I absolutely love this bar. I feel like it reflects my vibe. and it’s half asian like me 🤣 It has fun thai elements to it that were unexpected (as well as thai cuisine,) arcade, and live music sometimes with a huge disco ball! The drinks were excellent as well as the service. It’s definitely a place you have to check out! I haven’t had the food at this specific location but I have had Sticky Rice’s drunken noodles elsewhere and I recommend it!

Loved this place! Great vibes! The music venue is great and I love that the bar area is separated so you could talk at the tables and hear one another, yet you could still hear the music in the background. The Thai food was an unexpected bonus and super delicious. All around a fantastic experience.

Went on a weekend afternoon very cool atmosphere, Victor was a great bartender and gave recommendations for drinks. Was pretty empty at the time but I can see it get packed at night. Only down side was that a lot of the games were either broken or steal quarters and not spit it back out but was a fun time either way

Who was the donkey that decided renovating this place was a good idea?! I was gone for two years, and y’all decided to do me so dirty by renovate this place and it didn’t even need a renovation! Literally I used to take my friends here all the time because of how much I loved it, and now I need to find a new pace to show my friends… Other than that, everything is great. The people working here the food and drinks 10/10. Solid it’s your first time here, you’ll love it. But literally I wanna fight the person who decided to renovate this place. #freetherapy

Awesome bar with great decor and vibe. The disco room was super cool. Arcade was cool too but damn did it smell like unwashed gamer in there. Didn’t try the food but it smelled amazing.

EDIT: Eric made it right and explained the situation, and knowing what I know now, we will be coming back as we really do love the overall esthetic and vibe, and every staff member I’ve met so far including Eric, was really friendly and helpful with menu questions and suggestions. Eric was on top of everything with our concerns like a pro and made it right with us, that’s all we can ask for. My partner and I showed up and it wasn’t busy at all, about 4:50ish pm, just a few tables that had already been served and was fairly quiet outside and inside when we arrived. We put in our order on the same bill and expected to get our food at the same time, however my partner got his food about 15 minutes before me. He got the drunken noodles with chicken and I got the yellow curry with chicken. It was supposed to be a date, but it ended up being kind of a waste of money as we didn’t even get to eat together. I had to flag over someone and tell them that they may as well wrap mine up, as my partner had already eaten all his food. Kinda ruined the day and date for me and will probably just toss the to-go food they wrapped in the garbage or give to a homeless. Just moved to the area from Santa Barbara and this was my second time there, but I probably won’t be back. What’s upsetting is I was just here for the first time a few days ago and thought it was a pretty neat spot, and my partner and I don’t ever get to do that much together very often as we are both very busy, and I had told him how I wanted to bring him here to get food, but I will be eating by myself this evening now. Bummer. Oh, by the way, here’s your bill for $80. Also, notice the flood of positive reviews that came in after my negative review… are they trying to flood my comment out??? Hmmm

Great vibes amazing drinks and pool tables. The hospitality is Thank you Ethan, Gram, Laurence and Erin! Only issue is the pool tables are three dollars per game? But the space is amazing. The tables are extremely clean and level and again the people working there are amazing.

Hip bar, the mullets are making a come back here! Not the greatest beer selection but the whole bar is a vibe. There was a singer doing their thing through the back doors but I was busy playing pool at $3 a game and not paying attention. Food is served here but with only a handful tables and booths it's seems not too convenient. More space in the arcade area but the volume of music is too loud there for conversation. Parking is street or at one of the many public lots around Highland Park.

I was pleasantly surprised by this spot. Looking at the street facing sign, I knew this would be Asian cuisine but when I walked in it just looked like a funky dive bar with an arcade in back. The restaurant here actually serves Thai food and it's pretty good. You can get things medium spicy like we did or dial it up or down, depending on your preference. The papaya salad had a tasty dressing but was smaller than expected. The soup and noodles we got did not disappoint. There are a few booths available so if you need some additional back support that a barstool can't provide, you're still welcomed here.

