings! Love it! And it's soooo close to my house. Gaslight is a small bar/restaurant specializing in burgers. I had the Gaslight Burger and it was perfect. Big and juicy with lots of flavor. And the onion rings came out crispy just like I requested. Beers and burgers! Ain't nothing wrong with that!

Let's talk about cheap quality beer and delicious I mean delicious burgers.... messy get cheese all over your face and hands burgers... Gaslight has been in pleasant ridge for a long time. Walking in you can tell it's a bit of a local dive bar vibe. you will find intimate booths and long wooden bar. Typically it's filled with locals but during the pandemic they have switched gears. You can get carry out beer and drinks along with delicious foods. Burgers, chicken, fries standard bar food. It's all good!! If you follow them on fb they post what beer they have on tap for carry out (you can bring your own growler) along with the daily specials. We usually hit them up on the weekend for the double burger and fries deal! Sooooo good after working in the yard all day. If you think about it.. it's cheaper then a McDonald's Big Mac.... and 1 million times tastier.. If you need some delicious burgers in your life and a refill on your growler for the right price and you like supporting our local places... then get to gaslight.... And I mean get there now!Double Cheeseburger

It's not fancy and honestly that's my favorite part about it. Cheep beer, and a good burger. Service was great. Was greeted and served right as we sat down. The burger was just as straight forward as it gets, but to me that's what made it amazing. I don't need fancy topping or some gimmick. Everything was hot and fresh. And I loved the dive bar feel of the place. Dimly lit, photos of random people I assume are family on the wood panel wall. I only wish I lived closer so I could walk here and have a few more and walk home.

Disclaimers: I LOVE dives. And clearly, it's not yelp reviews that have kept this place in business since before you were born. That said, good dive food. Was surprised to learn they're known for their burgers, while good, I don't know that I'll wake up in a cold sweat dreaming of one any time soon (and yes, I've had that happen and I am unashamed). Though I totally dig that they're served with chips and a pickle spear. The chips were super fresh (I feared the humid summer might have gotten to them - but this was NOT the case). I know I've been here before, though it's been a while and I think I had the wings which I remember being tasty. The onion rings are totally fantastic! They also have a fine selection of beers. Prices are solid and they have daily specials. And above all, service was fast and friendly! Situated between Everybody's and the comic book store, this place would make an awesome addition to your rotation and certainly an awesome date spot or place to catch a televised game (Golf was on when I was there on a Sunday afternoon, not my thing... I had no idea anyone still cared about Tiger Woods, but I guess that's entirely unrelated). If you're down with a casual lunch served with a side of Cincy nostalgia and washed down with a brew, you should definitely check this place out!!

I just love this place in all! Staff are very sweet, quick, good accomodations for those who like to sit against the wall or in a cubby space and overall just a pleasure to have in the neighborhood :) Thank God for Gaslight Cafe!

paid 14 bucks for the worst fries i've ever had, a terrible burger that tasted like they used a frozen patty. eating the burger actually made me feel physically ill. oh and it was $3 for a fountain soda drink that was 30% ice and in a tiny cup. i regret my experience and wish i could have my $14 back so i could order a pizza.

Nice little hole in the wall dive-bar to serve you up a good ole' thick American burger. This isn't your boujee craft burger joint, reminds me of that classic backyard burger off the grill we all enjoy. It's a good cheap bite & the waffle fries were done up right. Grab a cold one while you're at it. If you got time to kill, there's a cool record shop next door.

I like going to the Gaslight. There is a friendly, small community feeling when we go to eat. They have a great variety of drinks. The food is reasonably priced and very good. I the service is friendly and we know many of the servers. They take the time to talk with you and know your favorites.

Awesome time at Gaslight today! My husband and I both had the double cheeseburger with fries special for $7.75. What a steal! I was taken aback when our server asked if tartar sauce, lettuce and pickles on the burger was cool. I am typically a traditional ketchup, mustard, pickles kind of girl. The burger KNOCKED OUR SOCKS OFF! If tartar sauce on burgers is wrong, I don't wanna be right. Also! Loved the crowd, everybody, I mean everybody welcome. I wish I knew the name of the guy who was our server because he definitely went out of his way to try and make sure that everything was right with the order and seeing as the kitchen was about to close he still wanted to make sure that we got everything that we wanted to order. Stale chips and oily / greesy and not crunchy onions paired with a decent burger ? Quick service but at the price point for two burgers and two onion rings that are greesy id like the onion rings done better.

Met up with a few friends on Friday night after a crazy work week, enjoyed a cold local craft beer, cheeseburger and fries. Love crinkle cut fries, so good, burger was okay and love good local ice cold craft beer. Stop by when you're in the Ridge.

