Absolutely love this brewery. Their selection is usually small, but everything is too notch. I'd much rather have a choice of 5-8 beers that are all excellent than have to choose between 30 that are mostly IPAs and mediocre. The staff are super friendly and knowledgeable and the vibe is right up my alley. Like, if I could have my way my house would be similar. Highly recommend.

I LOVE THE VIBE OF THIS PLACE! So many beer drinkers are only concerned with the quality of beer, but the atmosphere of a brewery is just as important, in my opinion. Good Wolf has character in spades! Somewhere between having a beer in the Shire and a witches’ den, they just don’t come much cooler. Some may love breweries that are industrial, but those all bleed into one another. And do the other breweries have a wonderful mascot of a dog named Moose? And the beer? Delightful! I showed up on a Tuesday evening with my family after a long, four hour drive. My theee year old was tired and wanted to see the rock fountain across the street. My three month old infant needed a diaper change and was fussy. The beer tender saw my frustration and offered to bring table and chairs outside to accommodate us. She was so incredibly patient and kind. We decided against that and changed a diaper and awed over a simple rock fountain instead. The wife loaded the kids back up and told me to go get a beer. There was a birthday party happening and everyone was happy and elated. It felt like every local made eye contact and greeted me with a warm smile. And did I mention Moose? He’s worth mentioning again. I’ll be going back tomorrow.

If you like quality and unique craft beers, this place is amazing. It was our first time visiting, it was a quiet Sunday and we were happy to learn they are dog friendly. If we lived in Truckee, I know this would be one of our regular spots. Thank you Sarah for a wonderful experience!

Very unique tap room. They do have the default IPAs and lager, but they also have extremely interesting, unique rotational beers. Definitely suggest getting the flight. Not being a hops fan, I really loved The Velvet Plume(smoked stone fruit). No food, just some snacks you can purchase. We also enjoyed the unique ambience. Fairly small. Very friendly staff. I had read it was dog friendly, but I did not see any dogs there when we went.

Really good beers here with some interesting flavors. The facility was nice, if a little dark though. The outside section was covered and had plenty of tables. My favorite brewery in Truckee for sure. Beertender was very nice and friendly.

I have drunk the exact same IPA, triple IPA, hazy, and pale ale, brewed in dozens of breweries from Mexico to Canada. This establishment here, sticks out not just for their variety, but their quality. It's not just IPAs here. This fig wine, for example, is really flavorful, and contains the most well-hidden fifteen percent I've had. You just can't argue with these brews. This place is perfect for anyone looking to try something new, but also, it's just great beer for people who will drink anything good, and don't care what it's called. And there are cheeses and snacks and a kettle chip brand you won't find anywhere else. Plus the decor is, like, magical and stuff. You could fall in love and start a new band here.

I really enjoyed this absolute treasure of a brewery. It is neatly tucked away in an industrial area of Truckee, and it is so well worth the effort to find. I immediately noticed the goth influence in the decor and the music that plays in the background. The beertender, Sam, was very friendly and knowledgeable of the beers on tap, as well as other great spots for beer travelers like us. I had the Skeleton Key, a delicious key lime Berliner Weisse. I enjoyed it very much. I sat outside to enjoy my beer, but the interior is very cozy, with a fireplace that is probably perfect for the cooler months of the year. They have a set up for live music, and host trivia on Wednesday evenings as well. I highly recommend The Good Wolf, and can't wait to return.

What a great find. I have only recently started enjoying craft beers and my knowledge is limited so this review won't do a very good job of speaking to the complexities and specifics of the beer. But I know what I like. The server was very helpful in working with me to select a set of samples. The tasting room was very comfortable with a variety of seating arrangements. I enjoyed the samples and was able to buy one of the pours by the can to take home (Tropticon). These small beer pubs are a labor of love and it's a treat when you find one and are able to share that love of craft beer. This one's a little hard to find, but well worth the effort.

Truly enjoyed the ambiance in this brewery... I truly had the feeling of just wanting to stay and hang out! It was my husbands birthday and he got a flight and loved each one.

We love this place. Unique beers. My favorite is Range of Light, which is usually available. Small and cozy for indoor seating. A few chairs outside when it's sunny. They don't serve food but have yummy packaged snacks available.

Good Wolf Brewing is a great little local brewery with a friendly vibe. It's quite small and doesn't have food, and it's hard to find because they don't have a big sign on the door. I'm pretty sure they're happy to keep it a locals place. And the beer is great! However... if you're thinking of going for their Trivia Night (Wednesday's) you might want to skip it. It is run VERY slowly, with a bad mic, some weird questions, and not much enthusiasm. We were there for over two hours and the game still wasn't over. Other than that, I highly recommend Good Wolf!