This is a place you'll likely never forget. Before any alcohol enters your system, this kind of time warped neon-lit dive bar feels like a fever dream. The checkered dance floor, strange Thai paraphernalia on every inch of the walls, shrunken heads and dim, trippy lighting set the perfect scene for a night that could go in any direction. It's got just the right vibe, the kind of place where you can get kicked in the face by a Thai chili margarita or catch waves with my favorite drink: surfer on ketamine. Then you can catch a live set from a band you've probably never heard of but will likely be popular in a few months, and end up shooting pool with them later on. Drinks are solid, well executed. If hunger hits, there's a window serving delicious Thai bites. The crowd is a mix of locals, musicians, pool sharks, and people who know where to find a good time without the gate-keeper-influencer nonsense places like "tenants" enforce. I always meet the most eclectic range of unique souls and not just wannabe Hollywood grunge with designer clothes, sailor tattoos, and frosted tips. It's loud, it's unpolished in the best way, and it inspires that timeless "where the heck are we" feeling. If you want a place with actual character instead of just aesthetics, The Goldfish is swimming in that direction.

I was excited when Goldfish first opened, but a little bummed when I discovered they only served beer & wine. I recently heard rumors that they now have a full bar, so I had to check it out! The place was also remodeled, and I like the changes. It has a more relaxed vibe and laid-back atmosphere. There are two pool tables, a juke box, a claw machine, and booths where you can enjoy your drink or eats from Sticky Rice. The music venue is now separated by double doors. I was happy to discover that Tromba Tequila is their well and since I was still celebrating National Margarita Day, I requested the Thai Chili Margarita with Tromba. Marcela was happy to oblige. She even offered me some complimentary popcorn. The margarita was tasty and perfect for the lovely warm weather that graced So Cal in February. Several bars have recently closed on York Blvd, so I'm excited to have a new place to chill or hang out with friends. *Happy Hour Weekdays open - 8 pm All cocktails $10 *Metered street parking.

The Goldfish is a great bar with a Thai restaurant, event/music space, and arcade all infused into the experience. Luckily each of the areas kind of has its own section so it doesn't seem like the bar is having an identity crisis. However, you can have the Thai food delivered directly to the bar. Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to try the food, but the service was fairly fast for all the drinks, and the ambiance was really cool. It's definitely a hip place that seems to be a popular spot for most of the locals.

Super fun concert hall & bar. Very spacious and the bar tenders are super nice. I got a glass of wine and a Paloma and both were delicious. Can't wait to party here again!

This is the spot to go for a night hangout. They've got pool tables, arcade area and live music section, as well as many spots to sit and hangout. This place really has a little bit of everything. I loved the interior and the lively ambiance it brings. The service is prompt and helpful. The food was very delicious! We got a little bit of everything and I didn't have anything bad to say. I will say their curry is on point and their fried chicken is to die for good! Highly recommend checking this spot out!

Fun bar with stiff drinks. They have pool tables and arcade games in the back. There was a special event here the night I went so I didn't get to check out the other room. Food looks amazing here but didn't get to try, so definitely need to come back. Strong party vibes here.

Came here on a Monday night a little after 7, ordered 2 cocktails so I could get the happy hour special. They were okay. I went to pay and I was charged full price for the drinks, so I asked the bartender why since I thought happy hour was until 8 based on their website. She said happy hour ended at 7 that day. I paid, but I was bummed. They should update their website if that's the case. Not cool.

This place is AWESOME! The fish tank is so entertaining to watch all the gold fish swimming around as you drink some sake at the bar. There's a huge neon lava lamp at the bar which was a cool touch. I love all the neon glow ball lights on the walls and the huge disco ball on the square black and white dance floor decorated with diner seats to keep the theme of nostalgia, retro, and funk. Love the DJ playing some old school house and dance music! The barkeeper Saturday night was very nice and kept the bar pristine serving us our sweet sake. I will definitely be back for an event for a fun night on the dance floor! This is a cool and fun spot to hang out and have a blast. It was refreshing to have a laidback place to have a drink and enjoy the atmosphere!

