The Gem and Keystone Tavern

Really nice tavern. We had dinner. At the ribs were amazing. We were able to bring our dog and sit outside, which was a nice picturesque setting. Our server Tommy was super friendly and attentive. Nice job guys

We had good foor there . I had the fried sailfish and my daughter had the Tavern burger We were very happy with them. Service was fast , and responsive. I would refer this restaurant to friends and family , so yes you .

My wife I are out of town and waiting for our room to be ready on a mini vacation. This place was tucked in off the main roads to be quiet but close enough to be wonderful. Decent amount of parking. Walking in on our first time you can choose the upstairs dining area or downstairs tavern. It was a touch windy to sit out on the two patios they have but would be great during a warm spring day, summer time or early fall to eat, drink, talk next to the small creek. Both levels have a full bar and draft beer from Shawnee Craft with bottles of mainstream beer. We chose the spacious downstairs tavern, we were greeted by Todd the bartender and presented both food and drink menus. The food the cooks made is wonderful. Wood fired salmon with crisp vegetables was so good that my wife cleared her plate. The burger and fries I got was juicy and fresh the fries were crisp. Todd knows his drinks and is very astute in bourbon. On our way out we talked to Jamie the manager on duty and she talked to us about some of the history and general information of the venue. All the people were very polite, and extremely friendly. We will definitely be going back when we’re in the area again!!!

My husband and I decided to go here for dinner. We live nearby and have passed it probably hundreds of times, but have never gone in. We are so happy we finally did. The food was excellent! Our server, Tommy, was awesome! Great place! We will definitely be going back!

This was my second time here. Staying at the Shawnee inn. The food was amazing. Fried pickles. So good and light and crispy. Beer Mac and cheese was a hit! Catfish was delicious. The best were the wings!!! Best wings I’ve had. With apricot sauce amazing. I’m upset I didn’t order more to go! Ohhh the drinks are spot on. We had champagne mixed drink for 2. Rimmed with cinnamon sugar. We had 2 rounds. And for dessert we shared the brownie with ice cream. I would have given 5 stars. ⭐️ but…. The service was slow and it wasn’t that crazy busy. Drinks came out to us in a few minutes. But my appetizers took so long that it came out with my meal. I would definitely come again. And totally recommend anyone to try it! Maybe today was a little short staffed.

Horrific experience here. Came on a Tuesday night, 6:30 and didn't get the food until almost 8. When it finally arrived it was cold. Asked the staff repeatedly and was told "we are busy" and finally spoke to the manager. We were all about to walk out when the food arrived. After complaining again, they took 50% off the total bill, though I really didn't want to pay anything. Not the final meal to our big family vacation we were hoping for. Will not return.

In the context of inexpensive, casual dining The Gem & Keystone checks all of the boxes. The setting is beautiful, the service is friendly and the food is excellent. Be sure to check out the path behind the property that runs through the historic Shawnee Inn and Golf Club property down to the river. It's only an eight minute walk to some truly remarkable riverfront scenery.

This is an excellent local establishment! Dined here 3 times in a week. Had the Beer Mac and Cheese twice (removed the bacon, personal choice), I definitely recommend adding the Buffalo Chicken, it goes well with the Panko crust. Ordered the wings one night, lemon pepper, good portion (8) and size, great seasoning. All the food from here over the visits was great! The Blackberry Old Fashioned was my drink of choice twice. The first time was nearly perfectly made, a good bit of strength but still well balanced. The second time was pretty good. They are well priced for the portion.
