The Gnome Bistro

My family and I recently were taking a long weekend in Massachusetts and happened to come across The Gnome Bistro on the way. I am so happy we did. It was so good we decided to stop on the return trip home as well! We sampled a nice mix from both the breakfast menu and the lunch/dinner menu and everything was outstanding. Large portions, delicious food, and very eye pleasing dishes. Just a fantastic spot that hits just about halfway between Syracuse and Boston.

If you are around the Chatham area this is a great place to eat. The breakfast (which is served all day) and lunch was fantastic. The atmosphere was a great background to our conversations. The servers were very nice and friendly. They also have a map of the Chatham area if you need one. I will definitely return next time I am in Chatham.

Best French toast I have ever had. Fluffy on the inside but crispy on the outside. Pancakes were really good too. The theme is fun with gnomes everywhere. Kind of a small place, but had plenty of seats and no wait on a Sunday morning. Good for kids, had high chairs and kids menu. Kids pancakes came with bacon. Parking lot is a dirt lot, so can get kinda chaotic with no lines and hangry folks.

This place is adorable and was recommended by my hair dresser! I never come to east Chatham so we took the drive and it didn't disappoint at all! The food was delicious and I'd recommend it to anyone!

Really great menu. I had the blackened catfish, it was great. The restaurant has a great theme of gnomes and it's nice inside. Staff are great and easy to talk to. It did take a little time to get our meals but I was not bothered by that at all. It takes time to make good food so sit back and have a drink while you wait. Definitely going back.

This was a great place to stop for lunch on the way through! Not far from the highway, the dining space was pleasant, clean, and well decorated. The food items that we ordered was hot and flavorful, the menu was simple and each menu item must be delicious. The staff were all very kind, the seating, serving, and restroom areas were all clean. I highly recommend this restaurant and we will be back!

This is an awesome spot. Excellent service, nice environment and the most delicious food. We had breakfast and everything was fresh, farm to table style. Really great option if you are in the area. Kids loved the unique cocktails. Pancakes were fluffy, French toast delicious, everything was deliciously perfect.

If you ever travel to East Chatham, NY, this is your place to eat. Amazing food quality, premium ingredients, nice atmosphere. We were surprised how wonderful anything we ordered was. It’s a tiny charming place in Upstate New York. Highly recommended!

A cute, buzzing little roadside spot with a lot going for it. Fluffy pancakes, solid hash browns finished with chives, and bonus points for a surprisingly good selection of crafted mocktails and real mimosas. Worth a stop despite the surprisingly few gnomes.

This is a nice little breakfast/lunch spot. As the name implies, gnomes the word when it comes to the decor. And the menu is filled with gnome- inspired culinary creations. The food was good- typical breakfast fare done well. Service was excellent also. Prices are high, but it seems that is the norm these days.

Fantastic breakfast here this morning! The building was easy to find, plenty of parking, and is accessible - no steps to get in - and plenty of room to maneuver between tables. There are two unisex bathrooms near the entrance that are a bit small, no grab bars, but very clean! Natakoa greeted us and was professional, efficient, and friendly! He explained the menu and the business' choice to buy local and high quality products as much as possible. Hubby & I both ordered the Hangry Gnome and our breakfasts were hot & delicious. I was able to substitute an extra gnome cake instead of the potatoes and toast. Hubby had the French toast version. Perfect portion size and they have real butter and real maple syrup! Tea selection for hubby was limited - he likes a basic black tea - they only had Earl Gray or lemon. My coffee was hot & strong and Natakoa was on top of the refills for me. I love the gnome theme, the creative & unique menu, attention to quality, and top notch service. I even bought a tshirt. I wish we lived closer and we will definitely stop back when in the area.

A gem in the middle of nowhere. Our burgers were very tasty and original. Honestly, we didn't expect the food to be as good as it was. I would go back in a second and try something else! The staff were friendly and helpful, very attentive. The food arrived very quickly and was hot. The only served local beer on tap which was cool. Highly recommend.

Breakfast all day? Yes please!!! So delicious! We all got breakfast and it was very very good. Great service. Worth the little drive off the highway. Cute place.

On a road trip and looked here to see what was good nearby! Convenient location off the highway... Well it did not disappoint! Adorable atmosphere and service! It was almost lunch time so my friend had breakfast and I had a Cobb salad....very good!

Nice little bistro with super fresh and yummy food and great service. We were on our way to Boston and needed lunch. So glad we stopped!

Amazingggggg food. My boyfriend and I ate here TWICE this weekend! Our favorites were the Gnomcheros and the Steak and Eggs! Everyone was very nice and service was quick. And the countless gnomes made my day!

Not a bad place .... Was raved about by a friend of ours . Service fell short as they were understaffed .... We visited two times ... food was good but the lack of staff ( which is a problem all around the state) seemed to throw off the flow. Food was " good" not great ... would visit again . We enjoyed the dinner there more than the breakfast .