Amazing atmosphere and delicious beer! The owners really did a great job decorating in here, it really fits the outdoorsy, spiritual truckee vibe and we loved it. I especially wanted to try one of their forest beers, which are sourced entirely from foraged and local ingredients. I had the Velvet Plume and it was perfectly balanced, hazy and delicious! The bartender, who I didn't catch their name, was super nice and helpful. They have a small handful of beers on tap and no food so be aware of that, but they do offer some snacks and also to go growlers for beer. We will definitely be back to visit next time we're visiting truckee or passing through.

This place was not our vibe at all. The fireplace was cozy but that's all the positivity I can give. The beer was just okay. Better breweries around for sure.

While camping nearby, my husband and I stopped at The Good Wolf Brewing Company on a Friday afternoon to enjoy some local beer. We had our two Great Pyrenees with us and felt guilty about taking up so much space inside but the staff were extremely kind and friendly, and super accommodating. They no longer have outdoor seating, so dogs ARE allowed inside, on leash, as long as they are well behaved. Besides being amazing people and showing us and our dogs so much love, their beer is pretty tasty too! I thoroughly enjoyed the sour beer I tried called Tropticon - it had hints of pineapple and was very refreshing. My husband tried two of their beers - one was a "smoky" beer and the other was a lighter lager, I believe. he had high expectations for the smoky beer but actually preferred the lager. They sell beer to-go and also have some snacks for sale such as packaged meats, cheeses, and crackers. We ended up making our own charcuterie board. I loved all of their merchandise because their logo is very cool and ended up getting a tank top and some stickers. Definitely worth a visit if you are passing through Truckee or camping nearby.

I stopped into this brewery for a couple hours and all my cares melted away. It oozes a laid back vibe and pours fantastic beers. I sample four beers, including a delicious bourbon milkwood stout, before ordering a marzen. The marzen was very drinkable and did not have an unpleasant aftertaste like many others. Then it turned into two marzens and I didn't want to leave. They were playing bands like The Pixies, Joy Division, and The Smiths on the radio and it was perfect for a lazy afternoon. The inside is decorated like the outside. There are vines, ferns, and moss hanging from the ceiling and walls. The bar itself has an outdoor bar feel to it. It's like something you'd see on a patio or in an outdoor beer garden. After couple beers and some relaxing music, I felt like I'd been soaking in an outdoor hot tub for a couple hours. Maybe the moon-like light fixture had something to do with it. It was super relaxing...

These guys had great beers. Really unique and super tasty, and I'd support them for sure to keep up the creativity. The main turn off was regarding their dog policy. I called ahead of time to find out if they allowed dogs inside (some breweries do, some don't) and they don't. No big thing- was just checking. However, when I got there, there were (1) people lounging outside letting their dogs run everywhere off leash, and (2) others coming in and out with their dogs also off leash. Again- I don't care if dogs aren't allowed indoors. But it was weird to me that they gave me a pretty firm no on the phone, then I got there to pick up some beer and there were this group of dogs that not only was indoor and outdoor, but also off leash to boot. I would have liked to sit outside with a pint with my own dog, who is a great cafe dog, but she doesn't like dogs in her face, so the off leash situation was a little disrespectful for others who might be in the same boat. So TLDR- great beers, but weird dog rules it seemed? Make sure if you do bring your dog that they're dog friendly in case of off leash dogs, and that you're chill with potentially sitting outside (still don't know what the actual rule was), or else leave them at home. I'd def still drink their beers.

I rarely leave reviews, but this place deserves the attention. The beer was phenomenal. I tried three different brews and each one was my favorite. On top of that, Montana, the Paleontologist by day and server by night made our experience memorable. I brought my toddler with me and she entertained both of us the entire time (in a great way) with amazing facts around dinosaurs and was an absolute gem. Their location is a bit hidden, but fully worth the visit. It's SO cool inside. We took off right before trivia night, but I'll definitely be bringing my wife back to join the fun. Anyone looking for a place to stop by should add this to their list. Huge appreciation to Montana for such an enjoyable time.

Super cozy little brewery with a handful of beer selection! I had the sour and the stout. which I really enjoyed and my friends got a flight. The sour wasn't too sour, and they actually even have an option to add house made syrup to make it sweeter. The stout was delicious, lots of flavor and alcohol, and loved the hint of coconut that you could taste. As I mentioned, this place is super cozy. There is a fireplace/couch area, as well as high tables with blankets and pillows. We picked out some games and enjoyed ourselves as we drank. Would definitely recommend!

Came in for a drink after a long day at work and the vibes here were perfect! Super calm, great music, friendly bartender. Now my partner is a stout connoisseur and loves a good stout and has tried one every location we've gone, this is the first time he's had one that he's thoroughly enjoyed and I tried it too and loved it! Lots of honey chocolate flavor and so smooth and creamy. 10/10 good wolf

Huge selection of beers. Tons of seating outside and you can move seats around. Great service. They were open on July 4th. Inside has great decor and tons of games!

