The Goat's Beard - Manayunk

Stopped in to the Goat’s Beard for happy hour and had an okay experience. I started with the 30 day strawberry drink. Its a tequila based drink, pretty tasty. It had a LOT of ice in the cup, so maybe ask for lite ice. We then got the happy hour smash burger and fries. $10, which seems like a good deal compared to the regular menu $19 smash burger. However, the regular menu one is a double patty and the HH one is a single patty. The meat to bun ratio was off, and the bun wasn’t toasted so it was cold. The sauce was delicious and we loved the fries. The service was not great. Our bartender wasn’t very attentive. She also mischarged the drink at full price, I get it things happen but on top of the meh service it was more noticeable. Overall, it’s a cute spot but I don’t think I’d come back.

We absolutely loved this place and would go back in a heart beat. We went a little while ago so they don’t have the starter that we got on the menu anymore but it was a pork in a gravy on French fries with some hot sauce it was amazing. I think we also ordered the OG pizza which was pretty good as well. If I’m not mistaken Sundays are half priced bottles of wine so we enjoyed that as well. Our waitress Sophia, not sure if she still works there, but she was fenomenal telling us all about the menu and what she recommended, as well as upcoming things to look out for at the restaurant. We sat outside and it’s Manayunk so you’re sitting on a hill which isn’t ideal but the entire experience besides that was just great. We didn’t make a reservation I think we just called ahead to see if there were tables available and walked in.

The food here was great. The drinks were even better. We only got appetizers and alcohol but can't wait to have a full meal. The waitress was amazing. We sat outside which had the heaters.

I've been waiting to try this place and it did not disappoint. The food was good - well done and flavorful. They've got a great selection of drinks, just an overall easy spot to hang out.

One of my favorite spots in Manayunk! The food and service was so great. Wonderful spot for going for happy hour with friends or a dinner date. Love the moodier seating area upstairs. Highly recommend the dinner and apps! Loved the chocolate torte

This place never disappoints! From their delicious cheesesteak egg rolls to their Detroit-style pizza and amazing seasonal appetizers (the Brussels sprouts with grapes and bacon were incredible), everything is top-notch. Highly recommend!

Awesome gluten free food. The whole menu is amazing and though out. The staff and environment is great. A perfect place to bring a date.

The food was amazing. Loved the pickle pizza and smashed burger. The pizza came out first and needed some salt. Had to ask a couple times for salt before they actually brought it out. We waited to eat cause they said they will be right back with salt but took forever. Eventually when they brought the salt, the pizza was cold. When the burger came out, the salt was gone again. I asked for it again and they never brought it back. The must only have 1 salt shaker in that place.

Holy smokes, talk about amazing use of ingredients a the interesting mix of flavors. There must be a food laboratory in the kitchen. Kudos to the chef and those behind the wonderful menu choices. Our first time in Wayne and as part of our street walking experience is finding interesting food that makes us want to return. This restaurant establishment checked all the boxes for us and then some. Shout out to Rosa who led our experience this midday tour de food experience. We opened by sharing the pulled pork tacos and the seared scallops. Two immensely different dishes that delivered Wow factor flavor and food textures. Both platings were a work of art. Next we shared a small Smoke Show Pizza. That was a memorable pizza. Regatta mozzarella and cheddar special sauce, char pepperoni, Italian sausage, and basil with oregano and Parmesan. My wife enjoyed the Rata Savignon Blanc, and I had a dogfish head pumpkin .