Oh, the many times my lady and I passed by this spot and swore we'd try it someday... Why did it take us so long to finally commit and do it? It was so good! The way a classic local burger place should be! As soon as we walked in, we were surprised by the size of the inside, much bigger than we'd expected from the outside. The place was loaded with epic nostalgic signs and pictures. It felt like a vintage burger joint. Great music too! The server told us to sit anywhere we like and the place was pretty busy with lots of local regulars that the staff all knew by name. Even some of the guys from Everybody's Records next door were there for some tasty burgers. The menu was loaded with goodies; burgers, sandwiches, wings, chili, salads, and more. They also had a nice selection of beer, especially craft beer, as well as some wine. My lady and I both opted for a pint of Listermann Hop Level 9000 IPA (delicious brew, by the way) and a couple Gas Light burgers. She got hers with American cheese and I got mine with Swiss. All burgers come with chips but my lady and I were eyeing the waffle fries so we got those too. Everything was excellent and we hardly waited for order at all! These were definitely some of the best burgers we've had in a while! Thick, juicy, super tasty, and cooked just right! Still begs the question of why it took us so long to finally come here. Well, I can guarantee it won't take us that long to come again!

Watch your bill...we had a blonde female Bartender who served us add weird amounts to the check...eg....Menu said 6$ (not actually because I cannot remember...serves as an example)...she would charge 6.74. I am not the person to be quiet but those with me did not like confrontation. I have not been there since...5 years...but their burgers are good and the "divey" atmosphere is fun. Good food ...just pay attention.

I wanted to check this place out because I saw that it's burger was voted one of the best in Cincinnati last year. Being a burger connoisseur I had to see if this was true. While I can say that my overall experience here was a good one and I did enjoy the food..I will have to concede..unfortunately..that I cannot agree with this burgers high rating. First let me say that the service we received here was great. We came on a crowded Sunday afternoon and the place was packed. We were able to find a seat right away and a server approached us immediately. He has friendly and incredibly fast with everything. The restaurant itself had a really homey feel to it. I've seen many others describe it as a "dive bar" but I didn't really get that vibe. It was comfortable and welcoming. The staff here seemed to genuinely enjoy working here and that always helps creating an inviting atmosphere. We started out with an order of the chicken strips because literally as we were walking in we overheard a group passing the entrance comment that this place had some of the best chicken fingers they have ever tasted. I would have to agree..they were just about perfect. Went really well with honey mustard. The fries we ordered with our burgers were of the crinkle cut variety. Not my favorite style but they were well made for what they were. Now onto the burger. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger with onions, pickles, mustard, and ketchup. The burger patty itself wasn't that bad. It had an okay flavor too it, but nothing that stood out too much. Two main issues I had with this burger: #1 The onion. I enjoy having onion on my hamburgers, but the massive onion they slapped on this one completely overpowered everything else. I ended up having to take most of it off because after a couple bites I was completely onioned out. #2 The bun. I have always said that a lot of times the bun can make or break the burger. A great bun on a mediocre burger can elevate it, a crappy bun on a great burger can lessen its quality greatly. Unfortunately the bun they used for this burger wasn't anything special. It was average at best..like something you'd buy a pack of at the grocery store. Very disappointing. This burger has potential, but the one that I had that day I could not put as one of the best in Cincinnati. Overall I liked this place and I would absolutely go back and give it another try. The chicken fingers were amazing, the service was amazing, and I enjoyed the atmosphere. Maybe the burger will improve, you never know.

Great spot for a cheaply quick lunch. Unpretentious little gem of a cafe next to Everybody's records --which is an added bonus. $5 chicken salad sandwich and great service. Will be back often some I work nearby.

Hole in the wall dive bar, this restaurant has quality bar food and pitchers of domestic beer. I got a Psychopathy from Madtree and a bacon cheeseburger and was so happy with the midwestern bar food. Its a down-home place to go with really nice servers and the service is quick. My friends deem this bar a go-to for the food and inexpensive drinks. All around wholesome place to be.

I have to admit, Gaslight Café was truly something else. The menu is great and the atmosphere is perfect. Gaslight Café has an incredible Double Cheeseburger, that was my first time trying it here, and I was surprised with how good it was. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area.

