The Best Bars in Phoenix, Arizona | Eater Phoenix

"Adhering to Prohibition-era tradition, this plush Scottsdale speakeasy (enter through Crust Pizzeria or a utility door at the back) is named for an animal like Michael Merendino’s other cocktail bars, the Ostrich and the Blue Heron in the East Valley. Cocktail options here include gorgeously rendered, time-specific classics such as James Bond’s Vesper, the Martinez of 1870’s New York, and the feminine, hard-to-find Clover Club. Even alongside the classics, the modern signatures are no less mesmerizing. The luxurious Down Comforter, which combines Smoke Wagon bourbon with bitter, herbal Amaro Lucano Anniversario, pistachio orgeat, and Australian coffee bitters is a must-order." - Nikki Buchanan

We spent our NYE at the Goose and it was perfect! Lily, the Wonder Woman behind the bar, never missed a step. Every cocktail was delicious and came out quickly. Kane, the only server for over a 100 covers, gave impeccable recommendations based on our individual tastes, treated the night like the special occasion it was, and took lovely care of us. He even helped us design a unique flight of Japanese whiskeys during his busiest hour. I cannot recommend you visit the Goose for a cocktail and bite to eat enough, 11/10 on every front. Thank you to the Goose’s hospitality team for giving us such a wonderful night.

Tucked behind Crust Restaurant, this speakeasy is a hidden gem worth discovering. The interior is cozy and stylish, with dim lighting and comfortable seating that creates a relaxed, intimate vibe. The drinks are the highlight here. The cocktails are creative and delicious, with something for every taste—from bold and smoky to light and refreshing. The mocktails are just as good, with unique flavors that don’t make you miss the alcohol. It’s the perfect spot to unwind after dinner or enjoy a quiet night out with friends. Great drinks, a cool vibe, and a secret location—what’s not to love?

Our server Kavon kicked our night off with the best cocktails Scottsdale has to offer. Followed up by some fantastic apps. Everything here was classy but not over the top. Really enjoyed my experience

Fantastic spot to have close by. The staff is always super friendly and open to experiment when it’s not too busy. Having tried a wide variety of cocktail bars, the quality of the drinks here is phenomenal - even the ones they come up with out of thin air! The food is very nice, my wife and I have been very satisfied every time we’ve gone whether it’s for drinks, food, or usually both! Highly recommend this spot.

Amazing experience will definitely be back. Both my drinks were torched which was fun to watch! Food hit the spot and the mixologist knew his drinks. Could make anything you asked even with just what type of alcohol do you normally drink. Had to try the dessert, definitely worth it!

Cute spot, nice and intimate. Perfect for a date in my opinion. You can either enter through Crust (where the server area/soda machine is) or you can go in the doors on the sidewalk. I got the clover club which was good but no better than any other clover club I’ve had. I’d recommend it if you’re in the area and looking for something like this but I would recommend anyone go out of their way to try it.

This hidden gem of a speakeasy is tucked away behind Crust Italiano, with two entrances: one discreetly through the restaurant and the other around the back. Both are easy to miss, which makes finding it part of the fun. We didn’t have a reservation but managed to snag bar seats without a wait—though I’d recommend booking ahead to ensure a spot. The ambiance is dark, moody, and upscale with a stylish, vibey feel. There’s something for everyone, from table seating and cozy bar spots to inviting outdoor spaces. The menu features small bites and rotating specials. We tried the short rib mushroom ravioli and the margherita pizza. The ravioli was outstanding—delicate handmade pasta, a light, flavorful sauce with caramelized onions, and tender short rib that practically melts in your mouth. As for drinks, the Vesper and the Oaxaca Old Fashioned were standouts. The bartenders are true artisans, crafting custom cocktails with complex recipes and an impressive array of ingredients. Highly recommend checking this place out. It’s a spot we’ll definitely be returning to!

Loved everything about this place! The service, the drinks, the atmosphere- everything was 10/10. Will definitely be back to try the food. Kane is a fantastic bartender, made great recommendations, and was very friendly. Michael (co-owner) was also super friendly and welcoming. Best cocktails in the area!