Just visited again on a weekday night. The place was busy and noisy to the point where I thought we should get seated outside to spare our ears. Our server was great and checked on us consistently. We ordered 4 nonalcoholic mojitos, baked brie, smash burger, and a strawberry fennel salad. (Sadly, they don't serve the spinach and artichoke dip or Korean cauliflower anymore.) Mojitos were good, but the small glass was at least half ice. The baked brie and strawberry fennel salad complemented each other and can be shared, especially the brie. One thing I will note is the strawberry fennel salad description does not mention that its base is arugula, in case this is a dealbreaker for anyone. I'm not a huge fan of arugula, so this was a bit disappointing. On a related note, it tasted like it was vegan since it was just strawberries, tomatoes, arugula, sunflower seeds, fennel, and vinaigrette, but the menu didn't mark it as such (though it did have a gluten-free label). Considering the sparse vegan/vegetarian offerings, they should label the ones that don't have meat or dairy. I was surprised by the total on our check, which was just over $100 for a salad, appetizer, burger and fries, and four nonalcoholic mojitos. The salad and baked brie were decent but not memorable. The last time I visited was a year ago when their mojitos were $3.50 each. However, they've doubled the price to $7 each. At least half of each beverage was ice, so we essentially paid $3.50 for ice per glass. What warrants this steep increase? I noticed their alcoholic cocktails remained in the $11-13 range, so surely it's not the cost of ingredients. It must be to capitalize on the growing popularity of nonalcoholic options, which is unfortunate. This is no longer a great drink deal. Another thing to note: on the bottom of the menu they mention they add a 3% kitchen fee to each bill for their BoH staff. While this is some semblance of transparency, I hope they consider incorporating this into the menu prices instead, since they update the menus on a regular basis anyways. For now, I don't really see this place as worth visiting - great service aside. In comparison to other places in Manayunk, their pricing isn't terrible, but the food quality could be a bit better.

Ambiance is a legit pub. Customer service is EXCELLENT. Appetizers are better than the mains. Get the tacos, cheesesteak rolls, and some drinks. The mains were just ok.

One of our go to spots in Manayunk when friends/family visit or for a casual date night! We have been for both brunch and dinner and have also gotten taken out! All were just as good. We tend to switch it up every time we come here or order from them, but the pizza is definitely amazing and the fries are a must order every time!!! We will continue to come back!

The atmosphere and drinks here were so good, I had the "friendly neighbor" which was so refreshing, my husband had the "mint to be" with mint sorbet, and it might have been my favorite. They have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and helpful wait staff. The food was a little underwhelming but overall we really enjoyed it!

Every time I go here, I have incredible food! There's not often a wait, and the staff is very sweet. I went to their upstairs for the first time this weekend and it was such a cool loft space. I love the friendly neighbor cocktail, and this time I got the risotto dish which was *chef's kiss* delicious(asparagus and crispy prosciutto ). Their prices aren't bad either for a cute night out. Strongly recommend trying this place for a date night!

The Goat's Beard in Manayunk is always a good time! This is a go-to spot of mine and I leave with a full belly and happy heart! The vibe is bustling and the service is attentive and prompt! The food continues to delight and the drinks are elevated and deliver flavor!

This was our second visit to this restaurant, but the first time to their location in Manayunk. We made reservations and were seated inside by the bar, which worked out as we were able to watch the Phillies game that was on. Our server was very friendly and attentive to us throughout our meal. Even when we were done, he said no rush and feel free to finish the game. We started with the cheesesteak egg rolls, which were just as delicious as the last time I remember. My wife and son got their usual Detroit style pizza, which again were just as good as last time. I went with the Caesar salad with grilled shrimp. The dressing had a pretty heavy anchovy taste, but it was fine for me. We passed on dessert as there wasn't really any gluten-free options for my wife. Aside from the disastrous Phillies game, it was a good meal!

Great place with good service. Love the Taylor Swift themed sangria (Lovin him was red). The sangria was also unique and complex in all the flavors offered. Banana bread pudding was really rich and dessert like. Husband enjoyed his breakfast wrap. Nice clean bathrooms. Plenty of seating with a bar too. They take reservations.

My favorite restaurant on main st I absolutely love it from the amazing service to the laid back but classy environment the food is spectacular the risotto is to die for but my favorite has to be the salmon i get the salmon on every salad and wow im drooling even thinking about it right now. I brought my mom visiting from Chicago here a few weeks ago and it's all she can talk about. Great outdoor seats when warm heart of main st such good vibes even better menu.

I am sorry that I did not take pictures of my lunch. My husband and picked up my son and his fiancé, and drove to this neighborhood. We noticed that this restaurant had a table outside and the menu looked good. The excellent server seemed to be happy and got everything right with our order. We ordered the hush puppies, which were fair. I am picky about my hush puppies. Hush puppies are better in the southern states. I had the bread pudding French toast, and it was the most delicious French toast that I had ever tasted. My husband agreed with me. My husband had pork tacos. They had an outstanding favor, and were seasoned exceptionally. My future daughter-in-law had a biscuit sandwich with some fries. I tried the fries. The fries needed some extra salt. My son had an excellent-looking pizza, which was to die for. When we go back here, I am going to order French toast again, and perhaps a pizza to take home. The meal was fast to come out, despite all of the tables being filled outside. This was an outstanding day, seeing my son, his supportive fiancé, and an excellent restaurant we found!

