Where To Go Out In NYC When You’re Not Drinking - New York - The Infatuation
"Places that serve non-alcoholic mixed drinks usually only offer a few, and those tend to feel more like a chance to charge $13 for ginger beer and old parsley than thoughtful cocktails. At Getaway, though, non-alcoholic drinks aren’t just an afterthought - they’re the only thought. All of the drinks at this Greenpoint bar are non-alcoholic, including beer, wine, and about 15 cocktails. Besides the absence of alcohol, this place feels like any other attractive cocktail bar with Happy Hour specials, grilled cheese sandwiches, and candlelit tables ideal for casual dates." - matt tervooren
My girlfriend and I stumbled upon this spot last year around Halloween and we immediately loved the vibe. The owner David and his wife are superb—you can tell they genuinely care for the neighborhood and its people. Their son Leo, who you’ll often see darting around with boundless energy, is adorable. Pretty sure he has a little crush on my girlfriend… sorry Leo, she’s taken. 😂

Hi, someone that lived in the neighborhood for over 30 years I really kind of miss when it was just a regular chill spot with benches and people already active in in thriving there. People used to work out there. Yes people used to smoke there but people also used to just get a meaningful second enjoying the view right there. It was great when it was simple and that gate was closed. It’s unfortunate now nobody can enjoy it because they took the benches away. Consumerism really is monster.
It’s funny how everyone says it’s great now yet every time I pass it there’s nowhere to sit and it still always locked. Pre-then removing the benches. It was free and accessible 24 seven. Now it’s basically nothing until “the owner “opens it up . Gentrification at its finest.

Every Sunday, I take my afternoon walk at Riverstate Park, and on my way home, I discovered this amazing spot! The owner, David, and his wife are incredibly attentive and cool. They had a live rock band followed by an opera performance, showcasing so much talent. The food is delicious, and the prices are fantastic. I’m so happy to be a part of this neighborhood

Really great spot focused on the people there rather than just trying to make money. The owner and his family are super nice and care a lot about everyone that stops by. Highly recommend for anyone in the neighborhood or looking for park vibes

This is my new favorite spot in the neighborhood. Owners are delightful and they deserve more attention than they get. Great spot for a beer in the sunshine.
