I've been to The Goat before, but before I really got into "Yelping". It's a great place to a bite to eat and grab a couple drinks, whether with friends or solo. I've been to this location twice, once for dinner & drinks and the second for just lunch.
My last visit at The Goat involved partaking in Buffalo Cauliflower as an appetizer, Ranch Hand Burger as my main, and Braised Pork Tots as my side. It was a bit much and I'm probably feeling a bit bloated after that meal but man was it good.
The Buffalo Cauliflower was breaded and served with sides of Buttermilk Herb & Buffalo sauces on the side. Now I'm not sure if the breading has some sort of Buffalo-flavoring in it, but I'm assuming it does because it would be called "Fried Cauliflower" instead. Crispy, crunch, salty breading with a piping hot & tender (not overcooked) cauliflower center. The Buttermilk Herb was not as flavorful as I would have liked but when I mixed it with the Buffalo sauce, it was exactly what I was looking for. Cool, tangy, creamy, and spicy.
The Braised Pork Tots are loaded with a ton of ingredients: beer cheese, white cheddar cheese, fried pickles, braised pork meat, pickled pepper relish and chipotle aioli. They should have renamed this to "Loaded Tots" or "Kitchen Sink Tots" because it really is epic. I'd advise you eat it with a fork because there's no way you can grab a tot and encounter all the ingredients at once. It was a drop kick flavor overload right on your taste buds that would please any foodie.
Finally, the Ranch Hand Burger was a saturated fat meat bomb that fills your guts (and pores) with the unhealthiest grease, but man it tastes good going into your stomach. Creamy yolk, salty capicola, sharp cheese, and salty bacon accompanied the 2 beefy patties. My only problem however, was that I ordered pork belly as an additional premium topping on my burger only to have to argue with my waitress that the kitchen's claims that they put the pork belly on there were false. I even had to take apart my burger piece by piece to "prove" to her that there was no pork belly. They finally brought me my pork belly but to my dismay, it was diced pieces of pork belly, crunchy like a chicharron, in a ramekin. I ended up eating these separately because I finished my burger by the time the pork belly came. That wasn't worth the 2 dollars as a premium side in my opinion.
Overall, I still think The Goat is worth visiting. There are several locations in the Middle Tennessee area to choose from. I'll definitely return.