I had a great time at this bar with friends. The aesthetic of the place rocks. It's cozy and cool. Live music was great as were the arcade games. I'm writing to mention I'm concerned about the well-being of the fish. I'm sure it sounds stupid, but when I asked the bartender if they name the fish, one of the bartenders pretty rudely replied that they die all the time so they're always getting new ones (thus they don't name them). Additionally, this same bartender was pretty rude to my friends throughout the night, both before and after I asked about the fish. That was a negative for the evening. I hope the fish are ok

Happy hour Monday- Friday!! Love that they have live music and delicious food. Staff was very nice and gave us samples of their frozen beverage.

Place was cool liked the ambiance, food was really good we got drunken chicken noodle. Service was alright took a minute for a bartender to come over for me to order food. Bar wasn't packed, just seemed liked they cared more about hanging with their regulars than making a new regular. Friends liked the bar so would possibly be back if that was the place they chose to meet up at.

Let's me first off saying if ur not part of this lilttle group they got going in there they will ignore you till the very end you'll wait 30 minutes for a drink. The food sucks. They only care about the majority basically if you're not a game just don't go there because that's all they care about. Ben had a party for 20 years and never been to a bar this weird.

I don't love the redesign they did. It feels like any other bar now. Was more unique before. Kitchen closes earlier as well

The Goldfish is an easy hang. Popped in to meet a friend and even though the bartender just did his job he was kind enough you could have a crush on him. I haven't been going out much so it was nice to find a bar with good music and plenty of space to dip my toe back in. Easy free parking

Stumbled upon this hidden gem while on a night out with friends. We were looking for a chill spot to hang out and talk. This spot is perfect! Food - #/5 - N/A : did not order food or drinks Price - $ - N/A : did not pay for anything Service - #/5 - N/A : was not serviced Ambiance - 5/5 - the vibe here is so cute. There's music playing, a stage for live bands and events, and plenty of seats. They have some games and billiards to play as well. I adore the chill atmosphere and all the lights. Location - 2/5 - its tucked away so it's not the easiest to locate. Alyza and the team and the Goldfish are amazing and the Thai Tea Gimlet is delicious! Me and my lady will be back for the food because it did smell amazing and look delicious.

Small, incredibly atmospheric bar that is definitely worth a detour! Standard selection of drinks (mostly beers) is paired with an array of retro arcades, a music stage, and an absolute marvel of an interior.

Gorgeous bar but truly ugly customer service. I can truly say with all honesty me and my group did absolutely nothing at all to cause the bartender (with the hat and yellow shirt, on 6.17.25) to be condescending and insolent to us to say the least. Immediately upon approaching her she was completely bothered and made me and my group feel criminal for even being there and I have my sneaking suspicion as to why. Maybe being a Hispanic at the moment is quite the inconvenience for some. We are not ever coming back here again. Even the server girl with the glasses was a snob. Shoved our food onto the table and coldly walked away even after I politely said thank you to her. The only gem there was the security guard! He was totally nice and very welcoming! My check number was #31 in case management wants to do any damage control on those who played a part in my bad experience.

I ordered Togo to take to eat at Occidental because my daughter had a track meet there. They did not give any utensils or napkins. The screen was hard to see because of the sun. I also waited a good 20 minutes for the food. I tried the beef panang fries and gave the drunken noodles to my daughter. Because of lack of utensils, I dip the fries into the panang curry. The flavor was delicious but there is just too much liquid and coconut milk for a beef panang. My daughter said the noodles were flavorful but the meat was dry. I saw it had great reviews and that's why I wanted to try, but this was a very expensive take out lunch for 2 experience.

I love this spot generally. My review comes out of frustration. I celebrated my birthday out with friends Saturday and was hoping to go to the goldfish. Their instagram had no events listed for saturday but out of caution, I emailed, messaged them on instagram twice, commented on instagram, messaged some bartenders/staff that were tagged in their posts, called stick rice HP AND sticky rice echo park both many times, all to check there were no events or shows going on, or anything with a cover. I did this over the course of a week. no response on instagram or email, no one picked up the phone. We get there in the pouring rain and the people at the door say theyre closed for a private party. I find this to be super unprofessional. I wasnt the only person they turned away as well, i could tell there were others there standing out in the pouring rain who had been turned away. I ended up having to frantically text all of my pals and tell them the change of plan. Now, hosting a private event is no crime, but it would have been awesome if 1) they posted on their socials they would have been closed and 2) someone got back to me after *repeated* attempts to get in touch with somebody. Especially given the forecast, it would been great so folks heading out in the pouring rain could plan accordingly.

