My parents live locally to the area still since I've moved away- but I've always wanted to give this a try when visiting back home! The problem is that it's always so crowded it's been hard to ever try it.
I can finally understand why The Goat has been so packed, and man am I glad I've finally gotten a chance to taste it out. The location is small, but is packed with a great vibe. The only downside is how small the location is because of how many people want to be eating here at all times. However, we walked in on a Sunday night and were able to be seated right away for a table of 6 at about 5:45pm.
The menu includes many great apps, sandwiches, salads but what I was mostly intrigued by was the Detroit style pizzas. I went with the hot & honey Detroit pie, added on some caramelized onions. Wow wow wow. If you're looking for that sweet & spicy flavored pizza- this is it. The jalapeños add just enough heat, the crust is perfection, and don't even get me started on the house made marinara. This pie rounded out as one of the best pizzas I have ever had. Was it stacked with my day's worth of calories? Probably- but I had half of it left to take home with me at the end of the meal!
My family also started out with the garlic parm and the sweet & spicy wings. Highly recommend both & the amount of wings is great for the price you pay. Both sauces were excellent and I can assure you that no wing went uneaten.
Our server was attentive, was patient with the child at our table, and all around friendly! She let us know they were short staffed but the service once would have never made us think that had she not told us.
I cannot wait to come back here again and try many of the other pies, seriously I don't think you can go wrong with any one you pick!
