⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I recently visited Good Bar in Long Beach, CA, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations! From the moment I walked in, I felt a warm and neighborly atmosphere. The bar and food service were excellent - the staff was friendly, attentive, and genuinely cared about their customers' experience. Let's talk about the food - the burger and tater tots were absolutely delicious! You could taste the love and care that went into preparing them. The freshness of the ingredients truly shone through. The ambiance of the bar is something else! The skateboard decor on the walls added a unique and edgy touch to the place. It's rad to see such creative elements incorporated into the design. And the entertainment? Phenomenal! I can't wait to come back for more. Good Bar has definitely earned a spot as one of my favorite spots in Long Beach. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for great food, a welcoming atmosphere, and top-notch entertainment. Five stars all the way!

Awesome bar with really great live sound. The sound guy was one of the best I've seen in a small place like this and the vibes were really good. I don't hang out much in LBC but I'll definitely be back!

the staff were extremely weird and rude , acted like everything we said was not spoken in their language . super awkward and strange environment. very rude and disrespectful people who hang around the area too, don’t recommend spending your free time or money here . to the staff, why not work somewhere you like ? why make others miserable because you are ?

Excellent place with genuine great service. Energy is fantastic.You can tell that Carina knows what she’s doing and doesn’t skip a beat. I would definitely recommend you coming through.

Dive bar vibes but with really good food. Bartenders (like Joey!) Are super cool and a very friendly atmosphere in general. Great for brunch. Veggie and vegan options and lots of them.

Nice place to hang and watch a band. We went Saturday night 11-9-2024 to see the tribute band Live Forever a tribute to Oasis and what a show so good the singer nails it it was like Liam was right there in the flesh. The bartenders are top notch very attentive always making sure you don't have an empty drink. And they know How to pour and me she drinks properly. The owner is a cool guy and old skate boarder he's not that old but he was telling me about the bad it's a family business very cool guy. Its a fun hang all the people in there were nice. The band that night WOW great tribute to Oasis. I hope the GOOD BAR has them back. Go and support this Bar our small business owners need us.

The good bar is a good bar. Lots of decks. Some beer, cute patio cool people. A pool table and some dude spinning funky tunes

STEPH JUDGEMENT: A chill, no-frills community-minded neighborhood bar. Been here several times over the years to hang with friends who were having some kind of community event, and on our last visit it was to support some friends' art/music event. We'd never had the food here before and we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of their garlic parm fries, which were crisp and super garlicky with fresh garlic! I was intrigued to see Spaghett on their drink menu and had one of those and the hubby had a boilermaker. The bartender was friendly and efficient, and the vibe here is always casual and relaxed. This place is juuust far enough away from us to make it a convenient walkable option, but we're always down to hang here with friends.

I recommend the Tacos here. Some of the appetizers are good. Drink deals $4/ shot. Good crowd. Good staff. Fun time in LBC

This place is cool for skaters, or for those that used to be. A friend and i went to have a drink there on a rainy day when it was almost empty. They have a bunch of artistic skate decks and skating videos playing on screens. They have a small bar and a place to grab food in a particular place. Their pool table is very worn in from the look of the balls. They must have good bands that come in and play rock/punk and the like. I would reccomend this to anyone who still boards around Long Beach to check it out.

Really cool neighborhood bar. Had some awesome micheladas and Parmesan fries. The music was good and not too loud. The bartenders were relax and attentive, which was very appreciated. The place us clean and the decir is fantastic. Highly recommended

This place is super chill and awesome! The bartenders are super nice and friendly. The bar from the outside looks small but it's actually pretty big inside. The snacks are great! Poppers are good as well as the pizza rolls. Highly recommend!

Went during a night of Boom Bap Vs Disco and the vibes were immaculate. The music was soo good, there's space to dance, pool table, and a Photo Booth.

Very cool dive bar that was open on a Monday! We stopped in, sat at the bar and enjoyed some drinks and music. We ordered a couple drinks and the quesadilla and everything was good. Food and drinks were well priced and good, service was good and overall ambiance was cool. The walls are covered in skateboards from the owner. All of the food coming from the kitchen looked and smelled great too! We will be back next time we're in town.

The Good bar is great, hidden gem in the Point Loma area! Grab a burrito from the restaurant next door and have a good time at the Good Bar!

