The GeorgeTown Club

I have not actually been in The Georgetown Club. However, it appears to be cozy and quaint by it's outside appearance.

I have been as a guest two times and I absolutely loved it. The food was fantastic. One night I went on a Wednesday for burger night. Another night I went on a Saturday night and had the pork chop and it was one of the best pork chops I’ve had. I found the weight staff to be, lovely and helpful and knowledgeable. They have a good wine list and the prices are reasonable. I look forward to being invited back.

Private venue. Not open to the public. Food is great, staff are better. Very nice selection of liquor and wine. Facilities are nice and maintain the Old Town feel of Georgetown.

I am saddened how the club has turned out. They stripped the history away and turned it into another generic dining hall. There is no dress code enforced, and there were people in T-shirts and jeans. The respectability and honour of the club has been stripped away. I wish I had not returned after a decade away as the memory of what was better than knowing what is now.

Absolutely stunning and impeccable service! Truely embodies a proper Georgetown vibe.

Went to a luncheon event as a non member. Was not treated like a member. Dark inside.

The food here is really not what you would expect for a fine dining experience. While the restaurant itself is very pretty, and the staff are incredibly kind, the food was meh. The chicken was dry and the spinach was very bitter. The vegan pasta was ok and the apple tart was also pretty dry. I expected a lot more given this is a private club.

Delicious food. Terrific hospitality. I love the old vibe of the building. It's charming and fits perfectly with the historic neighborhood.

Private club with restaurant and bar. The George Town Club is known as one of the most elegant in-town clubs in the United States. The chic but warm atmosphere provides a retreat for its members, with fine cuisine, privacy and gracious service in a setting that fosters relaxed personal enjoyment. The chef is Paul Stearman. Fabulous dinner club in Georgetown with an age old history. This club is private for members only- so if you get a chance to go - don't turn it down. The dining rooms are plush with carved wood. The bar area is more casual while the dining area is jacket required. The menu offers starters , small plates and salads , then the entrees - good choices of items oxtail pasta ,seafood dishes and aged steaks. The desserts are wonderful - try several and share! The bar is well stocked and the wines and liquors are premium.The service and staff are courteous , prompt and attentive. We enjoyed such dishes as the Salmon , Seafood Bouillabaisse, Seabass and Oxtail. All well prepared and delicious. The cheese tray made a great starter- for dessert - Creme brûlée's , chocolate cake and select ice creams. Great place for that special dinner or memorial occasion. Consider a membership ! Great Club !

I was invited to an event held in the George Town Club. From start to finish everything about this venue felt luxurious and elite and I soaked up Every. Single. Second. of it! The staff was so attentive to all our needs. The ambiance was warm and everyone was just so good to us. The passed hors d'oeuvres were delicious! I would love to come here more often.

Wonderful waiter very enjoyable evening. Great prices on wine and specialty drinks. GM very responsive to small misunderstanding. Great evening!

If you are lucky enough to get invited here, accept. This is everything you think it should be, with carved wood paneling and old world furniture and an interesting assortment of characters as members. The food was fantastic and the staff are top notch people. Drinks downstairs, dinner upstairs, then back for drinks downstairs. Fantastic.

Met my father and his friends here for dinner and drinks last night and had a fantastic evening. The lounge area was architecturally stunning, but still the coziest place to get out of the cold for a drink. The dark paneling throughout the building was brought over from a French chateau and installed within the club; their private dining room boasts a former meeting place for George Washington and Pierre Charles L'Enfant. I'm a huge history nerd so I loved learning about the origins of the club. Members only clubs are usually hit or miss as far as the fare. We tried each of the raw bar offerings, which were delicious, but the mussels in a white wine garlic sauce were my favorite. Keep it simple when ordering off the main menu. Two of our friends ordered the steak frites, which was clearly the winning dish. My dad tried a pasta, which he thought was good, but not off the charts. I ordered the ahi tuna with ginger mash and bok choy. The tuna was seared perfectly, but the bok choy was overcooked. The wine list was thorough, and the sommelier pulled a few bottles when he realized he was out of our selection, which turned out to be very nice. Ask for Marty if you go- he's very attentive and witty, and made our evening a great success!

I was invited by a friend for amazing , light lunch ( You have to be a club member or as a guest ) Their menu was quite health conscious friendly . It was quiet & very private . I saw the actor , director : Penny Marshall with her entourage. No guests made any fuss " business as usual "

Came here on a Thursday for an office event. We had a private room on the second floor. This place is hidden on Wisconsin Avenue. The decor has a very old-fashioned feel and the food was really good. We had a set three-course meal. The salmon was cooked amazingly well and the chocolate dessert was devoured by everyone on my table. Personally, not a fan of chocolate so cannot comment on the chocolate mousse.

So happy this club has been rejuvenated! The Newly remodeled Grill Room is so tasteful and Fresh... Exactly what the club needed! Get an invite here if you can as its a Private club, where you will always run into the finest of Washington. The menu and Staff have been upgraded. Exactly what the Club needed. Cannot wait to go back! Great venue to rent for a special event.. You will not be disappointed!

Food: Mediocre. Decor: Musty. Will not return.