5 stars for the ambiance. The owners decorated themselves and really pulled it off. Once inside you would never guess you are in a comercial business area. I can beat describe it as a tea house feel with good music, people playing checkers or cards and just lounging on sofas. We did a flight, finished off by a pint of the lager. It is a hot day making drinking anything but light beers tough for my palette. They have a selection of "foraged" beers, which in led local ingredients. There are a few food items in the fridge, you have to ask for the price. I think a price list would be nice. Overall, worth a visit for sure.

This place was great! Tucked away in an industrial area, a little hard to find but glad we did. The beer was great and the space was really pleasant, lots of greenery and a cool mix of modern and rustic vibes. The woman pouring was super friendly and great about our large group that included kids and a dog.

The atmosphere, that the employees create with their beer and their service makes us a place you definitely have to stop and appreciate.

Great brewery. Various pours packed with flavor. There's this campfire one that I just can't describe except, it's kind of like drinking a cold one by a camp fire staring at the moon wondering why we can't pass thru the 4th dimension.

Awesome beer, great atmosphere, friendly and inviting owner and staff! Perfect for a casual hangout vibe, plenty of indoor and outdoor accommodations. Decor is boho chic with some rustic flares very tastefully decorated, adorable and cozy. Dog friendly!! I was super impressed, although a small list of beer on tap at the moment, I have only good things to say about each one. Personal favorite was the Dirt Candy- easy drink, super tasty and refreshing. Described perfectly as Earthy and Crisp. Check out the new IN VELVET (sour) although sour by nature, just refreshing and tart to taste. Highly recommend if your in the area and looking for a mellow hangout and tasty beer! It is majority woman owner and operated, but amazing nonetheless for all crowds! Cheers to the woman in the beer industry!

The Good Wolf is a cozy brewery in the heart of Truckee. It's a beautiful newly renovated space like a world out of a fairy tale book. Decor and vibe is warm, earthy and very welcoming. I love the fact that they have a fireplace, I never want to leave this place. During my first visIt, I opted in for a flight of four selection of beer they had on the board. My first love goes to the coconut stout ((the Fur and Teeth)) followed by spirit IPA.. if you're in the mood for sour their forbidden cherry sour is great as well. I can't wait to visit the good wolf for live bands / music. What a great addition to eclectic community in Truckee!

Venturing up to Truckee these days, any longtime visitor or resident will notice there are a few changes in the brew scene. Chief among them in recent months has been the addition of The Good Wolf Brewing Co. Finally got around to visiting them a couple times, and I think they are off to an exceptional start, bringing great tastes to the mountain beer community, and with still more great things on the horizon. They are located on the north end of town in the industrial and warehouse district, an area with several other hidden gems in terms of beer and food. Parking is generally easy and plentiful, but do watch out for vehicles coming and going from the other businesses. Inside the otherwise unassuming exterior, however, you will find a cozy, quirky, if not downright whimsical setup, with moss on the ceilings, tapestries on the walls, and various little trinkets on the shelves that make you feel almost like you've walked into a tavern out of a D&D game. This sense of whimsy is also carried over into their beers, with highly creative names and styles on their menu. Staring at the Sun is a good, smooth, "juicy" NE IPA with a great hoppiness to it. Spirit Caster, another hazy, is also quite interesting. Golden Wolf, an unfiltered cream ale, makes for very easy drinking, and is one you can easily have several pints of on a hot summer's day. Fur and Teeth is a Russian imperial stout. Creeping up towards 11% ABV, this packs a serious wallop, but also delivers amazingly prominent flavors of chocolate, coconut, and molasses. In truth, it is almost like drinking a candy bar. But what impressed me the most this trip was the Forbidden Temple, an absolutely phenomenal "cherry pie sour". If you go with this option, spring for the optional addition of vanilla syrup in your beer, as this ups some of more subtle hints, and makes it seriously taste like you are enjoying a slice of pie. Definitely one of the more unique beer experiences I can recall. Price-wise, you are pretty on-par with the other craft beer options in Truckee, with most pints starting around $6-$7 depending on type. Growler fills are available, should you find something you want to take to-go, and the staff say that cans will be available for purchase soon, and there is also some swag options for purchase, too. In regards to the staff, I have nothing but praise for them. The service here has been exceptionally friendly, and it was great getting to chat with them a bit about their company and beer styles. All in all, I think The Good Wolf is a highly creative and delicious addition to the ever growing beer scene in our region. I am for sure planning to swing by again and run with the pack of already devoted fans of their work. Cheers, guys!