My husband and I have been here a few times before and on this day, I wanted to go in and play two rounds of pool. As we walked in, the pool table had equipments on it and my husband thought we weren't able to play but I asked the bartender and he said it'll be awhile before they can clear it up. Fortunately, the technician said he will clear it up in a bit and in the mean time, grab a drink. We did just that and ordered some bar food. Bacon wrapped hot dog and chicken tenders. The hot dog came with a side of chips which I didn't care for. But the dog was delicious. I love the added julienned green capsicum. That was different and tasty. The chicken fingers had a nice batter to it but a bit over cooked. It came on a bed of tots and those were addicting. The Buffalo and bbq sauce were good. The walls were cover with interesting skateboard messages. A bit provocative but it is a bar nonetheless. A few rounds of pool games was fun to start our day. The bartender was nice and appreciative of our service.

Such a cool spot to hang out in! Stopped in to get quick drink while in Long Beach and the atmosphere was awesome. We got the mozzarella sticks and the BBQ chicken wrap, 10/10 food! Great service, bartender was awesome. Didn't get any photos but highly recommend!

I've always loved this place due to the atmosphere and vegan food, but tonight Josh added cucumber to my water and Esteban made a special honey bbq sauce for my friend's chicken tenders while he talked about Steinbeck novels and it confirmed that this place has such good vibes and good people. The service is top-notch--behind-the-bar skills with front-of-the-house personality for sure!

I come here for Dead nights once a month normally on Thursdays. I love the people and love this place. To eat, I've only had the nachos which were so huge ! Very good for price. I am going to come back to try some more food! Service is great. Bar tenders are friendly. The owner is a super cool guy.

The good bar and eatery is a great local bar with small frontage on busy 7th street which turns into route 22 There is a horseshoe shaped bar, a patio, pool table, and several large tv's to watch the game. The bartenders are extremely helpful with a welcoming smile. They clearly enjoy working here. The selection of beer is large, both on draft and bottles and cans. It's kinda sorta a slightly hipster bar with locals like me and cal state long beach students thrown into the mix. The food is quite good for bar food with reasonable prices. I really enjoy their tostadas as the are bomb. The burgers are above average. Breakfast is served all day! I like this bar!

The is honestly one of my favorite bars in all of Long Beach. The vibe is always awesome, the dj's they bring in are always playing great music. I love the huge collection of decorated skateboards on all the walls. Every time we're in there it's always a mix of people inside, in true Long Beach fashion. There's also pool tables and pinball machines. Good offering of drinks and nice bartenders, most times we've gone it's been very busy, so tends to be a line at the bar. The owner is also extremely nice, whenever we've gone on a quieter night he's out and about, chatting people up, giving out shots, really nice guy. I'm also pretty impressed by the food, not your typical bar food, actually tasty food, burritos, nachos, tacos, chili fries and tots, etc (yes it's greasy, but it's still bar food) and open late so will satisfy the late night drunchies. Tons of vegan options too!

I have been here many times, but today we had lunch. The food is great. The burgers here compete with the best of them. Plus the option of tater tots or fries. The service was great too, Zee took care of us. This place is pretty chill, nice environment . We definitely will be coming back. We are burger fans.

Stopped in here with my son-in-law after a quick round at Little Rec on my B/D. A late morning drop in for a quick beverage and some breakfast. To be honest, I wasn't expecting an awful lot in the caloric sustenance department so, man oh man was I surprised with their breakfast tacos!!! My son-in-law suggested the aforementioned breakfast tacos, so when I asked the bartender, (whose name I unfortunately do not recall), how they were, he suggested themes well. I had them throw in some chorizo y papas wit 'em and I was happier than a pig in slop!!! Those mutha effers were outta this world! (Well... maybe I had a buzz by then...). Anywho... cool little dive bar with a chill bartender, a good cook, and super mellow vibe. But... it was 11:30ish on a Sunday so keep that in mind...

I lost my jacket here last night, with my ID and credit card. Workers aren't helpful at all and I called the next day to ask. The guy just dismissed me over the phone. Makes me feel like this happens all the time here. So if you go, don't trust it. Keep your things on you and if you lose anything, they won't try to help or be kind. The music was very loud and not the best.

Great bar, great staff, chill vibe. They have bands playing here sometimes. Pricing isn't too bad either.

Upon walking in a little empty but it did get fuller quickly as i sat with a friend. Love the decor i mean skateboards, pool tables, Machine **Awesome, the vibes where all good , music no comokaints over here, food was great The tinga tacos The garlic fries The fried oreos My Adult ve1verage on point lol. I ordered tater tots not sure why didn't eat them..maybe because the mai tai had kicked in lol. I had photos of the food :( But take my word for it....