I've attempted to order from this place twice now and both times extremely disappointing The first time I ordered delivery through Grubhub ordered a cheeseburger and potato skins - put notes on how I wanted the items for the chef and they were ignored completely by the restaurant, first I thought it may be just Grubhub but the second time I ordered proved me wrong The second time I ordered through Postmates - same order same notes for the kitchen - completely ignored In fact I wasn't even given potato skins this time I was given wings ... I almost thought I was given the wrong order But it appears they just don't care A note I really suggest of you get their sandwiches to go or for delivery- ask them to not give you chips (as if they would listen) because my burger was completely absolutely disgusting and inedible because they have these overly salted chips with the burger and the burger was covered I mean drenched in the salt from the chips - absolutely disgusting had I known that I would of nixed the chips completely , I'm pretty disappointed because the burger was pretty good the first time but the second not so much due to the chip fiasco - I would have loved to have the potato skins again but not sure what the hell happened there - not sure why food allergies aren't read when ordering by the kitchen - that's kind of fucked up , I may give them one final try (third times a charm right ? Let's hope ) just to make sure whether I will never order here again or not

We had heard legendary things about Gaslight Cafe and finally made it over to check it out yesterday. I have to say, even with really high expectations -- this place delivered. When you pull up and see signs from the 70's in the window, you KNOW the place is legit. We were not prepared for the amazing dive bar atmosphere. We walk in there are darts, tv's, a long bar and some old school booth tables. We plopped down at one of the oldest booths I think I have ever seen and without even looking at the menu ordered up two gaslight burgers (as per servers suggestion) These puppies came out dripping with grease. And if you are like me and like your burger char grilled with juice sealed in and flavor oozing out out it from the 50 year old grill -- then you will like this place! The burg had a solid bun and was pure Americana. Topped with: lettuce, tomato, pickle, onion, ket, mut, and mayo and just how I want my burger, simple and delicious. The price is ridiculously cheap especially for the portion size. We order two and ended up taking half home. One thing I don't like though is when your burger comes with chips. I HATE chips! Burgers are supposed to come with fries y'all everybody knows that. Not a huge deal just make sure you know that going in so you can order a side of fries to split because they were really tasty too. Follow the greasy grill goodness smell lurking from the road and enter burger heaven. You will not be disappointed.

Cincinnati injustices: That Gas Light Cafe has about five percent of the name-recognition or notoriety of Zip's or Arthur's or Terry's as a local bar and grill, and about 110 or 150 or 85 percent of the merit, depending on which of these joints you're comparing it to. Gas Light's eponymous burger is one of the few Cinci burgers that deserved the hype bestowed upon it in that Cincinnati Magazine "Top 40 Burgers" feature a couple of years back. It's big, juicy, and hugely satisfying, with just a bit of char-broiled flavor. The waffle fries and onion rings are nice, too, and the wife gives big props to the patty melt. (A chicken sandwich was a dried-out, flavorless dud, though.) Contrary to a couple of reviews here deeming Gas Light a "dive," it isn't even close to one. But this place has got "it": It's just a classic old neighborhood bar and grill with decades to develop its own unique ambience. It's even family-friendly: We've seen a yuppie dad with his two preschoolers hanging out by the dartboards, as well as other families with kids, looking totally comfortable and fitting in just fine. As far as I've been able to tell, given the dim lighting,Gas Light is as clean as a whistle. Service can be a little uneven, and rough around the edges, but everybody that's waited on us over three or four visits has ultimately been friendly and informative. Reality check: With Gas Light, Emanu, Pleasant Ridge Chili, and the new-ish taco truck, Pleasant Ridge might have more interesting dining options per capita than either Mt. Lookout or Hyde Park does. I have no idea whether there is any substance to the rumor that some of Pleasant Ridge's most interesting businesses are about to be eviscerated so that a boring pharmacy can be built here, but it would be an absolute travesty if it happened, especially considering that there's a vacant commercial lot down the street.

Oh Gaslight and your #4 best burger in Cincinnati, how you taunt me every week.... Gaslight is your typical neighborhood dive bar. And it's great. There's always a game going on on one of the tv's, and no matter what day of the week there are always people in the place, just hanging out, relaxing, enjoying dinner, or beer. They're food is cheap and excellent! They have the 4th best burger in Cincy according to Cincinnati Magazine, and it shows! Personally though, I tend to lean towards their grilled chicken sandwich more. I recommend getting the waffle fries instead of the chips. Delish! You want beer? You can totally get beer! All sorts of different beers. You want a Smirnoff? Not gonna happen. (although I'd love them to carry one!) Want your beer in a nice frosted mug? Coming right up! I love the frosty mugs! It makes the beer even better in the summer with a big juicy burger. The tables are a little old school, with small benches, but its nice for a small group. They have a tin roof so you won't get cell reception inside most of the time. Except at table #8. But if I come in and see you sitting at my table we're gonna have issues ;) lol Oh, and there's a parking lot behind the building, and you can either go in the back door under the awning, or through the teeny alley walkway to the front.

Got this for takeout during the quarantine of 2020. Folks were super nice, order was quick, and everything tasted great for a very reasonable price. They ran specials daily and offered draft beer for pickup as well. If you didn't have a growler, no judgment, plastic jar will do. Can't wait to hit this place up for a beer and burger in person once the quarantine is over