Yummy pub food. We've been here a few times and it's consistently good. The fries are delish (especially with the sriracha ketchup!). Smash burger was a hit, elite dip was basically queso indigo with corn (aka, perfection) and the cheesesteak spring rolls got a thumbs up. It can be hard to get a Rez, so book ahead or go during an off time.

Stopped in here prime time on a Friday night. They didn't have any open tables at the time but me and my husband were able to grab a seat at the bar. The bartender was super friendly; especially for a busy Friday night. We started with the TBG Nuggets as an app. They have a little kick but so good...they're a must order! I stepped outta my normal comfort zone and got the shrimp & grits for dinner. The grits were so good & cheesy.

The wifey and I decided to visit Manayunk with no plans, other than to walk around and eat. A quick search and The Goat's Beard was promising. As soon as I walked in I said, "Yup, this is our jam," and our jam it was. The ambiance was exactly what I look for when deciding were to nosh. The bartender was very nice and attentive. She had that bar on lockdown; it wasn't long after we entered the facility that the place got busy. She handled it though. The beer selection was decent but they did have a homemade IPA that was light, but delish. We weren't starving so we opted to share the pretzel bites and a kale salad. The pretzels were perfectly warm and perfect for dipping into the beer cheese...it was gooey and so great, I saved some to add to the chicken on my kale salad...I'm crazy like that. Now, I'm not one for ordering salads but this was, by far, one of the best salads I've tasted. The kale wasn't overly crunchy, but oddly tender, and definitely not soggy, and the blend of the dressing, butternut squash, raisins (or maybe they were craisins) and the bits of apples in there, amazing! The chicken was cooked really well...I recommend slopping some of the leftover beer cheese on there...so choice. The place got packed right when we finished. A true testament to a great bar! I will go back, but there are so many other places in Manayunk, it might not be right away. If you're in Manayunk on whim...this just might be your jam! Let's go.....

Food was very good for our brunch. Our server provided terrific service for my family which included our infant granddaughter. We will definitely return!

We love the goats beard! A great spot in manyunk for a nice dinner and good cocktails. There isn't much variety food wise but you cannot go wrong with the deep dish pizza, in my opinion best in manyunk and also try their chicken nuggets type dish for an appetizer. They have options for you to sit inside and outside which is great on a busy afternoon. Highly recommend paying them a visit!

I've been to The Goat's Beard several times now and it doesn't disappoint. The food is excellent, the service is awesome and the ambience depends on when you're visiting. I love that it's a smaller establishment on Main Street but serving up really great flavor profiles all across the board. 10/10 and will be back for more to come!

Service was excellent, employees were friendly. You'd have to take a college course to create a less vegan friendly menu, even the pizza crust has cheese already baked in, and the employees told us the gluten free crust did as well. Totally the business's choice to serve whatever they wish, but why not offer a simple crust to be more inclusive. Party of eight couldn't eat there because of one vegan.

I would recommend the Goat's Beard for its atmosphere and vibe. There was outdoor seating so my dog could sit with us during the meal. The service was good. The smoke show pizza was the best thing we got, would give a 5/5 for this pizza. The ricotta on top was presented so pretty and balanced the rest of the meatiness of the pizza very very well. But the rest of the food that we got was average and the pickle pizza was a bit on the dry side. Just an FYI there is a 3% service charge that goes directly to the kitchen staff which is not bad but it's good to know. Nothing out of the ordinary but overall good place to eat at.

Food wise this place just wasn't for me. I felt like the gnocchi Mac and cheese was different but not something I would come back for or anything. The steak on top was okay. I do think it was a decent portion as I had leftovers to bring home. My date didn't finish her risotto, I don't think she liked it. For what this place costs I wouldn't return. I think the ambiance is pretty cool. IMO the service was polite and fast. Dont know if only some servers let you know but my server was clear that the gratuity was included.

I love this restaurant however I'm over them 2 tiny cups for maybe Mayo? $9.50 for broccoli slaw ,,,, over!!!

