The Goat Farm Arts Center

Amazing place. I used to come here to take photos when I was a Photography student. Every inch of this place there’s a discovery to be made. I get nostalgic every time I see this place on The Hunger Games. Before it was a low key place - now it’s been built up a little and popular music venue and filming location.

The old industrial vibe with art installations is kind of novel, but overall I wish the concert I went to was held at a more established concert venue instead of this place. First of all, I showed up and they wanted you to pay for parking by scanning a QR code, but then there was no space to put your license plate number when you paid. So I paid the five bucks, but there was really no record that it was my car that was paid for. Which was a spurce of anxiety. And because it is in an old warehouse, the sound was not ideal. Luckily, the concert I saw was kind of mellow, spaced out music so it wasn’t too terrible.

At the entrance stood a construction worker informed me that this once-thriving hub had closed its doors to the world nearly a year ago. Despite its shuttered facade, the spirit of the place lingered, whispering tales of days long gone. Nestled west of midtown Atlanta, this historic compound exuded an air of nostalgia, its aged timbers bearing the weight of countless stories etched into their very being. As I wandered through its corridors, I was transported back in time, a silent observer amidst the ebb and flow of bygone eras. Every corner held a secret, every brick a testament to the resilience of the human spirit. In the midst of decay, there was beauty to be found, a reminder that even in endings, there lies the promise of new beginnings. As I bid farewell to this relic of the past, I carried with me not just memories, but a profound sense of reverence for the untold tales that dwell within its walls. It was a fleeting encounter, yet one that left an indelible mark upon me, a testament to the enduring power of history and the human spirit.

I hope the historic charm of this island in the middle of the metro doesn’t get lost in the new development, but I am looking forward to seeing the available space expand and much needed improvements

Went for tour of new apartment complex. Great location for dining and light shopping. There are various forms of artwork and other creative items on the bottom floor throughout the complex. Just a few minutes from downtown.

perfect study spot or place to decompress. yes there are actually goats here (in addition to llamas and burros and chickens) and it's a beautiful place to wander on a sunny day. the cafe in the goat farm is called the war horse and has a special charm and yummy drinks