The food was beyond great..4 of us went on Sunday and got wings, the Thanksgiving sandwich, pasta with shrimp, and desserts. Not to mention the best French fries ever. We returned today and got the wings and chicken sandwich with side salad, the butternut bisque soup, and three different desserts. We all scored this good a 5 out of 5. Bri was fantastic, she was accommodating, funny, and provided us with great service. If you see this cute little gnome don't drive by stop in and have a great time!!!!

The people were very nice and let us eat 5 minutes before closing.Here are some dishes I enjoyed. The margarita flatbread was delicious and had a great combination of oil and crust. The chicken wings are a delightful classic dish;however, I recommend adding a sauce to enhance their flavor. The chicken teriyaki dumplings, were very crispy, the ginger in it went well with the chicken, the sauce was okay.

What a great find Gnome restaurant turned out to be! We were looking for a dog friendly place where the food would be good and this place was it! We shared a Caesar salad, and it had delicious bite sized pieces of bacon. So good. Then we shared bacon wrapped shrimp with horseradish sauce for appetizer. We probably could have quit there, but we also had the battered cod and fries. It was all so very good. The best part was that we enjoyed our food on a picnic bench behind the restaurant while our two dogs ran around in the field. It was a perfect day after shopping at Lea's clothing store in Chatham.

Delicious food. Eclectic ambiance. Great service. I would return for all of the above. I enjoyed our time, we weren't rushed and the apps were tasty, too. I appreciated that my side salad was spinach and not iceberg lettuce or romaine. Just a solid meal.

Who would not fall in love with gnomes . Everywhere . We started off with a delightful bottle of Cabernet and I was quite impressed with the quality . The reason for the 4 stars is the wings . Although good , they came with almost no sauce , maybe Buffalo seasoning . I prefer mine to be dripping in sauce so keep that in mind . Hubby had the Thanksgiving club and that was amazing ! The flavors really worked . Turkey, lettuce, tomato, stuffing and cranberry Mayo . I had the Reuben and it was equally as delicious . I would definitely return when in the area again .

food: good. staff: nice. english muffin bread: excellent. gnomes: not enough. gnomes outside and in entryway to greet you, good amount of gnomeadge in the bar area, number of gnomes in dining room lacking. few gnomes sitting on windows but not all windows have ledges that allow that, only saw one table with small ceramic gnome and one other table with mushroom decor. no other gnome or decor on tables, wall decor also not gnome (or even fantasy/whimsical) related and seems random and confusing otherwise. wanted and expected to be hit over the head and sort of alarmed at the amount of gnome propaganda, this level of expectation led to disappointment. breakfast menu has cute gnome themed names, french toast (delicious) description has funny maple syrup description. do yourself a favor and order some homemade english muffin toast!!

You can always tell when an owner truly cares about their restaurant. The Gnome Bistro is an excellent example of the commitment to quality ingredients & careful preparation of food, the attention to detail and sincere friendliness in the service and the dedication to a genuinely lovely experience. This place is the unique combination of an adorable venue with soul warming food.

A bit further away than I expected but a nice drive and day trip in the country, along with other stops. What a cute adorable little place. Makes you feel like home. We had great service and the food (breakfast) was very good and fresh. Would like to try dinner here to at some point.

We passed by The Gnome Bistro on our way out to the Berkshires and I immediately squealed that we had to give it a try and report back to our gnome-obsessed friend. On our return home from our country retreat, we stopped in to fuel up for the road trip ahead. Whoever's running the show here definitely leaned -way- in on the gnome schtick, and it mostly works. Little gnome statues dot the landscaping; a larger gnome stands in the corner of the dining room, surveying the crowd; and several menu items have been gnome-ified in name. There's even a curious sign in the foyer that indicates they serve meals like "second breakfasts" and "elevensies." Last I checked, these were hobbit meals, but perhaps gnomes share similar dining habits to hobbits? J had the Hangry Gnome -- a bit of a mishmash of breakfast items, including one "gnomecake." I opted for the classic benedict. I was mildly perturbed to discover that the benedict was poached eggs with hollandaise on English muffin bread. Not English muffins -- English muffin bread (which I didn't know was a thing). And sans back bacon. The menu very clearly described precisely what I'd ordered; the dish was constructed as advertised. It wasn't until I got home and looked up some articles about classic benedicts that I validated my confusion: benedicts typically -do- come with a slice of Canadian bacon. The Gnome Bistro provided a thoroughly filling, satisfying meal (I suppose, this was our second breakfast, since we'd started our day with yogurt bowls). If I were hankering for a basic brunch and happened to be in the area, I wouldn't refuse to return. But, I also can't authentically recommend going out of one's way to dine here. It's a cute novelty and adds some much-needed local flavor to an otherwise sparse landscape of independent eateries.

The food was delish... The service was fantastic The ambiance was great. I would highly recommend The Gnome Bistro for any meal. I recommed the Corned Beef and Eggs.. Delish

I stopped in for a burger and fries. Both were very good. The burger was cooked to my order and had a lot of flavor. The server was friendly and efficient. Definitely will be back.