I almost hate to provide this review for fear that they will get discovered and absorbed by a larger company, but this is by far the best brewery I've ever been to. Small batch, quality, and a great vibe. If you know, you know. #truckeelove

Really good beers. Some of the menu gets a little cute w/ the ingredients for me, but appreciate their experimental approach. Sure they would do more business in a different location.

Yum! This low key spot is great. They have a nice selection of beers on tap and to-go. The dark larger is delish. Dirt candy is a funky option, in a good way. There's no food on-site (small bags of chips available) so pack snacks.

We visited Good Wolf Brewing Company over the cinco de Mayo weekend. It is a small space but had so much character. There a whole vibe to this place. The beers were excellent and have some locally foraged ingredients. There were some great options that had reasonable abvs, so you can definitely have more than one beer without getting trashed. The merch was great and different than the normal stuff you're used to seeing at a brewery. I wish there were more food options, but I wouldn't ding them for this, there is good food nearby.

Beer here was probably best beer in town ! There sour beer was really good . We got tasters which was perfect .

Super cute atmosphere and friendly staff! Great indoor and outdoor seating. Indoor they have a fireplace and games, music and a lot to look at. The music was a bit loud and did not fit the ambiance, but they do have music there for y'all to enjoy while sipping on beer. There was NO food there other than a few bags of chips in the fridge that they could offer. All the beers were heavy and had distinct flavors...woodsy, smokey, piney, etc. None of our group of 5 (4 drinks and one DD) finished their flights. For me being the DD there was no real options to drink and I didn't get my glass of water that I ordered. The 4 stars given here is only because the beer here was not to any of our groups liking. They are off the beaten path so if you like earthy, woodsy beers, go check this place out. Make sure you eat beforehand.

New brewery in Truckee has super friendly owners/staff. Cozy atmosphere, fireplace. Even the "good" wolf was visiting when we were there. Good selection of craft beer with a couple of IPAs along with an ale and others. Use your GPS along with the address as it's a little hard to find. If you are looking for a vibe, The Good Wolf is it. We fell in love with this place. The tap room is small but has so much character. The beer was delicious and interesting too. They offer natural, locally foraged ingredients in a selection of their beers. We are into IPAs and only tried those, but were pleasantly surprised to taste something that was original and unlike anything else we've tried. Definitely check this place out and also look at the merch. It was challenging to not buy everything on the shelves.

Very chill atmosphere and tasty brews! My friends and I got a little tour from Andrew on what was currently "brewing". It was cool getting insight on how beers are made since I'm only good at drinking them. The staff was very welcoming & they had reasonable prices. Definitely would come back! Oh...and the decor!! boho/ warm tones, very inviting.

This place is great for first timers. My mom and I are visiting from LA and we decided to check this place out. This was our first time at a brewery. We ordered the Tropticon (so good), Dirt Candy, Harvest, and Cyclopes Monocle. The service was awesome and I am really glad we came here.

If you're trucking through Truckee, pull off the road for a bit and let them pour you a flight. Unique 'forest' beers and a good selection of sours as well as hazy ipas might make you want to stay longer than you intend, or, at the very least, give you intentions to return.

Such a cool little spot, definitely have to stop in here if you're nearby! They have amazing IPAs and Stouts, and the vibe is so awesome. They even have adorable merch to pick up as a souvenir if you're just passing through!

Some of the best beer in California. It's not just the Tahoe water, it's the amazing ambiance, the friendly staff, and the awesome people who come here. Every beer has a unique profile. I'm no stout guy, but this is the best stout I've ever had. The Cherry pie literally tastes like cherry pie. And the piney goodness of their crisp IPAs will remind you youre in high altitude in case you forgot. I'm so glad to be here in their first couple weeks, and excited for their future.

The Good Wolf brewery in in the old location for Tahoe Mountain brewery but with some great updates including the moss ceiling. I had the Spirit Caster IPA and it was outstanding! One of the best beers I have had in a long while. We will definitely be back soon!

Excellent beers. Super cozy atmosphere. Friendly service. It's a bit challenging to find, but that's what makes it extra special. Although children are probably welcome, please, I beg of you, don't bring them here and spoil the cozy, comfy, chill vibe. There is no outdoor playground or inside play area. Leave the kids with Grandma or hire a babysitter, and go enjoy this form of adult leisure without ruining it for others.

Interesting beers. Some have foraged ingredients, some do not. I've tried both types. The foraged beers are always interesting and never too heavy handed. The non-foraged beers range in styles. I've had good west coast IPAs & lagers. Haven't tried the hazy's yet. It's an unexpected and pleasant vibe given the location in a commercial warehouse-y area. Small brewery crossed with living room and small event space. Saw a local band one afternoon who were very good. Staff were friendly.

This is my favorite brewery in Truckee and the Tahoe area right now. The brews are great and the staff has been very personable even in the midst of the covid stuff. If I could I would get their brews every night!