The last time I attended this bar was pre COVID, let me say, they have certainly stepped it up. There is a whole page of vegan food, plus extras in other areas of the menu. I was reviewing the drink menu and really wanted a michelada, however, they are not vegan. I believe the bar tender was Blake at the time (owner maybe?), I asked him if he could do a michelada vegan for me. Without hesitation, he said yes. Yay! I was so stoked to feel comfortable asking and to be easily accommodated. We then ordered off the menu, I got the vegan nachos with ground "beef". Man was this delicious!! My girlfriend ordered one of the hot dogs vegan with the bacon on the side for her, she also got the jalapeno poppers (not vegan) and she loved them. We hadn't eaten all day and we were happy! What a great surprise, we found this place off Happy Cow, and it was satisfying. Heads up, it is sort of a dive bar, not a restaurant (dark with TV and music). They do have AC! I definitely recommend this place if you are vegan.

WATCH YOUR DRINK My friends and I went out to celebrate, and my friend had two drinks here. After leaving this bar she proceeded to lose her vision and hearing, and passed out. She threw up until 10 AM the next morning. I wouldn't wish what happened to us at this bar on anyone. If you are a group of girls, be careful please. especially here. UPDATE Emailed the owners after leaving a message with the bar staff and not hearing anything back. Got a apathetic "sorry for what happened to your fiend ((not joking said fiend)) our cameras have been down the past week". They don't care about protecting their patrons and made it clear.

Bartender was awesome! Food was great, and drinks were strong! What more can you ask for in a "dive bar"?! I read some of the other reviews, SMH If you get hammered and leave all your shit at the bar, it is NOT the bar's responsibility to find it for you dumb ass.

Dropped a 1 star salty review back in the day. No longer have the account so can't change it otherwise I would. Actually a really cool spot. They should be about 4.5. Check it out if you're in Long Beach, I'm sure the locals would all recommend it. Sorry guys!

Not your average Long Beach dive bar. Placed in a prime location on 7th street, this spot has great vibes, and the best selection of vegan/vegetarian pub grub in town. I was surprised to see such an extensive menu, including nachos, tacos, burgers, taquitos, and even deep fried Oreos. The ambiance is casual, with sparse yet homey decor and lots of seating. Two pool tables. I did not realize it was Tuesday until the friendly bartender presented me the Taco Tuesday menu (I never know what day of the week it is). Two beers and 4 tacos came to just $14. Average beer selection-no ambers or dark beers on the day I visited. The Soyrizo Taco was excellent, packed with flavor and perfectly greasy soyrizo-the good, legit Mexican kind. The Mushroom Taco was slightly bland, but I loved all the fresh toppings and salsa. My boyfriend liked the Asada Tacos. Overall, The Good Bar was a pleasant surprise, and definitely stands out in a city full of mediocre bars and eateries. We will be back.

Came here while we were randomly in Long Beach and it was the best decision EVER!! Vibe was great! Food was great (although it took awhile to come out) bartenders were great, lively, and attentive. Definitely a local bar. Seemed like everyone knew each other and we got looks...DJ was there tonight, a bit loud, but to be expected. We got the Western burger with onion rings, jalapeño poppers, and deep fried Twinkie's. The onion rings were the BEST PART!! Made in house from scratch, beer battered and just amazing! And they put them on the western burger! Will definitely venture out here again.

This is one of my fav local watering holes. Tuesdays can be busy but offer great prices on their regular menu items. Today a Friday, lyla offered superb service better than any of my regular visits. This bartender is a fantastic person and takes time to meet the customers needs whenever, wherever, and whoever they may be.

Went there for Taco Tuesday and first off the bar itself is pretty cool! They have sick decks all over the walls and skate videos playing on a projector. For food I tried the blackened fish, shrimp, and mushroom tacos. All were seasoned perfectly in my opinion the only thing I would say is that they need to look into a thicker tortilla or maybe keep it on the comal a little longer cause it got a little soggy. And I'm a pretty fast eater, but I can imagine it falling apart on someone who takes their time. Drinks a modelo and tried the $10 margarita pitchers which were good and strong! Liked how they added a little tajin in the mix!

To anyone who cares. My friends drink got spiked here and she didn't leave it around anyone beside getting it from the bar, leading us to think it was the bartenders or someone at the bartop.. The whole experience was uncomfortable . Definitely not somewhere I would want to be inebriated.

My favorite local spot! Good vibes, great drinks, and really good vegan options too! The tots and vegan chicken wrap are to die for. Staff is always super nice, especially Blake! Cute little outdoor patio too. I love showing my friends and fam this spot. The food, regular or vegan, never disappoints.