I was here on a date. It was small but really cosy, good for a romantic date but also loud enough that it can be casual. I wouldn't recommend for groups as it's tightly seated. Service was timely, food was delicious and really well made. The steak mac and cheese was very heavy, so just keep that in mind. Dress code is casual, you can wear heels or a button down but I wouldn't wear my nice suit here.

Amazing place! It was our first time here and we are loving it so much! Customer service is excellent. Declan our bartender was awesome and wholesome. Will definitely be returning! Highly recommend! You should definitely visit this place if you haven't

The food here was great! For the appetizers we had the chicken nuggets (without blue cheese) and they were DELICIOUS. The sauce was so yummy. We also ordered the Birria french fries, the Birria meat itself was delicious and very moist but unfortunately the fries were totally burned so we really couldn't eat them. So make sure you ask for maybe light fries. For dinner, I had the jambalaya which was great. My sister had the steak with gnocchi which was also delicious! The gnocchi is rich, so I'm glad we shared meals because I think it would have been too much for one person. Overall, our meal was great and our server was wonderful. I will definitely go back!

Now this place is GOOOOOD!!! Before we were sat, we had to wait for our table, but only for about 10 minutes and got drinks. The 30 day strawberry packed a PUNCH but you don't realize it at first. It was SO good. The cold brew martini was also really good. Tim, our server, was absolutely fantastic. It was a very busy night, but he treated us like we were his only table, spent time going over the whiskey menu with recommendations (and picked out a great selection of 4 1oz pours), checked on us, just made it a great all around experience. Thanks Tim! White bean hummus- delicious! Grilled Halloumi- great, just wish it was warm Pumpkin dip- WOW, a bit spicy, but definitely not too much Veg detroit style pizza- so good, but I was too full to finish my slice Mushroom risotto- YUM Salmon- really good, we asked for well done but it was pretty raw. Still good. Pricing wasn't outrageous and I will definitely go back

I was really surprised by this place. It has all the good qualities of your local neighborhood sports bar, but with excellent food. The bartenders were super friendly as we started arriving for dinner. The servers got us seated quickly and took great care of us all night. The menu is what got me at first. It's pretty sophisticated for a place that looks like a corner bar. Some very unique selections and all of them were excellent. We all loved our mains and had a great time. While a little on the small side, we had no problems having a pleasant conversation during dinner. The Goat's Beard is a real under promise and over deliver establishment. Don't judge, be curious.

I recently visited for dinner and drinks and was highly disappointed. Having previously dined at the Wayne location, where the food was delicious and everything was made to perfection, I had high expectations. Unfortunately, the Manayunk location was a letdown. While the service was excellent, that's where the positive experience ended. I'm not sure if they have different management, but I would not go back.

Hey, Yelp friends! Sooooo I recently had the opportunity to dine at The Goat's Beard, and let me tell you, it was a memorable experience. The decor was quite unique, with pictures of goats adorned with impressive beards adorning the walls. It was quite a sight to behold. But let's talk about the food - specifically, the cheese steak egg rolls. Now, I have to admit, the service at The Goat's Beard was a bit slow. However, the cheese steak egg rolls were worth the wait. The shaved sirloin was cooked to perfection, and the caramelized onions added a delightful sweetness to the dish. The American cheese was gooey and melty, and the garlic aioli added an extra layer of flavor. And let's not forget the spicy ketchup - it gave the egg rolls a nice kick. Despite the slow service, the staff at The Goat's Beard were incredibly friendly and seemed to be having a great time. I mean, who wouldn't when they get to work surrounded by goats with luxurious beards? Overall, I would definitely recommend The Goat's Beard for their cheese steak egg rolls. Just be prepared for a bit of a wait for your food - but trust me, it's worth it. And if you're feeling adventurous, ask for a tour of the goat beard exhibit while you wait. Visiting fom Hawaii and was looking for a place to eat. Came across this place the name captured our interest. Great food excellent customer service service with a Smile. Keep up the great work