Not ADA compliant. There is no point of contact at this place to arrange a booth or chair reservation. We arrived before doors opened to ensure a seat for my disabled daughter. They opened doors early and were unable to even offer a folding chair. We had to leave as they had zero resolution. Super disappointed as the event was close to our hearts and we were basically turned away. I tried reaching out through website and social media to ask them to do better, but I guess I'm forced to call them out publicly.

I had a really disappointing experience here. After waiting 30 minutes for my order, I had to get up and ask about it myself because no one came by with an update. Only then was I told they had run out of rice -- something they never mentioned earlier. Instead of offering a proper solution, they substituted my meal with something much cheaper without asking. On top of that, the food I did receive was undercooked. Service was practically nonexistent throughout the whole visit. Definitely not worth the time or money.

I have attended The Goldfish numerous times and every time I go, I have the same experience. I won't lie, the place is nice, especially now that they've remodeled it. However, I always feel neglected when I'm there. Every time I try to make eye contact or get a bartender's attention, they look away or act like I'm simply not there. Their attitude has hardly ever felt welcoming to me, and the reason I have gone numerous times is because I want to give them a chance and hopefully get a different experience. I feel they could do better with being more attentive to their clientele. Otherwise, the place is cool, I just wish it felt more inviting.

I went here last week on Wednesday with friends (one who was visiting LA) for rocknite.la. One ordered chicken pad see-ew, the other tofu pad see-ew and they both got stomach viruses. They developed headaches and a fever from it. Completely ruined my friends vacation in LA. DONT ORDER ANY PAD See-ews!!!!

Great laid-back vibe with plenty of space to shoot pool and hang out. The music's great and the drinks are well-made without breaking the bank. Friendly staff, cool crowd, and a perfect spot to unwind without any fuss. Highly recommend for a chill night out.

Service was poor!!!! Especially the gentleman with glasses and the mustache, super slow and seemed to be under the influence due to the fact that he would just stare at us while politely ordering our drinks.

This place is a hidden gem! The have a beer and wine bar, two pool tables, an arcade, an old school dance floor, and good thai food. Ashley was really sweet and gave us some almond cookies! If you check-in, you'll get a free draft beer with an entree purchase.

Very lgbtq friendly which we're all here for. not the very best if your trying to make friends. One of the only bars on the block open so that's cool. Drinks was good. Live music (set up and all) isn't every night. Don't think I'll be returning but was nice for a date night. Drinks are normal, a little about more priced.

Very cool spot. I had a great time there after a work event. Regrettably, I had a little too much fun and my ID went missing . I accused my coworker of stealing it but of course she denied it. I went back to The Goldfish three weeks later and to my shock they had my ID. Thank you Goldfish, great news. Guess I should apologize to Mildred.

On more than one occasion I've seen the simple sign with a picture of a goldfish in a bowl standing tall amongst the other signs on York and thought "hip aquarium supplies," only to be corrected recently by being brought here to watch bands play. This is actually a music venue and bar, with food offerings from what may be a pop-up shop (Sticky Rice), and a selection of natural wine. They've made a lot of changes in their setup since Hi Hat, but the person I'm seeing said the acoustics were better (from the bar). I like the fish tank (with a THICC goldfish & bb goldfish) and decor around the bar, and they have two billiards tables to further keep customers entertained. The sound guy did have the bass guitar turned up to be louder than everything else and at many points it sounded like the speakers were going to blow out, but otherwise it was a cool spot. I think it's really cool that they offer a whole selection of natural wine here, and I enjoyed the orange wine I ordered. I also tried the Pilsner and the golden ale they have on tap, which were both tasty as well. We also ordered the Sticky Bun Burger from the joint Sticky Rice location, and without getting into it here, I will simply say that I wouldn't order it again but am willing to try other items from them.