I watched this local dive bar evolve from the decrepit Dick n Fayes into what it is today and am so thrilled with how the current owners operate! Never did I imagine a decade ago that I would one day be enjoying big vegan meals here. It's been great seeing the menu evolve and I enjoyed everything I've tried, from tachos, to chili, to burritos and tacos -- it's all been yummy. I love that they're making their own vegan cheese and crema sauces, and that they're offering bbq jackfruit now in addition to vegan chicken and beef style products, as I prefer more whole food plant based vegan eating. I dig skater bars, too, so this is a great low key spot that I enjoy going to in my hood!

DO NOT GET THE MARGARITAS. After reading other reviews, I feel like they do this on purpose to keep the locals happy and people they do not approve of away. It's seems discriminatory....cool set up but horrible service, no one acknowledges you. Needs to live up to its name!

I have been here many times during the day and to eat and those times everything was great but last time I went during the night when they had music was already inside carded showed ID at the bar showed same ID and wasn't let in the bar by this man he was the rudest person ever I told him that I had a friend and needed to tell her I can't go in and pick her up she lost her keys and was sick he wouldn't let me in to help her staff he was the rudest person ever with the worst attitude this was the first time I had ever seen him and have been here many times without issue if you see this man and encounter how absolutely unprofessional he is you will not come back he ruined this hangout spot for me and I invited many of my friends here and will not come back here this man thinks he is tough doesn't care about the safety of people inside when I wanted to get my sick friend out and wouldn't let me . He made my experience here at The Good Bar awful. It's such a shame because prior to this I was a regular customer definitely not any more by how this man treated me he has no integrity or common sense.. if your thinking of coming here don't there are better bars with people who do not treat people horribly.

Thumbs up to a menu that everyone could potentially eat from. Also, thumbs up to the dishwasher. He seemed to be the only person working. I visited 2/17/18. The bar crowd was odd. It was more like a house party. You could smell the restrooms throughout the bar :/ The 2 bartenders and cook had to dance to each song that came on. The cook would step out from the kitchen and go behind the bar to get his 5 seconds of dance time in. They'd skip music they didn't like. The bartender with glasses was hugging and kissing on girls while standing at the register. Not to mention enjoying cocktails. The place was a mess and there was too much staff. The first thing I thought was... who runs this place, because I'd be pissed at wasting payroll on such employees. Not sure why their juice/soda dispenser is over the ice, and I know it's a health violation to have the dispenser cord inside the ice (the wine too). I will not be returning to this establishment.

Starting going here after the Covid-19 lock downs were lifted to watch the Dodgers and Lakers Championship games. The owner Blake, Tim, and all the Bar Tenders are "super chill." The cooks, bar backs & security... same thing "super chill." Blake has been in the bar tending business for decades so he definitely knows how to make his own bar business the chilliest it can be. Food is great, sports games friendly, and at night time on weekends they have a Dj for the Dance crowd. Side note: I'm a morning person so I always grab their Breakfast Potato Bowl dish with eggs and bacon. My girlfriend absolutely loves their Mushroom Pretzel bun burger. Don't even get me started here on Taco Tuesdays because their taco box with a pitcher of Margaritas is absolutely a great bargain. Last but not least they have a wide variety of vegan options for the non-meat lovers. All & all this place is a hidden gem in Long Beach. Just remember some of the Bar Tenders are East Coast sports fans but it's all chill never the less. Good vibes only. Shaka!!!!

Be careful going here! I was roofied here about a year ago, I have heard many similar stories from other people as well of the same thing happening at this bar.

Lady tells the bartender "this guy was here first" the bartender says "ladies first" and continues to help the lady. Not adequate service. Bartender complains about this being a service yet instead when asked for water. Good ambience and skating videos but a little loud.

Cheap drinks and good music with great friends make for a great bar for a Saturday night! This bar has a few arcade games in the front, skateboards hung around the walls for decoration and a few pool tables for your enjoyment. The well drinks were about $6 a piece, which is reasonable for a night out on the town. I really liked this bar, because of the people the chill and relaxed environment of the place. There were no sense of pretentiousness and no frills tied to this bar. Everyone was literally just out to have a good Saturday night. The great bonus was the DJ they had for the evening. Although they didn't have a huge place for dancing, it was enough for what I wanted. Not too many people were on the dance floor anyway, so we had our chance to get our boogie on without any problems of bumping shoulders with random people. The playlist was very eclectic, from classic rock songs to indie-pop, and Top 40.

Really chill spot and really chill bartenders. They have great prices on drinks and a bomb taco tuesday; I always have a good time watching the games here and chatting it up with whoever's behind the bar. Definitely a great place to be a regular at.