We stopped in for a Saturday lunch before strolling around Manayunk to see some of the ice art. This place was highly recommended & I couldn't wait to eat here. The Goat's Beard did not disappoint. The interior of the restaurant was warm, cozy, and cute which really added to the experience as they categorize their menu as comfort foods. We started with the fried calamari, TGB nuggets, and cheesesteak egg rolls. The calamari was good but a bit burnt on the top and quite chewy. There was much depth in flavor, but it was not awful. The tables favorite was TGB nuggets! They were so flavorful, so delicious, and perfectly cooked. The cheesesteak egg rolls were also fantastic. My partner ordered the seared salmon which was absolutely amazing. It was perfectly done, perfectly paired. I ordered the burger, which was good, except my plate was cold upon arrival to my table. The fries that accompanied the burger were okay, but didn't seem like they had been seasoned despite being "herb" fries. The service & staff was extremely nice, attentive, and efficient. We will definitely be back sometime soon!

The Goat's Beard continues to deliver on high quality food and drink. It has been a while since I revisited my review, however, their consistency has not changed. Over the years, they have adjusted their happy hour times, enhanced their cocktail menu, and even expanded their food offering with some Detroit style pizza. I've kept most of my recent visits to cocktails and sitting at the bar often enough I can say I appreciate the patience of their bartenders. I'll usually get a whiskey or bourbon drink in the winter while the 30 Day Strawberry is my go-to summer drink. If you are looking for something specific, I'm sure they can make it up for you! Food wise, my last few visits have been Pizza. I won't claim they are the best pizza on Main street, nor will I say you absolutely need to check out their Detroit style pies, however, I will say you probably won't be disappointed if you do. Their pork sandwich is another solid dining option. Having witnessed this location change names between it being Thomas' and The Goat's Beard, I'm glad to see The Goat's Beard sticking around. I will be back soon for more cocktails. I'll be likely be back for a nice seat down meal as well.

This was our second time at the Goat's Beard and our experience this time was just not good. We were seated outside on a not particularly busy Monday night. After a 20 or 25 minute wait with no one coming to our table my wife flagged down a server and asked "if someone was handling this table?" She said she'd get her, and after another five minute wait our server showed up. We ordered our food and drinks. Which came out relatively promptly. I had the Smokeshow Pizza, which was very good, as expected (as I said we've been here before) My wife got the Ceasar Salad with steak. The steak was about half hard grizzle. When the server reappeared at the end of our meal, we pointed out that the steak was mostly grizzle. We would have pointed this out earlier but she didn't come around even to see if we needed water or drinks. When we told her she said she'd let the kitchen know. No, let the manager know!! There's also a 3% back-of-house charge. Which, if she's blaming the kitchen for a bad steak, have they really earned this service charge? I'm leaving 3 stars as an average of this trip and the preceeding visit which would have gotten 5. Hopefully if you visit your experience is closer to our first and not this trip

They have really nice outdoor and indoor seating. The servers are nice and attentive. For those that may miss it there is an automatic 20% gratuity automatically tacked onto the bill, written in the menu and the server lets you know in the end too. One of the plates was a bit dirty but easily fixed. TGB Nuggets: 4/5 pretty good fried chicken. Very crispy some pieces were a bit overdone. Sweet and spicy sort of flavor to it. The cheese threw me for a loop in the beginning but by the end I wish there was more! Well crafted dish! Smash Burger: 4/5 I love the thick brioche bun and juicy burger. Paired well with the crispy fires. The only thing would be I wish the burger was seasoned more. Need a bit more salt and pepper. Steak Mac and Cheese: 5/5 One of the best cook I have seen on steaks better than some steak restaurants. Juicy tender steak that lets it speak for itself. The gnocchi was an interesting choice and is a hit or miss for some people. Love the garlic flavor in the gnocchi though. Amazing dish! Conclusion: A must try place if you're in the area. They have a wide variety of food that wouldn't disappoint. I would love to come back and try that pizza that you see everyone get. It looks amazing!