Outstanding restaurant with a fantastic welcoming vibe, friendly staff, great service, amazingly good food, a very clean bathtoom (which means alot) and very reasonable prices. I couldn't recommend The Hungry Gnome in Chatham, NY. Go there and I guarantee satisfaction.

What a wonderful find! Thanks YELP! Stopped here at 3:00 on a Sunday when many other places are closed. The adorable restaurant was quite busy but our service was excellent! The food exceeded our expectations! We had the cloudjelly eggs benedict and a margarita flatbread pizza. Both of them were outstanding! Super fresh ingredients, very flavorful and prepared perfectly! While we didn't have any children with us, we noticed that the kids cups were reusable water bottles with their logo on them! What a genius idea! We will definitely be coming back on our next trip through town!!

food and service is very good I got the meatloaf which was more than one meal for me.they let me have lunch before 11am

Tasty food, Just Perfect. Stopped on our way, just passing through. Clean, cozy, and just a little kitch! Italian wedding soup starter was generously portioned, and the sausage meatballs were perfectly proportioned to fit nicely on the spoon, and in your mouth! East Chatham (French) dip was perfect, Cobb Salad was huge (with a half avocado) and lamb shashuka was just the right amount of flavor - served in a mini-cast iron. Servers were just right. Not inexpensive, but certainly high value! Oh, almost forgot, maybe the best carrot cake ever!

We like the Gnome and will keep coming back. This time, not a great experience with order out. No dressing w the cobb salad No toppings provided for burger as ordered Vegan order was not marked. Oh well.

What a great find. A welcoming atmosphere and lots of gnome decorations make it festive. Has the feel of a home cooked meal. As non locals it's hard to know how welcome you'll feel going into a new place. But we had a very friendly server, and the manager/owner? Was also very nice and conversational. We had a delicious squash dish and yummy turkey club. Great mash and sweet potato fries. Maybe a tad sweet, but we'll definitely be returning.

This is a good little find for an area that doesn't have many food options. We ordered take out because we were on the road. We got three sandwiches and some fries. Honestly the sweet potato fries were some of the best I've had! We will be back and look forward to trying more of their specialty sandwiches!

Nice clean rustic ambiance. Quick service but not rushed. Crafted cocktails, wine or cold beer. I had an infused margarita, chicken wing starter, and meatloaf. All were great. Price was reasonable.

This location on 295 in East Chatham has had some ups and downs. It was for a long time a small restaurant/diner style place that the locals knew. It changed hands a couple of times in recent years, and after some time closed, has just returned with new ownership as The Gnome Bistro. The name and the sign out front alone make you have to stop. Turns out the food is pretty good as well. This place has a breakfast menu and a lunch dinner menu. Breakfast menu features pancakes, as well as your expected eggs/home fries/toast standard plates. They make shredded potato style hash brown/home fries that are a step up from standard. The serve chicken wings that you can get with cloudberry sauce, which is a bitter little berry known to Scandinavian's quite well. It seems they are really taking off with the gnome theme and putting it into the menu. Of course you can get your standard buffalo wing sauce and a few others as well. Menu also has a Reuben, fish and chips, prime rib, pasta dish, build your own burger, and salad choices. Nice selection of local Chatham brewery beers on tap. Even though this is a new restaurant, the crew seems tight, and the place is running pretty well, at least from a patron's viewpoint. to top it off, you can buy a T-shirt, hoodie, or flannel with their logo. Also, there are tons of gnomes all over the place.

Visited Gnome Bistro for breakfast last weekend with the family. The food was incredible with a much elevated twist on some of your classic breakfast dishes. Definitely check them out!

So happy to have the Gnome Bistro in East Chatham! Good people and good food! It's kid-friendly and has some "bad food" (Totchos!) made of very good ingredients. The Ceaser salad is fantastic. We love it.

We went for breakfast this morning only to be pleasantly surprised at what we found. The place has been renovated nicely. Continuity of style throughout. The service was excellent. Professional and experienced servers who were just the right amount of friendly. We had eggs Benedict. The hollandaise was freshly made, not from a packet. The eggs perfectly poached. We have absolutely no complaints about our meal at The Gnome Bistro. We will go back for dinner soon. Just wonderful!

A little bit in the middle of no where but on the way to everywhere is this great little gem. New owners, new menu, updated seating area, as a local all I can say is thank you!! We couldn't wait so we went out on opening night and were not disappointed- the tomato basil soup was amazing and the portobello parmigiana was a great spin on an old classic. My husband had the "East Chatham" dip, which is a French dip sandwich done to perfection. Next time out we will try the burgers because, well, you always need a good neighborhood burger, right? Way to go guys!

Awesome new family restaurant with great food and a warm and inviting atmosphere! Just what East Chatham needed, my new Sunday breakfast place!
