I recently visited Glass Onion Restaurant and, unfortunately, the experience left much to be desired especially when it came to the food and drinks.
As a professional bartender, I was particularly disappointed with the mocktail offerings. The recipes lack creativity, balance, and depth of flavor. Most of them tasted overly sweet or flat, with no real structure or layering. I would rate the mocktails 2/10 a complete flop. A full revamp of the mocktail menu is definitely needed.
The food was equally underwhelming. It was immediately apparent that the cooking oil had been reused multiple times you can both taste and smell the degradation. This not only affects the flavor but raises concerns about kitchen practices and food quality standards.
The service was mediocre. Despite having an unusually large number of staff on the floor, especially during slow hours, efficiency and attentiveness were lacking. This points to poor managerial planning overstaffed yet under-coordinated.
On a positive note, the ambience is excellent. The decor is well-thought-out, and the space offers a relaxing and visually appealing environment. It’s clear that attention was paid to design and comfort.
In summary: ambience is top-notch, but food quality, drink menu, and service execution need serious attention. With better management and a focus on quality over quantity, Glass Onion could become a much better dining experience.