Goat's Beard offered a solid 4-star dining experience. With a few tweaks GB could be on their way to 5 stars in no time! Things I loved: The food, specifically the pizza is really really good. The center of the dough is light & airy, yet crispy and cheesy. The Sauce served on top of the cheese is slightly sweet and cuts through the fat of the cheese and pepperoni perfectly. The Italian herbs with oregano at the forefront is a nice touch as well. Philly cheesesteak egg-rolls are stuffed! Nice and hearty and a great way to start your meal. The sauce served along side of these rolls are good, not great. The spicy ketchup could use more heat and the garlic aioli could use less mayo and more garlic. Overall, the sauces could be a bit more flavorful Steak Mac&cheese - I guess I missed the part where the Mac and cheese is actually potato gnocchi, but the flavors were good and the steak was cooked to perfection. My only feedback here would be the heat level. The dish served in a cast iron skillet came out Lukewarm. It would have been nice if some shredded/grated cheese was thrown on top of the gnocchi (before the steak is added) and broiled accordingly. It would provide more flavor and desired serving temp. The miss: The cocktails. Although relatively boozy, the recipe selection/presentation are super basic. The aura of this establishment deserves some crafty cocktails!

It's a fine place for brunch. I went with my friend, and we enjoyed our food. I got the Salmon Crostini, and it was a delicious light meal. However, it was incredibly expensive for what ultimately breaks down to only a few pieces of bread with some ricotta and a slice of smoked salmon. There wasn't even a side to go to with it. I just didn't think that was worth it. I would be open to going back, maybe for dinner, but I think there are much better brunch options in the area.

Still one of my favorite neighborhood spots. Went in for lunch, tried a different cocktail than my usual and their steak mac and cheese. The drink did not live up to my usual cocktail but I really enjoyed the steak mac and cheese. I had to strong arm the waitress who thought she was helping me by insisting I sit in a location I told her I didn't want to sit in. Seating can be challenging because it's a small establishment, they do have outdoor options available with the milder temperatures and they take reservations so most of the window seats are taken by a certain time. My waitress was great, still love to dine here alone or with company.

We visited the Goats Beard in Wayne once again and once again wasn't disappointed! The Friendly Neighbor was friendlier than by before ( such a great drink) . The mussels were great especially the Trippy mussels! Can't wait until next time!

A little pricey but very good. The pizza exceeded our expectations. The cocktails presented well and were spirit forward. The beer list was not very extensive. We will definitely be back again for the pizza.

This place was awesome, definitely my kind of bar / restaurant. It was super laid back, great music, great people, and an overall welcoming vibe! We stopped in for a few drinks and hung out at the bar. There was plenty of parking near by and for $1 an hour and they are going to start offer Christmas/Holiday parking specials for December. The food all looked amazing, can't wait to come back and try the food out!

Came in for a Sunday brunch recently. Wife ordered crabcake Benedict per waitress' recommendation and a cold brew martini. Being from Maryland, the crabcake wasn't overly impressive but it did the job, she ate every bite. Cold brew martini was worth ordering as well. My breakfast burger was phenomenal top to bottom. The thick pork belly and perfectly cooked egg, paired with perfect potatoes had me in love. My tequila cocktail didn't thrill me for brunch but wasn't bad. Worth a try

I give this place an automatic 5 stars because my waitress was kind and helpful. She accommodated me for all my food allergies and I appreciate that. I felt safe knowing that my food will come out just the way it should. When the food arrived, it was delicious. I ordered a burger and fries and my friend ordered egg rolls and Mac and cheese. The fries were seasoned and crispy. The burger patty was juicy and flavorful. The food was wonderful and went well with my drink! I would come back here again, but I will remember to get myself a reservation for inside becuase I got eaten alive from mosquitos outside. If you're looking for a place to eat in manayunk, I highly recommend!

I made my second review of the goats beard for my visit I had last night. Once again, highly successful, and enjoyable evening! I ordered the broccoli dip, which was outstanding, the Philly cheesesteak eggrolls were insanely good with a pair of dipping sauces and I got to try the wonderful idea of putting a corona beer with amaretto, it taste just like Dr Pepper. It was so much fun and our waitress was so personable and so attentive. It makes me want to go again, so I will be returning soon. Perfect atmosphere. It's got that Cheers hometown feel to it but the atmosphere is more upscale put the white stuff is just the friendliest you could ask for!

Great fared and service. I really enjoyed my dinner here. Very cool atmosphere not too loud. The people that work here are very professional. Highly recommend.

Nice cozy bar on Main Street in Manayunk. Nice selection of food options on their menu and beer/cocktail list as well. Burg was cooked perfectly, tasty fries too.

Hands down one of the best burgers I've had! Fries were cooked to perfection. Pizza was really good! The risotto could have used a little more flavor but otherwise the consistency and texture was spot on.
