The Good Ship Illustration

I just completed The Good Ship's inaugural Live Illustration course and it was brilliant! Lots of great tips, really well structured and plenty of opportunities to practice and build up your portfolio. Thanks to this course I've had the confidence to go out and do live illustration at real events and am now marketing my skills to potential clients. Love the free resources and art club as well as the podcast, really hope to take the picture book course in future. Taking part in Live Illustration and Fly Your Freak Flag with Good Ship Illustration has been a genuinely transformative experience. I’ve taken two courses from The Good Ship Illustration — the Picture Book course and the Business course — and I honestly can’t recommend them enough! I did the picture book illustration course recently and continue to use the resources which are added to and available for life once you have joined - which is incredible. The best thing about the course content is the hugely positive and inspiring nature of the teaching which is through videos, podcasts, interviews and much more. The three course leaders have such a sparky rapport with each other and their warmth and enthusiasm as well as their huge experience, knowledge and skills jump out from the screen. I thoroughly reccommend any of their courses. Once you join, you become part of a hugely supportive community forever.

I love the Good ship illustration podcast! It’s like having three friends giving you real actionable advice to get your illustration dreams moving. They give me the confidence to say “I’m an illustrator!” No permission needed, no published work needed. Everyone has to start somewhere and the Good ship is the perfect place to start!

Ahoy there! Boarding the Good Ship was just the best decision. It has given me the confidence to change careers and go after something I've always thought about, maybe, possibly one day... The course itself has expert insights, is extremely informative and practical. And with a step by step approach it was great and felt very supportive and not at all overwhelming. This is my illustration dream team. Once upon a time wished I had a course near me that would tell me all the little secrets about how to be an illustrator. Then I found the goodship online courses and my prayers were answered. Delivered with the MOST amount of positivity, support and inspiration - I can work it around my family and health needs as there is no time limit or need to stick to a particular timeline. I have made some amazing friends and contacts I’ve gone from a mere wistful dreamer to a sketchbook loving dreamer with a dedicated desk space who draws a lot and has found her purpose in the universe. I cannot recommend them highly enough.
